Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf

Nice room, All expectations were met and MORE. The Breakfast was fantastic. The fireplaces in front were a nice place to sit and converse. The Hotel staff were Great with Directions and suggestions. The close proximity to Fishermans Wharf, transportation and restaurants,was really convenient

There are so many reasons why I’d stay here again and again. The daily breakfast buffet is more like an all inconclusive Sunday brunch. It had everything and I mean everything. There is a bar onsite, it’s walking distance to the cable car depot (10 mins), pier 39 (15 mins) and is also along a local bus route. The RIU chain on a whole is amazing.

Older hotel, but clean and accessible. I had one complaint that there was no water to purchase after 10pm. We were told that we’d have to walk a block away to 7-eleven. A little disappointed with that comment. I went to the bar area and the bartender was able to accommodate me with some water. Other than that, it was good location, accessible to pier 39.

Great breakfast, room was clean and bed was comfortable. Parking on premise was convenient.

They let us in a bit earlier than checking time and thank you for that, yet in the room we saw spider web on the wall bathroom is very tiny no lotion provided, rooms look smaller than on the pictures parking lot is too small, 6 ft clearance, SUV had to park elsewhere. Smell in the room not super fresh, looks like hotel is older and still have popcorn on a ceiling.

Everything good!! Amazing location, garage parking very affordable. Easy walk to Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Warf. Wonderful outside spaces to lounge by the fire pits. The breakfast is fresh, and the choices were mind blowing! Smoked salmon, normal breakfast fare and brunch/sandwich options in a lovely dining area. A nice bar area and a grab and go with great hours and prices on such a great variety of foods and drinks. Our room was quiet and comfy. Will be our go to spot from now on.

Fantastic complimentary breakfast. Unbeatable location. Nice pool. Cozy outdoor seating areas with fireboxes. Pretty grounds. Everything clean and fresh-smelling. Excellent housekeeping—they shine above all other staff in friendliness.

Great location! Fitness center was small but functional and very clean. we had a view of the pool from our room and it was sparkling with ample seating. the breakfast buffet was AMAZING! highly recommend this hotel!

I Don't quite get the whole Microwave thing. That was very inconvenient. We would have items from China town we could not heat up unless we paid for a microwave.

Very very clean accommodation. The hotel is in a nice location. Easily walkable to wharf activities. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Overall, we were extremely satisfied.

Great location near scenic Fisherman's Wharf. Service was fine. Buffet breakfast included was generous and convenient but not high quality. Biggest problem was air quality in the room was terrible. AC window unit freezing or off and airless hot. Noise from street and in hallway. Mold or dirt or something in the room made us all have runny noses, sneezing, headache, and bloodshot eyes, only relieved by leaving the room. Lobby was ugly and inhospitable. The whole place needs an update and renovations. Very run down. It didn't ruin our vacation and it was ok but really pretty uncomfortable. Wish I had stayed somewhere nicer and regret booking this hotel which was well reviewed online. Stay somewhere else.

Very clean!

Cleanliness and comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast. Only negative was that we were on first floor by the road which was very, very noisy all night. Another family member was by the entrance to the hallway. They kept hearing the banging of the door opening and closing.

Amenity is old. I have to go to CVS to buy tooth brush and tooth paste. AC is loud. Bedsheet and cover do not look very clean. Some staff seem cold and unfriendly. Overall, it is overpriced hotel and the services provided does not match the price it charges.

Room small and dirty

We did have problems with our toilet make nosies spiders in our room and dirty spots in bathroom floor. Not enough wash clothes. We were asked to leave the pool area before 10 925. Breakfast had awide variety if food but most was cold and then line form were guest are trying to get their suitcases down the ramp. When we complained about some of theses issues our concerns were dismissed

Helpful and friendly stuff although I would renew the TV sets. It was a pity that streaming platforms were not available…

Our room was a bit dated and the toilet didn't work. It happened in the evening and the maintenance guy came and said he had to replace the toilet. We had to take the garbage pail and fill it with water, then dump it in the toilet to flush it. It was also very noisy in our 2107 room with outside traffic and someone beside us with music cranked up. Not happy at all!

The rooms facing the street were really loud and could hear all the people outside, the cars and trams driving past throughout the night and also the refuge trucks were very noising when emptying the bins at 4am every night.

Electrical outlets in room, it was hard to keep phone chargers plugged in. They would slip out often. Door to toilet and shower area opens inward to a very small space, making it difficult to enter and exit.

Excellent buffet breakfast Clean room - we booked a King but they talked us into changing to two queens siting better floor- but the beds are hardly queens- would put as a double - and very soft. Windows are thin - very noisy street outside. we had the third floor and an elephant on the 4th walking above (pacing back and forth) - Location is excellent - walking distance to Trader Joes, Fishermans Wharf; cable car- if you can get an inner courtyard room -

Great location and close to many key attractions like Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39 and Alcatraz. Hotel is looking a little bit dated now and the room we were in (4601) was incredibly noisy, given poor sound proofing and being adjacent to a crossroads, tram line and bus station. Ear plugs were essential for half decent nights sleep.

Overall, our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious, and the cleaning crew went above and beyond by making a special little setup for my daughter’s stuffed animal, which she loved. The only drawback was the noise from outside—traffic and late-night shouting woke my wife and me up. Better soundproof windows would make the experience even better.

Very comfy and good location. The breakfast is really good. The wifi is really bad though so if you are willing to do any online call or work you'd better find another alternative. I think they need to improve it.

Clean, comfortable, and generally spacious rooms. Walkable to Fisherman's Wharf attractions. Expensive parking available. The unavoidable "resort" fee for what is hardly a resort. Overall, par for the course in such a touristy area. Two notes about the otherwise great room: bathroom is very small (door practically opens against toilet); and the corridor noise goes through the door unmuffled.

Hotel was previously a Sheraton. Room was comfortable though beds were a bit soft for us. Shower and toilet area was small and closing its door was a bit tricky. Soap and shampoo dispensers were wall mounted and required you squeeze them rather than a pump on top. Included buffet breakfast was excellent and added value to the stay here. Parking cost of $60 was excessive, but the lot was convenient.

Proximity to the piers. Staff helped us out several times. Very nice!

Management quickly responded with a solution to our room problem by immediately upgrading our room for no charge.

Excellent experience from check in to check out. Knowledgeable and friendly helpful staff throughout the entire premises. Excellent breakfast buffet as well! We will definitely stay there again!

Customer service was extremely rude. When booking I was not told about using a parking structure across from the hotel because of my Wagoneer’s height. Not only was it an extra expense but an inconvenience. The white male that attended us when checking in was extremely curt and racist he didn’t want to bother with us as we discussed the parking situation he actually just gave me my id back assuming we were not going to stay. I did not speak to his supervisor because I was there to celebrate and move in my son to Berkeley I needed to stay positive for my family.

The hotel and facilities were great. Perfect location with great walkability. Unfortunately the staff are poorly trained, their computer systems go down often and the staff placed their patrons in physical danger because of their poor service. Due to their system being "down" they asked us to move from the Riu Class check in line to the front of the line for non-members. The other patrons felt as if we were cutting the line and became disgruntled. The staff were aware people were upset but did nothing. Then a man started screaming obscenities and physically getting in my personal space saying I disrespected other people and he was going to beat me (using multiple profanities) and kick my teeth in. I said nothing except to the front desk attendant that was checking me in to please get security. She said nothing to the man but another person went to get security. The man continued to verballly assault me in front of my children and other guests to the point other guests were crying, yet did nothing. Additional staff came out and the man backed up about 6 feet but did not leave. They actually allowed him and his wife to start checking in at the counter next to me as the security guard escorted me and my family to our room. The staff never followed up with me and our entire stay I was frightened of seeing them again. I requested to speak to a manager from the phone in our room and went up to the desk during our stay but the manager was always busy.

Staff was rude. Unpleasant and check in totally awful. It made the whoke stay merserible. SCARLETT, front desk staff was rude, dismissive and unprofessional

Great location and easily walkable to Pier 39. I read many reviews about the great breakfast buffet and it did not disappoint. It can get very busy for breakfast but they are extremely organized and get you in quickly. They held our bags before check in so we could explore a bit until our room was ready. Spacious clean rooms.

Staff was great, even found and shipped back my 6 year olds gaming console that was left behind. Breakfast and pool were both also great and loved all the fire pits.

Nice room, friendly staff, especially the bell man. The breakfast was disappointing. Location is excellent at walking distance of fisherman's wharf. Be aware that the parking is not suitable for bigger cars. we had to park in the parking across the street, but this was cheaper than the one in the hotel.

Lovely hotel in a great location for the Golden Gate Bridge, Pier 39 the Cable Cars and Lombard street.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION ... Just about anything that anyone might want to do is very close by and very walkable... restaurants, the wharf, the piers, Alcatraz excursion. That is why we chose it ... LOCATION!!!

Excellent location, easily walkable to all the places we wanted to visit. Felt safe and easy parking. We were concerned our car may have been over height, there is a 6ft limit but we got in fine. However you can also use the parking in the hotel opposite which has a greater height allowance. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean, bright and had everything you could need. Breakfast was good but extremely busy, we had to queue for approx 25 mins one morning as we came down a little later. Quick and easy checkout, would stay here again

Hotel was very near and walkable to Alcatraz tour, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Cable car, Ghirardelli square, Boudin Bakery, great restaurants

Nice hotel but area around hotel is a bit unsafe with homeless people sleeping everywhere begging for money. Would not bring young family back here again.

This hotel is in a great location. It takes less than 5 minutes to walk to Fisherman’s Wharf/Pier 39 and about 10 minutes to walk to Ghiradhelli Square. Plenty of parking and the hotel charges approx $60 to park which was less than some other hotels in the area. We had a slight view of Golden Gate Brisge from our window. The hotel is older, but was clean.

We love this location because it was so close to Fisherman's Wharf and the downtown attractions in San Francisco. The breakfast was delicious, so many options! The room was great! Michelle at the front desk was awesome! She upgraded my room and was so friendly and courteous.

Nice clean rooms.. plus a wide variety of breakfast buffet was the highlight for me.

I didn't like that breakfast area was small and that the staff in the breakfast where very rude and wanted to control everything. Ive been to many hotels and this was a first where they ask room number and they aske for everyone to be present at the same time.

Nice hotel but non servic eoriented. Breakfast is a nightmare, I had the impression to work at the factory and not to spend a nice time in family. The customer is not at all in the center of the organisation and you just receive orders and orders: wait there, seat there etc... The worst breakfast in 18 days.

Best hotel breakfast...but the line was super long and crowded. First floor room had street sounds all night and they put us in a handicap room that we didn't need and the shower didn't work properly. The food is good and the bellman Abdur was an excellent person. He helped us make a really smooth exit and arranged beautiful transportation to cruise terminal pier 27

We stayed for two days, and the best thing about the hotel is its excellent location—everything is within walking distance. However, what we found very disappointing was that we purchased our stay with breakfast included, but we weren’t able to enjoy it. The lines for breakfast were over an hour long. On the first day, we went down to the restaurant at 9:00 AM and there were about 150 people ahead of us. On the second day, we tried to save time by going down at 7:00 AM, but the line was still endless. It was simply impossible. Additionally, we were given a handicap-accessible room, and the bathroom was very uncomfortable. There was no space to put our toiletries or get ready—just a very small sink. If I return to the same hotel, I definitely won’t purchase the breakfast option again.

Nice property near the center of the pier 39. Big and well-maintained building. Favorable check in (3PM) and checkout (12PM!!!) Very good and reach breakfast comparing to other hotels in the US There were huge lines during checking (3PM) and breakfast (9:00 - 9:30 AM)

Fabulous hotel. Excellent location next to Pier 39 terrific breakfast each morning with a great variety. After checking out, hours later, my daughter realized she left her beats headphones in our room, and the staff was helpful in getting them back to her.
