New Sun Gate Motel

The remote to the tv didn't turn the tv on or work the volume. This definitely is NOT a 4 star hotel. 2 Stars at best. You had to call the hotel to get someone to come to the office to check you in. I was in a king size bed room and it only had a freezer in it, not a fridge. Didn't make sense. Probably wouldn't stay here again. On a positive not, it had a small pool and grill area.

The pool

They have a cafe, but it’s been closed for a long time. A coffee maker is in your room that makes a cup at a time. There is a pool which is well kept. For a 2 or 3 star place to stay, it’s okay.

Do not stay here. The whole place reeks of cigarette smoke it's disgusting and overpowering. My room was so dirty I couldn't walk barefoot. The sheets were clean however. And the gentleman in the office was friendly and helpful. The pool is not heated apparently the heater is broken. There are no chairs to sit outside your room to get away from the smell of cigarettes.

I enjoyed our stayed we had no problems or issues We check in here everyone was polite and professional friendly welcoming and then we checked out these restaurants Lake Ave has a bunch of great restaurants 3 minutes away Then fun depo had go karting,bowling,arcade it’s also a bar/restaurant then rapids water park was 15 minutes and Henry Morrison Mansion 20 minutes . Everything was close and convenient .

For the budgeted travelers like me I recommend. The place is a bit older but clean and quiet. The area the hotel is in is safe, clean, and quiet. The man at the front desk was very warm and welcomeing. My room was spacious and had the basic amenities including a fridge and microwave. The place has a pool, and a parking lot. The beach, restaurants, stores, and bars and everything else is near. The airport is like 15 minutes away. They also serve breakfast. I enjoyed my stay here I would definitely return and recommend for the solo traveler or groups of all ages.

Muke and staff are top of the line. Beds are like a cloud to sleep on. Rooms are very roomy,cozy and clean. The pool is perfect for these hot FL days and there's also a bbq area for the grilling enthusiasts. Quiet neighborhood to get away from the busy daily life traffic. All and all a perfect getaway for any occasion

This a 50's style motel from the 50's. Call it vintage. It is not modern, but it is comfortable. And very economical. There is a swimming pool (which we did not use) and lush tropical plants. It was quiet, we felt safe, and the owner was helpful. Drawbacks: there is no elevator (if you are on the second floor) and the WIFI needs updating. We would probably return.

Clean linens, bed comfortable, home cooked breakfast, clean pool, staff very friendly and accommodating The place could use painting. We will go back.

Love the kitch factor and old celebrity themed rooms. But place was dingy, worn and merely functional. Roaches.... App will not let me add photos.

Rats outside and roaches in the room , really dirty dirty covers and sheets with stains. Worst place ever !

Room was ok.. needs deep cleaning and updated.. I didn’t have breakfast but my niece did and it looked nice.. made to order and free. I did see two roaches (yuck) but the staff (the maid was the cook also-she was very pleasant) . It was close to the port so it was fine. Nice neighbors too in the next room. Didn’t get to swim.. just slept and left.

This was one of the worst motels I have ever stayed in. Room was dirty and everything was old and mismatched. There were bugs on the floor. Anyone walking by the hallway could see into our room which made me feel unsafe.

Enjoyed a peaceful night’s rest upstairs in room 25 Greta Garbo. Spacious room with 2 firm but comfy double beds, air con to keep us cool; in addition to a microwave and fridge, a toaster and a hand held shower rose (the only accommodation we stayed in travelling across 14 states that had these extras). Although old and dated, our room was comfortable with no bugs. This room is also partly sheltered from the sun with a block trellis and tree outside which is a bonus. The man at reception was lovely. Plenty of parking. Would stay again.

The bed kIng size bed was broken it leaned on one side and no matter how i slept on the other side of the bed i kept falling on the othe t side of the bed that had a bad lean on the other side of the bed i reported it to management and his response was that it wasn't that bad and continue to flip the sheets on the bed other than that everything else was ok

Loved the classic decor. Huge 50s guy. I had the Grace Kelly Suite

Overall stay was great. Just one issue the internet connection does not work. There providers are Netgear the internet could never stay on. I relied on it for work

Funky, nice, and clean budget motel It could use some water pressure in the shower as it trickled but was hot Beds are older and sleepable A/C worked great. I would stay here again but without my wife.

It may be an older building near downtown but it is clean, spacious, and all the appliances in the room worked. It has a nostalgic feel with rooms named and portraits of famous people and celebrities. i.e. Princess Diana, Elvis, etc.

For a last minute low priced room, this was a cut above the rest. The grounds were peaceful looking and there were many improvements in my room. There were, though, the usual patched areas with no paint, and a TV which went bonkers the second I changed the channel. I spent an hour on that TV and never did get it to work again. Such frustration...

We needed an economical place to stay for the night on a work trip. When arriving at the office around 3pm, there was nobody there but a phone was available to call the onsite manager who came down. The hotel is older and quite a bit run down, but it did have uniquely themed rooms which was interesting. We stayed in the John Lennon. This hotel is fine for an overnight stay, but not appropriate for a family vacation.

Clean place to stay. Management is very responsive and keeps property clean and safe. Great value and great location.

Bad area of town. Neighbors have bars on windows and properties near by have lots of security cameras and high fences. I don't know where the previous reviews showed this property with good ratings. Oh and critters that crawl on the floor at night. I believe they spray but the fact that the critters got in shows a lack of maintenance.

I really enjoy this place. I stay here almost weekly for work & the location is fantastic

Wonderful motel located just a few miles from Lake Worth beach. New Sungate is my go to for any stay here. Great atmosphere and staff. Comfort and peace await you here at New Sungate

If you are looking for a inexpensive place to sleep for one night then move on. This place will do. The bed are not comfortable, but the units are clean. The are is safe, 5 to 10 minutes walk to downtown.

Their 'continental' breakfast was two eggs, two sausage links, two pieces of toast with butter and jelly - all cooked after you order!

I am in town visiting and I didn’t arrive to the motel until around 11:30 at night. Did you leave it at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. I will go the next morning to their breakfast, which is homemade by a very sweet lady who catered to me hand and foot. Housekeeping did a great job and keeping my room clean and make sure I had towels and everything I needed. I give it a 5 ⭐️ rating!

Great nostalgic hotel! Family run, takes great pride in keeping everything clean. They had a bench outside every door so you could sit and smoke, with ashtrays…smoked pretty late at night and by 7:00am it was emptied and cleaned. Pool looked nice but didn’t get a chance to use it. It was a very low price hotel so I wasn’t expecting them to come make the beds while we were gone …nice to come back to a clean room. Breakfast is $5 for people not booking online, I thought I was lied to about free breakfast but they gave it to me for free because I booked online…so we tipped then and they were so grateful for the kind gesture. Fresh real scrambled eggs, sausage, and toast with butter and jelly! A little homey with a soft soap dispenser by the sink like the one you buy for your home instead of those small wrapped hotel soaps…this added to the charm of the place, old furniture but well maintained and very non commercial looking… loved the very non traditional looking room!! Felt very safe, no noise, no questionable looking people hanging around. Not perfect, so if having an over sized giant tv, and typical hotel decor if important to you, stay somewhere commercial like big chains. The people were very accommodating, will stay there again!
