The upstairs bed pillow had hairs on it and a bottle cap in the sheets. Hottub was just warm and dirty. No jets running little kids in it splashing no policy for that Very hard to reach someone regarding anything. Smelled like puke behind steps and our room key did not work the 2nd day but nobody in office to tell

The room had an odor which we noticed right away. Then the toilet bowl definitely had not been cleaned for a while. The carpeting had so many stains so should be replaced or scrubbed. The pool had a black ring around the bottom and needs to be addressed. The island had a scheduled power outage from 4am til 12pm and there was no back up generator to run lights or air conditioning. We therefore could not shower in the morning.

Basic property in a nice location. This is a two- story motel style lodging. I'm not sure what resort refers to. There is a hot tub and pool that weren't open because it was before season. It has a small deck on the lake across the street. This is an older, dates property that's well maintained with nice grounds. Onsite staff is minimal. You'll have to call an offsite call center for most things. It is the only motel style lodging on the island.

We loved the room with three queens and the view was fabulous!! We are definitely re-booking before end of summer. They even accommodated storing our electric bikes!!! So nice staff! The “only” annoying thing was a loud noise from pool filter nonstop….was hard to tolerate with the beautiful setting 🙁

Being on Lake Erie is very nice. Kelleys island is quaint and well worth a visit. Interior is in need of updates and new carpeting. Lighting is very poor, especially around the pool. Understaffed. Bicycles used to be available here and bugs used to be swept from the exterior by former owner of property.

On arrival our room wasn't ready due to the fact of only 1 person working. She had it ready in about 20 minutes though. The exterior needs a good power wash. Room size was great. Bed was harder than I would like.

The Venture Resort has a great location, comfortable rooms and a nice pool and hot tub, and we’ve stayed here a number of times over the years. However, over the past two years there’s been a noticeable decline in the upkeep of the grounds, the building exterior and the hotub and pool. The building exterior, stairwells and balcony chairs were covered in bugs, the once lovely grounds looked neglected, the large pool area had very worn furnishings with only one umbrella and the pool and hot tub were quite dirty. It was sad to see this once beautiful property looking so run down. On the flip side, the Venture Resort still has it’s great location, our room was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly.

The staff was friendly and accomodating, and we didn't voice any concerns due to the short nature of our stay, but I will say this. Others have observed a lack of light in the suites, and that still appears to be the case. To make the suites more functional a bathroom should be added to the second floor. There needs to be working fans in the shower area. Cleaning staff covered most of the bases but left debris in some places, didn't clean out the coffee maker or ice bucket, etc. Both the vending machine and ice machine were out of order, but staff accomodated the later with a bag of ice in their freezer. In general some updates would go a long way, which is why I didn't give it five stars but we enjoyed our visit overall.

The first room we had booked was not cleaned. They did give us another room. The TV didn’t work, the bathroom door was difficult to close and the seemed like it could have been cleaned better. I expected for 2 nights so much more for $700

The room was very spacious and slept up to six in real beds. We loved that there was a separate upstairs with two beds, large closet and sitting area. The location was super convenient to both town and the West Bay Inn for sunsets.

We stayed in April for the eclipse, so it was preseason. I would love to come visit during the summer when the island will be in full swing. The accommodations are a bit dated but clean, and in a great location with a biew of the lake.

The hotel is right on the lake with pool and lake views from every room. It’s clean, has friendly staff, & everything you need. Great location. My kids loved it. Will be back!

What a great value offseason. Lovely room, convenient to the ferry etc. Not a lot of staff onsite given the season but it was all good!

We arrived to check in at 3:45 and there was not a soul in the office for us to check in. Then when we went to check out a day early, because the entire island was pretty much closed for the season. We checked out at 7:15, again, not a sole in the office and the lights were all out and doors locked. We left our key cards in the room and left. Hope they realized we checked out on Saturday and don't charge us extra days. It said to drop the keys off in the office upon checking out, but that is kind of hard to do when the office is closed and locked. We definitely won't be back!

Cleaning staff covered most of the bases but left debris in some places, didn't clean out the coffee maker or ice bucket, etc. Both the vending machine and ice machine were out of order, but staff accomodated the later with a bag of ice in their freezer. In general some updates would go a long way, which is why I didn't give it five stars but we enjoyed our visit overall.

We enjoyed our resort room so much that we booked an extra night‼️Our room was very large and comfortable and our view was perfect. Management was extra nice and accommodating from check in to check out. We look forward to staying here again.

We loved our stay. Our hotel room was PERFECT in every way. The water was across the street and we enjoyed sitting in the adirondack chairs watching the waves. I would definitely recommend Kelleys Island Venture Resort to friends and family.

It has a small deck on the lake across the street. This is an older, dates property that's well maintained with nice grounds. Onsite staff is minimal. The room was very spacious and slept up to six in real beds. We loved that there was a separate upstairs with two beds, large closet and sitting area. The location was super convenient to both town and the West Bay Inn for sunsets.

Being on Lake Erie is very nice. Kelleys island is quaint and well worth a visit. Interior is in need of updates and new carpeting. Lighting is very poor, especially around the pool. Understaffed. Bicycles used to be available here and bugs used to be swept from the exterior by former owner of property.

I love everything about this place, the view, accessibility to near by restaurants, rooms were huge, and the most important and awesome thing was the best sunset views I have ever saw is just 30 meters away from my room

We stayed in April for the eclipse, so it was preseason. I would love to come visit during the summer when the island will be in full swing. The accommodations are a bit dated but clean, and in a great location with a biew of the lake.

I like the mile walk to town in the morning when it’s quiet and calm next to the lake. The entire island is relaxing with great restaurants, yummy perch and walleye bites at the Village Pump. I would return in a minute. Looking forward to going again.
