We were pleasantly surprised with this property. Easy to get to, check in was smooth and staff were friendly. Parking at our building was minimal but we lucked out to find a spot. Building was beautiful, room was spacious and exceptionally clean. We will definitely be staying again.

An absolutely lovely stay. What a great option for families visiting their children at UMaine. Loved the well-equipped, clean gym. We appreciated the front desk staff printing our Acadia National Park parking pass. We will visit again!

The hotel room I stayed was new and clean. No parking was available for my late arrival so had to park in a remote lot 8-10 minute walk away. No free breakfast, the small cafe had a limited menu and closed at 10. All in all a meh stay, for what they charge it should be more upscale, have more facilities or at least breakfast.

Really nice hotel! I was a little confused when I first drove onto the University of Maine campus, the outside looks like dorm but the inside is Not a dorm. The staff was really helpful and nice. There is a washer and dryer for guests. The room was spacious and comfortable. Loved the work area, well thought out. Only thing that could be updated is the bath towels could be bigger… I’m not a big person but these barely wrapped around me. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.

The hotel is located on University campus and traveling with young children we were looking forward to using the pool but we found out we had to purchase a full day pass I think moving forward it would be great if the hotel covered this cost.

Nice hotel but had some problems. Door to room doesn’t automatically close; you need to really pull it closed each time. Bathroom door wouldn’t close. Found lots of hair on the floor, in the shower, on the linens. Dead spider on the freshly made bed when we arrived.

Located on U of Maine campus. So convenient for campus activities, athletics, etc. Close to downtown Orono and Old Town. Ten minutes to downtown Bangor. Boutique Hotel is spotless. Staff is professional, courteous, and accommodating. A great find. Reasonably priced.

No shower door/curtain, water splashed everywhere. They are asking for mold issues with these poorly designed showers. Water pressure in shower was weak. Room smelled very strongly like some kind of chemical, maybe new carpet? Very unpleasant, borderline unbearable. If I wasn’t so tired I would have left or asked for a different room. Mirrors smudgy. No wifi password or instructions given. Pillows uncomfortable. The deadbolt on the door was broken and not able to be locked, it did not line up with the hole. Overall a severe lack of attention to detail in the design of the room and the overall experience. The campus itself is beautiful and hopefully they can fix these issues and turn this place around for the better.

I love the location, staff, and being on campus. Great parking. The only feedback is the pillows have an odd smell, almost like dirty hair which I have experienced two stays in a row. I spray perfume on them so I can use them. I smelled it upon entrance to the room so it's quite pungent.

This hotel, on the campus of the university of Maine, appeared to be brand new, super clean, secure, and well appointed. We stayed there for one night at the start and two nights at the end of our trip, both rooms were similarly designed. The first room had a broken shade, stuck in the down position. Otherwise everything worked. There is a microwave, small fridge, one comfy chair with ottoman and a nice desk chair and TV in each room. A nice coffee shop with a few tasty pastries, solid coffee service and fruit offerings was steps away. One of the nicest reading rooms/lounge that we’ve ever encountered was close to the cafe. One has to drive a few miles to find a restaurant/bar/shopping. We didn’t offer a five star rating only because of the isolation from restaurants and the broken shade.

Staff needs to provide specific instructions to travelers not staying in the same building as the registration desk, rather than pointing in a general direction and rattling off the building name. Staff needs to be aware that some travelers are not familiar with the campus and building names, maybe writing the name of the building would be helpful. Same for access to WiFi service, instructions are incorrect, instructing guests to log into a service that according to the front desk rep. does not exist. Staff seemed annoyed to have to explain the proper WiFi service and log in procedures. When attempting to login to the WiFi service, note states you have to enter an access code, which is actually the password (without a space, which was not clear either).

Room was awesome. Clean, quiet, comfortable. The only trouble was the billing. I had a receipt from Expedia , but they claimed the pmt hadnt gone through and required me to pay again. Then, they billed two more times. It took a lot of back andcforth to get them to refund excess charges.

Fantastic place and so convenient. Other than having the front desk guy bang on my door 3 times at night, the 3rd time to tell me the computer glitched and someone else was booked for the room I had been in since 3pm- why he didn’t just give them another room- it was practically empty- rather than hassle me I’m not sure. I’m guessing that was not the norm. Overall one of the cleanest and freshest looking places I’ve stayed and for a great price.

The only negative I have about this location is that it was not clear as to what building I needed to go into to sign in and after a long Trip I just wanted to get to my room and relax. All Staff were friendly and very helpful. Gave great restaurant recs and were patient when I needed to change my method of payment. Rooms were clean and comfortable but obviously old dorm Rooms but more than adequate for short stays. Better than a lot of hotels I’ve stayed in! I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Hotel Ursa is affordable, clean, and comfortable. Those are the essentials for me. It’s an interesting setting being located on campus at Maine State University. Colbe was friendly and welcoming at check in. He was very polite and professional making it clear that this is an outstanding hotel in every way. First-class front desk experience!

My husband and I stay at Ursa frequently while attending University of Maine sporting events. Hotel Ursa is convenient, but it is also clean, comfortable and the staff are very friendly. We can’t recommend it enough! Special shout out to Colbe and Ashley for all they did to make this particular stay extra wonderful!

Very comfortable and convenient. On campus so perfect for coming into town for University sporting events. Friendly staff, nice coffee shop. The main study is a time capsule of UMaine treasures (old year books, S.King novels, and other cool knick knacks. 20% discount if you have a student at U (but only if you reserve directly)

Location was great, property and parking was great. Check in and out was great. Everything was great except breakfast 😌 There is no free or even reduced breakfast, guests are required to purchase breakfast from hotel cafe which is an extreme disappointment. For this we won't be staying again. Sorry.

Unusual but cool concept having a hotel in the middle of a college campus. Staff were friendly and very helpful. There were a few disappointments however. The cafe is only open 7-10am and the espresso machine wasn’t working. Id like to see the cafe be open for longer and offer more food options! Also, rooms are nice and beds comfortable but the decor was a bit lacking. Rooms could benefit from some additional artwork. How about some historic photos, or depictions of the Ursa Major & Minor constellations to tie together the theme of the hotel and its setting on a college campus? Bottled water in the room would be nice as well as some wider choices for tv entertainment instead of just a few boring cable channels with mostly ads. The study room next to the cafe is a wonderful space, with great decor, cool furniture and great books. Maybe incorporate some of these elements in to the rooms? Overall we were comfortable for our one-night stay but I couldn’t help thinking about all sorts of improvements that could be made.
