Lakeland Resort Taupo

Staff was excellent 5 ⭐ service staff were all very friendly and professional, pool tennis court and spa restaurant and bar were very good comfortable rooms!

This is the second time I have stayed at Lakeland Resort. We had an upstairs unit. The pool is great on a hot day to cool down and is nice and clean. It was good to have all the Sky Sports channels as not a lot of hotels do nowadays. The staff were extremely friendly and the dinner and breakfast options very good at a reasonable price. The only thing that let the room down were some rather tired looking leather chairs that had seen better days. Apart from that, we would happily return.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff who checked us in quickly. Although an older property, the facilities are good and are well maintained, the swimming pool was clean and a great alternative to the lake.

Great parking with trailer and largely not visible from the road. Good hot tub, convenient location. Aged but very comfortable.

Nice location. Nice pool and spa. Hot conditions and no air conditioning detracted from us using the resort again. Also didn't like having to climb into a bath for a shower, rather difficult for a mobility restricted person. Need a lift to access the upper level. Laundry out of order so couldn't do our washing.

Has good facilities available without having to leave the property. Unfortunately, some other guests (road work crew) decided to start drinking, laughing, talking loudly outside our unit at 5.30 a.m. and were still 'at it' 3 hrs later when we left. Extremely inconsiderate.

Great truck parking

Great parking. Was able to park my trailer with bikes on right outside my room for security & peace of mind. Definitely be using this place for our next event in Taupo.

Nice view . Bed comfy , good off street parking . Room very dated . Mould in bathroom . Loose electrical sockets . A old used shower cap left in bathroom floor behind bin . Arcoroc coffee mugs . Room so dusty . Furniture extremely bad wear n tear . Cobwebs. Emailing directly photos to resort.

Nice staff. Rooms dated, scuffed and marked furniture. Mould on bathroom seals in 3 rooms. Aircon way too dusty to safely use. Needs a serious upgrade. Needs a good clean. Overpriced. Nice view, of the lake.

Shower had mold in it and the middle beds foot was broken

We were given a room next to the laundry. Concerned it would be noisy, I asked if another room was available (there was plenty of vacancy). They did not offer another room but assured us it was a quiet room. But the laundry woke us up at 7am both mornings even though it was not supposed to be operating until 10am. No toiletries or bowls provided in room. Requested bowls and spoons from reception, was told we had to get them from the restaurant ourselves as they were 'slammed'. Went down to the restaurant, there was only one couple in there having breakfast. Although the customer service were friendly, they were not particularly helpful. Room clean was terrible. They replaced towels and that's all. They took the hand towel but did not replace it. Beds were not made and they left us with dirty glassware and bowls from the previous day. Very surprised at the lack of housekeeping Booked the spa, it was very cold at only 32 degrees and did not have time to heat up while we were in there. Overall, quite a disappointing experience. We accepted the fact that the premises are very tired and shabby with chipped furniture and old carpet, but surprised at how unwilling staff and housekeeping were to provide usual hotel services.

I don’t usually write bad reviews, but I feel I should mention a few things. The area was nice and quiet, and parking was convenient. However, the room could have been cleaner—there was mould on the shower tiles (which I could wipe off), the bathroom drain had hair, and the blanket was old and stained.

Easy checkin and breakfast was good. Bathroom not too clean, hairs everywhere and in the plug holes. A water outlet was gushing out all night which made sleeping hard.

this is more like a motel with some added facilities - no problem here. The only issue really is that the rooms were very hot once you close the windows which you have to in order to keep the bugs out. It has a heater but it is in urgent need of aircon especially during the summer months

The property was in close proximity to where we were going. The room was very quiet and there was no road noise. Really hot shower. The bed was a good size but uncomfortable on one side. Decor is outdated and needs freshening up.

No air con other than that all good

Lakeland resort had good views over the lake from my 2nd floor room. The staff were helpful with suggestions for dinner.

Clean room, shower pressure was poor in this room.

The rooms and furnishings could do with an upgrade.

We traveled from Auckland to Taupo and stayed here for 5 days Amazing service from the staff very friendly and catered to our every needs, room was cleaned and restocked daily which was very nice also loved the electric blankets and jumping into a nice cozy warm bed after a nice warm shower from a very bizi day and sight seeing. Very quiet place to stay the washing machines and dryers were very handy we came home with no dirty clothes at all. Kids wanted to play tennis but it ended up raining and u have to booke the hot tub which was also very nice too. Highly recommend will definately be back there ti stay again.

Was told by reception we could get bar meals as restaurant was fully booked ,only 21 meals, then told by bar attendant the chef was to busy cooking 21 meals , not good as this motel is kms from town

The staff were very kind and accommodating of my friend's disabilities and accessibility needs. We were well looked after

Reception staff was amazing at accomodating for us. We arrived late and they ensured everything was ready for our late arrival including turning the heater on so that we would arrive to a warm space in this freezing cold night

Staff were rude and unhelpful. Security lacked, for individual rooms. Unable to unlock the door so they used a stick to open the door through the window. Was not able to resolve until the following day. Plenty of lovely places to stay but not this one.

Great, clean, wish I could have stayed longer. Just a 1 night stop over. Its a bit far from the main town area but that didn’t bother me as had a car.

A wonderful stay easy to check in, the facilities were excellent and the surrounding area easy to navigate. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the service was very good. Would definitely stay again.

Superior Suite with jetted tub - Reality did not match description. Restaurant not open, although advertised. Cable box was perched on top of the TV. Prepping for a hike, needed a store to prep food, staff not able to clearly describe where to go. Only 2 Ubers in town, suggest staying closer to restaurants or have a car.

No food. No alcohol. No cooked breakfast.,No shampoo,Soap dispenser in shower didn't work.. Disgraceful

The shower pressure was awful, but apart from that a great stay. The food at the restaurant was delicious breakfast and dinner.
