Lovely room, only downside (which is on their website) is that it is upstairs with no lift so as long as you don’t mind carrying luggage up 2 flights you will be fine. The property is close to town but up a long steep hill so you need to be prepared to walk. There is good parking around and at the property though.

Great historic and lovely view in a magnificent town, Launceston N Central Tasmania. The area is filled with vineyards and top quality restaurants are numerous. This hotel is however quite a challenge for anyone with mobility issues especially if you’re on the second floor.

Lovely old heritage building, the room was mostly clean and comfortable there seemed to be an issue with cracking and the paint on one wall near the bed (partially hidden by a wardrobe) and quite a few cobwebs on the high ceilings but we booked a special discounted rate so expected a not so perfect room. The shower was one of the best hotel showers I’ve had with plenty of hot water and good strong pressure. There aren’t many parking spots so when it’s busy it could become an issue.

A great location, a gorgeous old building, close to the heart of Launceston. Great restaurants and parks close by, with on site parking, it all made for a lovely stay. A warm welcome from the staff and a lovely big room overlooking the park and river in the distance made for a most enjoyable stay.

Waratah is a beautifully renovated historic building located on one the hills in Launceston. The room was large and well apponted. The bathroom is new and spotless. The bed is very comfortable. They do not serve any food so come prepared. There are a number of good cafes and restaurants, however, you need to drive or get an Uber/taxl. Yhe hill is too steep for a comfortable walk. There are numerous steps between the car pak and the front door.

Very good value for money for such a tranquil and beautiful place with very spacious room. Parking our Hilux was a bit challenging, but it didn’t take away from the overall charm of the experience. Highly recommended.

As we were arriving out of hours we were given clear and detailed instructions on how to check in. We appreciated the heater being on in our room, which was very clean. The updated bathroom with a spacious bath was a highlight. Although checking out at 10am we were able to arrange with the helpful receptionist to leave our bags in our room and collect them later on the way to the airport. Would love to stay here again and upgrade to a room with a view of the River.

Lovely place to stay. We stayed in the king room with spa bath, there were ants on the windows and near the spa but I cleaned that up and then we decided to have a spa on night of out stay and when we turned it on a lot of black/brown stuff came out of the jets so we had to get out - waste of water but definitely hadn’t been run in a while as the water became filthy - other than that room was lovely and spacious with a spectacular view, comfy bed.

Big clean rooms and welcoming reception lady. However there were some issues during our stay. First, staying in the unit on the ground level makes it impossible to open the windows as all of them are facing the walking path and the road and there is no air con in the units. Second, on the first day the hot water was running out in the middle of the shower. When reported, the manager said that the single hot water tank is shared between the two units. Which means that if another unit had a good shower, no hot water is left for another unit and the solution is to wait 3-4 hours until the water is hot again! Want to see this manager in a middle of the shower, soapy with no hot water on the cold evening... Definitely not the 4 star property. Won't stay there again.

Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was great, with plenty of space for 2 people's bits and pieces. We didn't have a car, but it was walkable distance to City Park and a bit further to the city centre for shops and dining options. The surrounding area was quiet. Check-in was easy enough with the instructions sent to us.
