The room was dusty everywhere. The bed sheets were changed and clean towels provided. The balcony chairs were sun faded and chalky and left marks on our clothes. An annoying inconvenience was that parking was non existent for first night of stay. However Mantra parking signs appeared in parking bays assigned to room numbers the next day. There was a broken double power point in the closet so I could not iron clothes unless I tried it in the small bathroom with great difficulty. The TV and internet was extremely slow and to add to annoyance, the settings were locked in Japanese language only. The credenza below the wall mounted tv housed the kettle, coffee and tea and fridge. However there was no accessible power point to connect kettle to, above the credenza. The only place was in the bathroom. Even though issues with the room were discussed with Mantra staff at front desk, nothing happened to address some of these matters prior to leaving. From a positive perspective the location is central with ease of access to shopping, food venues and the esplanade.

We really loved the place. The apartment, the balcony, the location, the staff. There is however one thing that should be upgraded from the 1990’s - the internet. In Cairns on the street there is free internet, but at the hotel you need to pay, for limited number of appliances and for limited use. Frustrating! Another frustrating thing is the very limited amount of parking spaces for a large hotel. We went off-season and it was a nightmare, I can only imagine the summer…

I don't think I could be paid to stay here again. The room and bathroom were the most dated awful room I have ever seen. The wifi did not work at all for our entire stay. When I asked Reception Staff about why the wifi wasn't working, she shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do. There are very limited gym facilities (no weights) and the one treadmill was out of order. There are basically no facilities at all - no room service, no breakfast, no housekeeping. Limited free parking nearby but none available while we were there so we drove around for 30 mins to find somewhere to park. I have stayed at many places in Cairns City and in my opinion and experience, this was by far the worst.

I had such high hopes about staying here. The photos of a sun drenched pool looked like just the sort of winter time retreat I needed. Unfortunately, the pool is placed in an awkward corner at the back of the property - and received NO SUN at any time of the day. It also WASN’T HEATED - not even a little bit (ice-cold spa anyone??). Needless to say, my dreams of relaxing poolside while my kids played for hours on end in the water were never realised. The broken treadmill in the gym was another disappointment. It remained unfixed for the entire time we were staying. I have no issue with the room itself. Thankfully, we were assigned a room with a balcony that got direct sunlight. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel was very convenient for getting to local attractions - I just wish the pool was a useful space instead of an afterthought.

Overall not the best stay. Room was very small, bed sheets were ripped, curtains very dirty and towels falling apart. Only one bin in the room, no flannels. TV also was not working. Power sockets broke. Pool looked bigger on the photos. Barely a sun trap with the building over the pool so lack of sun all times during the day. Area around the hotel great, amenities within walking distance. Wouldn’t stay again. Not the best experience.

If i could upload the photos i took i would. $300 for one night? Massive cockroaches in my room, water was leaking at a rapid rate onto the TV table splashing all over the TV and all over the lamp light on the table next to it at such a rapid rate that i had to turn off the aircon There were fluid stains from a drink on my bed side table that hadn't been wiped down, there was someones underwear behind the bedside table and there were fleas in my bed. I am not happy that i had to pay $300 for this room. I have kept all of the photos of the above mentioned if you want to discuss this further.

Vanessa on reception, was great at booking our tours. She has great customer service skills & is very friendly & a wonderful smile. 😊 Now, for the condition of our room. FILTHY. We found lot's of hair & nail clippings on the carpet in various spots throughout our room. Even two nail clippings next to the sink where you put the dishes to dry! As well as stains on the curtains in two rooms. They've most likely have never been cleaned since the hotel opened in 2000! Marks on the walls throughout, a very big stain on the chair in the living room & the seat cushions on the sofa, have springs almost coming through. VERY uncomfortable. Overall, this was Not a 4 star room. More like a 2 star Backpacker's! I paid almost $300 a night for 5 nights for this accommodation. I've stayed at cleaner Mantra's than this one. To sum it up, I would never stay here again if I was ever up in Cairns again. Mantra, you better pick up your game, because you have some VERY good competition. Very disappointed. ☹️ Btw, the manager never came up to inspect the room. 🤔

The room it self was clean and tidy. However upon arriving there was musky smelling in the room. We turned off the air conditioner which appeared to be the main problem. After chatting with the desk they came up and changed the filter as we could see was quite dirty. We did not have the air for the remaining of our 3 days as, it still gave off the strong scent. I do hope further looking into the this concern is addressed as summer is approaching.

The twin key rooms are quite noisy - when your neighbour comes or goes it will wake you up. No water bottles. Although I was told the rooms wont be cleaned I expected enough towels or at least a towel refresh. Good location, clean, easy parking.

Was locked out of room whilst locksmith had to be called to repair an old lock. Staff would not allow late checkout despite inconvenience during stay. Otherwise great location and easily accessible.

The hotel was amazing, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room we were upgraded to was great, the mattresses were really soft and the pillows were nice, the balcony was an amazing addition. The only concern we had with the place was the smell of damp, but we opened the balcony doors and that helped a lot.

Unique? I wouldn’t call anything about this property professional let alone neat. I made a booking on here, only to arrive and have someone already checked into my room. They desk lady called the room and asked for whom ever to come down to reception only for the person who came down to have changed his name twice. Nothing was right about the whole situation. I did not want the room following, I wanted my money back. Yet to receive a refund from both Wotif or Mantra Esplanade Cairns.

We had arrived for our stay and were given the room key to an apartment that was still in use. Understandable that it was a mistake, however it was unsettling knowing that we had walked into a room where someone else’s personal property - which should be secure in their apartment - wasn’t.

We were very happy with our stay in the Mantra Esplanade. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They made our stay a happy experience. The facilities were really good. The AC was so nice because it cold us from the really hot weather. It was close to everything. Just walking distance to groceries, restaurants, the lagoon swimming pool and the pier for the boats to go to green Island and the great barrier reef. Special mention to Barbara the front desk receptionist. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you to all the staff for you Special chocolate present you made our Anniversary special. It made us feel so welcome by everyone. We highly recommend Mantra Esplanade to future guest.

We booked a room on the Esplanade side. The room was very spacious and clean and was too good for only one day's stay. The street was busy but with the windows closed there was no noise at all and we had a quiet stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Even though it was early in the morning, they were willing to help us with temporary storage of our luggage after check-out. I would use this hotel again. エスプラナーデ側の部屋を案内していただきました。通りは賑やかでしたが窓を閉めると静かで気持ちよく過ごすことができました。2ルームを予約しましたが部屋を入ってすぐにさらに2つの鍵付きの扉が付いていて2家族でもプライバシーが守られるようなっていました。部屋はとても広く清潔で家族もとても驚いていました。ラグーンも目の前、レストランも多くあるエリアなので立地は抜群です。 スタッフの方はとてもフレンドリーかつ親切にしてくれました。キュランダ観光のため朝早くのチェックアウト、さらに荷物の一時預かりをお願いしましたが快く応じてくれて本当に助かりました。

This service apartment is perfectly located. While they do not have a restaurant, there are plenty of options all around, plus you have a kitchen if you want to cook. The availability of a washing machine and dryer was a god-send as we were on a long tour and needed to wash our clothes. However, I took one star off the overall rating as they were the only place I encountered during a 3 week tour of Australia and New Zealand charge for wifi. Even though Accor members were supposed to get free wifi, I could never get it going and had to use my mobile data.

Centrally located with bars and restaurant at the doorstep. Pleasant environment, ideally located next to the Esplanade. Every staff member approached was extremely pleasant and displayed a readiness to address your needs. Overall, it's a very convenient place to stay when visiting Cairns.

We chose the hotel based on location and we wanted a kitchen to cook for ourselves occasionally. We were super happy with our lagoon view 1 bed apartment. Spare towels and loo paper would have been helpful but overall highly recommend.

The hotel was really nice and located in a great area right in front of the beach, with lots of dining and shopping options within walkable distance. The staff were amazing and really friendly, and always happy to help if we had questions or needed things for the room restocked. The rooms were for the most part really clean. Potentially there could have been another sweep though the bathroom, but other than that everything was great. It's also walking distance to Woolworths which is really convenient if you want to pack/prepare food for day trips. The free parking included with the room was really handy, especially because we picked up a rental car for some day trips. Overall the experience was great and I would definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed our stay here best of all location. Also really nice to have a good size balcony and chairs. We enjoyed the pool it’s not big but we used it a fair few times and the lagoon opposite was fab. Staff very friendly and helpful would recommend staying here

I don't think I could be paid to stay here again. The room and bathroom were the most dated awful room I have ever seen. The wifi did not work at all for our entire stay. When I asked Reception Staff about why the wifi wasn't working, she shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do. There are very limited gym facilities (no weights) and the one treadmill was out of order. There are basically no facilities at all - no room service, no breakfast, no housekeeping. Limited free parking nearby but none available while we were there so we drove around for 30 mins to find somewhere to park. I have stayed at many places in Cairns City and in my opinion and experience, this was by far the worst.

Perfectly located and within walking distance to pretty much everything. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. No housekeeping to rooms if stay is under 5 days (or at an additional charge if required). The only issue with this is that the bin fills up really quickly and there is no spare liner to replace it. Overall very happy with my stay and would definitely recommend.
