We needed a quick overnight stay for less than $200. There are no elevators in this and we had to schlep our luggage up three stories. We are seniors. The carpet in the bedroom was horrifying dirty— I kept my shoes on until I climbed into bed. The place is old and rundown. They need to put about $1 million into it and it will be charming as heck!!!! Locals told us that the restaurants fantastic! But we didn’t eat there.

This was a unique hotel. Definitely a historical hotel so the furnishings are also dated but that’s what this place is all about so do not expect any modern furnishings. Also, 3 floors and no elevators . Fine for us but not for anyone that can’t take the stairs. Whirlpool tub was nice. Front desk ladies were very nice. Will definitely be back.

It is an older hotel however the staff was wonderful. I talked in passing with a good amount of staff. Everyone was friendly. Staff gave recommendations for restaurant and it was awesome. Although I was busy away from property I enjoyed my stay and will switch where I stay whenever I’m in north end of Ventura County. I’d recommend it price is half of big chain hotels. It’s walking distances to shops and restaurants. If you don’t need a gym or pool then why pay for it. I want a safe, quiet place, and found that here. It was clean & comfortable. And parking is free. Love that part! Basically it is all the above choices.

We stayed two nights for a local wedding. Very comfortable and charming. Parking was convenient. The only problem was the last night when the room door would not open with the card, or the master key when staff was summoned. They finally managed to open the door--not sure how. Was it the ghost playing mischief in Oct on the first floor? No further incidences. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Staff was amazing. Hotel Lobby had a great ambiance and is in a list of Haunted Hotels in Southern CA however we experienced nothing. There is a restaurant on location which smelled absolutely amazing and had a great menu. We weren't impressed with the room. They are all individually decorated. Due to the lobby decor we expected the room to be somewhat of an antique feeling however it was more like a mix of second hand pieces from the 70s and 80s and not charming at all. It was very clean which is also important. If you have any mobility issues be sure to get a first floor room as there is no elevator.

Historic Inn. Definitely had an aged smell. Room was clean, no carpet. No hand towels, just one bath towel. Bed was comfortable. Bottled water provided in room. EV chargers on site was a bonus in private parking behind Inn. Closest hotel/motel to Thatcher School, where I needed to pick up my daughter.

The Glenn Tavern is a cute small hotel. Older so there’s no elevators, But I find it quite cozy. This is my second time staying here and both of my experiences have been amazing. The staff up front are extremely nice and it’s in a good area. All of my Santa Paula visits I will be booking here hands down.

The room was cold. It has a heater. I turned it up to 80 but, I have a thermometer and it was 42 at 11 p.m. I called the person on call . He said, you can complain about it tomorrow. I cant do anything. I will look for a space heater but no guarantee. I turned the heater all the way up to the maximum of 90 and it did kick it on and got the room up to about 70. It's an older and quaint and beautiful place but know that quaint often comes with things like no elevator, heaters that dont work properly etc.

Bed was comfortable, BUT carpet filthy, shower had great water pressure, but water changed from scalding HOT to freezing constantly throughout my shower, the sink didn’t drain, cheap body wash, shampoo and soap. Hallways loud at night, and you can hear your neighbors when they weee merely talking. So good points were good bed, and good, free coffee in the lobby in the morning, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was in, "okay" condition, but it was clean! Wooden windows were so old that it made it nearly impossible to open and close them. Curtains didn't completley block the windows which made it extremely easy for people to look into the room. Other than that pretty descent hotel! Will recommend!

I REALLY wanted to like this hotel ; I grew up in the area and was looking forward to it . The front courtyard is nicely kept . The lobby area is lovely , but who really hangs around in a hotel lobby all the time ? The parking lot is VERY badly lighted at night . My room was very dusty - there was a THICK layer of dust on the top of the draperies , and when I accidentally dropped a pillow into the crevice between the bed and the wall , the pillow came back up covered with dirt/hair ! There is a 6"step up into each bathroom , with no reflective tape to keep you from stumbling during the night ; there IS a plaque on the wall warning you about it , but who looks UP when you are trying to navigate an unfamiliar place ? The toilet is inexplicably raised another 2" above the rest of the bathroom , again an area of potential injury. The sink was SO SLOW to drain that it was practically unusable. The TV did not work , and I tried several times to figure out that remote with no luck. There are no in-room phones , and frequently the posted phone number on the website was simply not picked up by the staff ! This required ANOTHER trip down the staircase to ask any questions or get help with an issue, and after long days spent going out to visit friends and family I simply didnt have the energy to pursue it ! The restaurant is hardly ever open , and I didnt see ANY evidence of basic things , like just a continental breakfast or decent snacks . For the money , I was expecting MORE .

We stayed overnight while in the area for a concert on Ojai. The property is charming and classic. Our room was small and a bit odd given the age of the hotel but having lived in east coast buildings built in the 1800s, it was just part of the time the property was built. We did not have any supernatural experiences during our stay. The bed was not terribly comfortable but for one night it was tolerable. The Glen Tavern Inn is worth checking out and the price for the area it good.

Listen, locals come here because it's rumored to be haunted... and that's fun, but pretty much the only reason I would submit to a horrible mattress that left my neck & shoulders in pain the next day, the sheer curtains that allow the sun to aggressively invade your room, and the one inch (at least) gap under the door that allows you to hear every single word of the housekeeping conversations early in the morning!

Hotel has a lot of history, room was okay a little on the small side, however for one night it was adequate. The bed on the other hand was uncomfortable too soft and gave us both a bad back the following day. There is a restaurant and bar I cannot comment on this as we didn’t use it. I don’t think I would return because of the uncomfortable bed.

We wanted to stay in Santa Paula to be close to our business. It's an old hotel and we knew that. It was an experience, a unique experience. Very comfortable beds but very, very old, dated, small, not the best bathrooms.

We checked in the hotel was very out dated but worse when we went into our room #218 the door had clearly recently been kicked in. Cracked shattered wood around a new lock keypad they put over the busted door. Chain lock was gone and painted over. Cracked shattered wood around a new lock keypad they put over the busted door. Chain lock was gone and painted over. The room was cold. It has a heater. I turned it up to 80 but, I have a thermometer and it was 42 at 11 p.m. I called the person on call . He said, you can complain about it tomorrow. I cant do anything. I will look for a space heater but no guarantee. I turned the heater all the way up to the maximum of 90 and it did kick it on and got the room up to about 70. It's an older and quaint and beautiful place but know that quaint often comes with things like no elevator, heaters that dont work properly etc.

Historic Inn. Definitely had an aged smell. Room was clean, no carpet. No hand towels, just one bath towel. Bed was comfortable. Bottled water provided in room. EV chargers on site was a bonus in private parking behind Inn. Closest hotel/motel to Thatcher School, where I needed to pick up my daughter.

Only 10 to 20 min to tje breach or any kind of shopping your heart desires. The staff is very accommodating and dropped everything to show me other unoccupied rooms. We only had a one night stay in this hotel. The hotel has a lot of history but it's quite run down and need a major lift. Also, no restaurant or breakfast available on site. Since Covid they never reopened the restaurant.

Every single staff member was pleasant and helpful. Enzo's is a great on site restaurant with a full bar. The Inn's location is great as you can walk to many restaurants. The downstairs area is open and allows for many people to hang out. This place has great personality.

We loved our stay here this weekend. Bed was comfy, water pressure was great and the staff was so friendly! The Italian restaurant is under new management and has a new chef, we tried the pig and fig pizza and it was SO yummy!

I REALLY wanted to like this hotel ; I grew up in the area and was looking forward to it . The front courtyard is nicely kept . The lobby area is lovely , but who really hangs around in a hotel lobby all the time ? The parking lot is VERY badly lighted at night . My room was very dusty - there was a THICK layer of dust on the top of the draperies , and when I accidentally dropped a pillow into the crevice between the bed and the wall , the pillow came back up covered with dirt/hair ! There is a 6"step up into each bathroom , with no reflective tape to keep you from stumbling during the night ; there IS a plaque on the wall warning you about it , but who looks UP when you are trying to navigate an unfamiliar place ? The toilet is inexplicably raised another 2" above the rest of the bathroom , again an area of potential injury. The sink was SO SLOW to drain that it was practically unusable. The TV did not work , and I tried several times to figure out that remote with no luck. There are no in-room phones , and frequently the posted phone number on the website was simply not picked up by the staff ! This required ANOTHER trip down the staircase to ask any questions or get help with an issue, and after long days spent going out to visit friends and family I simply didnt have the energy to pursue it ! The restaurant is hardly ever open , and I didnt see ANY evidence of basic things , like just a continental breakfast or decent snacks . For the money , I was expecting MORE .

This was a gorgeous hotel with very friendly staff and lovely rooms. It was an old hotel so as expected it had some old hotel charm and didn't have some of the modern amenities of a new hotel but we weren't looking for that. It was utterly charming. The restaurant was amazing. Food was wonderful in the piano player and was friendly and took many of our requests and played flawlessly. It was fun to hear the ghost stories from the staff and to tour the whole property.

This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The lobby and the room were exceptionally clean. The staff was polite and check-in was quick. The room was the size of any normal hotel room, but the high ceilings definitely make it feel bigger than your standard brand name hotel. Good location, very quiet, and ample parking. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.
