I picked this hotel specifically to use the pool and hot tub. But only after I got checked in and changed and went to the did I find out it was closed for the week. Hotels.com did not have this disclosed on the website. I was not happy about this!

It's definitely an older hotel and understaffed for much service. The parking is across the street and it is hard to get your things when you check in because you can't leave your car out front. You have to wait for check in and bellhops which makes it hard to unload without being harassed by the parking attendant. They have a great snack restaurant that is open late but the others are also way understaffed. Pool is pretty but jacuzzi is not functional. Nearby hotel and casino is in walking distance. No actual riverboat available but they have a wonderful river view. It's a decent place for an overnight but not at the price in the area.

Amazing tub. But that was the extent… Several outlets in our room didn’t work. The pool was down for maintenance and that was NOT in the hotels.com listing. One light in the room didn’t work. The desk attendants were very abrupt in their speaking. Great location. Decent parking.

Travelling with 3 kids. We all liked the property. Kids wanted to swim, but the pool is 21-up. The gentleman running the bistro was awesome, and really, his aura made our night. The only real rub (other than the pool) is that you have to park in a parking garage across the street. They have a skybridge, but there is no popping down to the car to grab something real quick. It's a 10-minute ordeal. I understand this is the nature of the beast at a downtown hotel, just something to be aware of. The room was great, but the shower handle came off in my hand while turning it on. No biggie, I fixed it, but the lady at the front basically shrugged when I told her during checkout the next morning. Price was good, but I wish there was an area overlooking the river that doesn't require accessing the casino (no kids allowed). Overall, we'd stay here again. All 3 kids said this was their favorite of the 3 hotels on our road trip.

The good: there is plenty of self parking in a parkong deck aross feom the hotel and the checkin process was quick and painless. The bad: this hotel is dirty. I didnt conplain becauae the inconvenience of finding a new place to stay would have been too much for me so I just dealt with it. I was only here for 2 days for a family member's graduation. Anyway, I have to assume that if the bed doesnt look used that they dont change the sheets because even tho it was just me i always get 2 queen beds. I sleep in 1 one night and the other the next well the 2nd day of my stay comes and I go to fix my covers and the bed literally smells like straight urine. No stains or anything but someone for sure peed on that bed and it was not cleaned. Carpet stains everywhere, chairs are stained, other people's hair still in the tub. No microwave and the cabinet holding the fridge has been chewed up by who knows what. I'd never stay there again.

The room was large and nicely furnished but lacked the cleanliness I would expect from a higher end room. Most of the common areas were nice but since i was charged a resort fee, I thought I should try the pool. The area was very dirty. There were cigarette butts everywhere. I exited quickly and was quite disappointed. Additionally the valet service was not available when I arrived and they stated that the carts were only available to bellhops who were also not visible. I needed more towels and called housekeeping several times, and was never able to get through. The showerhead was not as good as it needed to be and the tub did not drain well. However, overall my stay was good. Those staff that were available were friendly and kind. I remember one of the chefs interacting with a young child in the lobby. He was very nice. Would I stay there again? Not at the price I paid.

Would have been nice to have a couple of chairs to be able to sit in while watching tv. There was a chair for the desk area but not a comfortable chair to lounge in. Sitting on the side of the bed to watch tv doesn’t work. There was plenty of room in the room for a couple of chairs.

The staff was amazing. Ok, maybe they could be a little mor forthcoming regarding other dining options and/or things people have never stayed at thei facility should know (i.e., where to park). Rooms need to be updated. They were clean, but old (carpet needs a good deep cleaning and the mattresses were hard).

Front desk female staff were awful and rude. Our check out time was 1100. My husband went to drop our belonging to the truck while we got ready for a funeral. When he went to the elevator to go back to the room, they had already deactivated the room card and would not reinstate the card until I went down stairs with our toddler on my hip all because his name was not on the check in when I was the one who made the reservations and they had called to the room and I approved and gave them his name. After that it took them 4 times to activate the card correctly and accused us of not knowing how to use the card in the elevator. Then walked away and flipped her hair and mumbled words under her breath. The hotel was nice, but they could definitely use better staff.

The valet was closed on a Saturday, the busiest night of the week for downtown casinos. I have a big truck that doesnt fit in the parking garage and the bell hop wasn't very helpful on accommodations for a solution. And laughed when i said my truck can't fit in the garage. However, the overall stay was nice. The check in was quick and easy and staff was very helpful and super nice. Aside for the bell hop

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The covered parking was wonderful with temperature controlled sky bridge, don't worry about rain. Within walking distance to aquarium, convention center, farmer's market and several retaurants (moderately walkable if you can do 4-8 blocks). Our room was not serviced at all (no trash removal, bed made, towels, cleaning, etc.) until I asked 4 days in. This surprised me as we were staying for 5 nights (I accumulated extra trash onto dresser top). No microwave in room so don't plan to warm up your left overs the next day, there is a bar refrigerator. I'd understand if it was a shorter stay. Cleaned the bathroom floor myself, which is not how I want to spend my vacation time. Others in our group had service daily, so I don't know why this was overlooked. Otherwise I would give 4 stars. Property is a little dated, but not too much. It was quiet with no train or airplane noise to speak of. The coffee and ice cream bar area was a great place to grab something quickly. The new coffee equipment was not operational so only brewed coffee, no specialty coffee available yet. Could have been better and could have been worse. Was given an upgrade to a suite and extended check out time (not sure why) - that might explain the housekeeping snafu. For price point property was good. People in all of Shreveport were very friendly.

Absolutely never again. Dangerous area, sketchy people roaming around outside. Valet is closed after 11 pm, so if your flight is late, or you get caught in traffic, you’ll end up having to drag your luggage over a dark crosswalk of drunk people. No security, extremely sketch. I rarely write reviews but I’d rather sleep in the car. We just left and drove another hour away and found something that was safe. STAY AWAY

We were passing through Shreveport and made a last minute decision to stay in town for a night. We found a great rate for Sam’s Town and thought why not. Wow - for what we paid we had a fantastic room - hence the 5 stars. It was a big room on the 19th floor with a great King Size bed that was really comfortable and a big open seating area and bathroom. Went to the pool in the evening then could walk around the area for dinner and the river walk for sunset. Staff was very friendly and helpful

Staff was great, especially explaining what we could expect while there. Disappointed overall as we stayed thru the week and it's definitely a weekender's casino. Only the snack shop was open Monday & Tuesday, no other restaurants. Most of the areas were closed until the weekend and even then, they were closed until evening hours. The bonus was the adult pool with bar - it was open normal hours.

Hotel was great!! Room very clean and comfortable! Staff was extremely friendly, and great at check in/out. Had a pizza from the coffee/deli place, it was terrific, and my coffee the next morning was great also! The hotel itself was fine, but many of the staff seem disengaged, and while they weren't rude, that clearly didn't enjoy interacting with customers. As far as I could tell, only one restaurant, the cafe, and the lobby bar were operating, with three resturaunts and the convenience shop shutters behind gates. On Sunday night, the lobby bar wasn't even open, and the resturaunt and cafe closed at 9PM. When I discussed my dissatisfaction with the front desk in the morning that they were charging full price for Sunday when everyrhing was shut down, they said they couldn't offer me any credit for that night because I booked through Hotels.com. Ultimately, if you just need a place to sleep in downtown Shreveport for a few nights, it's clean, but too expensive for what you get.
