Super 8 by Wyndham Sarasota Near Siesta Key

Cast off mattresses in patio area and visible elsewhere. Patio mattress appears in photo submitted in earlier review. Room smelled heavily of Fabreez or similar, suggesting they don't so much as clean as mask odors. Lobby breakfast area not well maintained. Breakfast offerings only barely passable. I expect the the property to deteriorate.

Nothing about this property is suitable for stay. Permanent residents are inconsiderate, loud, noisy and hang out on the balcony all day and night being loud. The pool was not swimmable and could barely see the bottom. The room was not clean. The coffee pot was broke . There was food left in the fridge , clothes left in the drawer. Front office is a hangout for staff lounging on the couch doing nothing. This place is disgusting

Firstly, when we arrived to the property, I thought that maybe we had the wrong address because the exterior of the building was poor and kind of looked abandoned. Secondly, during check-in, I was never asked about my method of payment. It was automatically taken off of the card that was supposed to be used solely for $100 deposit, but okay. I asked for bottles of water to purchase and was given the answer, “ I only have 3, and they’re mine from home”. So, there was no water or other drinks, snacks, etc that were an option. Thirdly, we were moved rooms 3 times! The first room smelled like someone had smoked 12 packs of cigarettes 1 hour prior to our arrival. I went to take a shower in the second room and there was no water. The third room was doable, but by that time I was exhausted to have to move again. Fourthly, the area around the pool was filthy, we even seen a crack pipe by the gate! There was a rusted grill sitting by the gate. The actual pool was full of leaves and unclean. Fifthly, there were not many restaurants or stores to conveniently walk to. I had to uber eat for bottled waters, drinks, and snacks. I hate that I had to write such a horrible review, but our experience was horrible! Mine you we were visiting FL for a funeral, so these inconveniences were not received well.

Easy to park

The grounds need attention, it is not well kept and tired. Pool was dirty. My neighbors argued a good part of the night was constantly being woken.

The air conditioning didn't work well at all. This was the absolute worst issue of the room. Rooms needed more attention to detail. Shower rod was taped. The cabinet holding the refrigerator was rotting from where it had gotten wet. The pool was not cleaned. If we got into it we had to use the skimmer it clean it.

The room was actually pretty decent except the door almost hits the bed when you walk in, and the bathroom light is around the corner from the bathroom. The wet bar is a wonderful feature. The staff that we saw were very friendly. The stairs to the 2nd floor are very steep and narrow.

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The AC was leaking inside the room, and I nearly slipped this morning. The room had an unpleasant odor. The pools were in very poor condition—so dirty that you couldn’t even see the bottom. Cleanliness and maintenance clearly need significant improvement.

I’ve stated the Ritz Carlton and I’ve stated super eight sometimes even at Motel 6 when I was a kid. This was above the typical super eight standard, I am a winner rewards member, but I did not book through Wyndham this time. The staff was friendly and welcoming, my room was clean, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. I am visiting my daughter in boarding school every other weekend when she is allowed to have visitation and have booked my next four weekends with this exact same hotel because I’ve been very happy. The pool is clean and nice, the parking lot is , as expected, I feel the unit is safe and it’s close to lots of restaurants and shopping.

Trash cans overflowing, should be empty more than once a day. Bed was to soft no support. Cleaning ladies awesome. Rooms clean, place quiet at night, owners/desk very helpful. Breakfast has a lot to be desired and the set up is not flowing and crowded by tables outside area was not open and had a mattress on the patio.

Very dirty. Felt unsafe like drugs were being sold downstairs from us. We planned to stay 2 nights while passing through but just stayed 1 night. Mold growing in the shower and WiFi was non-existent

There is no way any of the reviews are real that rate this place over a 1 star. I have never seen a place so bad. When walking in to the office there was someone sleeping on the couch snoring, while the other got me set up. When walking into the room first you see blood stains and dirt up the walls, then notice the old lights with no lamp shades. Then you see the grey supposed to be white pillow cases, then when you move the cases you see a mess of bugs run down the back of the bed. Then try and take the blankets off and you realize real fast they just made the bed as there are stains and hair all over the sheets. I got brave and looked into the bathroom and yup the mold, the stains and the smell was unreal. Expedia is to blame for these dumps, as they do not vet the hotels and the reviews, and then try and cancel and it’s unreal hard, Expedia wants you to deal with the hotel for the refund that you paid to Expedia. With all that said, this place should be closed down, amd the health dept has to be called.

The room smelled like cigarettes, the toilet lid was broken,They didn't give us a towel change service in 2 days. This is a hotel only if you have plans to only go to sleep and only stay for a day or 2 days maximum to solve where to sleep.

Stay was good.. room is very clean

The rooms were dirty under the bed the sheets had stains in them. under the beds were full of trash besides that it was a great area to stay everything you would need was a walking distance just the cleanliness was not good at all

We checked in. It was a non-smoking room but the whole room smelled like cigarettes and there were burn holes in the blanket. Hair in the bathtub, food smears on the door and all over the remote. Didnt have towels available upon request had to wait until morning. Breakfast was literally frozen waffles they cooked and put in a container. I was beyond irritated and when i tried to mention it to the front desk they just acted confused and told me i need to tell the housekeeper.

Stated that bed sheets and room would be cleaned after the 3rd day of stay, stayed for 7 days, and our room was not cleaned, bed sheets not changed, and had to go ask if we can get fresh towels.

This was a business trip. No wifi. Could not sleep neighbors were screaming making loud noises all night. Fights outside my unit. I was afraid to go outside to speak to front desk about these issues. Could not leave my unit afraid for my life to step outside my door. Bugs in my bed sheets has cigarette hole burns in them. Floors were dirty. Room had a terrible smell to it. Contacted owner he laughed at me then hung up. Tried to call him numerous times to resolve the issue. No response. When on the property all they did was asked me to speak with the housekeeper upon check out time. Poor management. Argumentative so unprofessional. Unclean. I may have bed bugs now I am allergic

The ac in the room was very noisy, we left the same day. Nobody at the Front Desk when we arrived. The room smelled dusty.

The people in the room next to us were drinking and screaming all night on Friday, and into Saturday morning. It was incredibly hard to sleep. The room was comfortable.

It was extremely noisy. We were next to living quarters?? Loud talking past 3:00am! A dated motel - clean to the point of smelling like Lysol.

The rooms do not have HD TV service, but there is HD TV in the lobby. I inquired: in the lobby the staff has some special hook-up, providing them with HD quality. What's up with this? You get teased in the lobby, only to be disappointed in your room? Not good. The staff should sit and watch analog TV like the rest of us. For that matter, why are they sitting and watching TV anyway? The place could use sprucing up.

Area was easy to come in and out of traffic... Receptionist was helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was updated. Good value for the price. Wifi connection weak.

noisy room

Only reason I put a 3 was the wifi was in and out all the time. I didn't have very good cell service in the room either. Maybe a few more options for cereal too. All in all it was a nice place to stay for just to sleep and shower.

Super 8 was “overbooked” ( I made a rez 3 months ago) so they sent me to a different hotel. It was hot, noisy, hair in the sink clogged drain and worst of all no hot water ( I mean totally cold) in the shower.

The front desk clerk was sleeping when we checked in. The motel is very dirty. Guests were blaring music and talking loudly. Stay clear.

Charged a 100 deposit. Asked them to check my room upon check out they said it was fine. They took my 100 deposit when there was no damage to property or room. Room was not tidy...dusty...lights didnt work properly. Called to address deposit issue they didnt ask my name or room number just told me good luck getting it back

While I expected (and ok with) a budget friendly room I was extremely disappointed that the secondary door lock (the manual metal one that flips back and forth) was missing one half and thus not operational. I called immediately after checking in. The manager who eventually showed up an hour later only to be told there was nothing he could do till the next day and that I would be fine with just the dead bolt. Being there was a somewhat loud group partying outside in the parking lot, as a senior single female I did not feel safe and spent most of the night not sleeping. Would not stay there again.

Horrible place with no cleaning and crappy breakfast. The worst was the feeling of insecurity due to the neighborhood and unpleasant people Living on the hotel. We did not feel safe at all. The hotelrate is robery!! Way too expensive. The place is definetely more a nasty motel than a hotel.

Perfect place to sleep at when you arrive at 1AM at the airport. Close and convenient.

Beautiful room .Liked the wood floors and the nice wall photos.Nice sink.The AC unit was not to 60.I prefer Amana units digital to 60 for best sleep over night,but it was a short stay so that did not matter.I thought hotel was near Siesta Key,rather it is North of Downtown Sarasota

Ok hotel, close to the airport, so very convenient when you have a very early morning flight. Rooms are cleaned. Sheets were a little bit worn out. Friendly welcome.

The room was clean, but some parts of the room are in need of replacement. The chair arm was burnt and generally dirty, the phone buttons were missing, and the shower curtain rod was falling off the wall. The bed was comfy and clean and the tv was nice and large. Fair warning about the breakfast... its only frozen waffles, cereal and hard boiled eggs. we book are stays where we can get a decent breakfast before our day starts and this one was disappointing. Overall for the price it was a nice stay.

It's near my destination but on a very busy street and has a nice small swimming pool. The AC/heat unit is 10 times noisy than the traffic noise. And the smell of smoke get into your room from everywhere. The breakfast includes only cold items like milk bread orange etc.

Definitely feels a little worn-out, but it was clean and the location was good for our trip. Breakfast was a big disappointment. Not much to choose from, not nicely presented.

A low budget place to stay. Free breakfast is basic. Cereal, bread and English muffins for toast, coffee, orange juice, oatmeal some fruits. The room was clean but the bathroom was tight.
