Very beautiful and clean! The hot tub was my favorite. You can rent volleyballs etc for free in the front desk

Kona Coast Resort is a great place to stay. The grounds and buildings are very well kept. We particularly enjoyed the on-site restaurant/bar, its nightly live music entertainment and staff. We were impressed with the ocean and golf course view from the restaurant/bar, pool, and hot tub areas. Our whole experience at this resort was excellent. We would definitely come back and stay here again!

The property is listed as a "resort," the property is not even close to a resort. A resort is a self-contained destination with extensive amenities and recreational activities.This "resort" does not offer a comprehensive vacation experience, the only dining options was a bar with very little food to offer, no entertainment, and no leisure activities within the property. I don't know where the disconnct is between hotels.com and Kona Coast Resort but this isn't a resort, it's an apartment complex

Great place for my family to stay. Loved the pool area with the bar. Will definitely stay again if we travel to big island again.

The location is superb and the property very well maintained. The staff of this resort was helpful and very well equipped. There are beaches and a shopping mall in easy walking distance. Snorkeling equipment is available at the resort. In short this a complete vacation package, would definitely return

I loved the placement of the resort by the ocean and on the surface it looked great. We walked up the stairs and headed towards our room and looked down to see a large crack in the walkway. I’m a big person and I was not sure about the strength of that walkway. Then we got into our room and were impressed by the size and room itself. I opened the cupboard to see if they had coffee cups and two cockroaches ran towards me but that was after I couldn’t get the air conditioner to work. I called the desk and they sent mantinence. When he got there he got the air working and opened the same cupboard and saw three more roaches . There was only one bathroom sized trash can in the whole room. I wouldn’t recommend the resort to my friends or family.

Locate in convenient location, easy access to highway. Staffs are very nice and kind. However, found lots of cockroaches in the kitchen :-( we couldn’t leave any food out, everything must be on the fridge. We also have to wash all plates and pots before and after used due to roaches problem. Otherwise, I would come back again.

Upon arrival the condo was filled with the smell of urine. Dog? (Feces in grass along walk way.) Multiple spots in the kitchen also had cockroach dropping. There's was a roach in the shower and soap residue that wasn't cleaned. The other bathroom had mold on the ceiling, grout and on top of the decorative cubed shower wall. Will spend a little more next time somewhere more clean.

ROACHES. We have stayed in many hotels in the Hawaiian islands, this is the first one that had a crazy roach problem. We stayed in building 28 room 102, and upon checkin we saw little roaches. Advised front desk, and they said they would send maintenance the next day. We were gone 12 hrs the next day, came back to find the back glass sliding door open and curtains open, ANYONE could have come in as they had unlocked and left the first floor patio door open (it's open to the grass common area). I was very concerned w security after this. Thank goodness nothing was stolen. Even tho they said maintenance had come, for the next two days we saw a bunch of roaches, and my husband had to squash them all. I was SO WORRIED about packing a roach in my luggage and transferring them to another bottle or even bringing them home, how awful!!!

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price Our stay at Kona Coast Resort was unfortunately far from relaxing. We encountered a severe pest issue—cockroaches coming out from multiple places in the room, along with centipedes, worms, and constant mosquito bites. This made it very uncomfortable, especially for a property that’s marketed as a resort. One of the pools was closed during our stay, and the other was poorly maintained with bugs in both the pool and Jacuzzi. This was a major letdown for our vacation. I reported the cockroach issue to the front desk, and while they initially said they would send someone to spray, no one ever came. Upon following up, I was told we could be moved to another room, but it was only available upstairs with no elevator—despite the fact we had requested a ground-floor room in advance. I asked again for a downstairs room and was told none were available, yet during our time walking around the resort, we saw multiple unoccupied rooms. It felt like those who book through third-party sites like Expedia are placed in the least desirable locations, far from the main amenities. The only positive note was the prompt response from housekeeping. Any time we requested extra towels or linens, they were delivered quickly and followed up with a call to confirm we received them.

The good: Easy access to propery. Villas had all that we need. The lawns were very well taken care of. Staff were helpful. They provided extra blankets as soon as we requested. The bad: Pillows were terrible, they sink so bad they disapear from under your head! The carpet had a very foul odor. The air conditioner stayed very cold, did not propery work there was no way to turn the temperature down.

Nice room with great space. Beds very comfortable. But…There were cockroaches in the room. Probably normal for the area as there were a lot outside. The unit had dead cockroaches behind the furniture. It seems there may be a chemical used. As I read other reviews this seems to be a trend.

The resort was extremely clean. We are picky about where we stay and this place was fantastic. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. It was also nice being able to cook our own meals and have adequate cookware to do so. I highly recommend this resort.

We stayed in a spacious one-bedroom unit that had a full dining table, comfortable king bed, a fully appointed kitchen, and a large patio. The grounds of the resort are beautiful, and we really enjoyed the large pool. The WiFi wasn’t the best and there’s only one very small beach in the vicinity (but Kona has a rocky shore everywhere), but if you’re looking for a comfortable resort to relax at, this one fits the bill. We would definitely stay here again.

Not sound proof so heard all the stomping on floor above. Hard to sleep due to that. Condos are old and in need of updating. Dead cockroach in one cabinet.Although Hotels.com shows ocean view, most rooms do not have so very misleading. Pool and bar/restaurant ok. Would not stay here again.

The only downside is the neighbors on the upper floor who can be heard walking around very loudly.

Amazing room - huge space, great balcony, kitchen stuff needed for mornings, washer/dryer if needed. Property was great - people so helpful, bar & food by the pool and great staff for activities if you need it. Location was great for day trips l over the island. We went for day trips to black & green sand beaches, volcano national park for the day, Mauna Kea visitor center /hikes!! Great 4 day trip location & rent a car so worth it. Plenty of food spots to eat - parking is expensive in downtown Kona. Look for lots where the scan code has the restaurant you are going to and ask for validation to reduce costs of parking!!!

The location is good, the people running the place are great, and while the rooms are spacious, they need to be remodeled. Lots of musty, moldy smells, probably due to a past water leak not remediated correctly.

Loved the unit we stayed in. Had actual garage for our rental car. Full size everything, kitchen, bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room and dining room table. Would definitely stay here again.

Location is on the edge of town so it is less busy, also has less amenities. The rooms are starting to show some age and are a bit dated. The AC is not on until you get in your room and turn it on, and it takes about 2 hours to cool down. Beds are very comfortable, has full kitchen and laundry in the room. Great bang for the buck staying here. I did not us any amenities, so i can't comment on those.

Amazing. 7 nights for that price. It’s not an apartment. It’s not a mini studio. You get a 1 floor HOUSE. Gorgeous.

We had 1 issue with someone blasting music from their vehicle with the doors open late at night. The activities desk will try and talk you into a timeshare presentation, disguised as a "20 minute tour" for $100. You'll lose minimum 2 hours of your vacation time. Don't fall for that unless you're into that sort of thing. Overall inexpensive for being in hawaii and a great option when you dont plan to spend a lot of time in your room. On site pool is really nice, restaurant is not very good. Staff are responsive to anything you need and you can rent anything you'd need for the beach at a shop near the pool.

They slip a $40 “refundable” deposit onto your card without telling you, then force you to visit the tour center in person (during limited hours) just to get your money back.

We had an excellent stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful with anything we needed.

Staff is rude. They are only interested in selling you the timeshare and not at all interested in providing you service while you stay there. They don’t do house keeping at all. We stayed three days, went to the beach and had to come to a dirty room every time. They did not specify this while I was making the reservation. We asked for an extra blanket and they did not have one to give. If you go to the pool they don’t give you towels there. You first have to order them from your room, they bring to your room and then you take to the pool. Every staff member was rude. Every time we called for something or stopped at the counter bcc or something, the staff gave us a rude response and a dirty look.

Great customer service. Caleb made our stay a very nice experience. We got the room we asked for. It was great. Thank you so much for everything and providing outstanding service young man. Definitely we will be staying there in the future. Great place, very quiet and clean. Kudos to the staff.

Scam, they trick you into signing up for a timeshare sales meeting, and take a deposit. Not at all what I expected on a checkin

The resort was extremely clean. We are picky about where we stay and this place was fantastic. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. It was also nice being able to cook our own meals and have adequate cookware to do so. I highly recommend this resort.

The staff was super helpful. And quick to have things fixed when problems are brought up.

We stayed one week in the facility. Well organized, was easy to checkbin and our. They were nice to alliw us to stay the whole day innthe facility: poil, restaurant, showers as our flight was only at 21. Tbe stafff was very nixce and every request we made was promptly satisfied. So, a big Mahalo to all tbat made our vacations so good.

We’ve stayed at Kona Coast resort several times. Beautiful property and spacious rooms. No beach but nice pools and amenities. Close to a shopping center with several restaurants and a grocery store - easy walk. Just a few miles to beaches and downtown Kona. recommend!

Kona Coast Resort is a great resort with lots of amenities on site and friendly staff. Only note I would offer is that you will definitely want a car at this resort as very few activities are walkable distance. There is plenty of parking however and the spot was included as part of our stay!

Too far from town.

It was a nice resort on the water that was adjacent to a golf course. Beautiful scenery and up the hill across the street was a shopping center. That included a grocery store, gift shop, pharmacy, restaurants and a movie theater. Just to name a few.

The property was nice. The staff were friendly. We never used the main pool partly because you couldn’t take your own drinks (and I believe food) into the pool, so if you wanted to enjoy a beer by the pool, you were forced into a $9 beer plus a tip. I thought that was too much on the side of profit rather than showing the guests a good relaxing time by the pool. There was a grocery store and a Longs Drugs not far, so that was good. The property is way on the south side of Kona, and the beaches are way on the north, so I found the location to be too far from the beaches. Every day was a long drive. But as far as the room and the staff, it was great!

We searched for a property with high ratings, and this was a 9.2 out of 10. The property is outdated; appliances don’t work; and there are cockroaches in the rooms. At most, we would give it a 5. I think the staff are super kind and friendly. There’s no beach unless you drive that you can swim at. One small restaurant on site that is basic with burgers and sandwiches. This resort does not compare to the other islands.

Everyone was so nice! It was just my daughter and I and we felt completely safe and comfortable! The views of the ocean from the balcony were absolutely beautiful! The whole property was very pretty!

Really large Condo property with everything you need to not waste a lot of $ dining out everyday. There was even a washer and dryer and kitchen had all utensils, dishes, fridge, oven, microwave. I would probably update the carpet to hard wood floor and the tub was huge but hard to get out of. Only thing we hated was the food at the bar. Drinks were great but I would not order any food, worst we’ve had in our years of travel. They need to redo the whole food situation asap!

We would definitely love to come back to this resort the next time we are on the big island. The resort is very beautiful and very clean. The kitchen is stocked with everything that you could possibly need, and all of the glasses, including the wine, glasses are sparkling clean. There was enough towels inside of the spacious bathrooms, and the bathrooms were so big. They were almost the size of a bedroom in the master bath. The beds were very comfortable and slept well. The balcony also had an extra large table on it as well as the kitchen for dining. The entire suite that we had was very clean. The pool was clean and quiet. We enjoyed having drinks and we enjoyed the food at the bar. All of the staff were very friendly. We have no complaints at all. If I could make one critique, I would want a ping-pong table. Otherwise, this is an excellent stay, we will definitely come back. The photos on Expedia, do not do this place justice. The grounds, the rooms, the bedroom and bath are all very clean and beautiful.
