Remodeled rooms, comfortable for sleeping. Pool was great

Great location. Close to Waldameer Park, the lake and restaurants. Was quiet when we were there but it was at the end of the season. Room was okay. Nowhere to hang clothing, not enough towels or soap in bathroom, light fixture was old and one side burnt out, fairly clean but floor could have been cleaner as our socks got really dirty. Staff was pleasant but had a hard time obtaining the $100 cash deposit on the room at checkout. Didn't try the pool but things looked a bit neglected. Looked as if they were remodeling the whole place but not sure. Continental breakfast was practically non existent when we arrived at 9 am. It was supposed to be from 8-10. Not sure if will stay there again.

We stayed here recently and overall had a decent experience. The room was updated, clean, and looked nice. The location was perfect for visiting Presque Isle, and the price was great for what we got. Our kids loved the pool, and it was a nice bonus. On the downside, the air conditioner was leaking. We were told someone would come to fix it, but no one actually did. The beds could have been more comfortable, and my mom wasn’t a fan of the pillows. That said, for the price and location, it was worth it, and we got exactly what we paid for.

The day I checked in a 100.00 deposit was taken out of my account. He said he would look at room Still have not got it back yet. Parking lot has junk cars in lot flat tires junk cars. Pool not working was to be running when we booked. Rooms very clean.

Super great area, the hotel is an older facility, the rooms were clean and somewhat outdated, but everything else is in need of an upgrade. It looks like they are in the middle of doing that, there were workers about. But if they continue and update its a gem of a spot.We booked because it also has breakfast, but we were disappointed when checking in the sign said only Saturday and Sunday, That was disappointing.

I can tell that an effort is being made to update the property. However, the bed sheets were stained on one of the beds making me glad a second was available. There were cobwebs everywhere, and althought the rooms have probably been painted somewhat recently, there are many many areas that need to be touched up. The curtains in the very large window that faces the parking lot would not close. This led not only to a lack of privacy but also allowed light into the room at night. Additionally, the pool is not really usable. The bottom is not visible and debris floating on the surface is suspect. Lastly, the battery on my room key entry mechanism died causing me to be locked out of my room at 6:30 in the morning. I had to call a number on the office door and it took a long time for a response to my dilemma. The location for this motel will make it a wonderful success if things can be cleaned up a little better. It is close to many attractions.

The pictures were very deceiving. The pool wasn’t working either and that was half the reason we booked here. The room was clean and had a modern vibe to it which was nice. But it was pretty hot and only one half of the room would seem to cool down even with the air down on 60.

What a sham. I wanted to shorten my stay and they refused to refund my money for the days I wanted to delete from the reservation. There were also problems with the room such as no towels, shower curtain too short to prevent water from going out onto the floor, limited breakfast, limited access to the ice machine, etc. Will never recommend this motel.

2 abandoned cars in the parking lot. Obviously residents are not guests sitting outside smoking and listening to their music at night. One of the motel refrigerator sitting in the lawn. Breakfast was basic minimum. However the front desk/staff personnel very nice.

I didn’t get a chance to ask if the pool will be up and running anytime soon, bummer it wasn’t open.

Room was dirty night stand was sticky and dirty , lamps were rusty, towels were dirty floor was dirty , white stuff on head boards , mold in bathroom. limited access to ice machine . I opted to pay at location and it was taken out of my account 2 days before arriving , and charged my card for $100 incidentals. They said they would only refund me 2 nights waiting on it to hit my bank.

This place was very very dirty. I ended up leaving the same day I checked in the bed spreads all stained and the sheets as well. Room was very drafty and not upkept well.

Super dirty... even the walls were filthy. Lights in the room didn't work. Overall just a really gross place.

The hotel was recently updated. It was nice and it was clean. My only complaint was the hot water was not really hot. It might have been better if I waited longer than a few minutes.

I didn’t swim, but others seemed to be enjoying the pool. No complaints. Clean, no frills.

When we checked there were extra fees, the staff gave us dirty towels to take into the room. The room was filthy and the bathroom had someone’s pubic hairs all over the shower walls and the shower spout did not work. The room had an awful stench and the bedding(which was just 2 sheets, not comforters and there were stains all over the bedding. The refrigerator freezer was not taken care of and completely ice build up. Not trash bags in trash cans and not ice bucket liners to get ice. It was not a nice place to stay. Extremely disappointed!

Rooms were pretty spacious. Not sure it was worth $134/night

Good place to stay when visiting Presque State Park. Can't beat the location and proximity to the park! Walls are a little thin so you can hear alot of noise from the outside but reasonable and expected considering the design and layout of the buildings.

Lake Erie Lodge is an old, reconditioned motor inn. The only thing it has going for it is its close proximity to Presque Island State Park. The room was clean, the furniture cheap and worn. No chairs at the seat or table, no hangers and towels thin and like sandpaper. The price at the property is higher than Expedia after they add on service fee for using a credit card, which they require you use for the deposit. It was the only reasonable option during the eclipse, otherwise would not stay there.

Though an older motel that might seem faded at first, the rooms have been redone and provide a really great night’s sleep. The room did not fit the environment. The bed was comfortable, my husband said the shower was great. The room was large but there was another room that shared the same airlocked entryway and physical keys as the room we were in. There was no dead bolt, no peephole or sliding lock on our room door. Someone knocked on our door around 10pm from inside that shared entryway very creepy. Didn’t get much sleep knowing that someone could walk into our room at any moment. This property has potential to be a beautiful place but it would require a lot of ambition and dedication to bring it about. It may be that the current owner is burned out or not there or both. I do not giving reviews if they are negative but I am going to this time because of the safety issues. If you want a good night sleep stay somewhere else.

Minuses: When I arrived circa 8pm to check in, the room wasn't ready (previous occupant had checked out late). When I did check in and was putting my stuff away, I found one piece of clothing and several books (including a Narcotics Anonymous manual) of a the previous tenant. There was no place to hang my clothers. Next day: no coffeemaker in the room, walked to the local McDonald's came back and the card key didn't work. No one in the office (no coffee in the lobby --- my experience is if there is no inroom coffeemaker, there is some in the lobby.) A sign said to call: my phone was in my room. The people who run the place are very pleasant and seem genuinely nice but not terribly competent at running a motel.

The hotel is great as far as location. The female staff are absolutely RUDE! They went in my room moving items to get a chair they wanted in which I was not happy about. 3. Hours after check in they called me accusing me of taking all their linens in which I took nothing of theirs! The women proceeded to get extremely disrespectful telling me I am no longer welcome there and called me back to back over 10 times just to be funny! I was going to book immediately for a trip in 2025 I will never step foot here again!

The staff he was excellent. Very helpful kind, and handles every request promptly Definitely will stay again.

Loved this little hotel! It could use a few upgrades, but the atmosphere and the friendliness of the owner and his wife were outstanding! They knocked on the door daily to ask if we needed anything. They interacted with the children we had with us and made them feel welcome and important. We will be staying again next year!

We stayed on Saturday 12/9/23. We had no heat in the room( they moved us) the second room, shower didn't work, room was dirty the door had no seal around it so cold air was coming thru. and there was no staff available to check us out on Sunday morning. I had to call Sunday afternoon to make sure I got my deposit back. We won't be back.

The owners are extremely rude to the employees. We have stayed here before a couple of years ago and had a bad experience with the owners but we thought we would try it again. However, they are so rude to employees we will not stay her again and I feel bad for the employees that are doing an excellent job.

Manager will not give back room deposit. He won’t give a reason, he won’t even talk on the phone. We had 3 rooms, a month ago. He won’t return the phone calls, and when he answers, he says “please hold” and then the phone disconnects. My mother is 73 and on SSI, and she doesn’t need cheated out of her money.

No staff when you needed them

Even though I paid on hotels.com the manager charged me an extra $43 fee in addition to $51 more for a deposit which they have not yet returned to my card even though I left the room spotless. Also the TV didn't work and the manager said she would have housekeeping come and check it out which they didn't do. And one of the ceiling lights flashed on and off like a strobe light. Horrible place.

If you're looking for a bare-bones, clean, place to stay, close to, and on the same road as Presque Isle State Park, this is a very good little place. Of course, that is based on the deluxe suite, room #45, with a king-size bed, love seat, coffee table, small desk, office chair, mini-fridge, microwave, nice size TV. It is inside a hallway that also goes to an apartment, so it is insulated from the noise emanating from the parking area and surrounding rooms. No front windows, good sleepin". The other rooms are smaller, so if you want something roomier, request #45, especially for a couple. The bathroom is very nice and modern. There is a closet to hang clothes and put your bags. I was too busy to watch TV so I'm not sure what is available as far as stations and premium channels. The owner here is great, and he's got future plans for additional renovations and improvement, so it's not just some dive. I was happy with my stay, and when I return to Presque Isle, I'll stay there again, in room #45. If it's not available, I'll take another room. It's a very convenient location.

The rooms were very clean, bed was comfortable, pillows were too full/stiff. There was a restaurant across the street with outdoor live music. The free continental breakfast was lacking. A little unsure of safety factor, took all bags in the room. No issues arose.

Despite having a mostly pleasant experience here in the past, I almost didn’t go back to this hotel this year. I spent months trying to get my deposit back from our last stay and could not get a response. Upon checking in yesterday, I mentioned this to the girl at the desk and she immediately went in and issued a refund to both my mother and me. I was tired from driving and probably a little rude, but she was very pleasant and made our experience a nice one. We will be back. Just a heads up though, they do not have coffee makers in the room, so you’ll have to go next door to McDonald’s for your morning coffee.

check in was quick and easy. everyone was really nice. room was clean, good location. lodge is on a side street so there wasn't much traffic noise. office was locked when we wanted to check out, no one around. they do not have a free breakfast but was told we could get a coffee in the morning. they had a number posted to call but we didn't want to wait, no where to drop the key so we locked it in the room and left.

We checked in and left all in the same ten minutes without a refund. My son’s asthma was set off by the terrible smell of the cleaning products and they refused to refund our money saying I needed to contact Orbitz for this. Orbitz called for them to release our funds and they refused to authorize the release so ultimately they gave me the run around instead of just telling me themselves they wouldn’t refund. The pictures are deceiving on how much this motel has been updated. In fact the pictures need to be updated. The sand volleyball court has nothing but weeds growing in it. The mattresses are brownish yellow and they are using the pool house to store them which you can see them piled up through the windows. The sheets and bedding are stained. While the rooms have been updated with new paint, flooring, and furniture, the mattresses were disgusting. There were no amenities in the room other than a TV. The lighting in the room was terrible and there was no security lock once we were in the room. When we asked if coffee was available in the lobby we were told what was in the pot has been there since the morning and we shouldn’t drink it. For the same money go stay in a real hotel and just avoid this one all together. The fact that it’s close to Presque Isle is not worth it.

Had some rough points but overall for the price couldn't complain. Was clean. Didn't have coffee maker....was a bummer.
