Stayed 2 nights

I have had generally good experiences staying at Palma Real, but I left with a very negative feeling this time. I stay here because they have an electric car charger. Prior to departing on Monday, I intended to charge at the free ICE office charger next door since it was a weekday, but it was out of service. When I went back to the hotel, someone else was charging. I went to the desk to find out until what time the other client had reserved the charger. She said she couldn't answer that because it was not a client, but rather a boss who was charging his car. I stood waiting for her to offer to tell him that a client needed to charge, but no offer was forthcoming. I felt inhibited from asking her to do so because she was a young woman and I was concerned that the boss using it might consider her "insubordinate" for asking him to disconnect his car. (At breakfast, I observed what I suspected to be an act of sexual harassment by a boss of the breakfast attendant.) The hotel is nice--clean, comfortable rooms, location, abundant options at the breakfast buffet--but the issue with no answer about how long until the charger would be available/prioritizing the boss's use of it over that of a client, and the ugly incident I observed at breakfast really damaged the hotel's reputation in my eyes. I have zero complaints against the staff under the boss.

Stayed one night. The location was perfect, right next to the rental car pick‑up, which made logistics very easy. If I had stayed longer to explore the city, I would have chosen a hotel closer to the city centre. The breakfast was excellent and a great start to the day.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. All or most are also at least bilingual in Spanish and English, if that is important to you. The location is within the city of San Jose with lots of restaurants, shopping and a large sports complex within walking distance.
