Extended Stay America Select Suites - Detroit - Novi - Haggerty Road

Never in my life have a seen a hotel that doesn't operate 24hrs! They had a garage door over front desk as they closed at 10pm and I checked in from out of town at 1am. They need to call worker to come down then he gave me a key to an occupied room. Next day the garage door was down at 9am, wild stuff!

No dishes any more. No pots or pans. Nothing. You have to buy them. lol No hand towels. No dish towels or dish cloth or dish soap. 1 bar of soap to do everything. No night clerk at a location that is known to be loud. You have to PAY to exchange your towels. Per room there is a bath mat, 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths. The stove top took 10 minutes to heat up and then would fry an egg. A worker walked right into our room without knocking. This place used to be a happy place. Now it is a sad shell of a hotel. Oh… the one luggage cart has 2 flat tires. The other doesn’t steer. Stop with the select stay and go back to what you were. What a joke.

I wish they didn’t charge you to use pots and pans.

We stayed eight days and it's nice to have a kitchenette with stovetop, microwave and full size refrigerator, plus a separate sink for cleaning up. Be aware that linens and towels only get changed every two weeks unless you pay extra. The hotel only provides bath towels and wash cloths, no hand towels.

Need a ice machine

No coffee pot in room or hotel. No drinking glasses in room. No shampoo. No Kleenex. No one at checkout counter in the morning. Gentleman checking us in was very nice and accommodating. Hotel was very dated, room was clean. Overall it served the purpose of a good night’s sleep and shower.

People getting high in the parking lot. No attendant at the front desk after 10 pm.

They nickel and dime you every time gig turned around $29.00 for pots and pans abs 19.99 for silverware. I bar of soap in the room. No way of washing the dishes. Towels were too small. It says pet friendly but never mentioned about a 26.00 pet fee

They advertise hardwood floors and kitchen amenities which they had neither. No ice machine and nothing to help take your luggage to your room. Also they charge you 1.75 if you need extra towels. The good thing is they’re pet friendly. It’s a quiet neighborhood with dining and shopping area.

Checked in at 6:30pm on the 24th, left immediately for business, returned to the room @ 10:30pm to find no remote for tv. Called the front desk got central booking, was informed front desk was closed and individual on premises wasn't responding. I departed the hotel at 9am on the 25th, the front desk was closed. Returned @ 3:30pm, Dewayne was working the front desk, after 2 visits and 2 remotes that were inoperable I went back a 3rd time, Jackie was working, she had me waiting while she entertained a cell phone call regarding her car that wasn't working, after sometime she asked what I needed, after explaining the situation she indicated her inability to resolve the issue and gave me 2 more remotes that were also inoperable. I sat in my room while not working the total stay disturbed at the service received. The ads on the tv for Extended Stay indicated free breakfast which was never seen.

I don’t even know what to say. I arrive at 9:30pm. I wait in the lobby (if you can call it a lobby) for 10 minutes and nobody is there. No bell, nothing. So I follow the directions and I call the number in the phone. And someone came up to help me. They explained that there was no frills, nothing extra. I go to my room which was clean. Except the extremely nasty black mold covered refrigerator. And I do not know what kind of black ash was all over the inside of the freezer. But I was in on business and knew I wouldn’t be there long. The furniture was so run down and beaten up with patches on the lounge chair. I never once felt safe there. The next night I walk in the gate is down and there was so many sketchy things going on in the parking lot I actually considered leaving. I left the next morning and of course you can not check out because the gate is closed. So I guess I should have known what kind of place this was. This place is scary!

Clean and friendly staff

The room wasn’t clean. The bed had sheets on it from past guests. The back of the toilet was very dirty. The room had a bad bad smell.

Room was but cleaned properly. Hair in the tub and sink. Floors were not swept. Also did not smell like it was cleaned with any cleaning products.

It was not so good, the second worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in. People actually live there and slow elevators. Remote to tv did not work, you have to go all the way downstairs to call for assistance after 10pm instead of from your room. Front desk was ghetto , unprofessional, taking there sweet time, halls stink, sink dirty, I was scared to even sleep.

Location was convenient. Room not clean...counters sticky, mirrors dirty, dirty tub/shower area, tooth paste splashes in sink, brown smudges on refrigerator, stove and counter.

My room smelled like cigarettes, asked for a different room and 2nd also smelled very bad. Till the 3rd, was a bit better. But the hotel in general has a very bad smell and is very dirty

Very dirty environment. Didn’t even want to use the shower because of how gross it looked. Needs to be renovated and updated

Dirty

A bit dirty, a lot of hairs from previous guests around the room. Only one cart for all the occupants in hotel, just takes one guest to hoard it in their room and everyone has to lug everything themselves.

It wasn’t a bad stay. The hallways were kind of smelly and the shower curtain rod is hung wrong in the room. Other than that the stay was fine.

Needs maintenance for furniture, fixtures and plumbing.

The rooms were in need of upgrades.

Other than the red stain on my carpet in the room, everything else was fine. Quiet and clean for my short stay

No chair to sit and eat in the room , also no chair for the desk to work on computer. Windows had cobwebs like the room wasn’t used for a while Dirty counters as well

It is run down and really needs updated. Holes in the walls, the countertop in the bathroom was pulled away from the wall. The outlet covers were smaller than the hole in the wall. The elevators were dirty. I gave it 2 stars because they didn’t have bedbugs. Definitely do not recommend.

The bed was comfortable, which was the overall most important issue, didn’t really get that hotel quality feel from this stay. Wouldn’t really recommend for short stays. Place might be better if one was going to be there for a few days.

I chose this property because it’s listed non smoking a lot of folks disregard that and smoke everything in their rooms and that smoke affects those of us who don’t as comes to the rooms

The bed and pillows were comfortable. Good dish network tv with 2 show time channels. No hair dryer which I needed desperately. The hallways and doors to the rooms looked kind of shabby. Not what I’m used to in nicer hotels. No paper towels, dishes or and dish soap. You have to bring all your own kitchen supplies. They allow pets and there was a room on the third floor that smelled terrible. I don’t know what’s going on in that room but it smells up the hallway by the elevator. The hotel staff at the front desk where extremely nice and professional.

Maintenance required inside room and all over outside. Internet and shower flow should be improved.

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and climate set to comfortable levels even before i occupied it. Front dest staff were all so nice.

Our refrigerator didn’t work, our card was deactivated, and also the lady at the front desk was extremely rude

had reservation but when I got there they told me my room had been give to someone else. I showed my confirmation from expedia and was told they don't honor that. If someone comes in and needs a room they give it to them regardless of reservation. Will never stay here again and highly recommend you stay away from this property.

They key card machine was broken, they did not check us in. Had to find another hotel when we arrived

Friendly staff, a bit rundown but clean and quiet, hot shower, comfortable bed, close to gas stations and restaurants.

The room was clean. The hotel needs updating. The front desk was not open when I checked out at 9 which was a little strange. The room only had 2 washcloths and one had something on it. They do not provide any shampoo which would have been nice. Overall the property was sufficient for a one niggt stay.

Upon our arrival we were informed by 2 very peasant young men behind the counter (this is the only indication that they work there as they were wearing every day street clothing not wearing any type of uniform or dress clothes, or even name tags) of several changes in reduced services and increased costs. How do you offer less and charge more??!! No more so called breakfast, breakfast was a joke anyway but they also no longer offer coffee and tea in lobby in the morning but also don’t have enough small coffee pots to have one in the room. They now charge to use pots, pans, dishes, cups, and silverware. Now you get only 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths for 2 people, no hand towels, dish cloth, or dish towel. The refrigerator is rusty and leaking water, the wall by the eating area was dirty the countertop was broken, carpet had holes and was dirty along the baseboards, picture in the bathroom was dirty and dusty. There are no garbage cans at the end of the hallway they expect you to carry your trash out to the dumpster yourself. This establishment has gone downhill and is rundown. We will not be staying at any of these properties in the future.

The room was clean. We enjoyed having the kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable. For the most part it was quiet. Only heard loud footsteps above us for small periods of time. There was always someone at the desk for checkins and checkouts. Only issue was the Expedia site said there would be breakfast and coffee available in the lobby and there was not.

From the moment my partner and I showed up no one could be bothered to act like they were pleased to serve us. During check in the clerk mumbled making it hard to understand what they said. Not once did anyone tell us what to do to check out the following morning, and because the front desk shutters were closed there wasn't anyone available to tell me where to leave the room key. And they don't serve breakfast anymore even though it says they do on the website.

Location is great! Staff was friendly! Breakfast no longer provided, halls were dirty, foyers smelled like garbage juice of rotten food and sidewals were covered in it too. Not well kept or updatedso you can really feel the age and run down ness.

Pretty run down. Clean enough but not even shampoo in the room. No coffee maker so really substandard. There was a giant spider alive and well in the window (inside) so that just speaks to how little care they put into it. Overall not terrible, but would never recommend.

Dishes, coffee pot all that stuff you need to ask for at front desk but is supplied if you want it in your room. Full sz fridge, microwave, two burner stove, sm sink, generous kitchen counter top, and table w/ chairs. Its basicly a studio apartment. Will definitely stay at again.
