Paradise Cabin at Pardise in the Woods overlooking the Buckhannon River

Me, my husband, my 6 year old son, and my brother stayed at this cozy cabin. We had a great time, really enjoyed getting away and spending a peaceful time here. I loved the location, plenty of woods surrounding you with the river just in front of the cabin, across train tracks. When I saw the train tracks, I was nervous there might be loud trains going by, but there wasn’t one train the entire time we were there (it might even be a track no longer in use). The cabin itself was very clean and there’s plenty of sleeping space. We loved the fact that it had a pool table, that was one of the big selling points for us. We love pool and play often! Another thing that I loved was the play set outside, my son had fun with that. Overall, great stay and owner was awesome! Even brought us ice melt because there was a snow storm coming. We really appreciate the great experience and look forward to coming back!

Paradise cabin at Paradise in the Woods definitely fits the name. We truly felt like we were in paradise! From the amazing views, the sound of the flowing river, and the abundance of wildlife, you will not be disappointed. We saw deer, an otter, and even a groundhog. We all enjoyed swimming in the river (especially our teenagers and dogs), fishing, playing pool, daily walks and fires in the fire pit, and just relaxing. The house was extremely clean, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, and I loved that the oven was a gas stove/oven. We did briefly lose power during our stay due to a storm, but Cheryl (the owner) immediately showed up with a generator for us to use until the power came back on. We would definitely stay here again. If it’s available, don’t think twice. Just book it!

Went on a guys’ fishing trip. Caught some trout. One member due to disability had trouble reaching the river.

The only downside was the smell and taste of the water. I also think it would be great to have a corn hole set on site.

This was such a warm family cabin with plenty of space for all. Our family of 4 plus our dog, enjoyed a nice long weekend at this beautiful cabin. The views are stunning especially from the amazing deck across the front of the property. The rooms inside were all clean with comfortable beds. The kitchen was beautiful and had all the dishes and utensils we needed. The wood stove took a little getting used to on how often we needed to feed it, and we ran out of fire starters, but I sent a message to Cheryl brought more out to us same day! We stayed in January so we didn't get to do as much outside as we would have liked to, but the kids did get to do some exploring and even found some cool rocks as souvenirs. We were extremely sad that a winter storm warning caused us to cut our trip short, but we were a little worried we might get snowed it. The drive is very lond and downhill the entireway from the road to the cabin. We had 4 wheel drive and used it to get in and out of the property, I dont know if you could get out without if there was any kind of weather. Additionally I would advise anyone staying to be careful when choosing a rout in the area. We ran to the IGA and our GPS tried to kill us with the worst road if you could even call it that. (Again that in no way is the fault of the host, totally our fault, just a warning for other city folk like us)

If you're looking for privacy and serenity, this is the place to stay! The property is well maintained. The Buckhannon river is only a rocks throw away and the sound of the water was very calming. I am from West Virginia and know that area fairly well, but my Garmin GPS took me to this property with no issue.

We stayed at this beautiful cabin for a week. It was very private and secluded which we definitely loved. My sons loved fishing in the river. They caught several different kind of trout and some small mouth bass. It's a great place to relax and enjoy nature and the beautiful river. Cheryl was a great host. We needed the outside trash cans to be emptied before the end of our stay and Cheryl was easy to get a hold of and made sure the cans were emptied immediately. We definitely hope to return next year.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. We loved the privacy and peacefulness of the property. The cabin itself is incredibly spacious and comfortable for large groups. Having the river so close was one of our favorite parts! Despite the weather raining us out for a few days, we still enjoyed every minute. The beds were comfortable and having a fan in every room really made a huge difference on the 90 degree days! The kitchen was also fully stocked with all the appliances and utensils we needed, everything in perfect working order. The wifi was perfect for streaming music while outside at the fire pit or on the porch. Check in and check out was a breeze, Cheryl is very helpful and responds swiftly. We would definitely stay here again!

We decided to start a new Thanksgiving tradition and I believe teenagers and adults alike can't wait until next year to come back to your home! My family had an amazing time at the cabin, it was nice, warm, and cozy !. Our kids ranges from 2-16 years old had so much fun, there were plenty of things to do. We will be back again!

We went with friends and had kids all under the age of 8. We all enjoyed it and plan on making this a yearly visit. The views were amazing. The river was clean and kids loved playing in. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I would love to own this property one day!!!

We loved our stay in West Virginia. Definitely out in the country, which we enjoyed. Definitely follow directions.

It was exactly what I was looking for. Remote, quiet, away from the hustle & bustle. We had the property to ourselves. No nearby neighbors. It was enjoyable waking up in the chilly mornings listening to the river below & looking out at the mountains above. Our pup loved swimming in the river & exploring the property. It is very remote. Far away from activities. Expect an hour drive or so. Overall we enjoyed our stay & would love to come back in the summer with the whole family.

Very off the grid with all of the amenities. The drive on Independence Drive is a little rugged, but worth it!
