I appreciated the history of the hotel and even the cemetery in the back. The manager was very friendly and provided us with background information about the hotel. However, the elevator was slow, and the parking was tight. We ended up parking at another location, but we had to pay each time we wanted to retrieve our car. The hotel was within walking distance to Shandon Bells & Tower at St. Anne's Church, and it was an easy walk across the bridge to downtown.

We booked this because of location and the pool. The pool was closed when we arrived and there had been no notice of a closure so we didn’t have the opportunity to change our booking. We were told to use it in the morning. In the morning they told us to come back because it was busy and we didn’t have a reservation. No mention of needing a reservation was mentioned the night before. Also, they don’t do laundry on weekends. This was one of our hotel stays and we really needed that service, again no heads up. We went out to breakfast and upon return, our keys didn’t work. Usually with all these kinds of interruptions to service the host is very gracious and accommodating, not here. Too bad, because it could be a nice place to stay. The bell tower was lovely, and it was a nice neighborhood to walk and dine.

Ordered Breakfast the night before, plenty of choice. Freindly staff making us feel welcome. Had access to the swimming pool and Sauna, jacuzzi was out of order. Stayed in a family room, that had plenty of room for us all.

Staff were great! Room was clean, the sink did have a big crack in it which made me slightly nervous but didn’t appear to leak. Our guest information did mention that there was a safe, though I couldn’t find this. The restaurant didn’t appear to be open in the evenings, but we tried the breakfast on the final day. Really good selection for those without any dietary requirements, but not so many vegan options. The staff did very kindly make a separate dish of mushrooms with oil for my partner though, so thank you! Pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room all in good working condition too. Bed was very comfy. Thank you!

Close to Cork City, a nice walk. Parking limited but we snagged one and there is on street parking but it's hotly contested, I think. Nice facilities - restaurant, and hotel shares gym, pool, steam room and sauna with a fitness centre. Good hot shower and comfy bed, room a little small for 2 queens but completely fine for the money.

It's a very nice hotel, lovely breakfast, and even has a pool, although the pool could be better run - surely needs a lifeguard? And poor adherence to bathing cap wearing. But we liked it a lot not least as refugees from the Broga student res and its doors slamming like HX.

Nach Reklamation des ersten Zimmers, die Heizung war zum Verbrennen heiß und ließ sich nicht regulieren, bekamen wir ein neues Zimmer, welches sehr klein war, die Fenster zugeklebt, so dass man nicht rausschauen konnte, Reinigung der Zimmer bei 4 Nächten nicht durchgeführt, Mülleimer wurden nicht geleert und Toilettenpapier mussten wir uns an der Rezeption abholen. Eigentlich schade, wir fahren vor 5 Jahren in diesem Hotel und es war hervorragend, aufgrund dessen, wir es wieder zu einem stolzen Preis, gebucht hatten, leider konnte das Maldron Hotel diesen guten Standard nicht beibehalten und wir werden uns auf der nächsten Reise nach Cork ein anderes Hotel suchen. Personal, Check in waren positiv zu bewerten, sowie die Nähe zur City

Cleanliness was the largest concern for us. The property is under renovation, which is fine but not what contributed to the facility. The shower curtain was covered in mold, the toilet was dirty, there were finger prints everywhere. These result from poor cleaning practices not construction. Location was ok although there are others much closer to the center. Parking was horrible. There is a tiny parking lot in front of the hotel that everyone battles to get in and out of just to unload and then you have to park several streets over. Breakfast was ok. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, but I would not recommend the property itself.

Room smelled of smoke, no temp control so hot, room was over restaurant with super loud music that you could hear so well you can sing to the words (Still loud with ear plugs) kids screaming in the hallways and slamming doors, rooms are older than the front foyer so misleading, the foyer smelled super strong of a nice cologne so not so good for my Mom’s allergies. The bed was comfy and the room space was good. Ask for a room away from the restaurant on the weekend or whenever they have live music past 11pm.

Hotel ist vom Bahnhof in 15 Minuten erreichbar, die Innenstadt mit allen Einkaufs- und Essensmöglichkeiten erreicht man in 10 Minuten. Schöne Innenstadt und sehr schöner Ort. Tolles Frühstücksbüffet und nettes Personal. Das Hotel und die Zimmer waren sauber und alles war intakt.

The main issue with this room was how extremely hot it was in there. Even with the window open (the 1-2 inches allowed) it was still boiling in there. We literally left the door to the room into the hall open in the evenings just to help with the heat. Outside was in the mid to high 60s. We live in Seattle and are used to no AC but the lack of fresh air from the window was tough. They left a fan in our room and nice snacks, which was lovely. It is close to a lot, easy walk to the main part of the city. If you don’t score a parking lot spot, you will have to park on the street or in a garage down the road and move by 8 or 8:30 am. We didn’t have the breakfast but the staff allowed me to pop in and grab a coffee each day which I really appreciated. Our sink was clogged and it did take two days to unclog but they did eventually get it taken care of. The history of the hotel was pretty cool, the idea that this hotel was a hospital back in 1720 and is literally older than my country was fascinating.

Great staff! The breakfast in the morning was just perfect and they accommodated me bringing up to my sleeping teenager in the room which was very nice of them. Beds were extremely comfortable. If it wasn’t for the heat that day it would have been a lovely stay. They did have fans in the rooms but no A/C on those top floors was a bit uncomfortable. We managed with a cool shower and went outside for the evening until it cooled off.

We really enjoyed our one-night stay at the Maldron Hotel Shandon Cork. The room was an excellent size (and I loved having a bathtub), the staff were lovely and friendly and overall it was in a convenient location, easy to get to where ever we were going. My husband also enjoyed using the pool but was surprised to find out he needed a bathing cap (lol) not that it was a big deal to purchase on.

Centrally located hotel … with its own parking … service is a bit of a hit or miss … when I wanted help with my luggage during check in , they got the bar tender to help … while in the room when I requested for a plate and spoon … was told that I could come down and get it or pay 5 euros to have it delivered … this is 4 star service in Cork I guess .. anyway on my check out when I similarly asked for help was informed that there were no men available … otherwise the hotel was ok …

There are so many great things about this hotel. It’s a great location and our executive suite was spacious and affordable but the front desk staff are not very responsive and seem to lack customer service abilities. Room cleaning is by request only and they didn’t take out the trash. Also it was an extra 5 euro charge to have cutlery sent to our room.

We had a noisy stay at the hotel due to some inconsiderate guests, but the hotel were amazing about it and moved us into a different room at 1am, provided free breakfast and parking and refunded half our stay. The room we moved to had super comfy beds and was very quiet. Breakfast was good but the best thing about the hotel was the staff. Denis the manager, Marie the receptionist and the night manager all went above and beyond. Many thanks

Parking was not good. Stated parking available but had to park blocks down and put a scratch off discounting the parking fees with a map of garages to go. Very confusing: Two twins put together that didn’t line up when I booked for a king. Spent $677 for two nights slept horrible 1st night due to the uneven bed situation. Woke up to only have the shower be cold and then would not shut off had to get management up right away and she shut it off and offered another room as we had no shower and expressed our concerns with sleep Stated she was going to comp breakfast but I told her are breakfast was already included for two nights and she said she would look into it and get back on a way to compinsate. Had to wait until after breakfast a few hours later to pack up all our stuff to move to another room. Roomed seems to be ok but bed situation more durable but still not a king and water still had difficulty getting it to come to temperature. When I talked to the desk she said there was nothing documented on a compensation or credit because we chose to move but we explained we had no choice. She said she would talk to other manager. As we were leaving she informed us they would not compensate. Very disappointed as we spent a lot of money at the bar having dinner and drinks which the employees on that end we were wonderful. If nothing can be done on a credit to my account, poor recommendations to social media, definitely know about our stay and

Absolutely loved our stay here. The location is perfect - on the north side of the river, so quieter and easier to park, but so walkable to everything to see in Cork. We had a lovely stroll across the river to amazing food (hundreds of placed to choose from), Cork Folk Festival and historic landmarks and enjoyed a stellar music session at the pub Sin e near the hotel. Room was everything we needed, nicely appointed and spacious. Staff at Maldron were wonderful start to finish. Even when we had an unruly bunch partying next door, staff responded and reminded the party there were other guests around them - much appreciated!

Great 3 days at this property! The main entrance was under construction during our stay but it didn't bother us at all. The rooms have all been updated, they were very clean, all 4 adults were comfortable and felt safe. The breakfast is plentiful. The hotel is within walking distance to downtown Cork. There is very limited parking in front of the hotel, we dropped off our luggage at the hotel, parked in a downtown parking garage and walked the 10 minutes back. The only caution is that the hotel is on a hill. If you have anyone with mobility issues, this could pose a problem with the amount of walking uphill.

Very nice hotel but it’s not in a great area. You have to walk several blocks to get to anywhere close to restaurants. There is a restaurant in the hotel and our dinner was very, very good. The service was excellent. The room was nice, but the temperature could not be adjusted And the coffee pot was impossible to figure out. The hotel needs better signage on the street for where to pull in. There’s a very ample parking lot, but it’s a one-way street and if you miss it, you have to circle around because it’s not well identified.

The kids loved the pool. It was walkable to the train station, buses, and downtown. The room was hot/no air conditioning. We didn't realize there was a fan until we were packing up to leave. It was clean, and the staff was friendly. We ended up staying an additional night, and they made that easy to accommodate. While breakfast buffet was good, other food available that we tried was not. Beds were comfortable, and we found additional pillows in the closet. Staff was super helpful calling taxis, etc.

Very disappointing experience we booked in on new years eve, had problems firstly trying to get parking it took an hour to park appauling that we weren't informed about the overflow parking until we were rudely asked to move by a staff member while parked outside the door of hotel as we were discussing options after driving around hotel car park and street parking for hour, secondly the following morning we paid 32 euro for '' breakfast'' for two if you could even call it that, the eggs were disgrace they were inedible, the bacon was like beef jerky if was so dehydrated nearly chipped an tooth on it the beans were dried into the container they were in,, all the food was removed within 10 minutes of sitting down, when we complained about the poor quality of the breakfast manager didn't seem phased and brushed if off, 32 euro flushed down drain went to local petrol station to get deli breakfast on way home 100% better food, stevie wonder must have been preparing food that morning in maldron. Service for dinner the previous night also extremely slow we got the menus and still nobody returned to take our order 20 mins later we had to go the the bar to get the waitress so we could order our food Would not return again usuallly book 2or 3 times a year big disappointment

Everything was lovely but the food, the burgers were cold, the margherita pizza tasted like goats cheese. Staff are excellent. Receptionists so nice and friendly. And the leisure centre staff are lovely too.

Check in is via kiosk but there’s a person right there to help if you need. Parking is a bit competitive so recommend arriving earlier rather than later. The room was small, very sparsely furnished (no decorative items), and bathroom was fine but had all these marks and holes on walls from where renovators had taken measurements and drilled wrong holes. No washcloths. Towels clean but bare-bones. Shampoo and soap but no conditioner or lotion. It was quiet enough. Had to leave window open for cooler air. Bfast was outstanding though.

Staff were great! Room was clean, the sink did have a big crack in it which made me slightly nervous but didn’t appear to leak. Our guest information did mention that there was a safe, though I couldn’t find this. The restaurant didn’t appear to be open in the evenings, but we tried the breakfast on the final day. Really good selection for those without any dietary requirements, but not so many vegan options. The staff did very kindly make a separate dish of mushrooms with oil for my partner though, so thank you! Pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room all in good working condition too. Bed was very comfy. Thank you!

Staff were very accommodating with all of our needs, friendly and approachable. The room was exactly what we needed for 3 people and the cleaners kept on top of it for us. The shower was full of mold and the toilet seat was broken. Our room face a cemetery and the bed sheets were like sand paper. Not our best experience in Ireland unfortunately.
