The hotel is under construction. Over the weekend, that was manageable. We had to walk to the Hilton Garden Inn for breakfast. On Monday, 10/12, the water was completely cut off. We were not informed ahead of time to plan accordingly. No water between 10 am to 4. Unacceptable. The air conditioner in my room 319 was not usable due to loud, unusual notices. The two chairs in entrance (not even a lobby) were not available due to Halloween skeletons taking them. No where to sit. How can a hotel shut off water for 6 hours?? One or two hours with sufficient PRIOR NOTICE perhaps, but 6 hours without any notice? Bad. I would not recommend or return to this hotel.

Hotel was being renovated, but it did not ever tell me that when I was making the reservation. There was some noise late from revelers and some from construction. I arrived Thursday and left Sunday. On Saturday around 1245 in the afternoon, some hotel employee just keyed open my door and entered without any knock or warning. I was sitting on the couch watching football. I found it very unsettling. He said that he thought it was a checkout day room, but nothing anywhere indicated that. I do not believe he was entering to steal, etc, but was likely just careless.

The check in process took much longer than expected. The clerk mumbled something and finally gave me a key. The key did not work and I had to return to the front desk. When I finally got inside my room it wasn’t what I had booked. As a single business traveler I don’t need 2 queen beds. The bed was ok but it’s important to sleep through the night without earplugs. There is a very active freight train line nearby. While I appreciate that the hotel invests into upgrades meant that breakfast was at another hotel 1/4 mile away. I got a voucher for a free continental breakfast or half off for whatever they charge for an actual breakfast. This was not made clear when I booked. I ended up going to the nearby Dunkin as I wasn’t going to drive all the way to the other place for some pastry. I stayed at both hotels near the military base now and can’t recommend either.

The lower scores are due to the fact that there was a lot of remodeling going on. So the amenities weren’t available and there was a fair amount of finish work to be done. Otherwise my stay was very nice and the staff was great.

I wish we had known the property was being renovated before we arrived. We selected this hotel because of some of the amenities; breakfast, pool, hot, etc). Nine of which were available during our stay as the lobby was closed down. The hotel smelled of paint and was full of dust and debris from the construction that we left with awful migraines and severe congestion. Elevators were broken so we had to walk up the stairs with all of our luggage. So disappointing as we weren’t looking forward to our stay! When asked about the breakfast we were told we could get a 1/2 price voucher from the hotel down the street! Seriously! I understand that construction and renovations happen, but the hospitality and support during our stay to ease. The burden was nonexistent. Waste of money! We couldn’t wait to get out of there this morning. Not that anyone noticed when we left as there we only saw one person working when we arrived.
