We loved the hotel. It is truly beautiful, and you can feel its long history in the walls and atmosphere. There is currently an extensive renovation underway, which means there is some noise and one of the pools is closed. However, we were kindly offered a room change due to the noise, which we very much appreciated. The only area that could be improved is the cleaning. The rooms were tidy, but we felt that the floors, tables, and surfaces could have been cleaned more thoroughly. It was acceptable, but not quite at the level we expected from a hotel of this standard. Our main concern, however, was the pool maintenance. During our stay, the pool walls became increasingly green/yellow, and nothing seemed to be done to address it. When we mentioned it to the pool staff, they appeared offended, which made us feel uncomfortable. Before this, we were thinking this might become a hotel we would return to year after year. Unfortunately, the pool experience has made us somewhat unsure about that.

Centara is such a convenient hotel to all the amenities of Hua Hin. Access to the beach is great and if you’re not interested in the beach the pools are all excellent options. The hotel itself is grand with incredible old world charm. All the town has to offer is within a 15 minute walk.

The Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin provided us with an amazing stay. We had a basic King bed accommodation with a partial ocean view. It was a wonderful place to be. This historical campus preserves its interesting past but is also kept very much up-to-date with two large pool areas and right next to the beach. The staff was incredible, and the hospitality shown was excellent. There’s even a daycare for young families. The food selection was very good and the cocktails were well made. It is also minutes walk from great places to eat, drink, or get a spa treatment in Hua Hin proper and to visit the night market. The hotel was also very secure and well-monitored it was already a safe town.

We had a great time and loved every part of our stay. We realize that it’s a slower time of year however we think it’s important that all services are available for your customers. Little things like no bartender at the swim up bar and a few other amenities being closed gives a sense of missing out. We can’t wait to visit again. We miss you already :)

Stayed for 5 nights to relax from BKK. Great hotel with beautifully sculpted grounds. Excellent staff. Nice and clean pool. Security was tight and stationed at all entry points. We go the HH every time we visit Thailand for short getaways but have always stayed at the Hilton. This time we decided to stay next door and were not disappointed. Awesome resort and definitely will return.

Wonderful 100-year old colonial hotel with four pools, beach and garden park in Hua Hin. Excellent service, restaurants and bars. Find yourself thrown back in time and indulge in the atmosphere of the past and classic travelling and recreation. Afternoon tea in the Museum and a G&T in the Elephant Bar. Marvellous.

This hotel is the best hotel I have ever seen. Location, staff, food and the garden/building is top class. But from Jan 2026 and at least another year maintenance and building on the site means noise. It is a shame because everything apart from this was fantastic.

Always enjoy my stay at Hua Hin Centara Grand. This time I want to give 5 stars to Nim at the Elephant Bar. She was very kind and is given so much of the cleaning duties she still has the demeanor to be pleasant. I would also like to highlight Folk breakfast attendant. Above and to satifisfy my coffee desires. Unfortunately, the quality of coff÷ is poor. Inspite of this, he attempted to bring out choices. He was attentive to my tea needs on subsequent days. The bed matteress was not very comfortable. My two stays have been excellent otherwise. Excellent food choices, clean beyond compare.

Centara Hua Hin is the most beautiful restored colonial hotel, you really get a feel of yester year Our ocean view room was literaly next to the beach, spent lots of time on spacious balcony enjoying the view and peacefulness. The old world furniture is fantastic, breakfast was 10/10, singers and musicians in the Elephant bar wonderful, staff in this bar excellent. Hotel on beach and close to centre of town so great location Overall definite 5 star experience would definitely recommend 😊

Grand 1920s colonial style hotel. Reasonably well maintained but my room was tired and various things didn’t work well (door, plug socket). Room also fairly small by today’s standards in Hua Hin and old style fittings in bathroom. Demographic is almost entirely white European couples aged 65+. Creates a peaceful environment but may not be for everyone. Coast restaurant good. Breakfast a wide choice but lacking a little in some areas by today’s 5 star hotel standards (eg nuts and seeds). Old coffee machine; a newer one would make better cappuccini. A gap of eight years since I last went, apparently. Front desk didn’t note I’d been three or four times when asking me if was my first visit there. In eight years, nothing has changed: no enhancements, same gym machines, old fashioned sun beds etc. I suspect the many returning clients like the no change thing but the competition has moved forward a lot in eight years. With some investment and imagination, the hotel could probably broaden its demographic. If it wants to. Maybe it doesn’t. I sense returning clients are well looked after. At times, we couldnt get apparently vacant sunbeds and had to find another pool because ‘users returning’. This shouldn’t happen or at least set ‘returners’ an 60-90 minute absence time limit.

Also no hand held bidet sprayer next to the toilet. I understand they are keeping the historical charm of the building and they’ve done a great job with that. The garden are amazing.

We stayed in one of the villas with a private pool. Big, comfy bed, good water pressure from the showers, jasmine scented soaps / shampoos were very nice. The outdoor tub was excellent and filled very quickly (less than 5 minutes). Very relaxing atmosphere and they did a great job separating all the pool areas to make it feel like a smaller hotel, despite it being a big resort. Garden areas were beautiful and well maintained. If you're staying in the villas around NYE, be prepared for some noise as the villas numbered in the 400's and 500's back onto the public beach where revellers will be lighting fireworks until early hours - not recommended for light sleepers - but it is New Years after all so celebrations are to be expected. No issues with noise from Jan 2nd. Good food options for Vegans and vegetarians.

Mixed review. The room was amazing and dpacious with an enormous bed and I had a great view overlooking the sea. The housekeeping staff and the team at breakfast were also very friendly and always greeted, but the rest of the staff were a bit stand offish, especially at the pool. I went to The Club one evening to get a coffee and something small to eat, but was told they only had a buffet and it was mostly for club members, even though the sign clearly says hotel guests welcome. It was suggested I go somewhere else, which I did and did eat again, other than breakfast, at this resort.

Back to Hua Hin Thailand and third time lucky arriving at this impressive hotel reception with the most welcoming of welcomes, cool drink, classic check in and personal greeting from the manager Jan before being whisked away on the golf buggy to our large pool villa located across the beach road. We felt like we had arrived home. Please see our previous reviews and enjoy our update here. The villa was large, private pool just as large as last time, with a comfy outside day bed for breaks out of the direct sun. Inside, a very comfy super king bed, and ample storage, perfect for longer trips or larger families, easily sleeping up to 4 persons. Rustic charm, unique and definitely not branded like the chain hotels nearby. A really nice base for a visit to Hua Hin, located right in the middle of everything and Grand by and in nature. Check out was friendly and private, located in the villa section, bags taken care of from the room to departure. It was sad leaving here but I won’t forget the smiles and waves from the manager and staff as we left this great hotel. The real gem here is the staff, with service now 5 star plus. Land of smiles starts here by far, nothing is too much trouble, guest centric and thoughtful service, especially in the club, staff remembering likes and dislikes and ensuring comfort by directing sun canopy’s and fans when needed. The Centara Grand is our Hua Hin home away from home and we will be back.

Colonial style resort set in beautiful gardens. The low level nature of this hotel was reminiscent of discreet grandeur in a good way. The staff were professional and very friendly. The setting was amazing, right on the beach, with plenty of pools and seating areas to choose from. The Coast beach restaurant was a nightly favourite. Hotel also close to local shops, eateries and night market.

This hotel is in beautiful grounds and is well kept. It is in a great location with shops, restaurants and the beach nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful. As we were staying in a suite, we had access to club benefits and it was definitely worth paying the extra money for this; especially the delicious afternoon tea. We love this hotel and will definitely be visiting again!

The property is unique in the area, it has a colonial feel and being only two storeys you are not in a hige block of concrete. The gardens are immaculate and extensive. The staff cannot do enough for you and nothing is ever an issue, including the manager Yan who makes a point of speaking to everyone during the course of the day. The food at breakfast and at Coast restaurant are superb (didn't visit Hagi restaurant so can't comment).

Excellent hotel at a great location right on Hua Hin beach! We received an upgraded room (JR Suite?) very spacious with a massive balcony overlooking the pool and sea. The 2 pools were very nice and water temperature was very refreshing but not freezing! The sea was VERY warm! Very nice beach and you can walk out quite a ways! We ate at the pool restaurant a couple of times which was very good. This was the second Centara Grand we stayed at (stayed in Pattaya as well). Highly recommended!

The hotel had several pools around the property giving you the option to be in or out of the sun at various times of the day. The grounds are extensive and are very well maintained giving a very relaxing feel to your stay. Breakfasts offered a wide selection with new options coming up each day. The 2 for 1 cocktails at Happy Hour was a good way to end a day by the pool. A nice touch was when the hotel unannounced, provided a small chocolate cake for my birthday.(Obviously the date picked up by staff at check-in from my passport)
