Holiday Inn Shreveport Downtown by IHG

I liked that all of the rooms were located inside the building. I didn’t like the limited parking space around the immediate hotel; however, there is a parking structure behind the hotel.

Hotel needs update, elevator equipment room very noisy, shower soap dispenser empty. No breakfast, courtesy coffee dispenser empty. Parking crowded.

Room was not ready at checkin time. Ice machine doesn’t work and parking is not good.

One of two elevators was not working, there were no luggage carts available when checking in and checking out, was told to go look for one on the floors. I am in my 70's and I had to carry my luggage from the parking lot to my room and back. Check-in was advertised as 3 pm but would not allow anyone to check-in until 4. This caused a long wait at check-in.No refrigerator, carpet floor was dirty and appeared to not have been vacuumed. Mold on shower. Most hotels offer free breakfast-this hotel didn't even have free coffee or any other grab-and-go breakfast food. For $150 a night this stay was a rip-off.

The shuttle service was really helpful to us.

This is an affordable hotel close to the downtown attractions. The parking lot is cramped and tight.

Great staff! Check in and every interaction with the staff here, especially Richlyn, has been excellent! With the dangerous weather conditions, a lot of staff were unable to get to work. I think Richlyn worked every poaition in the hotel over a 72 hour period! The available shuttle was also really helpful to a traveling cyclist!

The stay was fine but the parking was an issue. Customer service was great 👍

Everything was clean. Telephone did not work and the ice machine on 2nd and 3rd floors did not work. We were without any type of ice.

The evening I arrived I had no television service for the first night. Then to top that off, I was awaken around 3am the last night I was there by bed bugs.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn and had an extremely disappointing experience. The room was far from clean – there was a noticeable unpleasant smell, and to make matters worse, I was bitten by bedbugs. My children were not happy with the condition of the room either, as it felt uncomfortable and unkempt. For a well-known hotel chain, I expected much better standards. Cleanliness and comfort should be a top priority, and unfortunately, that wasn’t the case during our stay. I hope the hotel management addresses these issues to prevent future guests from having a similar experience.

The front desk agent did not smile, or tell me anything about the property. When I asked if they had a suite to upgrade to he simply said "not today". The worst part is that he did not ask me for ID at anytime. At all. What??? That's completely unsafe. Then the room had drawers standing open, smelled wet and musty. Bathroom had hair in the sink and a wet washcloth on the shower rod. Carpet worn and dirty. Very dissatisfied with this stay.

Hotel experience was horrible, the rooms have mildew and carpet was soiled.

The bed was super comfortable, sheets were clean, but the room was very dirty. Curtains had several stains. The furniture had spots and crumbs on it. The floor was sticky and had visible "wet" stains by the bed. The smell was also terrible, like it was mopped with dirty mop and then they put the mop in the ac unit.

Staff was nice. Breakfast was good. Room (on first floor)was disgusting. Carpet was damp, sticky and smelled the old wet closed in space. Ceiling with yellow stains covering. Walls with buckled areas and brown stains. Shower did not drain. Bed was comfortable. Just overall a dirty disgusting feel to the room. Getting to the room required going thru a narrow hallway with multiple sharp turns. It appeared as if it was not for guests. Gym had nice set of dumbbells various weights with a nice bench and good selection of cardio equipment. There is a cable machine that is not in proper working condition. Closest ice machine was on 3rd floor and did not work. Ice machine on 4th floor worked well.

Floor was filthy smelled like mold and pee

Its was the worse!! Bugs / ants in the tub and on floor. A smelled like a old smoked out nursing home. Spots on sheets. Bug like substance on bedding. Bugs in window seals. A/C didnt cool good.

The housekeeoing staff was not helpful in cleaning up our room. We were there for 7 days and they never once stepped into our room to clean it. We had to get our own towels from them or downstairs. Didnt refill the coffee in our room, and let us know maybe they can clean our room because they are short staffed and have 150 rooms they need to clean. But im a paying customer ahd have been there for 7 days, very frustrating. Just not clean, they dont sweep or vacuum the carpets very lazy housekeeping. Front desk was helpful overall.

The property was rundown, furniture and carpet was in poor shape. Room was right over train tracks and heard the train screeching all night.

My room was right by the train bridge and there were trains traveling throughout the night. I wasn't able to rest.

Everything was great, except the WiFi info was incorrect

The floors were filthy, the bathroom was falling apart, and the beds were too tall. This hotel has the capability to be much better, needs updating.

Room was spacious and clean

There was an airconditioning drain leak into the room for both days of our stay. Maintenance could not repair until room was vacated and there were no rooms available for us to move to during our stay so had to stay in room. Carpet was soaked and could not use half the room during our stay. Desk area and sitting area were off limits due to carpet saturated, and could not get window curtains open or closed unless we sloshed through the water.

The room was dated but the bed slept super comfortable & Sammie was phenomenal at the front desk.

I got a king suit on the second floor. It was convient because it was just up the stairs from the entrance. Some of the issues were no hot water, limited water pressure. Some of the tile in the bathroom were pushed in.

The parking lot was fairly safe but did leave me with a aense of feeling unsafe. The entire hotel looked old and needed to be upgraded. It was dirty with an unkept appearance. My room was okay and clean but old.

The bed was very uncomfortable. The blinds were broke so there was no privacy. The room smelled funny. The tub wouldn’t drain while in the shower.

The day time front desk worker was extremely rude when i asked her for towels for the room. Have stayed at this hotel several times. The disappointment in the staffs rudness we will NOT be booking again.

Front desk older lady was condescending and refused to check if our room might be available as she sat back in a chair with her arms crossed. I understand we arrived 2 hours early and had no expectations of it being ready, but to not even check and display attitude the second we walked in? Seems unprofessional. The following day our room key scanner stopped working, we spent (no joke) 1 1/2 hours going up and down the elevator trying multiple keys, maintenance guy (who was very nice) trying to fix the issue, just to have it stop working again 10 minutes later. They switched us to a new room, we packed up, and the new room key also did not work, so we were back to square one. Eventually we were given (without ask, by a nice front desk guy a comp’d breakfast) for the following morning. That was a disaster of its own. Its a paid breakfast, selection is a abysmal - no pastries, no pancakes, no yogurt, not even milk for the 6 cups of cereal sitting out. Just slimey eggs, tiny curled up bacon, soggy bread smashed under the biscuits (no gravy) and potatoes. 1 thermos of coffee and that’s it. We heard other (paid) guests being given a choice upon entry of coffee or juice. That was not offered to us, so I came up to them and asked if we could have some juice, with attitude I was told I get a choice of 1 coffee or 1 juice. I told her we didn’t know nor were told. So she reluctantly went in the back and brought us each a half cup of juice. As someone who travels often, this is odd…

I liked that the hotel was right off the highway, but parking was a challenge. Your parking lot is small and tight, but I managed to find a parking spot every night. The front desk staff were friendly & helpful. Don't expect free breakfast, because the restaurant in the lobby charges for food. The hotel lobby is the nicest part of the hotel, because once you get up on the floors it takes a deep decline. The hotel is old and is in need of some serious upgrades. The hallways looked old and run down, and it smelled of cigarettes and mildew. The room was decent, even though it was a handicap room and I am far from handicap. I tried to change rooms, but was told they didn't have anymore rooms. So we just toughed it out for the 3 days we were there. Bed was comfy, bathroom towels must have went to church because they were HOLY! I've dealt with towels that had holes, so once again I toughed it out. The location of the hotel was good, close to the casinos, shopping and highway. Overall our stay was decent, and I would tell anyone that needed a 2 night or less stay to choose this hotel. 3 nights or more and I'll advise them to find better lodging.

Hotels in a great location, but the staff at the front desk was terrible. Don’t have good customer service skills at all.

This did not stand up to IHG standards. It was in need of remodeling for sure. The lobby was okay and the room was clean but that was the only thing that was passable. The carpet throughout needs to be changed; it looked old and worn. The walls were worn and in need of painting. The guy that checked us in that worked overnight was pleasant and helpful. The lady the next morning was on her cell phone while attending to guests. I went to her three times and each time, I felt like I was disturbing her. One time, she had the cell phone in one hand and the hotel phone in the other. In our room, the bathroom was a big problem for me. The toilet was angled between the sink and the shower and was not enough room. The seat was too close to the sink where the paper roll was attached. It was so close that you could bot even raise the seat without hitting it. There not enough room for a grown man to sit comfortably. As far as the shower, the curtain rod was not installed correctly so it sagged. This did not allow for the curtain to stay closed, the ends would fall to the center. The shower pressure was not strong enough so it didn’t matter if the curtain was not closing. I have pictures if there is a place to upload.

The service at the front desk was less than desirable. The staff did not smile at all. They acted like they were agitated and did not want to work. The cleaning staff were the NICEST in the entire hotel. There were several staff that hurried before us to get in the elevator, EXCEPT Rodriquez (spelling is off). He was very pleasant and had great manners. Highly recommend him to get a raise in pay. He deserves it! There was no place to get coffee. The room coffee was terrible. We asked for additional towels and they never were delivered to the hotel room.

Started off rough but the hotel staff was great at taking care of the issues.

Service was very good, booked online and when I went to check in they were mostly booked but they made sure I still got my room for the night. Highly recommended

Nice location

This hotel was near a Mardi Gras parade route which made it very convenient for us and our family to walk to the parade.

I checked in late, nighttime! I had to park way away from entrance and front lobby! I didn’t feel safe! No security!

Wonderful stay but be aware that it is by a highway and is loud.

The location of the hotel was located in a convenient location, the staff was very nice, carpets could be replaced in certain area's. Overall stay was good. Clean place to stay.

Our stay was wonderful! It was close to the event & casinos. The check in staff were amazing, friendly, & resourceful. Immediately greeted us as we walk up to the desk.

Our room was clean. The staff was nice & helpful. It was conveniently located right off the interstate, near the Shreveport MunicipalAuditorium & casinos. We would definitely book again.

Well the only downside is the breakfast I was not aware you had to pre-purchase when booking or purchase for more at the host stand! I wasn’t aware they need to make it bigger and known that was a complete bummer! Thank you

Check in was tough. Not the people but parking lot so small could not turn around a 4 door chevy truck. Had to go out and circle back around. Also bought buffet breakfast on line with our reservations. We got in there and no food so had to wait 15 for eggs and bacon. Got some to start eating and then went tiger more when other stuff but they said we can’t go though again. They said it was buffet style, not buffet. They also would not let me get orange juice because I had gotten a cup of coffee. They said only one drink.

All the staff is great! This will be my place to stay from now on! Frank, in the hotel bar, is amazing! Very friendly and never lets you get thirsty!

The carpet was very dirty. The breakfast was very limited. There was no fruit and you can only get one beverage.

I was told breakfast was not included in my stay because I reserved my room through a third party site. At breakfast, there weren’t a variety of food options available. The hotel could use some renovations because parts of the walls in certain public spaces had piling paint.

Room had a bad smell. Stains on the sheets, carpet and wall. Very low shower pressure and not cleaned properly. Breakfast no fruits at all, no access to different beverages. Had to constantly ask for coffee instead of being able to get a drink myself.

Right in downtown which was great, staff was very friendly. The room on the other hand wasn’t quite clean, but it had a great view. Breakfast was sparse and wasn’t worth purchasing the vouchers though, but again the staff in there were awesome.

There was no complimentary coffee in the foyer/dining room. I understand that there was no complimentary breakfast, but at least the hotel could make available free coffee in the foyer/dining room. Dennis jones
