Staff were polite, helpful, and efficient. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. We liked their afternoon tea, priced reasonably. And the background string octet provided relaxing ambience. The gym was big and well-equipped; it also had a room for classes. Stayed only 2 nights, but thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Rooms are extremely old, and smelly. And don’t know why, but most male staffs at the front desk are extremely poor at customer service…they don’t acknowledge your request or concerns…I had stay here for two nights prior, so for my second trip, I asked the staff I’d like to have a cleaner room because the first one was filthy and the drain doesnt work…. He just ignored my request without a single acknowledgement…

I've stayed at the Shang many times over the years. This was just off. Very damp musty room. Smell of mold. My bed felt damp. Granted it's raining season but it was unpleasant . Showehead was substandard as well. Plugged up and weak.

Staff are lovely and very helpful. Corridor and room smelt damp. Furniture a bit dated. In room service food arrived cold. Food service trolley covered in something that looks like my grandmother would use. Also similarly the napkins in Circles the restaurant were of a shiny purple fabric which looked oldfashioned and very unsuitable. The music offereings in the lounge were far too loud.

While this hotel offers great security, lovely Christmas decor, malls galore within walking distance and an abundant breakfast, it is lacking in service and attention to detail from the staff. I had an issue each day of my stay. There is an odor of moisture in the air in the lobby, hallways and rooms. I came back to my room and a device to “refresh” the room was there. Later an ionizer was put in the room. I was never notified. We changed rooms which is always a hassle. I had to complain repeatedly to get a refund for the night stay, for being in a room that clearly had an issue. We had trouble finding an IT person who could cast Netflix from an iPad. The person who helped us walked into our room without even speaking. The attendant and breakfast walked passed me 4 times and never once served me, but helped the man across from me who got a mug for coffee and we got paper cups. The women’s changing room/spa in the gym doesn’t allow children so l wasn’t even able to steam, sauna, jacuzzi or relax. I asked if she could just sit in a chair while l steam for ten minutes. While l was in there the attendant gave my 10 year old daughter a release form for her to sign MY signature! She’s TEN! Crazy. On the last day, l met Frencie who seemed to “get it.” She apologized and said that she would address the concerns & arranged a car for to the airport. Overall the hotel, the music and the food were great, but for the price, Shangri La Makati has a lot of training to do with their staff.

위험한 때에 가서 그랬는지는 모르겠으나 입출입시 차는 금속탐지기와 마약견으로 보이는 대형견이 검사했고 건출 출입시 짐검사를 매번 했다. 안전과 직원들의 서비스는 5성급에 맞았으나 객실로 가는 복도에 카펫 곰팡이 냄새가 심했고, 객실 역시 그 향이 났으며 욕조는 배수구가 녹이 쓸어있었다. 수영장은 이용하지 않았고, 컨시어지에서 식당 예약을 부탁했을 때 직원이 친절하게 잘 예약해주어 이용을 편하게 했다. 직원들의 서비스는 최고였으나 시설이 너무 노후화된 점이 안타까웠다.

I've stayed at this hitel every time I've visited the Philippines. This is the first I wasn't completely satisfied. This visit the TV never worked properly, the sink didn't drain right and the elevators were really slow. I love this property so this was disappointing because I've always rated it 5 star +.

Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to the standard of my previous stays. The reception staff were excellent, the pool area is wonderful, and the breakfast offers an outstanding selection. However, our experience at the Steakhouse restaurant was very disappointing. Our meals did not arrive at the same time, and one salad was served so late that my colleague had almost finished her main course. No apology was offered. We also had to ask the waiter to put the Veuve Clicquot on ice, and most concerning, our red wine was repeatedly placed in the ice bucket. As we had invited business associates, this was particularly unfortunate and quite embarrassing.

The hotel amenities are very good as well as the staff. However, its buffet breakfast wasn’t worth it for the price. Very disappointing, to be honest. Very limited choices and can hardly cater esp if guest is a non-Filipino. For my 3 days of stay those very limited menu choices were exactly repetitive. If I may suggest, the hotel needs to be creative and plan for great choices. If. not, then just tone down the specified price. Hotel has to consider catering to non-asian guests as well when it comes to menu availability, esp that Makati Shangri-la is located in the country’s central business area. There’s still more room for improvement.

The hotel itself is nice and in a good location, but the rooms, staff and food are terrible. The rooms have a smoke detector with super bright blinking light which turns your room into a kind of night disco making it impossible to sleep. Also staff knock on your door at 8 in the morning for a mysterious"room inspection" despite the do not disturb sign being on. The food from room service and the pool bar are also not great.

There was a little cockroach infestation. I saw at least two, one in a to go coffee maker in the breakfast buffet and one randomly in the building. In my one night stay, half the lights went off on me. Thankfully the other half worked and it was nighttime so by the morning I just opened the window curtains for light. Otherwise, staff were wonderful and the place was beautiful.
