Stayed here for 5 nights in May and the location is great in the old town Staff were very attentive and great service. Hotel is nicely styled, better in our opinion than more modern plain style - we liked it. Had breakfast at hotel 4 mornings and pre-booked this was at a special rate which made it worthwhile. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and had everything we needed. Curtains don’t fully cover window so some light does get in - if you like a dark room then bring sleep mask. Use of pool (small - can’t do laps but pleasant) plus steam room / sauna included. Can use hamman. Would recommend staying at this hotel for location and service, glad we stayed here

This hotel was beautiful! It is a small boutique hotel where the room was amazing with such a comfortable bed, robes and slippers. The spa facilities were lovely with the pool water temperature perfect. The staff were super helpful and the breakfast the best I have ever had in a hotel. The location is perfectly situated near all the main sites.

Wonderful boutique hotel, walkable near the mosques and bazaar. Decor is outstanding. The pool, turkish bath, steam room and saunas are incredible. Massage services are provided for an extra cost that is well worth it after a plan flight. Complimentary tea time with sweets and fruit should not be missed. The staff was so kind and assisted with airport transit. Our room was the royal suit for 4 with shower and spa tub and stocked mini bar. I would return. Not overcrowded perfect.

The olive restuarant affiliated with Romance was excellent. We ate there 2x. The pool was fantastic after a long day. Bring a swim cap or they have them there for a small fee. I did the hamman scrub which was excellent. Very close to all. Daily tea time was nice. I would stay here again!

I love this boutique hotel. The SPA is so relaxing. Defintely the Turkish Bath and optional pay services for massage. Tea time is complimemtary each day. Breakfast a modest fee pp but excellent. The rooftop restaurant Olive is excellent for views and Turkish cuisine. The staff is very accomodating and attentive. Your well located to walk to a number of historic mosques and palace plus the grand bizarre

The staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was excellent with many choices and good quality food. The location of the hotel is great (Sirkeci is a very busy neighbourhood though) as the hotel is in walking distance to many touristic attractions. The swimming pool is very small but we were happy with the steam room, Turkish bath, and sauna. Overall, I recommend the hotel if you want to stay in the European side of Istanbul.

A special mention to the lovely Turkish lady at breakfast each day. Her smile and warmth was lovely and you would look forward to seeing her each day. The room was clean and well kept with lots of storage space. Though located on the train line the noise was reduced by I think very good glazing on windows and doors. The Romance Hotel would be my number one spot on a return visit to Istanbul.

During the first night a very bad smell was in our room (4406) which made it nearly impossible to sleep in the room. We did not recognize the smell during our check in as the room was enriched with perfume. We turned on the heater and opened the windows which was not the most comfortable situation given the oustide temperature. Next day we changed the room and got an upgrade to a Suite. However, during a two night stay this was quite upsetting and it seems that the problem is known. So, make sure that you ask for a room without any smell! Overall, the service at the costumer desk was very good and a young men helped us during our check out and with the luggage etc. so the hotel has a good service level.

The hotel is very comfortable, clean & really welcoming. From meeting us when the taxi pulled up to talking us through all the tourist attractions & travel options everyone was really helpful. The bed was super comfy, there was a lot of pillow options, the shower was super & the room service food good value & very tasty

We enjoyed the room for the most part Fridge was very small and it was full of only items you could buy no space for anything else . Staff for the most part was good, there’s was a slight conflict with breakfast (which the tradition Turkish breakfast everything is cold or room temp) and charges on my account but we came to a common conclusion. There is no ice machine you have to ask which is fine. It was clean, spacious, Overall i would give it a solid 4 , The area is surrounded by so many restaurants that u can always eat good and outside !

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and will book it again in the future. The hotel is well located in the historic area of Istanbul. It was an easy walk to the major landmarks of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. The tram is directly outside the hotel if you wish to avoid walking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The welcome juice and lokum was well received after a long day travelling from Greece. We stayed in a room with a king and single bed which was spacious. It was on the first floor and although I was worried about the street noise it was actually very quiet! The shower is quite small which was not a problem for us but might be an issue if you are larger. We also used the private car to go to and from the airport and the service was excellent. We had room service the first night which was excellent and was delivered within 20 minutes of ordering! The breakfast in the hotel was excellent. We also ate at the hotel recommended restaurant Olive Anatolian which was very good, and also really enjoyed the meal and service at New Hatay just near the hotel.

The location is excellent, short walk to all the main sites such as The Blue Mosque, Cistern and Hagia Sophia. For a city centre hotel the rooms are a good size and the price is reasonable. The staff are outstanding, very professional and helpful at all times. Breakfast buffet has a wide range plus cooked dishes are available. The clear glass walls (with net curtains) in the bathroom are certainly different!

Wonderful hotel! Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a separate seating area with its own TV. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel’s location in the old city is excellent - a ten minute walk from Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque or Topaki Palace. For other locations, the superb and easy to use Istanbul tramway is literally outside the front door (but can’t be heard inside the hotel). Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful property, the breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff was very helpful. The room was beautiful but small (typical for Europe). No wash cloths in the bath, again; typical for European hotels. The biggest detractors are the location. It apparently is not accessible via automobile because our transfer van and our transfer van to the cruise terminal both parked uphill and around the corner from the hotel requiring us to drag our bags about 50 m over cobblestone. This was especially challenging again for my wife and me having to drag three of the four bags myself while she drug the fourth bag. There is a metro trolley that runs in front of the hotel and is quite noisy. I suggest then to request a room away from the street front. Otherwise, a great stay that is very close to the hagia Sophia.

Great room on the 5th floor, with a full-length balcony - 4502 overlooking the main street and the Black Tulip hotel. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and will book it again in the future. The hotel is well located in the historic area of Istanbul. It was an easy walk to the major landmarks of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. The tram is directly outside the hotel if you wish to avoid walking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The welcome juice and lokum was well received after a long day travelling from Greece. We stayed in a room with a king and single bed which was spacious. It was on the first floor and although I was worried about the street noise it was actually very quiet! The shower is quite small which was not a problem for us but might be an issue if you are larger. We also used the private car to go to and from the airport and the service was excellent. We had room service the first night which was excellent and was delivered within 20 minutes of ordering! The breakfast in the hotel was excellent. We also ate at the hotel recommended restaurant Olive Anatolian which was very good, and also really enjoyed the meal and service at New Hatay just near the hotel.

The Romance Istanbul Hotel has a fantastic location with easy walks to Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace, and the tram lines. The hotel itself has a superb breakfast buffet, lovely comfortable rooms, and the best staff that I have ever encountered in 50 years of traveling. I truly felt sad leaving for the cruise ship. I can’t recommend it enough! And special thanks to Hakan and Onder for their help and restaurant recommendations!

The staff at this property was exceptional. Helpful, gracious, polite and went the extra mile. Wonderful accommodations in a great location. The only challenge we had was the taxi driver didn’t know where to drop us off. Even though the hotel is in a great location, the street in front of the hotel is used only for the tram line.

We arrived late in the evening and received a warm welcome. The room clean and perfect for having a restful sleep. In the morning, we had a wonderful walk to the Blue Mosque and surrounding historical sites. The hotel is centrally located and short walk to the Egyptian Bazaar. We look forward to visiting Istanbul Romance Hotel on our next visit.

The location is excellent, short walk to all the main sites such as The Blue Mosque, Cistern and Hagia Sophia. For a city centre hotel the rooms are a good size and the price is reasonable. The staff are outstanding, very professional and helpful at all times. Breakfast buffet has a wide range plus cooked dishes are available. The clear glass walls (with net curtains) in the bathroom are certainly different!

Wonderful hotel! Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a separate seating area with its own TV. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel’s location in the old city is excellent - a ten minute walk from Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque or Topaki Palace. For other locations, the superb and easy to use Istanbul tramway is literally outside the front door (but can’t be heard inside the hotel). Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful property, the breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff was very helpful. The room was beautiful but small (typical for Europe). No wash cloths in the bath, again; typical for European hotels. The biggest detractors are the location. It apparently is not accessible via automobile because our transfer van and our transfer van to the cruise terminal both parked uphill and around the corner from the hotel requiring us to drag our bags about 50 m over cobblestone. This was especially challenging again for my wife and me having to drag three of the four bags myself while she drug the fourth bag. There is a metro trolley that runs in front of the hotel and is quite noisy. I suggest then to request a room away from the street front. Otherwise, a great stay that is very close to the hagia Sophia.

What a beautiful hotel! It’s very convenient to the tram so we had an easy time getting to the things we wanted to see. The buffet breakfast was very good—I liked that we could place an order for something like waffles or an omelet in addition to the buffet. The service was excellent on all levels. Also, they are partners with an hotel behind this hotel that has a beautiful rooftop restaurant for dinner. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much!
