Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky OH

We were a family of 7. We reserved a family suite. The room did not have a microwave. They brought one and it didn't work. The pool area closed at 8 but check in isn't until 4. So 4 hours of availability is not enough time. The beds were so uncomfortable. The pillows felt like they had no stuffing. Did not sleep well at all. The hallways are an icebox. There is no reason for the air in the hallway to be that cold in a water park. Overall it was not fun and not comfortable. Even the kids said they don't want to stay there again.

All the pools were warm water. There were multiple life guards on duty. Life vests and baby swim diapers were complimentary

Good place but when booking on here parking fee and hold on your card don’t tell you j100 hold on card but great stay

Great Wolf Lodge is in decline. We paid over a thousand dollars for two nights. This did not include breakfast or parking. Both of these were separate charges. The water park closes at 8 pm. There is no pool for night swimming as is often found in other far less expensive places. Why pay more for so much less?

Did not like that we had to pay to park when we booked a hotel room

The start was great. The place was clean and comfortable and the staff was really nice. The only problem we had was it kept charging my card authorization fees, total amount of about $575. They would just tell me it's an authorization charge it'll all come back to you. If it was my bank account i would've been screwed!!! Also there is a charge for parking....$15 a day.

The waterpark is pretty small otherwise it was a great overall experience.

Water park was a bit disappointing if you’ve been to other lodges - much smaller, fewer slides and no wave pool. Internet was very slow. Room was clean and adequate for our family of 5.

Pool closes at 8 and doesn’t open until 10. They have everything set up for purchase and cost $15 a night to park when you are already paying 300+ a night

The staff was well informed and did an excellent job interacting. The shows were fantastic and engaging for all ages! The shops were a bit pricey. The waterpark was great! We plan on going back. The room was not properly cleaned and there were burn holes in the sheets. Room was also noisy. No sleep for the wicked

Very clean! Was cleaning everywhere through out the day! Nice activities for the kids to do. Very clean.

The kids were in bed, we turned down our bed and it was filthy. Called down and no response. I walked down to get our sheets replaced, they were not clean from the previous occupants, NASTY! We ran out of tissues and toilet paper. I had to walk back to the front desk to get an extra roll to replace the one that started as a 1/3 roll w/out an extra roll left?? I just grab a box of tissues out of our car..

The property was not clean and our room was worn out with dirty carpeting.

We went for 3 days and 2 nights with our 14 year old grandson and his friend. They had an amazing time . The entire place was super clean and the staff is so perfect. Would recommend for anyone but the younger children would be so happy.

The bathroom smelled like rotten wet towels and was filthy. The pullout had dirty sheets when we opened it up. The walls and floors are super thin. We had to make noise complaints. The water park was nice.

We enjoyed the property. Room was great. Waterpark is perfect for younger children. Only complaint is they need to clean better along the area of the lazy river. If my children were younger, we would definitely return.

They couldn’t find my reservation. Then they were suppose to contact me when my room was ready, they didn’t. Then I get up to a coffee pot full of coffee grounds and unable to use. On top of that I was placed in a room that had extremely loud air conditioners outside my room & my sight was a garbage dump. I will never stay there again.

This was our first stay at a Great Wolf Lodge and we were disappointed. The room was old (I’d expect some updates for the price), the sink didn’t drain, the tv remote didn’t work (neither did the one they replaced it with), the AC made an awful, loud rattling noise that made it hard to sleep, we found several dead mosquitos and spiders in the room, and there were stains and burn holes in the carpet. There is a large attached parking lot that they charge extra for guests to park in, and the cost of all the other extras are exorbitant, as well, including being allowed to stay in the waterpark after normal hours. I understand charging parking and extended hours for those who purchase a day pass, but those should be included for guests of the resort. I was also not a fan of their $100 per night credit hold (that cut into our available spending money) or the wristband keys, which you’re unable to remove for the duration of the stay. We expressed our experience to the front desk at checkout and were offered one free night to use within the next year. I said we likely wouldn’t be back, and the desk agent told me there wasn’t much else she could do since we booked through a third party (Expedia). I don’t normally complain, and my kids enjoyed their time which is what matters, but we will not return to Great Wolf Lodge.

Y family and I enjoyed the activities at Great Wolf and. It definitely kept the kids entertained, however, the room was less than adequate for 5 people with the bathroom much too small and the sonk being situated outside of the bathroom in the bedroom areas was mot

My family has been going to this Great Wolf Lodge location at least once a year for 8 years. Although they continue to maintain the overall experience for our children, the lodging itself has gone down hill with no renovations during those 8 years. They are now charging $19 per night for parking and have removed microwaves from all of the guest rooms with one microwave located at the end of each hall with the ice machines. Our airconditioner leaked, the DISH service wasn't working on our TV. The patio table was broken. There was a large pink stain on the wall. There was a potato chip on one of the main stairwells when we arrived on Sunday and it was still there when we left on Wednesday. My point is what once felt like a DIsney type experience as deteriorated. Couple that with the blatant money grab of charging for parking when you have a dedicated lot for your guests and now a vacation kiosk in the lobby, we are more likely to move on to Kalahari. The entertainment staff is still great but everything is more like it was at Castaway Bay when we stopped going there.

Room was very small for 6 for that price range bathroom you can barely move in it was so small I just feel like I over payed for a room that was entirely to small, it wasn’t worth over 700 for a weekend we were very uncomfortable

The room and carpeting was older. The beds were comfortable. The microwave and ice machine was a floor and hike away. Your prices are very steep. Every staff member we spoke to was friendly.

I booked this room for a business trip due to other hotels in the area being full. I really wouldn’t recommend it for business. It’s pretty loud and noisy, but it’s cantered for little kids, so that’s understandable.

The check in took almost a half hour. It was very disorganized. The room itself was okay. The best were disgusting. They offered no sort of compensation. It was not a good experience what so ever.

Loved the waterpark and extra things to do. Front desk service was rude. Wanted to only give me 4 bands when my room maxed out at 6 and we had 6 staying. We ended up getting the two the next day, same guy still rude. Tile in the bathroom floor was damaged on arrival with groute missing and one tile wobbled. Like many places, they have a hold for damages so, I'd just check thoroughly because I assume the damages weren't already noted as they said theyd "make a note." Fire alarm went off while cold out and people in the Waterpark and entire building had to shuffle outside and stand in the cold rain (i understand not their fault)...just really stunk to have no contingency in place for cold. Room service never brought towels or took old ones until we asked and then, again front desk and housekeeping were rude.

The room was not ready when we arrived but the manager quickly made sure it was ready and offered a complementary late check out and discounted second night stay. The staff was all very friendly and helpful.

The staff were terrible. This was our first time and didn’t know everything. I got yelled at the first 10 minutes in the water park! There was maybe 2 staff members made for the job and was nice. I spent a lot of money to be disappointed. I will never return to that location!

Wonderful staff, lots to do!

Took a long time to check in because they could not find any record of the Expedia reservations. Luckily they had open rooms and were able to accommodate but next time I will book directly through the hotel to avoid issues.

Great little family getaway! Went with out 5yo + 2yo, stayed at the kid cabin room. Great room set up to be a little separated from the kids at night. Easy check in and text message system. Lots of fun activities for the kids during the day. Kids loved the waterpark and arcade. Decent food options, we ate at all the different places

It was good, only thing is it’s too expensive. A bottle of water and a small bottle of orange juice costs $12. Snd they showed option for tip, really? Parking was $15 a day on top. They did’nt give us any parking tag. Other than that kids hsd fun, I wish there was more food option for Asian people.

The Bad: They charge $19 a day for parking IN THEIR LOT! They also put a $100 a day hold charge on your card per day (you should have it refunded 5-7 business days after you leave...it's in case of incidental issues in your room). Also, I never had Housekeeping ask if we needed anything...towels, soap, beds made - anything. Also, that the Waterpark and pools close at 8pm - that's kinda early, especially since quiet time isn't until 11pm. The Good: The Queen sized beds were very comfy! The staff were friendly in the hallway and in passing. It seems like they had a lot for younger kids. There was Ice Cream, Food, a Shop, an Arcade, Water Park and Bowling Alley all in the hotel.

Would benefit from additional dining options and updated rooms.

Clean room, wish they had more healthy food options but it was still convenient! Great overall experience and will be back

The staff is great, very helpful, friendly and welcoming but the systems seem to work against them. We went downstairs to grab food just to come back up to our room and discover that we had been locked out. I had to go to the front desk and our food was cold by the time that was solved. Also the dining credits did not apply properly so I was charged again and now have to wait 7-10 days for a refund. The guests above us let a cooler drain onto our balcony for 12 hours, the fireplace in our room did not work, we had to pay for parking and the water park doesn’t really have a lot to offer. Overall the experience here is not worth the price you’ll pay.

just clean up better, i mean, it definitely could be cleaner! an the restaurant sucks! food is trash! Waterpark is great! literally why we come.

Kids had a great time, the cost of food is outrageous

Took a mini family vacation and this was the perfect place. Everything was very clean, staff was friendly, food and drink options were great and overall the facility was enjoyable for all ages. We will be back!
