Regency Inn Richmond

The hotel was absolutely horrible! When we pulled in, the building looked rundown and abandoned. Check in was with a young girl who appeared to be bothered by our presence. On our way to the room there was people just hanging out everywhere as if they lived there full time. The pool was still covered as if it was still winterized. The pathways to the rooms which were outside were dirty and stunk. The smell was a combination of cigarettes, weed and urine. Once inside the room it got worse. The room was very outdated with furniture that was rundown. The room was dirty and the bathroom and stains in the tub as well as the sink. Overall this room and hotel was very poor and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. We left after check-in, went to our event. We didn’t leave any of our belongings in the room because we were afraid they’d be gone when we got back. By the time our event was over we decided to turn our room key in and not even stay there. The only thing I wish we did prior to leaving was take some photos of the hotel for this review but I unfortunately didn’t think of it.

There were no working ice machines, there was no breakfast available

Extremely disappointing. Everything is run down in room except the new toilet. The bedding and floor appeared clean but the shower was dirty and appeared to have been messily fixed. Grout blobs in tub. Toilet lid was only partially attached. Doors did not open or close very well. Tv did not work correctly and remote held together with green tape. Lamp shade kept swinging with air on because nothing holding it on lamp. We asked for extra towels and was told house keeping was closed and maybe bring them to us. No one ever did. We only had one hand towel to share. No clothing rack on wall just patched up spots. Brown stains on 2 of the walls. Gross. The pool was completely closed. See photos of room. It is a junk place that is not maintained.

Beds were comfortable. Close to Kroger, CookOut, and a gas station/smoke shop/convenience store - all walkable. Negative: the ice machine wasn't working.

Meagan was really nice and helpful, the pool was not open, but she took the time to search for pools in the area. The property needs alot of work, especially the bathroom and sinks. You want more business, fix it up good, no patchwork

Clean and affordable. Lots of parking available. Many food options nearby.

I would stay here again. Quite easy parking. Lots of food choices near by. Good staff. They made the bed and fresh tiles every day.

The power outlets was very loose around the entire room The elevator was boarded up when trying to access it after parking the car so I had to use the stairs often

There was boogers stuck to our headboard. There was dead bugs on our comforter. The entire room reeked of cigarettes. The bathroom was extremely dirty and the tub was stained red, which was unsettling. Neither of us slept under the comforter because everything felt so dirty. The lady at the front desk was super sweet and helpful, which was the only enjoyable part of the stay.

The hotel was in terrible condition. The room smelled of cigarettes. I didn't even unpack my bags, I changed hotels.

Out of date rooms filthy bathroom and bed linens and alot of drug activities

First, I have to say the staff was very friendly and kind, but the rooms did not look how looked online. There were stains on the sheets, dead bugs behind the bed, no remote control in our room and when we got one it was broken, the bathroom door could barely close, and the hotel was just honestly in poor shape. What made up for it was the price and kindness of workers but it still was not the best experience.

The main office had a very heavy musty smell. The room we were in also had a musty smell The bed comforters were covered in stains which looked like it might have been from a liaison of another couple or something. Outlet near the bed didn't work. Stains on wall.

Cockroaches, dirt, mold, horrendous cigarette stench in the room, broken toilet seat, people trying to open the door at 3am, and the list goes on. This was the most digesting experience ever.

Room was dirty

I booked my stay with Hotels.com a few months ago. I had never heard of the place but not much was available for the weekend of August 10-11, 2024. When I arrived it was around 8:30 pm and was scared to get out of my car. Once I got the nerve to exit my car, I entered the hotel and checked in. The first room 214 had a few issues so I went back to the desk. I then was given 117 and it was on the ground floor. When I entered, their was towels behind the bathroom door. The ice machine was broken too. When I woke up through the night I was very itchy. I pulled back the covers to find bed bugs on the sheets. I will be contacting my doctor and getting lice shampoo as well. I took a lot of photos and will be calling the health department to have this place investigated. Yuck Yuck Yuck. Don't ever stay here. I do NOT believe they have a housekeeping department either. You are better off sleeping in your car! THIS PLACE GETS ZERO STARS!

The hotel looks run down, but the room.was clean and comfortable, the bed was remarkably comfortable. It was quiet and we will stay here again,much nicer than other places we been lately that cost much more.

Room was not too bad but had no idea a mirror the size of the bed would be on the ceiling! Also the toilet was very small and would be very hard for a tall person to get up and down from.

As with most things you get what you pay for. This was a relatively cheap room that ultimately served its purpose as a place to sleep for 1 night. Supposed to be a smoke free room but we could smell it pretty strong as soon as the door was opened. Amenities were as expected for a cheap place. Mini refrigerator was fine for our few things. Microwave worked fine. Bed was normal (horrible) for a cheap hotel. Mattress was shaped like a bowl and pretty uncomfortable but served its purpose for a place to sleep. The door didnt latch properly so we had to put a chair in front of it to keep it so that no light would shine through. Room overall was in need of repairs. The mirror on the ceiling was not a perk either but rather weird. Staff seemed good but we really only interacted during checkin. My rating is low because of the smoke smell being bad and the door not functioning correctly. Both are issues that we should not have encountered. We will NOT be staying there again

I'm always looking for a good balance of cheap and comfortable, and this time I didn't do too well. I booked this for one eve, and basically it was just a spot to sleep , before continuing to drive a bit more south. We arrived like 11:30 pm and I could tell pulling up that I messed up lol. The sign was on the fritz....like strobing on and off like some horror film. The place looked like it was there in the 70's and never remodeled. The lady that checked us in (Meghan ?) was super nice and I would say that she was the best thing I can say about the place lol. Our room was not dirty, but looked very "used". Dings and scratches on the old furniture, bad unfinished drywall patching,a flickering lamp, cracked sink, the tub looked as if it was painted, and a faint note of cigarette smoke blending with whatever scent they used to hide it. The sheets were clean, and really that is all I cared about. We didn't see any bugs, and we looked for them lol. We only came to sleep a few hours, so it wasn't the end of the world, but I don't think I would be happy if I had to stay there and shower and live a few days. It could have been worse, for sure, but I wish it was a bit better.

WiFi doesn’t even reach rooms only by the office. Mini fridge is dirty af and doesn’t even work. Microwave has rust in certain parts of the inside which isn’t safe for food to be cooked inside. Furniture and tvs are outdated. Dont waste your time here.

I had ask and requested several times but I must have Wi-Fi. #1 must have its included in the amenities. When I first got there I requested it when it was a problem I let them know they said they were going to fix it and they never did.

Whilst it was nice for comfort, there were elements that let it down. For example the tub was not clean to the standard I would expect it to be. Though there might be a reason why this was. The tiles around the Hot Tub were cracked and felt very dangerous to touch. The decoration felt very dingy whilst the mirror on the ceiling looked kinda creepy especially waking up to see yourself. Staff miswritten the number plate of our vehicle so make sure you’re clear when talking I spoke clear but obviously not clear enough. Cleaning staff would have came in if chain wasn’t on the door despite us stating we didn’t need Housekeeping and I feel they should have provided Do Not Disturb Signs. The outdoor pool was not available and was not made clear why this was. Overall it was an average place to stay

The staff was excellent! Especially Victoria and Megan. This motel has 3 stories and I am handicapped so I was greatly relieved to see that they had an elevator! Most multi story motels do not. I was staying in Richmond because my husband had been life flighted to Chippingham Hospital. I nevere knew from day to day if I was going to need a room for the night. My husband has Alzhimers that complected his hospital stay. Some days it was ok for me to leave him and sleep at the motel other days weren't. My first night I was in a room that hadn't yet been revamped. I didn't care for that room at all. But the other rooms that had new vinyl flooring were much better and the paint color was pleasant. Yes this is an old building but progress is being made. Overall it was definitely a good choice for the cost. I wish I could have been there when the pool was open. I'd love to have gone for a swim. If I have to return to Richmond for any reason I will gladly stay here. A couple of suggestions to management 1.New curtains are desperately needed. All 3 rooms I stayed in need the curtains replaced. 2. Not all the rooms had a door chain, for security reasons this made me uncomfortable. 3.While all the rooms had an extra chair, a small dining table would have been appreciated. One room had a small glass table that would have made a great plant stand. 😊

Hotel was good for me and my family through the whole stay front desk attendants Megan and Victoria were always helpful along with the rest of the staff. This will always be a top choice on hotels for us in the future thank you

Meagan runs the front desk. She is your go to person when you need something. She is the only one I like dealing with. Very down to earth.

Good location, not too far from center of Richmond, but far enough for some peace and quiet.

Towel & washcloths were very worn. There were stains on the comforter. No place to hang clothes. I did not feel comfortable or safe.

It was convenient and reasonably priced. It doesn’t have breakfast which was okay for us.

I have traveled a lot working in the past two years and this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Place is dirty. Trash and graffiti outside. The restaurant is actually closed. Pool is closed. Staff was rude when I checked in. The room was decent (only reason why I stayed). Ppl fighting next door and just hanging all of the place. It looks like a hotel that the city probably use as a shelter on occassion (it just gives that type of vibe just as the ppl that is just hanging out). Feels a little unsafe.

Overall experience was good. Service was great. Room appearance was ok, paint was peeling or cracked in some spots which was unattractive. Pool was closed whole time which was ugh. Great dining areas nearby, really loved First Watch for breakfast.

We made online reservations & check-in was quick'n'easy. However, our non-smoking room was unmade/unready for us. Once we discovered this, we were given another room which appeared clean but had strong nicotine odors. Last room change was made and seemed alright initially -- but once heater was running, the stale marijuana smell became strongly distinct; plus 1 of 2 door locks didn't work & 2 of the 3 lamps did not work. Although they do not serve breakfast, they do provide a refrigerator & microwave. Coffee/tea was available in the lobby.
