There was absolutely terrible elevator access. Could take 20 minutes up or down from top floors and there was no room for anyone below 10th floor. Great location though. BE SURE TO ASK FOR A 3RD FLOOR ROOM unless all the elevators are actually working!

Clean and quiet room, excellent location in midtown. Didn’t experience long waits for an elevator noted in previous reviews. Valet/self parking offered by hotel is several blocks away. So I just parked in a nearby garage around the corner on 8th avenue. It was a little challenging getting in that garage so next time I would park in the garage on 49th street in the same building as hotel. Will stay again

I like the Belvedere. Its location is great for a Broadway theater going weekend. The rooms are surprisingly large for a NY tourist hotel. The bathrooms are nice - great shower. My only complaint is that one of the central elevators was under “modernization” and it took forever to get an elevator. Even with the two service elevators available to guests - they were busy and slow, too.

HIDDEN FEE UPON CHECK-IN FOR "FACILITIES" usage. They charge you an extra 21 dollars a night to use "facilities" when their water fountains don't work, the gym is smaller than your bedroom, and I can't even tell you what they even have for facilities, and they can't either.

I really loved this property. The staff were very personable. Parking was easy via the valet. I was able to store our luggage following for a final day in the city. The rooms were large, especially by New York standards and the architecture was beautiful with the pre-war components such as the flooring, the elevator, the brass mail shoot I loved it all.

Got the job done in a very hot NYC heatwave! AC worked great and was perfect for the area…. BUT. The cleanliness was definitely lacking. Extremely dirty grout in the shower, filthy ventilation as well, caked in dust. Mysterious stains/marks on the runner on the bed. Both of the main elevators hardly worked the whole time but luckily there were others as we were on the 14th floor. We didn’t have a door hanger our whole trip but luckily weren’t bothered by housekeeping and just communicated while in the halls. Felt so bad for them in the warmer halls though, sweating like crazy.

Was met by long line at check in although it moved fairly fast. The room itself was a decent size however, bathroom faucets missing facades, no curtains to block out light, only a pull down blind that does not block out the light. My husband used bathroom in the middle of the night and was met by a cockroach in the sink! GROSS! Only two elevators that are both INSANELY small and VERY slow (we waited 10+ mins for the elevator during our check out)

We were shocked by how dirty our room and bathroom were when we arrived. There was a lot of hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower and red spatters in the toilet. The secondary shower head was covered in mold. Most of the surfaces in the room were dirty and the chair had crumbs all over it. After checking in, we called down to ask if they could clean the bathroom while we went out. When we returned, there was still a bunch of hair on the bathroom floor and shower and red spatters in the toilet, but they had put cleaner in the toilet bowl. I’m concerned this means that this indicates that this wasn’t a one off, but that the hotel’s sanitary standards are low. Luckily the beds were clean, but we had to go out and get Lysol wipes to clean all the surfaces. Alf of the fixtures were old. Chipped wallpaper, towels and curtains coming apart, and the toilet creaked and shook when you sat on it, making you worry that it would break. The folks at reception desk always seemed to be annoyed when we talked with them, even at check in. And there was a surprise $45 charge on check out. Great location, but the cleanliness really destracted from our trip.

There seemed to be a significant amount of hair in my hotel room bathroom. It was piled on the shower drain! It was on the bathroom floor and shower stall floor! There were stains on the bedding as well as on the woodwork in the room like something was spilled.

To our horror we found bed bugs. We noticed this on our 3rd and final night. We notified management immediately, 3am to be exact, we were moved into a new room but my husband was severely bitten. We have NEVER experienced this before. We were told our stay would be refunded and someone from Management would follow with us on Monday, since we checked out on a Saturday. The staff was as helpful as they could be under the circumstances but we never got a follow up from management and I had to follow up on our refund on Tuesday. We learned a hard lesson, inspect the bed first! This was an unfortunate occurrence and can happen anywhere. pros: convenient location Cons: rugs in the room (I do not like rugs myself as it can trap more germs)

I had a very large corner king room.SO lucky for NYC. Its just an older hotel it really needs to be modernized a bit. The drapes dont close and the blinds dont close. The tiny kitchentte had no dishes, cutlery nothing. No coffee/hot water nothing. Best water pressure! Just needs brightening up. SO grateful for all the elevators as there were loads of people there that week i was there.

The location was excellent and just a couple of blocks from Times Square. It is an older hotel and so some things about it are just because it is older. The elevators are slow and small. All of the outlets in our room were loose. Our charges just fell out of them. We tried every outlet and they were all loose. The rooms were spacious by New York standards. There were no coffee pots in the rooms which I would have liked. I felt it is reasonably priced for NY. So, I would stay there again.

The location was good for theater access, the room was clean. Nice to have free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the morning, in the lobby. The only issue is that the hotel is older and had a plug in, through the window, very loud A/C unit. We turned it off. On top of that it rained and the rain poured on the A/C unit. Also very loud… Unfortunate. Now I know.

Chose this hotel for its convenient location close to Broadway and Times Square. Stayed for 2 nights in a corner room on the 14th floor. Discovered 1 of 3 windows was missing a screen and could open completely due to a broken latch and broken safety clasps. When unlocked, the top portion slid down on its own, and the bottom portion wobbled in place. The privacy shade on another window fell off the wall too. Maintenance was very polite and addressed both issues within 2 hours of my calling guest services. I could not find any individual climate controls within the room, let alone any air vents other than in the bathroom. While the room was clean, it smelled old and dusty and city fumes occasionally permeated the room.

My experience at the Belvedere Hotel was deeply disappointing and troubling. Check in was too slow with a long line and only two staff at front desk. One had a problem finding information on her computer and distracted the other staff member creating a 5 minute delay in moving the line. This was really awful totally ignored the customers.

The hotel & room was fine however the front desk clerk (Mohammad” ) was rude, short snippy answers, never looked at you, refused early checkin which caused many people sitting a lying around the couches in the lobby waiting for rooms. Very unaccomidating

All the doormen and cleaners are EXCELLENT. They are always ready to grant any request, give you more linens, and keep you safe on the street. The front desk is also wonderful welcoming you and giving you a late checkout. All of this is much appreciated and that is why we always keep coming back.

The hotel facility is fairly nice, and the surrounding area is ideal. Unfortunately, my service experience was less than ideal. I had just arrived in the middle of the night after weather storms delayed my travel by many hours. I was exhausted and requested a slightly later check out time. Sadly, staff was inflexible and dismissive of my request despite my obvious exhaustion. I am not sure I will stay again, if this is the concept of customer service.

Horrible service. I never write reviews but this time i had too. I arrived at noon from my 9hr flight very sick. They said that no rooms were available until 4pm. So i waited and when i went and asked an hour later they are like if you pay 100$ we can get you a room now. Later I called for water they said they could not deliver water. When i asked the next day for a taxi instead of sending me a regular cab they booked a private driver for 100$ to LGA. Better hotels for the same price with decent service!

We will definitely be back!! Perfect location to be in walking distance to Times Square, Broadway and Central Park! We felt like we were nearby the action yet enough away that it wasn’t crazy. LGA was only about a 20 minute Uber. The hotel staff was friendly, rooms were spacious and clean! We will definitely be back!

This hotel combines old world charm with all of the conveniences that the modern traveller expects. It is walkable to everything you may need, including a tremendous variety of dining options and bodegas on every corner. It is merely steps away from all forms of public transportation. This hotel offers affordable room rates, yet has amenities that are all too rare these days, such as daily room cleaning. I’ve read the reviews and can attest to the fact that they listen to their customers and fix the issues that are raised. Once you’ve experienced all that the Belvedere has to offer there is nowhere I’d rather stay when in NYC.

I always stay here on my trips to NYC because it’s in a great location, the rooms (and hotel) are clean and comfortable and the theaters and restaurants are all close by. I only wish they would put coffee makers back in the rooms that they took out during the pandemic.

Room was clean and bathroom very nice it looks as if the room has been recently renovated. We were on the 14th floor. Everyone is friendly Janet at the front desk assisted to book another night. The coffee clutch is great in the morning and the woman who runs it is so very efficient and makes sure the coffee runs steadily.

Bar is private restaurant , so unable to get a cocktail if restaurant closed, this was not made clear when researching site. Room somewhat dark, few mirrors, so when getting ready difficult with several of us doing this at same time for theater. Staff was friendly. I would not choose this hotel for myself in future, but there are certain amenities I enjoy when travelling and not offered.

The property was clean and in an excellent location. We were able to stash our bag in the hotel before check in so we did not have to carry them all day. However there was no breakfast, they only had coffee and tea.
