Leonardo Hotel Antwerp The Plaza

The staff are nice and friendly. But the hotel is getting a little outdated. Lift is broken with only one just about working.

The bed was comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were clean with no noise issues, which made for a decent night's sleep. However, the hotel didn’t quite meet our expectations for a 4-star rating. The location felt quite far from central Antwerp, with the train station about 2 miles away. The hotel is in a very heavily Orthodox Jewish area—worth noting if you’re expecting a more typical tourist setting. Facilities in the room were limited; only one coffee pod was provided, and extras came at a cost—not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. The bathroom felt more budget than premium, and the wardrobe had no doors, which made the room feel less refined. Light from the corridor came into the room through gaps around the door, and I had to block it using a bed runner and suitcase to get proper darkness. We’d also called ahead about parking and were told two on-site spaces were available, but they were taken when we arrived. The backup parking was secure but a 10-minute walk away. There weren’t many food options nearby, and the hotel’s menu was very limited. Overall, this felt more like a 3-star property compared to other 4-star hotels we've stayed at recently. Clean and quiet, yes—but lacking in convenience, service, and polish.

Nice hotel, first time driving outside of the UK and I found this place ok, car park is a tight squeeze in from the street and a little confusing so would be worth calling a couple of min before you get there to check availability. Otherwise parking on street should be fine as the street / area seems like a safe neighbourhood. Hotel is really lovely, a good 20min walk into main area of Antwerp is only downside, we’ll be staying closer into the city next time but making use of the hundreds of electric hire scooters around the city is a must, gets you around so quickly using cycle lanes. Hotel clean and staff are really friendly and helpful, we stayed in the Suite and the room was really nice but had a few tired related marks (some sockets abit loose etc) but am definitely not complaining. Would definitely return, I do enjoy Leonardo hotels and usually pick them - next time I’d be likely trying the Leonardo hotel right outside Centraal station. Only negative are pillows but we also had this issue at Radisson Blu in Bruges, perhaps a Belgian thing!

Die Einrichtung des Hotels war sehr gut nur war das Badezimmer leider dem nicht so. Vergilbte Boxen und Fön entsprechen nicht dem Rest des Hauses. Die Betten sind super bequem und wir hatten einen tollen Blick über die Stadt. Leider ist die Parksituation schrecklich. Bis zum nächstens öffentlichen Parkhaus läuft man circa 10-15 Minuten und von dem hoteleigenen Parkhaus auch circa 5-6 Minuten. Ansonsten haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

I like this hotel. Very comfortable clean and convenient. Staff sometimes too tough. One elevator is not working a year already. How long does it take to fix it?

This property was excellent for us based on our need to be in a specific location and specific needs to spend the Sabbath at the hotel. Room was large and the balcony lovely. Breakfast was mediocre, crowded and poorly staffed. The elevators were old and tricky. Parking is cramped. The property was modern and useful but nevertheless seemed dingy. Staff was helpful in a non-friendly way.

Parking is a bit of a problem

Mooi Hotel met alle comfort en ruime kamer met terras. Gratis upgrade ontvangen. Rustige ligging. Ontbijt was gevarieerd en zeker voldoende. Goede ligging op wandelafstand naar centrum. Parkeergelegenheid op de straat was niet gemakkelijk om te vinden.

The hotel is in a nice area right by the park. It is easily walkable to the city center with lots of restaurants and a almost daily farmer's market. The room was nice and spacious. The bed was nice if a little firm, but the pillows were lumpy and should be replaced. However, the key cards did not work meaning we had to have a physical key for the room. That meant that housekeeping couldn't clean our room without us being there. Additionally, we found the front desk staff during check-in to be unfriendly and rude. We were told there was no parking spaces available and also that they didn't take reservations for parking. We ended up driving around trying to find a parking space on the street that night. However, we found out the next day that they do, in fact, take parking reservations. They also have a deal with a parking structure nearby so I'm not sure why this wasn't mentioned to us on the first day.

Poussiere dans placards. Drap avec petite dechirure. Ecoulement lavabo poussif (obstrué ?) . Petit dejeuner léger sur le salé. A contrario: vaste chambre avec beau balcon, salle de bain fonctionnelle, belle literie, personnels de reception agréables. Bon souvenir tout de même.

Die Eingangstür war defekt und anstatt das mal jemand die Tür aufmacht, gab es durch den Mitarbeiter nur seltsame Hinweise per Handzeichen, wie die Tür zu öffnen sei. Der Mitarbeiter war ohnehin sehr unhöflich und wenig hilfsbereit. Das Badezimmer war nicht anständig gereinigt, was durch Haare in der Dusche und Spuren in der Toilette bewiesen wurde. In dieses Hotel werde ich nie wieder gehen.

on Thursday and our room 19 appeared clean. Your reception staff are courteous and welcoming. Amir couldn’t do enough to sort out the problem with the rooms. Your cleaning staff are inadequate. Not the staff themselves but your penny pinching policy dressed in environmental issues is not suitable for a hotel. If I wanted to be an environmentalist I would live in a tent. I requested extra towels twice and finally had to get them from reception. Friday morning we were woken up by a man entering our bedroom, apologising that he was told we had checked out. We then asked at 9.30 11.45 and 2.30 for the room to be cleaned and were told that it would be done at 5.30 In the end we had to move rooms to 24 because the hot water was not working. On Friday evening we again requested clean towels Again on Saturday midday and again at 2.30 The cleaning staff finally arrived at 5 but I was unwell and didn’t let them in. Very comfortable clean and ideally located

Je viens assez régulièrement à cet hôtel depuis 20 ans. L environnement de l hôtel est devenu déplorable. Les poubelles ne sont plus ramassées par la municipalité. Des centaines de canettes de bière et des poubelles eventrées jonchent les trottoirs alentours. La chambre commence à tomber en ruine et en désuetude exceptee la salle de bain. La décoration n a pas changé depuis 20 ans. Boîte à mouchoirs accrochée qui ne tient plus au mur. Chaises dont le tissu se décolle. Papier peint au mur arraché à divers endroits. Ascenseur qui fonctionne une fois sur deux. Gardien de nuit qui demande des cigarettes aux clients. Clou de cette réservation : le ménage n est fait que si on le demande via un QR code ! Tout ça pour réduire l empreinte carbone ! On croit rêver. Jamais vu ça. Je me demande comment on peut attribuer 4 ou 5 étoiles à cet établissement ? Cela vaut à peine 2 étoiles. Trop déçu je n y retourne plus.

Leider nicht ganz sauber (Haare im Bad und im Schrank) und das Bad im Vergleich zum restlichen Zimmer sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Schlafzimmer war aber schön und groß. Zudem gab’s einen begehbaren Schrank

Dit hotel oogt mooi op scherm, en de receptie en bar zijn ook gezellig. Het receptieteam is vriendelijk. Maar verder is alles oud, vuil en zie je nergens personeel. De kamer was ronduit smerig; er kropen mieren en de meubels plakten. Er lag een haar onder het laken, de douche had nog een ouderwets gordijn, er waren geen aminities, de koffie is niet te drinken… je voelt dat hier bespaard is op alles. Niet ok dus. Spijtig voor het personeel aan de receptie want ze moeten constant met klachten omgaan waaraan ze niet veel kunnen doen. Zijn geld niet waard, ondanks de goede ligging.

Dès notre arrivée , petit problème , nous avions réservé deux chambres , à la réception qu’une seule chambre d’après eux avait été réservée !!! Nous lui montrons le mail avec le voucher de la réservation de deux chambres , rien à faire il était 23h30 fatigué et bien contrarié nous cherchions la manière de contacter au plus vite Hôtels.com après 10’ minutes on nous rappelle en nous disant tout ok ! Autrement tout c’est bien passé, établissement bien propre et bonne literie , petit bémol drap déchiré sous l’oreiller, ce n’est pas à la hauteur des étoiles indiquées …

The room was large and comfortable. It was a really good to relax and spread out in. Many european hotels are pretty small but this was larger than most American hotel rooms. The breakfast was perfect. I’m not big into heavy greasy breakfast. They provided good fruit nuts and eggs. Cereals and yogurt were there but also vegetables like sliced peppers and olives. It’s much better for getting going to walk and explore. The staff was always nice and even helped me find the right location. I ended up going to the one next to the train station but they got me over to the plaza quickly. I didn’t spend enough time in the lobby but it looked nice with a good view of the street in the front or with an open area out back. There’s a lot of nice nooks to get comfortable in. There’s also this really nice park like five minutes away. It has a kids park and sculptures. Really lush and great for taking a relaxing walk.

Great room, big balcony overviewing the city

De kamer was ruim, netjes en modern ingericht. Het bed vond ik persoonlijk wel erg hard, dat was jammer. Grootste minpunt was echter het feit dat de airco op de kamer het niet deed. De kamer was erg benauwend daardoor. Ik heb al met al niet goed geslapen helaas. Het ontbijt was oké.

room says sleeps 3 but nly had 2 beds so i asked for a folding bed and they charged me xtra money

The room was good, but please can you please provide bigger garbage can in the rooms. it barely fits a tissue. Separately my fridge was not working at all. Also the TV has very limited channels, a lot of the channels are completely distorted, you can hear but not see anything. The cleaning crew came by on Saturday to clean my room, np but they shut the heat in my room, the weather was very cold . Not acceptable

Higher-end, clean hotel. Bit old fashioned decor. Bathroom needs an upgrade with walk-in shower. Outside can be noisy when the window is open.

Lovely stay in a beautiful room. Room was exactly as described and lived up to expectations. Very spacious and well kitted out. Would recommend for sure.

Near city park en city centre. Friendly and helpful staff. When we arrived there was only a room with a kingsize bed available even though we asked for a room with twin beds. Nothing was possible since they were fully booked, but separate bedding (sheets and duvet) were delivered asap to the room. Next day when another room became available we received a call and were transferred tot a room with twin beds (and a great upgrade as well).

Our room was not as advertised but in general the hotel was good. However the staff were not in any way friendly, during any of our interactions, which really let our stay down.

Great stay in this nice hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again

Really nice stay due to great staff, comfy room, good buffet breakfast and location

It is a very nice and good looking hotel. It gives a nice and luxurious feeling for yet a good price. It lays in a easy district quit near the stadspark, it was for us even fine to walk from the hotel to the city center.

No shops for basic amenities nearby

The location is near the train station.A lot of shops and restaurants.The hotel staf is very friendly.

There is a wonderful courtyard in this building. Huge space, lots of people could enjoy it. The rooms are tiny. And there is next to know business around for a few blocks, outside of a couple of corner stores

Très bel hôtel, bien tenu, un vieil hôtel, mais très bien entretenu et rénové, belle salle de bain et literie confortable. Il est dommage néanmoins qu’à la réception en Belgique, on ne parle pas français. Petit déjeuner qui aurait pu être un peu plus luxueux pour un quatre-étoiles. Séjour agréable et globalement très satisfaisant.

Fijn hotel, aardige medewerkers. Het is erg rustig, maar daar hou ik wel van. Het ontbijt is wel heel klein opgezet, dat ben ik anders gewend maar alles stond dus geen reden om te klagen. Het enige nadeel is dat als je op de 7e etage zit de ochtendzon vanaf 5u ‘s morgens voor wekker speelt.. misschien toch donkerdere gordijnen of luiken?

Das Zimmer war sehr schön und die Einrichtung des Hotels ebenfalls geschmackvoll. Leider entsprachen die Außenterrasse nicht dem Hotelstandard, sie war seeeehr unsauber und die Bar war am Samstagabend nicht besetzt, so dass wir keine Getränke einnehmen konnten. Das Frühstück würde ich nicht nochmal mitbuchen. Da gibt es bessere Gelegenheiten außerhalb. Die Herren am Empfang waren äußerst freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir haben den Eindruck, dass es in dem Hotel an ausreichendem Personal mangelt. Trotzdem hat es eine sehr schöne und angenehme Atmosphäre.

Mooi hotel! Erg leuk weekend gehad. Als je een Stepje neemt ben je zo in de stad, 5/10 min ongeveer. Goeie kamer, fijn bed. Ontbijt was beetje duur voor wat je krijgt. Dus wij hadden de 2e dag in de stad ontbeten.
