The hotel is the best ive stayed at for a long time. The hotel gym is filled with new equipment and chilled water on tap, ive never know hotel gyms to have full sets of dumpbells, machines and even a squat rack. The room although small has a luxurious feel, the floor to ceiling window on one side of the bed gives such a luxury feel along with ambient lighting. Complimentary T2 teas and lindt chocolate on arrival. The cafe and bar are very stylish. And the co-working area is somewhere I'd like to work from everyday. I'll be seeking out Little National everytime I book from now on.

Exceptionally clean, modern accommodation. I was most pleasantly surprised by the library which is an excellent co working space - perfect for business travel. There are plenty of dining options within safe walking distance and the staff were really helpful. The only downside is the parking. It’s available but it’s expensive.

the Bar, when we discovered it was very good. Great staff person there but having only one could be limiting if people order food. The Ipad in the room had no information about the bar or Library or that the Hotel had any food options except for a bag of chip and a protein bar. When we asked the bar person about food from there to room he did advise that he ws the only one so no delivery could be done, but after checking your web site it does suggest that this is an option. A little dissjointed, but as a hotel, room, the library and Bar once found was excellent quality, equal to anything I have found in Sydney and Melbourne so you are to be congratulated on that.

A modern hotel on Newcastle’s quayside. Bright, open and clean lobby. Welcoming reception staff. Bar, work space, gym, on site parking. Clean, comfortable, quiet rooms with the best black out blinds in the universe. For the price of an Ibis. From someone who full-times in hotels, this team has it dialed in!

Really nice, new clean property. Great for business travel, library and bar are easily accessible with a fully equipped gym. Plenty of parking and decent cafe out front. Well priced compared to some of the other options in the area. Room is well appointed, large comfortable bed. Small-ish table in the room, not suitable for working, but okay for leisure only (coffee/tea, iPad usage). Great shower and bathroom and the black-out blinds are fantastic if jet lag is an issue. Quietish part of town, a little bit of a dead zone, but a short walk or tram ride to all amenities. The bar in the hotel made up for adequately, and the cafe offers a solid range of beverages and meals, breakfast and lunch.

This was our fourth stay at Newcastle LN since they opened last year. Signs of wear and tear, inconsistent communication between the staff and a terrible drain like smell trapped in the room air conditioning....

Decor and layout are nice, but the smell in the room was horrible. Smelt like fish. Pillows were very uncomfortable, but this is subjective i guess. Maybe different types of pillows would help.

The room was ok in the main however the bed was only accessible from one side and I don’t know what they cleaned the bathroom with but the smell was awful (think hospital bathrooms) and permeated thorough the entire suite. It was so bad we went out and purchased air freshener which didn’t touch the stench, the windows didn’t open and there was no fan in the room. We checked out after only one night into a three night stay, which we have never done before, and checked into a nearby known-brand hotel. The location is fine, breakfast options limited, parking onsite at an additional cost. Nice concept, needs tweaking.

Loved this place. The minute you walk into reception there is this essential oil scent through the entire area....bliss! Staff at reception with check in and check out all wonderful. The room was divine, and completely noise free with good insulation in walls. Bathroom meticulously clean. Top end products for haircare, washing and hand/body balm. Wave activated light and digital switches for blinds, cooling, mood lighting etc...very nice. Bed was like a cloud and a fortress of feather pillows. I would definitely stay again should I ever stay in Newcastle!

We loved the property itself and the gym especially. Great find during our short stay in Newcastle. Only downside was our room (330 I believe) didn’t have Wi-Fi capabilities. The staff tried logging in as well and it seems like that particular location is a dead-spot for Wi-Fi. While visiting from abroad, it’s not always possible to access data from our phones so having Wi-Fi would have been nice for the one night we were there. Hopefully the team can figure out how to expand the Wi-Fi capabilities across all of the rooms. Overall, would recommend to others visiting Newcastle.

If you going to have lots of tech, it has to work. TV kept turning itself off, blinds kept closing, the tablet to call reception didn’t work and so on. And when you complain, they just don’t know what to do. The cafe was also not great and the room was really small (and only accessible from one side of the bed as it’s boxed in between walls and the window).

Nice, modern and comfortable room, though the digital light switches take sometime to get used to. Bed positioned between 2 walls would be hard for older people to climb in and out of. Overall an excellent room.

Great hotel in a great location for walking but our air conditioning did not work for a large part of our stay and our room was unbearably hot. Not pleasant at all, which was a pity as we like Little National in Newcastle.

Fire alarm went off twice while in the hotel. First 9:30 at night with a message from the duty manager saying it was no emergency… then again at 3:30am. Not so much fun. While hotel was evacuated. No staff present. No directions. We were all outside for maybe 45 minutes… finally alarm was turned off… from somewhere… still no direction from staff… some patrons re entered the hotel but going access the floors. Finally a staff member came outside and says we could go back in. Definitely could work on emergency direction for patrons. On check out a few hours later, no apologies, just a shrug of shoulders and ‘it was next door doing work on their panel’ at 3:30am?! I think not Having said that, the room was great. Location an long, but easy and pleasant walk.

The staff were amazing ! Marcelo who moved me from one room to the next cause the air conditioning wasn’t working was amazing his service was exceptional. If I had a business, I would hire him immediately. Highly recommend this hotel.

Our second stay at The Little National in Newcastle and enjoyed it just as much. We took advantage of online check in and checkout (very easy) for our stay, we also used the hotel’s car park. The room was quiet, clean and the most comfy bed! Will definitely stay a third time.

Convenient location near main roads and public transport but far enough away that noise was never an issue. The waterfront promenade walk is just across the street, short stroll to pubs and restaurants. My room was well appointed, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the blockout blinds are great now daylight savings has ended. All the staff I encountered were very friendly. Will definitely stay again next time I visit Newcastle.

Very well appointed, nice to have the in-house bar with comfy lounges etc. It would have been nice to have free parking as the Hotel is (conveniently) close to city and dining precinct and parking is a bit of a nightmare there. Having said that, I would definitely stay there again.

I cannot fault Little National Newcastle. The service was brilliant at every level, the room was lovely, comfortable and so functional, right down to divine toiletries and a hairdryer so powerful I'm buying one for myself. We had lovely drinks at the bar and were totally impressed by the library and its many work areas. Sunday morning breakfast at the newly-opened Monte cafe is a must not just for guests but for locals. Strongly recommend.
