Amazing Mountain View & Cabin Retreat - Big Canoe

Great for 13 person family vacation. Check-in delayed (other renter fault, not owner) and dishwasher broken. Owner was super responsive and apologetic. Did everything to make things right. I even mentioned some rooms without curtains and he had temporary curtains installed until newer ones could be arranged! We've rented many homes and this was the most accountable and responsive owner we've had. He had a new dishwasher installed in 2 days! 5 stars for owner (he's out of state, but 98% of things can be handled by phone) The house itself: Pros--huge house, fantastic kitchen for cooking for big group, clean, everything labeled, deck with amazing mountain view (had cool sunset dinners every night), great screened-in porch to chat away from kids when it gets buggy, second fridge in garage, good large grill, awesome suite above garage for older kids/parents if needed. Cons (all very minor) - driveway is narrow with steep drop-off and tiny turn around, tricky to drive out--especially with multiple cars, but you have garage available for parking too. Didn't have curtains in all rooms for those that sleep in, but he is fixing that now. Love extra icemaker but wish it was in kitchen instead of basement bar. All very minor nits. Overall:Great property, great owner. It is expensive but great for big groups. Big Canoe will nickel and dime you for amenities/pools/lake but they are nice. Golf course is really nice too. Wasn't sure about Big Canoe at first, now thinking about coming back!

This property is amazing!! So much room and plenty of amenities onsite. The porches are so relaxing and I am already wanting to go back!! Kitchen is well stocked and everything was just as described! If you are on the fence about renting this, run and do it now!! Beautiful place and we definitely be back !!

This property is at the top of our list! My family & sisters families go on a trip every MLK weekend. We loved the space , games & Mountain View’s. The kitchen was large & well stocked. The bedrooms & bathrooms were large. The house was easy to get to & the neighborhood was well taken care of.

Our extended family just returned from our annual summer weekend together and this was our first time at Big Canoe. This house is listed as a"cabin" but it is much more like staying in a luxury hotel. It is huge with more than enough space for all 12 of us (seniors to toddlers) and loads of thoughtful details. Fluffy towels, televisions scattered throughout, comfortable beds and the most amazing mountain view. The Beach Club is overloaded with fun with both adults and children. We had a lovely weekend and hope to return.

It is our second time here and we love this house. It is spacious, light and comfortable. Kitchen is so well stocked, beds are comfortable, porch has amazing view. Neighborhood has plenty to do: hiking, playgrounds, lake with rest area, ice cream shop close by. It is beautiful there during fall. The host is quick to respond. Everything was perfect. We will be back again.

The house was clean and comfortable, with amazing views and access to everything Big Canoe has to offer. We would love to book it again!

We have been going to the Big Canoe for three years now. This was the best by far. Great space and location to many activities. House was well equipped with what we needed. Owner called us while we were there to see if we needed anything to help enjoy our stay. We will be back.

Overall very comfortable place to stay. Very pretty views from the dining room, living room and deck. More than enough linens, bedding, towels. Communication and check in was very easy. The only thing I would say could have been improved but we worked around it was the kitchen pots/pans have a great deal of chipping of the non stick coating and the knifes are random brands/sizes that are worn pretty heavily and dull. It made cooking a little more difficult. But otherwise a nicely stocked kitchen with dishes, crock pot, blender, Keurig coffee, espresso machine, standard coffee pot plus others. The trails, lake beaches, rock slide, and pool was very nice. Good grocery store within 2 miles of the entrance so no need to get a bunch of groceries if traveling from far away. With the overall many positives with the stay we readily still rated the stay at 5 stars.

We had a wonderful time at this absolutely gorgeous cabin. The cabin was very spacious for our large gathering. The whole cabin was well stocked from linens, blankets, kitchen etc.. The owner was excellent to work with ,very easy check in and out.

Our 31st year for all the Ladies in our family to get away together for 4 days. The house was well stocked with all necessary items you would need daily . Very clean and an Excellent VRBO house and location. Would highly recommend this one and would go back again. The owner was extremely helpful and was always just a call away if needed . The only thing we might recommend that needs to be added to the house would be a card table and chairs. Will rate it a Five Star VRBO.

This was my second time staying at Tooms Cabin in Big Canoe and it did not disappoint! The house and grounds were all beautiful and true to pictures displayed. It had ample space for the 7 of us who stayed overnight and enough for a day with additional guests who visited over the weekend. Any minor issues or questions we had were quickly addressed by Hassan. I would highly recommend this home and look forward to an opportunity to visit again!

We had our entire family of 14 stay at Black Bear Ridge. The house was beautiful, incredibly clean and beyond well stocked. The owner had an extremely organized booklet with instructions and directions for everything. He was exceptionally communicative on everything. Big Canoe was fun for all of us from ages 2 to 56! I highly recommend this cabin- it made what could be a hectic large family vacation so easy and enjoyable! Thanks Hassan!

This was the perfect house for a large family group! There were places to have fun and be loud, spots to be cozy and enjoy the outdoors, and areas the family could be together and watch a movie. Would for sure stay again.

All rooms are very large including the bathrooms. The kitchen has everything anyone could possibly need. The view is fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the stay. Would we rent it again for a large gathering? YES. ABSOLUTELY

Staying with extended family for an out of town wedding. Great property, every bedroom had its own bathroom and plenty of space for everyone to spread out. All with beautiful views!

It was the perfect place for a family reunion. The house had something for everyone and space for all! The house is even better than the photos, and it is fully equipped, ready for a great stay. We rented two houses, but this one was nicer and cost less.

We had a wonderful time at this absolutely gorgeous cabin. The cabin was very spacious for our large gathering. The whole cabin was well stocked from linens, blankets, kitchen etc.. The owner was excellent to work with ,very easy check in and out.

This was the perfect gathering place for family awho traveled into town for our daughter’s wedding. Lots and lots of space. Great communication by the owner and they made it easy.

This is the second time we've booked this property for a yearly golf trip with a group of 8 and hopefully we'll continue doing so. The house has everything you would need and the communication with the host is fantastic! Would definitely recommend!

The property was beautiful especially in the sunrise and sunset. This was my dad’s last wish to have everyone together and this place did just that. It is kind of remote with Walmart being about 30 minutes away, but the IGA is only about 10-15 minutes. All the other towns are only about an hour drive. It’s such a beautiful area I would definitely make a second trip back!
