The hotel is Instagram worthy on the surface. It’s a hip boutique hotel that is aging and to its credit, being addressed with a pool renovation. Unfortunately that was not clearly represented when I booked so it was a disappointment to arrive and not be able to enjoy a dip. The front desk gal checking us in didn’t seem overly concerned about my disappointment or even surprised I wasn’t aware, which rubbed me the wrong way. Not that I was expecting anything but a complimentary drink, parking, room upgrade, or a simple “I hope we can make it up to you”, would have gone a long way. The room I booked was basic because it was only for one night (and I planned on a quick dip and a sleep) but I was really disappointed in the stiffness of the mattress. The view was probably the worst on property, facing the car park so if this is important to you, book appropriately. I was awoken to a screaming mad man coming from below. Not that the hotel was responsible for that but just a fun extra to add to my disappointment in the property. Hotel gets points for a fun vibe in the restaurants on site and a great location. The pool does look like it’s going to be great when it’s finished. I’d not rule it out but be aware of its limitations.

Check in and check out was very brief. Simple and easy and the staff were polite and helpful. The only downfall we experienced was the shower gel/shampoo/conditioner bottles in the shower were either empty or close to empty and the cleaning staff barged in the room three times with us being in the room even though I didn’t have the please clean room sign on the door. Not exactly ideal when we were trying to get changed after a shower and ready for the event we were there for. I asked them to come back so I could finish getting ready and they barged in the third time saying they need to clean it now as they need to head home for the day. They ended up cleaning the room while I was getting ready.
