Wonderful hotel and staff. The only negative was the only way to park was to pay for valet parking each night or walk a great distance to the other side of the complex. The nightly rate should include free parking.

The renovation of this former denim factory is beautiful and architecturally fascinating. However, the actual rooms were designed for a magazine spread, and not for actual people to stay in - electrical outlets mysteriously placed (hidden) and lack of privacy in bathroom area. The staff is friendly, enthusiastic and incredibly helpful. Five stars for Hailey and Caitlin at the front desk and the Manager whose name I did not get. Our server Marina in the restaurant was top-notch. Now to the criticisms - the hotel has only one elevator that operates at glacial speed. And there are no ice machines on any floor. A trip downstairs to the bar (taking your ice bucket) is the only way to get ice for the room. Puzzling and inconvenient. Valet parking is expensive ($25/day) and required.

The hotel itself is exceptional. The soaring ceilings, enormous windows, exposed brick, and modern layout all felt like I was in a big city. Everything was clean and pristine! The valet, however, has got to change! Nowhere does it mention that they’re not affiliated with the hotel, so when the 16-year old was more concerned with the spelling of my name for the ticket than he was with assisting me with my bags, it left me with a bad first impression of the hotel. Then, when I called for my car the next morning, I had to pay for it first? Instead of being a part of the room charge! Except for the poor choice to not have the valet as part of the hotel services, the only other concern was the very loud & slow elevator.

Seems like a very new establishment. Everything is in beautiful brand new condition...except the elevator that was having trouble for some portion of both days we were visiting. Not a problem for us, but could easily have been an issue. We weren't told until we arrived that we might not have an elevator to get to our 3rd floor room. Most of the time we took the stairs since the elevator only worked sporadically and it was marked out of order at check-out. The bar staff was friendly and it was a nice quiet place to enjoy the beginnings of a weekend away. They made wonderful cocktails and helpful recommendations. We liked the ambiance so much we came back for dinner to Olio, which was even better than expected. And reasonably priced for such a nice dinner! Valet only parking was an annoyance, especially when requesting your car didn't result in the car being brought all the way to the entrance. If I'm forced to pay for valet, I shouldn't have to also walk a distance to the car. Perhaps a young attendant. Our attendant at check-out did it right. The room looked out on the train tracks so sound machine and earplugs were provided, which made us a little nervous, but we didn't hear a train at all and both slept soundly. The rain shower is fantastic, but a little small. Robes are provided, but not slippers. Overall a beautiful place I wouldn't mind coming to again (to try the spa), but they could use a little help making it a truly luxurious stay to match the look of the place.

Great stay! Spa was just what we needed. Why not expand the restaurant menu include breakfast options, burgers.

The Rivet House is a nice hotel but the parking needs reconsideration. The valet price is egregious and the self parking is inconvenient even though there is plenty of usable parking (reserved for valet) close to the entrance.

I've stayed at the Rivet house four times now in the last year. I love the property and it is my preferred location in Athens. It is my go to. I like the vibe, the restaurant, room decor, spa - all good. A couple of suggestions as you enter into year 2. 1) Need same day laundry service or machines some where. This is a staple for frequent travelers. I have been driving to a local laundromat. 2) Housekeeping needs to be more reliable. My preferences is for room to be made up every day. Frequently I get towels and trash emptied, but no beds made. This an be improved. 3) Parking is awful. Tons of open spots all around the hotel - cones to block off spots near the hotel forcing self parking customers to park around back is terrible. Valet service for $25 per day is terrible. Get rid of this and re-do parking. I will remain a loyal customer and, like I say, I love the property. Just a few suggestions.

Very clean/nice size rooms. The elevator is unbearably slow and noisy. Didn't find the stairs until last day unfortunately. Also the way they have the valet set up is backwards. The regular parking is a hike and all of the valet parking is right by the hotel. Seems like the valet guys should be running to get the valet cars (like at most places) and the regular parking would be closer to the hotel. Guessing they are wanting to encourage people to pay the $25/daily valet fee. Housekeeping didn't clean our room so had to call and wait on towels/coffee/etc. Had been very excited to try out this hotel but it was a bit disappointing.

Overall, we loved our stay and I highly recommend the restaurant downstairs (Osteria Olio). I wish there was a little more storage space for hanging things up. Also, the walls/floors are very thin. We could everything going on in the rooms beside and below us. They do provide noise machines and that helped.

Amazing room…shower 10/10…restaurant 11/10….train noise throughout the night…a bummer…overall I’d give this an 8.5/10, only bc of the train noises at night

Beautiful building and rooms. Great staff. Valet parking was as quick and efficient as any I've ever experienced. The bar and restaurant were packed in the evening so I assume they are great (I didn't have the opportunity to use them.) The problem is with other items that create inconvenience for the customer. The rooms have no closet or wardrobe for hanging clothes - just a bar and it's over the cabinet with the mini fridge so any dresses would not hang freely. Also there is no drawer space for clothes so you have to live out of your suitcase for clean and dirty clothes. Also, there's no ice maker on the floor; you have to go to the front desk to get it. And the shower was too small - about 3-3.5 feet square. Very frustrating because they could have added about 10-15 square feet to each room and easily addressed these issues. Lastly, the back rooms are literally 30 feet from the railroad track and the train comes by 3-4 times during the night. These things hold it back from being a truly excellent place to stay.

Loved Harper at the front desk The only feedback I would give is it was fairly loud in the room. I could hear the woman above me on the phone very clearly (like word for word). Once I turned the sound machine on that was provided, it was fine.

This property is beautiful, but clearly a case of form over function. The design is excellent, but awkward. There is no door to the bathroom and really no partition at all. There is a sheer curtain that pulls across. Really useless. So staying with a family is just out of the question. Sooooo awkward with a teenage girl and her parents! What is the point of an open concept bathroom here? There is none. It is so loud if someone used the bathroom at night and just a silly choice. Unless they rectify the bathroom situation, we will not be staying there again. The refrigerator is in the closet and the bar is too short for a dress and would rub against any food on top of the refrigerator. Again, just silly and impractical. Also the curtains do not close all the way! These issues are so easy to fix so maybe the hotel will realize that these quirks make the room uncomfortable. That said, the restaurant is excellent! Everything was very good. We are from New York City so we are familiar with good food and this was very nice.

Sort of hard to find...it took us three trips around the block, as signage isn't lit up, and you can't really see the hotel from the street. Once we found it, we were thrilled-it's gorgeous! Finding the check-in door took a minute, and there was no one at check in. After 15 minutes, I tried calling the hotel, but went to VM. Finally, I was calling Expedia to see about cancelling our reservation and someone showed up. Was very frustrating after a long travel day. The hotel itself is incredible!

Great new boutique-style/upscale hotel! I loved my recent stay! The employees running the establishment could not have been nicer - that was a huge highlight of my stay. Every employee I engaged with was really friendly. The property and rooms have beautiful industrial character, and the furnishings are very luxurious - super comfortable bed, gorgeous design details (like tile and hardwood in the rooms), lightweight robes, deluxe toiletries, etc. I especially loved all the lighting options in the rooms - ambient up-lighting, bedside sconces, and great bathroom vanity lighting! High-quality hair dryers and steamers also available in the rooms. The only thing missing for me is a water fill station. Without a gym, there’s no filtered water accessible. Many of the new boutique hotels I stay in now have water fill stations for guests on the floors or in the lobby. It’s also worth noting that the hotel backs up to train tracks with an active train (photo of train from room). It wasn’t too loud - no loud train whistles, but it was noticeable. I’m used to city sounds so it was no bother to me but may be to others. Outside of a few grand opening kinks the teams were still figuring out (I stayed within the first week of opening), the stay was awesome and I highly recommend this property. Wonderful new option in Athens!

Beautiful hotel. But they are right next to a loud train track. They give you ear plugs but they did not work and the light from the train woke me up. The bed was no comfortable. It was lumpy and too soft with no shape. They also charge a $150 PER DAY incidental charge. I stayed 2 nights and after checking my card they charged me for three. I called to fix this and left a message with the staff but no one called back to apologize. All in all beautiful hotel but unless you are staying on a side that does not face the train. Do not stay here. You won’t get any sleep

There were not many guests so the front desk could easily placed me in a room other than beside the train tracks. Instead they put me in the room with earplugs! Desk clerk could have warned me about the train activity throughout the night but she was silent on the issue. There are no real breakfast options here even though there is s restaurant on site. Just a "coffee and danish bar" staffed by a most uninterested employee. Served my coffee with artificial sweetener...once tasted I asked her if it was sugar, she said "no, yellow packet, we dont have any sugar!" really?? The decor was amazing its just that the staff did not live up to the aesthetics of the building. they need to hire people who are interested and excited to welcome guests or professional actors with a script who can at least fake it. i

The valet and check in is minimal staff but works well. There is a lovely bar and amazing restaurant but it’s in high demand so prepare accordingly with reservations. The rooms are very nice. The rooms close to the elevator - you will hear the elevator. Staff is amazing all around and it’s a great addition to Athens.

Really liked many of the amenities --- robes, steamer, really good hairdryer! I think tea bags and hot water should be available in rooms...I also found the place loud - with peoples voices out on the patio area into the night and the train coming thru a couple times at night. I also felt although close to UGA, we didn't get a UGA feel and would have preferred to be closer to campus. Also, should figure out a way not to pay for parking via Valet

Beautifully restored building, friendly staff, horrible location - nowhere near UGA campus, downtown Athens, and no shuttle service! Came up for UGA/GT game. Waited an hour+ for Uber/Lyft as you can’t walk to this property (shady AF area) and it hasn’t dawned on the brilliant owners to offer a shuttle service!! Also, train tracks right outside window w/ train AT 1:30 AM!! Think My Cousin Vinny scene! Not coming back!

Beautiful hotel, but really far away from anywhere central. One other thing which got at me: if I just wanted to park my car without using the valet, the only option is to park 200m away, whereas the valet seems to have a monopoly on reasonably convenient parking spaces (meaning: actually in-sight of the hotel). Not being cheap, but I don’t want someone else driving my vehicle really ever, for which I was forced to parking behind another building which was not even that close to the hotel.

Fabulous property! In an up and coming area! When you drive up (after dark) you think “where in the world have I booked a room”! When you turn the corner you say…. “OH WOW.. this is super cool”! 😃… GREAT place to stay if you don’t mind being a few extra min from Downtown by car or Uber!

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Rivet House. The hotel decor was very cute, and the staff was both courteous and professional. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were extremely comfortable. I also had dinner at the on-site restaurant which exceeded my expectations for both food quality and service. The only downside is the location of this property. It’s in an industrial area and there are trains running nearby at night. They provide ear plugs which are helpful, and the rooms facing the front of the property fair much better with the noise. The difference was night and day. Overall, I would stay here again when in the area. I suggest you do the same.

I arrived at night and it was difficult to figure out where to go. I valet parked at a whopping $26 rather than walk in the dark alone from parking area. Room was beautiful, very spacious and very comfortable. Hotel is not downtown but they only serve breakfast at the weekend, only have a coffee stand available during the week. We ate dinner at the restaurant on site Osteria Olio which was top class, definitely recommend. Could do with a few umbrellas so people can use the beautiful outdoor sitting area. Overall would recommend.

A.Maz.Ing. I wouldnt stay anywhere else in Athens. The rooms were lovely. The beds soooo comfortable. I did not want to get up. Dinner was fabulous! The food and service were top notch! Only room for improvement was the tiny breakfast nook. Some of the pastries were mislabeled and they ran out of oat and almond milk.

I travel to Athens for an annual conference. I had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful new hotel—it truly felt like a breath of fresh air. From the moment I checked in, I could tell that every detail was carefully considered to enhance the guest experience. The room was modern and cozy, with lighting that’s controlled by your key card—an energy-efficient and convenient touch. I especially loved the lighted mirror in the bathroom, which was perfect for doing my makeup, and the black makeup towel was such a thoughtful addition. Dining at the hotel’s restaurant was a highlight of my stay. My waitress was incredibly attentive and guided me through the menu with care. I had the best tiramisu I’ve ever tasted! They even customized a drink just for me and gifted me a few surprise treats, which made the experience feel extra special. Checkout was quick and efficient. Morning coffee from the in-house barista was also top-notch—and don’t skip the giant chocolate chip cookies; they are phenomenal! While the hotel is near the railroad tracks, they provide earplugs and a sound machine. I personally didn’t find the trains disruptive at all, especially since I didn’t spend much time in the room. Unfortunately, the rain kept me from enjoying the terrace, but I’m sure it’s a lovely spot in good weather. All in all, I’d definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again!
