1st lets say the home is amazing, it's quent yet roomy at the same time. The host has outfitted the place with great usefull decour, records for the record player, board games for the family and a wonderful guide book about the surrounding town. The town is great the food is wonderful, they do close early though so make sure you go to a grocery store like Alfi located in Romona as the stores here are limited and very expensive. Lots to do that is different than the wild race of city life.

Jason was such a gracious host from start to finish. He was so laid back and didn’t have any crazy demands or lists of things to do, it was all so easy and user friendly. Check in was super easy and we just used a key pad and combo to enter at our check in time. Upon arrival and in person, the cabin was such a pleasant surprise and the photos online truly don’t do the place justice. It’s so unique and has so many personal touches and comes equipped with everything you could ever need from a telescope to kitchen utensils and salon quality products in the shower. The cabin was exceptionally clean, the bed was very comfortable and I liked that I was able to log into my Hulu account on the tv there too. The decorations are so cool too and really gives it that old school western vibe. You can really tell that so much thought and love was put into the cabin. It even has a soft water filtration system which is nice too. We brought our dog who throughly enjoyed the surrounding areas and taking walks around the pond on the property. There are also endless areas to walk and hike around that area which was perfect for us. The cabin is a very short walk into the town too, which is so convenient! We are already wanting to go back and can’t wait to plan our next trip to the cabin! We 10/10 recommend, it was just perfect and such a special and fun trip for us!

Great place to relax. Near town, quiet and peaceful with everything you need. Little things like the vinyl record player and telescope made it even better! Stairs are a little steep and the well water has a bit of an odor, but nothing that would keep us from planning to return to this great place.

This place is amazing!!! Low-stress communication with the host, easy keyless entry. It is a cozy home, but yet with enough room to relax and spread out. The view of the pond right behind the house was very pleasant and a nice bonus to the area. By day, there is birdsong of all kinds, and by night, a symphony of frogs chirping will lull you to sleep! They got progressively louder from twilight until well past midnight. Hilarious and enchanting! Really quaint, magical, property. NO other rooms or loud businesses around so the solitude and double-paned windows were heavenly. Everything you could possibly think of was available - games, cards, fully stocked kitchenwares, coffee and tea service, binoculars, batteries, high-model telescope, bicycles, cold packs, extra comforters and pillows, a fun vintage replica radio/phonograph, etc. Even cooler is the small tavern, Nickel Beer, tacross the street! We met the guy that makes the beer, Ray, and the manager, Shawn! Friendly helpful guys. The list of craft beers was impressive. The few suggestions I have are easily manageable - need to clear away grassy area that covers up the address box. It was not lighted so we got a little lost turning onto the wrong dirt road. I will definitely be back. The slightly higher price is worth the beauty, charm, and serenity the house and location have to offer.

It was a great stay. The property had everything we needed. We loved the vinyl record player, which also had bluetooth connection. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed since we did some cooking. We really enjoyed the closeness to all the shops and restaurants in Julian. It was nice having Nickel Beer Co. right across the street. We actually spent an afternoon at the place. The host Jason was very responsive to my messages answering my annoying (probably) questions regarding the amenities. Great experience, it made our yearly Christmas vacation very enjoyable.

We experienced amazing hospitality! The place was clean and very cozy-plenty of blankets and pillows, games to play, fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Even a telescope- kids were stoked about that! The coffee station was fully stocked; husband was very happy about that one. They even had bicycles available for cruising around town. Jason thought of everything!

We enjoyed a long weekend at this charming and cozy A-frame. The kitchenette had everything we needed to make breakfast. We especially enjoyed eating on the small patio overlooking the pond and listening to the vinyl collection. Julian's Main Street was a 3 min drive away and Nickel Beer Brewery was a short walk across the street. The host was helpful and responsive. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic VRBO property, and I can't recommend it enough! The host made sure everything was perfect. The house was well maintained, clean, and exactly as described in the listing. The furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel like a true home away from home.The location was ideal and had a peaceful view of the pond. Close to all the attractions I wanted to visit. While the town was within walkable distance and bikes on the property for us to use, it was snowy conditions and too cold to walk so we drove instead.The kitchen was fully equipped and the outdoor picnic table was a wonderful bonus, perfect for our meal in the sun facing the pond. Communication with the host was seamless; Jason was responsive, friendly, and offered great local recommendations. We enjoyed walking across to the Nickel Beer Co. which had amazing beer, ciders, family friendly and very friendly people and staff.There were E-vehicle chargers at the local library and 2 free Tesla chargers at the Orchard Inn (free before 5 pm). We walked the town and ate at Julian Cafe while our car was charging.Overall, this stay exceeded all my expectations, and I would absolutely return in the future. Highly recommend this VRBO property to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located getaway!

Everything was great and cozy. The only issue was where we had to park, around the back area. We arrived towards the night time, and due to it being pitch black, need to be careful not driving in a bug dip, which needs to be covered. Luckily we saw it in time to use other pathway.

Our stay was great, the property description was accurate. Cozy, comfortable, well stocked and maintained. Check in and out was super easy. Jason was very responsive, courteous and flexible. The walk into "town" was short (10-15 min with a child) but somewhat precarious given no sidewalks, walking on uneven ground, and fast traffic. Our stay was right after Christmas and there was a lot of crowds in julian with take out delaying to to 2 hours or restaurants flat out not taking further orders. So make sure you prepare for this by planning ahead or brining your own food. You access the property using a short gravel road and to get into the property you go up a set of stairs. I would suggest bringing a flashlight for safety should you go out at night. For people with mobility challenges this may be too difficult.

Cabin is within walking distance to downtown Julian if you are reasonably fit. Jason was responsive and accomodating to our requeat for early checkin however there was a delay with housekeeping getting the appartment ready, but still worked out. The place was clean and comfortable. One of our party slept on the futon and it would have been nice to have linens provided. The coffee station was very well presented and varied. Only complaint is the door keypad needs work or replaced.

This is our 4th stay...we love everything about it. It is a clean, cozy, beautiful get away. Tucked away by a pond, and perfect for our family of 3. Thanks to the property owner Jadon for being so accommodating, friendly and professional!

Negative- 1. The cleaning crew did not do their job properly, specifically the bathtub, it wasn't cleaned at all, hair everywhere, I found Ajax and washed it before we could take showers. 2. Right after we checked in, we saw colonies of ants inside the house, near the entrance. I have pictures of them, hundreds.... We immediately notified the owner. He sent someone to spray Raid and put out ant traps, not what was expected from our vacation. 3. The air conditioning unit in the bedroom was absolutely super loud, we couldn't sleep, even with our 33db noise reducing ear plugs... it was very hot inside, 92f. we waited till 3:30am, turned it off then went to bed. When complained to the owner, he said it's not loud. My family was not able to have much sleep the 2 nights we stayed there.

The property was clean and conveniently located across the street from a lovely brewery. There were some issues with check in. When we arrived at 4 (check in) the cleaning crew was at the property and we were asked to give them more time to clean. This is the third time I've stayed in Julian and the first time a rental property was not ready in time. We were given one additional hour for check out. Other than the late check in, we were happy with the property and location.

This was our first time in Julian and it was the best place to stay. If you love beer, there is a brewery right across the street with very friendly people. The place was clean, organized and cool during these past two hot days. 10/10 would recommend

Cabin was right above a salon so I got a haircut and my wife got a manicure. The unit is right on a lake which you can see from the balcony. The unit is well furnished and comfortable. The host was super responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend!

This property is a great value. Inside, it is clean and comfortable and has everything a couple would need. Kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of towels, blankets, soaps, etc. Loved the location super close to downtown Julian, but just far enough away to not feel the crowds. As other have mentioned, the heater took about 8 hours to get the unit to a comfortable temperature. Once it did, it worked great. I would suggest the owner turn the heater on a few hours before check in to help speed up the process. A wonderful property and the property manager was a pleasure to deal with.

Very cozy A frame not far from Julian town center and convenient to Nickel Beer co. Jason is very responsive when contacted. Bed was comfortable and the open windows let a beautiful crosswind for night sleeping. Home is well stocked with all you need for a short stay. Loved that it was pet friendly.

Minutes from main street, easy drive to Wynola. Property stayed cool and was well insulated and air conditioning was available for the hotter months but we didn't need it. Nice little field behind the place for the doggos and a brewery across the street.

This property is really unique. It is located near the center of the city, 15 minutes walk, at the same time it is very secluded and quiet. This is upstairs unit, downstairs are some business closed by 6 pm. Nobody around at night. The unit is well equipped and clean. The owner is very friendly and ready to solve any problem. The only issue is the internet connection, it is very hectic. If you plan to work remotely, don't rely on it. Otherwise, everything is perfect. The area around is beautiful and very quiet. There is a nice beer bar across the street. It is not very crowded and closes at seven pm. If there are no clouds, you might enjoy a wonderful starry sky. I really enjoyed my stay over there.

This place is amazing!!! Low-stress communication with the host, easy keyless entry. It is a cozy home, but yet with enough room to relax and spread out. The view of the pond right behind the house was very pleasant and a nice bonus to the area. By day, there is birdsong of all kinds, and by night, a symphony of frogs chirping will lull you to sleep! They got progressively louder from twilight until well past midnight. Hilarious and enchanting! Really quaint, magical, property. NO other rooms or loud businesses around so the solitude and double-paned windows were heavenly. Everything you could possibly think of was available - games, cards, fully stocked kitchenwares, coffee and tea service, binoculars, batteries, high-model telescope, bicycles, cold packs, extra comforters and pillows, a fun vintage replica radio/phonograph, etc. Even cooler is the small tavern, Nickel Beer, tacross the street! We met the guy that makes the beer, Ray, and the manager, Shawn! Friendly helpful guys. The list of craft beers was impressive. This was a great little space for our stay. It's deceiving in size, it feels much bigger inside than what it appears from the outside. All check in instructions were very clear, along with the directions to the location. Jason, the owner communicates very clearly and it is so appreciated. We had absolutely no issues. We went went for Christmas and our kids had a blast, they are already asking about coming again. The location is very convenient. It's at the eastern side of Julian's Main Street, so you are very close to all of the tourist portions with out being totally in the mix of people/traffic.

Hard to find yet Jason Kardos texted us through that. He was very patient with us even though he was in an airplane. Also did not realize how steep the back steps were as well as the wooden handrails. We are 69 & 72 so it was a bit of a problem. Did not realize on the photos it was like that. We had to get used to the A frame lower ceilings as we bumped our heads a few times. The inside was perfect though &a cute design.

I stayed here for a weekend of activity in the Borrego Springs / Shelter Valley area. The loft was nice and clean with all the furnishings you would need (though I used little of them). I really only used it as a place to sleep. Sadley, I have to ding it one star as the heater was not capable with keeping up with the 40 degree temperatures of the weekend. The inside never got much above 60 despite the heater being set to 68. Fortunately, the bedding is significant enough to keep you warm while sleeping, but it did make for some chilly mornings while getting ready.

Cabin is within walking distance to downtown Julian if you are reasonably fit. Jason was responsive and accomodating to our requeat for early checkin however there was a delay with housekeeping getting the appartment ready, but still worked out. The place was clean and comfortable. One of our party slept on the futon and it would have been nice to have linens provided. The coffee station was very well presented and varied. Only complaint is the door keypad needs work or replaced.

We spent 3 nights here in order to hang out in Julian/Cuyamaca for a while. The unit was as advertised and was comfortable and convenient for our purposes. Being across the road from Nickel Beer Company didn't hurt either. We wanted to be able to go into Julian during the week without the crowds and just hang out. This was perfect for that. While it is possible to walk into Julian from the unit, there really isn't a sidewalk along the highway so we chose to drive. Jason, the owner, was responsive to text messages and gave us all the information we needed up front. The only thing I would say to anyone considering staying here is to be prepared for going up and down the stairs. If you're over a certain age or have small kids, this might be a challenge as there is no other way to access the unit. All in all, a good stay and would recommend.

When we arrived at 4 (check in) the cleaning crew was at the property and we were asked to give them more time to clean. This is the third time I've stayed in Julian and the first time a rental property was not ready in time. We were given one additional hour for check out. Other than the late check in, we were happy with the property and location.

We especially enjoyed eating on the small patio overlooking the pond and listening to the vinyl collection. The house was well maintained, clean, and exactly as described in the listing. Minutes from main street, easy drive to Wynola. Property stayed cool and was well insulated and air conditioning was available for the hotter months but we didn't need it. Nice little field behind the place for the doggos and a brewery across the street.

It was a great stay. The property had everything we needed. We loved the vinyl record player, which also had bluetooth connection. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed since we did some cooking. We really enjoyed the closeness to all the shops and restaurants in Julian. It was nice having Nickel Beer Co. right across the street. We actually spent an afternoon at the place. The host Jason was very responsive to my messages answering my annoying (probably) questions regarding the amenities. Great experience, it made our yearly Christmas vacation very enjoyable.

Our stay was great, the property description was accurate. Cozy, comfortable, well stocked and maintained. Check in and out was super easy. Jason was very responsive, courteous and flexible. The walk into "town" was short (10-15 min with a child) but somewhat precarious given no sidewalks, walking on uneven ground, and fast traffic. Our stay was right after Christmas and there was a lot of crowds in julian with take out delaying to to 2 hours or restaurants flat out not taking further orders. So make sure you prepare for this by planning ahead or brining your own food. You access the property using a short gravel road and to get into the property you go up a set of stairs. I would suggest bringing a flashlight for safety should you go out at night. For people with mobility challenges this may be too difficult.

This property is a great value. Inside, it is clean and comfortable and has everything a couple would need. Kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of towels, blankets, soaps, etc. Loved the location super close to downtown Julian, but just far enough away to not feel the crowds. As other have mentioned, the heater took about 8 hours to get the unit to a comfortable temperature. Once it did, it worked great. I would suggest the owner turn the heater on a few hours before check in to help speed up the process. A wonderful property and the property manager was a pleasure to deal with.

Very clean and well laid out floor plan. Lots of games, excellent selection of vinyl records and good size little kitchen. Owner is an excellent communicator and checked in with us to make sure everything ran smoothly. Close to main part of city but it requires a walk along a highway so that was the only issue at an otherwise great rental.

My wife and I came here for a weeklong getaway. This place was instantly comfortable. Very homelike feeling. The only thing that wasn't provided was our own food. Everything else is there! The surroundings are very peaceful. There are businesses attached to the building, but you wouldn't know it. Nobody bothered us at all, which is what we were looking for. Downtown Julian is very close and there are some very nice places to check out that are close by. We didn't need a lot of communication with Jason, but when we had questions, he got back to us very quickly. We want to make this a regular spot to stay when we need another getaway.

Quaint, comfortable, clean and perfectly situated cabin a few minute drive from the city center. The cabin was well stocked with kitchen equipment, a barbecue and board games to play with the family. We experienced amazing hospitality! The place was clean and very cozy-plenty of blankets and pillows, games to play, fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Even a telescope- kids were stoked about that! The coffee station was fully stocked; husband was very happy about that one. They even had bicycles available for cruising around town. Jason thought of everything!
We experienced amazing hospitality! The place was clean and very cozy-plenty of blankets and pillows, games to play, fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Even a telescope- kids were stoked about that! The coffee station was fully stocked; husband was very happy about that one. They even had bicycles available for cruising around town. Jason thought of everything!

We enjoyed a long weekend at this charming and cozy A-frame. The kitchenette had everything we needed to make breakfast. We especially enjoyed eating on the small patio overlooking the pond and listening to the vinyl collection. Julian's Main Street was a 3 min drive away and Nickel Beer Brewery was a short walk across the street. The host was helpful and responsive. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

This is an incredible place for comfort and convenience. A spacious one bedroom with full bath and convenient kitchen area. Jason, our main contact, gave us all the info we needed well ahead of time and made our check-in easy with a combo lockbox right at the place. Great, comfy bed, fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, warm, rustic, western decor, and just about one mile outside of main street Julian. Everything we could want at a great value.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic VRBO property, and I can't recommend it enough! The host made sure everything was perfect. The house was well maintained, clean, and exactly as described in the listing. The furnishings and thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel like a true home away from home.The location was ideal and had a peaceful view of the pond. Close to all the attractions I wanted to visit. While the town was within walkable distance and bikes on the property for us to use, it was snowy conditions and too cold to walk so we drove instead.The kitchen was fully equipped and the outdoor picnic table was a wonderful bonus, perfect for our meal in the sun facing the pond. Communication with the host was seamless; Jason was responsive, friendly, and offered great local recommendations. We enjoyed walking across to the Nickel Beer Co. which had amazing beer, ciders, family friendly and very friendly people and staff.There were E-vehicle chargers at the local library and 2 free Tesla chargers at the Orchard Inn (free before 5 pm). We walked the town and ate at Julian Cafe while our car was charging.Overall, this stay exceeded all my expectations, and I would absolutely return in the future. Highly recommend this VRBO property to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located getaway!

This was the perfect place for us for our first time in Julian! The home is well put together and perfectly organized for incoming guests. The coffee station and guide book of Julian were very nice touches! Definitely will be back!

Room is very clean. AC and heating working well. It is said on the description "pet friendly", I always come with my pet and I have never had any problems. Area around this property lets you walk your pet outside. It is quiet, far from others.

Also, anytime we asked a question it was answered within minutes! Highly recommend this place!
