Fantastic little old style but funky updated hotel with a motel feel. Our family of four had a King Quad suite - with safe, mini fridge, 2x TV's and air conditioning. The pool/hot tub area is small but lovely. The hammocks and lounge area are also a great place to hang out. The ice machine is beside the pool, the gym is small but well appointed and has a cold filtered water machine which we used to refill our water bottle daily. The hotel is a few blocks off the beach so it's quiet but close to lots of dining options. It's about a 20 minute drive to Santa Monica Pier. It's also close to (within a 5 minute drive) to: Costco, Trader Joe's, Aldi's, In and Out Burger and Chick-fil-A. There's a cute little old school bar across the street and a laundry mat. Other than the $30 a night parking fee the Kinney was perfect for us 😍

The front desk staff was great and accommodating! Parking is $22 a night. The pool and hot tub were amazing and there’s a great area to hang out!

So disappointed. We called to book a room specifically because we were hoping to use the hot tub. The person we spoke with confirmed that the hot tub was open and hot, but when we arrived the water was freezing cold. We asked the front desk if they could turn it up but they insisted they could not and also said that it was cold because it was a rainy day. Having a hot tub at home, I know that once you set it to a specific temperature, as long as it’s working, it will stay at that temperature despite rain, snow, etc. They could have been upfront about the hot tub being cold or not working, and we wouldn’t have made a reservation with them. I am appalled by the level of service, and I cannot recommend staying here.

Overall very happy with our stay at the Kinney. The website made it look amazing but the facilities were a little old and the location was a bit far from the beach. The gym needs a refurbishing badly.

The KeyCard is sensitive. So sensitive that I have to place the keycard in my bra. I cannot place the card near my phone or else it will deactivate, I cannot place it in my wallet or else it will deactivate because of credit cards. I was never made aware of it, so when I came to the hotel late, I could not have access to our room so we had to go to the front desk to find out it was sensitive and have the card reactivated. I was using the toilet when the guests above me started to shower (you can hear everything, thin walls/floors) Then the light fixture above me was leaking water all over me and the floor. I almost threw up because it was so disgusting. The only thing they did as an apology was refund my parking. I received a defective room and in turn, the supervisor waived a parking fee that I was fine to pay for. The incident and the return does not correlate whats so ever. If I didnt have the car, they wouldnt have done anything. I want a refund on one night because the room was defective ;-;;

This is a good hotel for the price. Location is fine if you don’t mind a bit of a walk to the beach and restaurants. We didn’t mind that. Close to the marina. Staff are nice. A couple of things that weren’t so great. It is really nice having the little pool and jacuzzi. However I was put off by the dead flies floating in the pool and dirt on the base of the pool. Next day it was the same. Our room had a smell of damp and unfortunately the windows didn’t open. So after a shower when it felt like there was a lot of moisture around we ended up leaving our room door open to circulate air. We washed some swimming costumes out after swimming but they just didn’t really dry as the levels of humidity in the room were too high. Overall this is a good hotel and for this area it represents good value for money.

I took my wife and two kids to spend the weekend in LA. We rented a room at your hotel had no problems stay was pretty good. The only problem was which was a problem. The first night was good. They did not clean our room the first night we let it go cause we really were OK for one more day the next day again, a room was not cleaned talk to the people at the front desk. They look at all reports. All report shows that our room was missed our room was not on any employees report expected to get a better deal because of this only got free parking was disappointed. Was hoping for at least one night free other than that stay was OK.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this property! The room was clean, and we loved relaxing in the hot tub every night. The only downside was that our room faced the main road, making it extremely noisy, as the soundproofing wasn’t great. If we had a different room, this wouldn’t have been an issue. The WiFi was also quite slow, but since we didn’t come to LA to be on our phones, it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, we had a great time! I’d recommend The Kinney for its convenient location—about a 20-minute walk to the ocean and marina—and its proximity to great local restaurants. 😊

Great room and very good level of cleanliness. Within walking distance of the beach and a host of other amenities, such as shops, eateries, bars, etc. The only downside was the closeness to main road / boulevard.

Travelled with family and booked multiple rooms mid-week. Not crowded and easy to find. We especially loved that there was a parking garage and security (always staff in lobby and throughout the hotel). The mini suites had extra space for our babies to play. The room was primarily clean though we came across a screw on the floor. Overall it was in good condition. We were impressed by the updated bathrooms & room designs. AC was not working in one of the rooms so it needed switching out. We had hoped to stay close together, so that was our only complaint. Otherwise, nice walkability to breakfast, coffee, and restaurants. Staff and service were excellent. They were kind, responsive, welcoming, and accommodating! Made for a smooth stay for our family. No microwaves in the room- just in the lobby. Adorable patio to hang out and eat, along with hammocks. Just a short 5 min drive to Marina del rey harbor. They also have cute bikes to rent out. Would stay here again.

Staff are very helpful, the quad area is fun and relaxing, it’s a very clean hotel. It’s a good location, lots of dining options a short walk or drive away. Close enough to the beach and tourist areas that it’s walkable, without being in the middle of it all. Would stay again and recommend to others

OH EM GEEEE... you have to stay here!! It was amazing! Our only complaint was that we had to leave so soon. The pool, the swing, everything was great. The front desk guy was so kind and nice. We enjoyed every bit of this stay. We already cant wait to get back.

So close to Venice beach and great dining options. The beds were comfortable, hot showers, and plenty of towels. The pool area was never busy, although it was very small. There were scooters on the sidewalk to rent and access the beach area easily and in a fun way! My husband and I loved our 4 night stay and would stay again!

We had a great time, staff was accommodating, the room was clean and orderly, it was very close to lot of extracurricular activity and it was a great walk to the beach. I literally walked to the beach every single day in the morning and it was beautiful.

I liked the location. It was central to where I wanted go. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wish they offered some kind of breakfast and maybe an outdoor bar. Parking was $20 per night and not included in the price of your stay. No valet, so for $20 it was self parking. Otherwise, the rooms were clean, large (we had the room with two queen beds) and I thought the beds were very comfortable.
