Super 8 by Wyndham Columbia City

The room smelled like mold, possibly coming from the air conditioning unit. Ice machine was broken, coffee maker didn’t work and TV was not working well.

The hotel was very outdated. It was a room with 2 queen beds. One bed had a huge hole in the mattress so my husband slept in a whole the entire night. Shower rail in bathroom came out. The plug in the bathroom wasn't working so we had to take the hair dryer off of the wall and plug it in somewhere else. The closet door wasn't on the track and couldn't get it back on. The shower water backed up every time you showered.

First let me start by saying I understand mistakes happen but this was unacceptable. He charged my card no problem then says he needs a deposit so I give a different card and he tried to charge my card $211 not once but twice. The first room we was in we got locked out the battery for the door stopped working then the bathroom light went out. They moved us the next morning to a room that smelled like wet dog and we all got ate up by fleas. All night

First reason for choosing the Super 8 was location combined with price. The building shows its wear and being located in a retail/commercial district alongside a US highway, I didn't even notice the limited landscaping until the second day when the landscape grew was at work. Interior is worn but appeared generally clean. Breakfast was offered but limited to 2 dry cereals and milk, oatmeal mix in envelopes for preparation with hot water prepackaged pastries, make your own waffles, a bowl of fruit that usually included bananas, both regular and decaf coffee from a coffeemaker - which worked fine for me, and OJ (I think it was) and apple juice. WiFi worked fine though ease of access raises security questions. In room coffee maker, fridge (with small freezer compartment), and microwave. Flat screen tv with cable offerings (DirectTV I think) but no premium channels. My king bed/no smoking room was spacious if a bit darkly lit and clearly refurnished at least one or more times over the motel's life. Under the window ac unit worked fine with a steady noise level that functioned as white noise - so no banging or changes in pitch etc.

Very tidy and quiet, close to everything. The mattress was like the rest of the facility- very old and worn out, but clean. The breakfast was not edible especially the coffee. Had to get staff to help me into wi-fi. But it was super cheap. So you get what you pay for.

The gentleman at the front desk was not very friendly. When we entered our room, it reeked of smoke. He did assign us a new room that did not smell as much of smoke but was quite musty. The TV did not work. There were only two small pillows on each queen bed. There were dirty washcloths in the shower from the guests before us. Breakfast wasn’t much. Only hot foods were waffles and small packaged breakfast sandwiches that needed warmed in the microwave. The only positives from our stay was that it was affordable and the water pressure was good. I would not recommend this hotel.

Good basic property for a simple overnight stay at an economical price. No frills but clean, with good hot water, bath towels and double ply TP. Better than most low priced hotels if you just want to sleep, shower and get back on the road.

We were very pleased with our two day stay. The rooms were clean. Excellent water pressure and very affordable.

Our second time staying here. Very clean and breakfast area spotless. Was a slight problem with our room and they moved us right away with no issues. Would stay here again!

Very damp in the hotel and our room smelled like urine after the cover up smell disapated.

I'm not sure why this place rated so highly on Hotels.com. It was OK, but certainly nothing special. The place was clean and quiet. The room showed its age, and badly needs a refresh. Lighting was poor. The front desk was not manned most of the time. I had to use the phone to call them. It was just OK.

If you just want a place to stay for the night good option. The motel is old. Has a lingering smell of old carpets. The AC on the blew out old musty smell. Decent room for decent price. Not my normal type of establishment.

Bed was.uncomfortable. Sheets had balls either old or cheap. Broken light fictures and tired room.

We stay at the Super 8 every time we are in Columbia City, IN visiting relatives. The place is always fine. Definitely no frills or extras but clean and that is always my main must have. However, this time, the mattresses were definitely creaky, and the springs were felt, making the sleep a bit uncomfortable. I think room 109 needs new mattresses. :)

We are always a late check in and they're very fast and accommodating.

I stayed there twice during my last road trip. My room was clean & fresh both stays. Front desk staff was friendly.

Location is a commercial strip that extends for a couple of miles alongside the highway and an access/service road that links most of them. So mostly pavement, buildings, roadway, and traffic are the view. This appears to be one of the older motels in the vicinity though also lower priced than the others.

The room was nice had everything we needed, we only slept there do to busy schedule. Ws at a convenient location off the main highway 😊

The beds were a little firm for me but in great codition. Breakfast was ok but waffles are a miss. Great coffee!! Very convient to the area around Columbia City and near Ft Wayne.

For a budget hotel, it was clean, with easy access on and off the highway

I was pleasantly surprised with my room rental for my sons wedding. As someone who doesn’t travel frequently, I was pleased with how friendly the staff were, as well as how attentive they were in regards to lodging accommodations as a whole ( earlier check in and later checkout, etc.). If I were in Columbia, City again, I would stay here. Additionally, it is very close to many eateries, gas stations, and grocery stores.

Simple, basic overnight stay. There was a spot on the ceiling that was missing the textured paint, but room was otherwise clean and comfortable. There wasn't much selection at breakfast and the coffee was weak.

Best priced hotel with decent ratings in the area. Yes, it is in need of some updates, but it ia clear that they try their best to keep the rooms clean. The breakfast options are slim, so dont expect a buffet.
