Older hotel but recently renovated. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. My room was on the 2nd floor and stairs were the only option, so I struggled with my suitcase and bags, especially on the way up. My room apparently overlooked the indoor pool but the window was opaque and the drapes did not open, so it was cavelike.

Excellent front desk employees. Clean, largely quiet renovated building. Pool was closed. Rooms are clean but very basic. Excellent bedding. WiFi decent. No in-room safe. No elevator to second floor which could have been problematic for disabled individuals. I had a ten day stay and nothing was mentioned about housekeeping frequency on check-in. After the 4th night I had to ask the front desk to have my room refreshed particularly because I had no additional towels. Housekeeping then occurred irregularly until check out.

Excellent moderate accommodations. Extra clean, quiet, super friendly staff. Large refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.Walking distance to numerous restaurants, grocery stores, dollar stores and coffee shops. Convenient to I-81. Only downside was the indoor pool was being worked on and wasn't open.

The beds were so comfortable and having a full fridge and microwave was really convenient. There is a pool but the door was always locked. I never saw anyone use it. The staff was hit or miss. Some mornings the free coffee in the lobby was full and fresh which is a nice bonus but other mornings it was never refilled after the first pot. We stayed here because we were moving our daughter to Cornell and we were not paying $350 or more for 2 star hotels near the school. We were happy we chose this hotel. Cute town and beautiful drive to Cornell with no traffic and lots of food choices in the area. If you are looking to book it for the pool I would not suggest it but if you need a nice, safe comfortable room with PLENTY of space, comfy beds and a friendly town this would be a great choice.

We needed overnight accomodations to rest up for the last leg of our trip. The property was tidy, the lobby and our room were updated and very clean. The hallway had that 'hotel pool ' odor. The pool was closed for repairs. The hallway carpet wasn't clean.

Pool was not open, but didn't expect there to be one. Note that there is no elevator. Otherwise, the stay was wonderful. Taco Bell and Starbucks are a short walk away. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I tried to book my wife in a few days later, but no vacancy. I wish I could find this value everywhere!

This was fine for a 2 night stay. The pool is right off the lobby. You smell chlorine as soon as you walk in. We did not use the pool, but our room on the first floor was right next to it and you could hear some pool activity. Nope of this was a problem. The shower curtain did not come down to the floor and there was water on the bathroom floor which made it very slippery. We mopped it up with towels but it seems like this could easily be prevented. Coffee in the am appreciated. Dunkin and gas across the street. May opt for a [lace with breakfast next time,

The hotel is very clean. Although there were many air fresheners in the hallways that set off my allergies. Front desk staff on arrival was extremely friendly. There was no one at the front desk for our departure.

The hotel staff do their jobs. Looks like they renovated the hotel but done cheaply. The halls are filled with strong air freshener spraying constantly like they are covering up a smell. The first room we got, had water damage in the bathroom and I suspect mold because my chest was tight the next morning after sleeping there and my son started wheezing. That morning, I asked for another room and they gave us that but that room vent in the bathroom was oozing dust, like it hadn’t been clean in years. That night my son asthma flared despite giving him treatment around the clock from when it start and at 4a, I had to take him to the ED. I would not recommend this hotel.

Everything was fine except for the flooring. The imitation wood floor throughout the room (no carpets anywhere) was not clean. No visible dirt, but when I tried to clean up a bit of talcum powder, the kleenex came up black. Similar results in all three places in the room including the bathroom. I showed the desk clerk the tissue upon checking out.

The room was clean, but there was leftover food in the refrigerator. The tub drain was rusty/corroded. The towel bar was coming loose. There really should be a light over the sink. The USB ports did not work. None of these were big issues.

The property is nice, and new, but there is a lot of walking and stairs if you’re staying on the second floor. Very poor layout with stairwells. It’s a very long walk to certain rooms and you can’t use a luggage cart upstairs, so that’s useless. The pool was not open for some reason, and I noticed that the room itself had an ironing board and iron but no plug to plug it in! They were hardly any plugs in the room. There’s a huge mirror in the room entrance but you can’t get ready there and dry your hair or plug in a curling iron because there is no electrical outlets there! The iron and ironing board in the room are useless because there’s nowhere to plug them in. this room was not well thought out. Also, there is no lighting in the kitchen area.

Overall, it was clean and comfortable. Good beds and pillows. Only 2 things bothered me. The light from outside prevented me from getting a good night's sleep (No curtains-only a shade), and only one overhead light, with none in the kitchen area.

Booked 2 Queens and got 2 full size instead. Floor in room was unusually crooked and not level on ground level floor. Bed frames were cheap lightweight rolling bedframes that moved every time we sat on the bed, feeling very unstable. The staff at check in was fine. Overall the hotel was clean.

The room was clean and fairly comfortable. The kitchenette was great and the fridge was bigger than expected which was nice. The only “complaint” I have is that although my room had a window, it was frosted over so you couldn’t see through or receive natural light through it… which is good since it was an interior room overlooking the (indoor) swimming pool. Had I stayed for more than one night, I would have asked to move. The facilities were clean, quiet, and located right off the highway.

Convenient to Cortland College. It was clean. We were replaced in a room that did not have a window. There was frosted glass that looked like a window, but led to the pool. Without a window, there is literally no natural light and everything that took place in the pool you could hear through that ‘window’. The bathroom had a sink as if you were in a public restroom with no countertop. It was extremely odd.

Beautifully remodeled. The lobby and pool area is gorgeous and modern. The rooms are spacious with a large refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker(single cup unfortunately) and sink. The bathroom has nice fixtures and is elegant.

The original room they gave me was not cleaned by housekeeping. I went back to the check in line and had to get a new room. The desk attendant apologized, and the 2nd room they gave me was good. The rooms are basic, but the bed was comfortable, and the room was clean.

We booked a stay way in advance. When we went to check in they gave our room away. The room was paid for in FULL. They did give us a refund. However, i had to drive 30 minutes out of the way to find another hotel that cost double the price. When I called red roof in customer service and explained the situation they told me "check in is at 4 and you didnt check in, in time, so we gave your room away."

The hotel was generally okay, but the overpowering smell of bleach or some other chemical when you enter was very unpleasant and off-putting. Our room (#104) had a King bed, but unfortunately, the HVAC system wasn’t working. I called the front desk late at night, and while the staff member said maintenance could look at it in the morning, she also offered to move us to another room. However, no King bed rooms were available, and since it was already past midnight and we were exhausted, we decided to stay in the room we had paid for. The next morning, we reminded the front desk about the HVAC issue, but when we returned for our second night, the problem still wasn’t fixed. The room remained hot and stuffy, making it uncomfortable to sleep. The next morning, we reminded the front desk about the HVAC issue, but when we returned for our second night, the problem still wasn’t fixed. The room remained hot and stuffy, making it uncomfortable to sleep. Excellent front desk employees. Clean, largely quiet renovated building. Pool was closed. Rooms are clean but very basic. Excellent bedding. WiFi decent. No in-room safe. No elevator to second floor which could have been problematic for disabled individuals. I had a ten day stay and nothing was mentioned about housekeeping frequency on check-in. After the 4th night I had to ask the front desk to have my room refreshed particularly because I had no additional towels. Housekeeping then occurred irregularly until check out.

The room was spacious, clean and the beds had soft sheets. The staff at the front desk was never there. Always had to wait for the front desk clerk. Kids kept banging on our door and running. The sink was stopped up with coffee grinds from the previous guest I guess. Room phone didn’t work. Lots of places to eat near by.

It was clean and staff was friendly. However, the first room we were given had people in it and smelled of smoke, I walked in because the front desk had assigned me that room and gave me a key lol surprise! I had to get a new room after I had checked in, it was fine but left me with a weird feeling. How do you not know the room is occupied??

Our stay at Home Towne Studios was quite pleasant and comfortable! The room was clean and spacious, and the staff was welcoming and friendly, even with our very late check-in! Cortland is only a 30 minute easy drive to Cornell University and an affordable option when visiting that campus. We will definitely stay at this hotel again if we are in the area and will definitely like to enjoy their impressive indoor swimming pool next time.

If you’re looking for an easy in, easy out, clean, quiet hotel with a spacious room and roomy bathroom, this is your place. Very competitive pricing IMO. Five minute drive, or less, into downtown. Seconds to the interstate. We were visiting our son who attends college here.

The beds were so comfortable and having a full fridge and microwave was really convenient. There is a pool but the door was always locked. I never saw anyone use it. The staff was hit or miss. Some mornings the free coffee in the lobby was full and fresh which is a nice bonus but other mornings it was never refilled after the first pot. We stayed here because we were moving our daughter to Cornell and we were not paying $350 or more for 2 star hotels near the school. We were happy we chose this hotel. Cute town and beautiful drive to Cornell with no traffic and lots of food choices in the area. If you are looking to book it for the pool I would not suggest it but if you need a nice, safe comfortable room with PLENTY of space, comfy beds and a friendly town this would be a great choice.

This was fine for a 2 night stay. The pool is right off the lobby. You smell chlorine as soon as you walk in. We did not use the pool, but our room on the first floor was right next to it and you could hear some pool activity. Nope of this was a problem. The shower curtain did not come down to the floor and there was water on the bathroom floor which made it very slippery. We mopped it up with towels but it seems like this could easily be prevented. Coffee in the am appreciated. Dunkin and gas across the street. May opt for a [lace with breakfast next time,

The area outside the hotel smelled awful (highways and manure— not the hotels fault but still). The front desk staff were kind of grouchy. We were only given 2 towels for 4 people and they were never changed over a 5 night stay. They advertise coffee in the lobby but it wasn’t prepared anytime I went through. Little things, but overall made for a mediocre stay.
