Stayed 2 nights

Decent sized room for a family room, nice grounds, that’s where the positives end. Room was not clean and we had no housekeeping on our 2 night stay to rectify anything. We paid extra to stay here because there is a pool for the kids but when we arrived it was closed for maintenance and we did not have any other times to use it as our itinerary was quite busy and it closes at 6pm usually anyway.’ We paid for the breakfast for both mornings, this was not great. Food was greasy and gave some party members an upset stomach. The plates and cutlery were not very clean, I had to search through 15 plates to find one without food on my first visit and these had supposedly just been cleaned. The coffee on offer is pathetic with just instant sachets available which is the same as in the room anyway. If you want a nice coffee you have to cough up another £3.50 at the barista which I was going to try but the card machine was not working so I ended up walking away and getting one at Greggs en route to our activity which cost less. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel overall unless many improvements are made. The hotel is tired and dirty in general and not great value as a result of this.

room smelt of damp, room carpet was soaked from leaking shower, fan for room didnt work properly so had to take to bits and fix. card machines throughout hotel didn't work so they refused drink service for 2 hours until logic prevailed and they booked against rooms. Ran out of food so people ordered in pizzas Looks good from the outside but that's where it ends. Police patrolled the car park which is never a good sign, car park stank of weed. how anyone give this more than a 1 star review is beyond me

Most staff not friendly , couldn't even speak or smile at you when passing. Booking in no information was given about facilities or timing of meals. When i went to my room, door had been left open with a wet towel. Small lift to get to restaurant/bar area was not working but nothing was mentioned about this before arriving or on checking in.
