The property was really nice and staff was great! There are a couple of amenities like 24-hour airport shuttle that Expedia lists but the hotel does not offer as well as the pool which must be approved for use through the spa fee, but other than that it was very nice.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff and excellent breakfast. The only criticism I would offer is the fact that I was refused access to the pool. Whilst I appreciate access to the Spa facility was extra it not clear that this included use of the pool. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in that actually charges for access to the pool ( I was not interested in other Spa services).

Unfortunately when I arrived after paying a rather large amount of money for my stay in comparison to other hotels I was told that the Spa access was not included. There was no information about any surcharges to use the Spa. I had thoroughly searched for any information as this is the second time this had happened using Hotels.com. There was no option also to add this so I was hit with a £30 per person per day extra fee which I find totally unacceptable and really put a hinder on our trip.

The hotel is really really pretty, and the facilities are very good. The breakfast was nice and varied. The sauna is ridiculously hot (good thing), and the jacuzzi is good. The pool I can’t believe is heated, as it’s freezing. The gym is just a typical hotel gym (max 10kg weights and couple of treadmills. The staff are quite stiff, but I think it might be a culture thing. Make sure to have items included in your booking package though, because my god the prices are astronomical for the Spa, Breakfast, massages etc. I’ve been countless places, and the massages are the most expensive I’ve ever seen. We got a room upgrade, but was pretty much the same but on the front of the building, to which you can hear everything, and must of got woken up from emergency services every hour.

First room was too hot as they don’t have working ac but was moved to a different room and was great Spa is very nice and if you pay for the extra club level you get free drinks and snacks make sure you talk to Herman he is a legend

I was disappointed that the room overlooked an interior atrium and did not have a view to the outside or access to natural light. Chair upholstery ripped and dirty. A bizarre number of one type of towel, none of others. Shower stall of both rooms leaked. Mold. Water stains on couch. Unventilated, I had a courtyard room. Noisy if window open, which it did onto the bar.

The property looks nice but is outdated. The carpets are old and dirty. The desk and the bathroom had food stains and dirt on them. It looked like it had not been cleaned for a long time. Good point: clean beds. Overall ok but nothing special. Old, needs upkeeping and better cleaning staff.

A beautiful hotel with an amazing spa but sadly the housekeeping let the five star service down. The paint on the skirting boards was chipped, marks on the carpet and the basin tap dripped constantly and the amenities weren’t replenished until we asked including water and loo paper. The pillows need to be updated too. That said we loved the hotel and the spa was wonderful and Budapest was fabulous.

The Hotel is Gorgeous and decorated beautifully for the holidays. Front Desk and Concierge very accommodating. Our room was vey hot and had maintenance come and eventually had to shut down heat completely and still have window open. Room service was prompt and nice selection. Housekeeping took used towels and did not replace any including bath mat. I requested towels and they arrived with two hand towels. I requested again and they provided a full set but were quite rude about it. Dinner at Caviar and Bull was excellent. The included Breakfast was incredible with so many beautiful selections.

I used to love the Corinthia (or, as I used to know it - the Royal), but cannot recommend it now without reservations. The breakfast and front desk staff is excellent, as is the breakfast. Lots of good choices and friendly and helpful staff, no complaint there. The room service, however is hit and miss. Some of the towels are frayed, as are the bath robes, important, since one uses these to go the Spa. In one occasion (out of 7 days) our room was not made up until we called the front desk at 4 PM, even though we put a "Please make up our room" sign out at 10 AM. And the state of the facilities was not very good: Our wash basin drained extremely slowly, was clearly clogged, but wasn't fixed. The bathroom (we had a "superior room") had no hand shower, only an overhead one, clearly outdated, and the shower leaked on the side, inundating the area of the water closet The Corinthia needs a careful renovation with modern facilities and an improvement in the room services to earn its stars again.

We booked the executive room, like the one we enjoyed on past visits, but on this occasion it was disappointing. The check in wait was long but we got our room in reasonable time. The room was fine but overlooked the entry hallway and stairs to a party room. The noise from all the activities was extremely disrupting. In the daytime it wasn't a bother but in late hours the sound of deep base disrupted our sleep. Our complaints were noted but the hotel could not correct this at the time. The staff in general were pleasant but lacked training in hospitality. This was noticeable at breakfast. We were seated in a dark annex with no attentive staff. The seating management was poor, they even placed other guests on our table after we went to get food. The breakfast selection was reasonable but not always available and getting a coffee wasn't an easy experience. The staff kept getting basic requests wrong or simply forgetting about them. The following day was a small improvement. We had the executive suite access and enjoyed it the most. The young lady serving that area was attentive. The spa was ok, although many children occupied the loungers so we only stayed a short time. Because we had a serious complaint with our stay, the manager respectfully offered compensation at check out. This is still to be received after two weeks. For a five star hotel a drop in standard of service is noticeable. It saddens me not to recommend staying here as the place is a grand venue.

Hotel was clean and well presented. Breakfast was nothing short of chaotic. Big queues. Dirty tables. Lack of of table service. Our room was on the whole good, however did smell a little of sewage and was very warm. The hotel did move us which was appreciated.

Beautiful property and excellent staff and service. Only one complaint. We were staying in one of the rooms above the atrium, so it was extremely noisy at breakfast time, which commenced at 6.30am, after which i couldnt sleep at all.

Grand old hotel (1896 I think), which was refurbished around 20 years ago. Large, elegant public rooms and the hotel has the potential to be a proper international “5-star” property - but it is not right now. Stayed 1 night in a Deluxe room. Classic furnishings and decor which looked like it hadn’t been upgraded for 20 years. Carpet was clean enough but heavily worn, especially outside the bathroom. Bed was VERY uncomfortable - which prevented me sleeping - far too soft, or maybe the springs / mattress had collapsed. Wanted a hot bath but the tap water was filthy brown (see picture) and the mechanism to open the plug was broken so the dirty water stayed in the tub overnight - used bottled water for brushing teeth. Lots of dust on the bedside light stands, one of the two reading lights didn’t work at all, and thick dirt on the bathroom radiator control - fully visible when sitting on the loo. The pool / spa is excellent - spacious and clean, but not included in all room-rates. Shocked to discover that in the year 2025 the room has no USB sockets at all, and just ONE accessible power socket - at floor level in the corner as far away from the bed as possible. Asked the staff about this but their explanation was “it’s an old building” - yet hotels all over the world, not just expensive ones, have retro-fitted their electrics and sockets elegantly for decades (e.g. sockets on desk-tops, USBs in bedside drawers). I only had a phone and iPad to charge but if I was on a b

Asked the staff about this but their explanation was “it’s an old building” - yet hotels all over the world, not just expensive ones, have retro-fitted their electrics and sockets elegantly for decades (e.g. sockets on desk-tops, USBs in bedside drawers). The hotel is really really pretty, and the facilities are very good. The breakfast was nice and varied. The sauna is ridiculously hot (good thing), and the jacuzzi is good. The pool I can’t believe is heated, as it’s freezing. The gym is just a typical hotel gym (max 10kg weights and couple of treadmills. The staff are quite stiff, but I think it might be a culture thing. Make sure to have items included in your booking package though, because my god the prices are astronomical for the Spa, Breakfast, massages etc. I’ve been countless places, and the massages are the most expensive I’ve ever seen. We got a room upgrade, but was pretty much the same but on the front of the building, to which you can hear everything, and must of got woken up from emergency services every hour.

The bed is awful and not flat... it was almost raised at both ends with a dip in the middle. We got shown an alternative room and it had the same issues.... The room has terrible connectivity with plug sockets in very inconvenient places. The air conditioning did not work, and the room was constantly hot; therefore, I was unable to sleep at night and never felt comfortable under the duvet. The room was relatively clean and sheets/towels were good quality. Wifi was good. I would not stay here again. Very dated and not value for money paid.

The second night there was a conference in the atrium and the banqueting team were working till 24:30 so little sleep again the second night! NO HEAT!!! The heating system was NOT turned on in December. In Budapest. (Turning the thermostat to high only blew cold air making the room colder). The front desk explained to me that the heating system was old, and that too many rooms would be too hot if they turned it on. They did send a portable electric radiator which helped a bit. Most of the time when I was in the room I was laying underneath the covers trying to stay warm. Not a pleasant experience, and this colored my entire experience.

We booked the executive room, like the one we enjoyed on past visits, but on this occasion it was disappointing. The check in wait was long but we got our room in reasonable time. The room was fine but overlooked the entry hallway and stairs to a party room. The noise from all the activities was extremely disrupting. In the daytime it wasn't a bother but in late hours the sound of deep base disrupted our sleep. Our complaints were noted but the hotel could not correct this at the time. The staff in general were pleasant but lacked training in hospitality. This was noticeable at breakfast. We were seated in a dark annex with no attentive staff. The seating management was poor, they even placed other guests on our table after we went to get food. The breakfast selection was reasonable but not always available and getting a coffee wasn't an easy experience. The staff kept getting basic requests wrong or simply forgetting about them. The following day was a small improvement. We had the executive suite access and enjoyed it the most. The young lady serving that area was attentive. The spa was ok, although many children occupied the loungers so we only stayed a short time. Because we had a serious complaint with our stay, the manager respectfully offered compensation at check out. This is still to be received after two weeks. For a five star hotel a drop in standard of service is noticeable. It saddens me not to recommend staying here as the place is a grand venue.

The Corinthia Hotel in Budapest is truly beautiful. The room was very spacious, and the historic spa, one of the oldest in the city, has been magnificently restored—an absolute must during the stay. The property was gorgeous. Staff very friendly. Spa was wonderful. Two issues, on check in the lady at the front desk asked me several times for my name, then went to look where keys were already pre-programmed (I had to come back for room keys since the room was not available on original check in). She made my keys and I went on my way. Got to room and my brother in law was in there. As such, she gave me keys to the wrong room. Had to go down twice to get this corrected. Second issue, I was quoted by Expedia that my rate would be $501.96. Was charged $539.47

There are wonderful dining options nearby, public buses and trolleys are steps away, and many attractions are an easy walk.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The breakfast was amazing. The staff were great. The hotel bar in the evening was a little understaffed so it took awhile to get drinks and our bill. Our room itself and our friend’s “suite” was a bit outdated. It definitely could use a refresh. The location was a ways away from the river and where the action is so be prepared to walk a mile or two or take the public transit to get there. Absolutely gorgeous hotel with an interesting history and satisfying amenities. The central location put us within a 30 minute walk of nearly every point of interest on our first visit to Budapest; situated midway between City Park and Buda Castle. Tons of great cafes and restaurants nearby so we did not find ourselves eating at the resaurants on-site, though they looked impressive and reasonably priced. The spa is also worth a visit - though it is somewhat small relative to the amount of guests present at peak hours. The spa amenities themselves were not overly crowded but the lounging areas were often completely filled, leaving no space to leave your robes. I'd like to see a solution implented to solve this issue. My only other complaint was the temperature of the room during our mid-November stay. The heat

Our first visit to Budapest and staying at Corinthia was the highlight of our trip. We received a complimentary upgrade as part of expedia's VIP programme and we received some lovely treats for my husbands birthday. The hotel staff were very friendly and really helpful. We REALLY enjoyed access to the exclusive lounge as part of our upgrade, lots of complimentary food and drink options. The spa is really beautiful and was a lovely treat after a long day exploring the city. Although, pricey I would highly recommend the breakfast - it was definitely worth it and we were sad we had to leave so early for our flight we missed our last morning of breakfast - although reception did kindly offer to provide us with some takeaway breakfast for our journey. My only non 5 star point is the local area to the hotel, we were in a room front facing and the traffic and people noise from the main road outside made it difficult to sleep both nights, it was constant and never quietened down. Although not the hotel's fault just something to bear in mind when booking - might be worth requesting a room to the back of the hotel. I would highly recommend and would love to stay here again - Thank you for a wonderful 1st experience in Budapest!

Great breakfast but very busy. Hard to find a table, they ran out of coffeecups, Our waiter was busy speaking to french guests instead of clearing tables. Inside main room, great service, in the outer hall poor service and in extra rooms no service has to get coffee in papercups.

Beautiful hotel with excellent service and very comfortable rooms. Atrium restaurant has wonderful food and great service. The lobby and common areas on first and second floors are beautiful but the rooms and general hallways are a little tired and could use "freshening". It doesn't detract from the overall beauty, comfort and quality of the hotel, just a recommendation. We did not experience the spa but wished we had.

A beautiful location, but not up to par in several areas. Every day it was something with housekeeping. No towels, no kleenex, garbage not emptied, floors not attended to. The phone did not work and the room was freezing. We ate in the restaurant one night and food was sub par. The breakfast buffet is worth the price. We had dinner one evening in Caviar & Bull. It exceeded our expectations.

Another wonderful time in Budapest in one of the most beautiful hotels we have stayed in. Exceptional staff and wonderful cuisine. Our room was very nice - we were on the executive level. Amenities were wonderful- beautiful lounge with a large assortment of food. The pool and spa area was very refreshing after a hot day of touring around the city. We will be back again!
