Clean room, Clean pool area

Was just ok. Room was clean. Tv channels didn’t match to station it stated, so was difficult to find correct programming. It said there’s fitness room and that room was empty. It said there’s a pool and hot tub. But sign said hot tub broke. Condition of building definitely showing its wear.

Under construction, the breakfast was average, had a waffle maker which was nice. Pool was freezing whirlpool ok. Was quiet, everything worked in the room as it should’ve.

This hotel needs some work. just one example is the hot tub jets dont work. i only paid $90 so get what you pay for i guess.

Hotel has went through some definite improvements. Hot tub is GREAT! Nice and HOT! Pool could be warmer. Breakfast Friday morning was dissapointing, as the food at 8am was dried out and hard. Notified front desk. They said they would let the manager know. The manager, when informed threw it out without replacing it, or even talking with us at all to inform us about the breakfast shutting down early. So we ended up going out for breakfast. That was the worst part of the stay. The rest of the staff were very pleasant.

Main lobby is being remodeled at the moment so that was a turn off. Small details such as the gym being closed and looking neglected. Had trouble navigating TV channels as they were all labeled incorrectly.

We stayed for 5 days/4 nights. The front desk, maintenence, janitorial, and cooking staff were all great! Very helpful. The hotel itself is in disrepair. Our room door did not feel like it closed tightly without the additional locks in place, our window did not open, the sun deck was COVERED in spiders, the sauna just has odd mis matched chairs, the restroom in the pool area is dilapidated at best, etc. The breakfast was okay, it has 2 waffles makers and usually an egg/sausage options. I would've liked to see some variety, but understood you get what you pay for. At the very least, the baked goods could be alternated and a little bit more fresh. Lastly, we did not have any hygiene products in our room on arrival (no soaps, tissues or anything), the cover blanket was stained, the floor was dirty, and their was still food in the mini fridge. Overall, it wasn't disgusting and the staff was more than accommodating so I would stay again.

TV was annoying “smart” TV that didn’t show channel names. Netflix and other “smart” options didn’t work. Pool was fine but good luck getting a clean towel there. The kids walked back without a towel 2/3 times.

Had a great time with family enjoyed the pool and hot tub wish the sauna worked though

Blood stains on blanket on one bed and on sheets on the other bed. Phone did not work. Kleenex box was empty and when asked never received any. Numerous outlets not working. And biggest of all, there was a ginormous wasp in the room and when our friends when to front desk, front desk gave them a fly swatter and said they could try and kill it or we could move rooms. Shame on them for that. They should have sent someone to take care of it.

Terrible pillows, hard bed, fitted sheet off before even layed down, and didn't stay on., air conditioner extremely loud, would of been nice if they turned on before our arrival to get rid of damp smell in room. Even bedding smelled yucky. Toilet almost clogged. Didn't live up to Amerivinn standards of others i stayed at. Very dissatisfied.

I regret to say that during my stay some property of mine disappeared from the room me and my partner were staying in. I brought this up with the front desk, and they assured me that none of their staff were on the same floor that day. They checked security cameras and insisted that no one got into my room, which I find difficult to believe given my missing property. Additionally, I need to talk about communication and general cleanliness. The hotel was lacking in housekeepers, so that if we wanted our room cleaned, we would have needed to inform the front desk. This fact was never made clear to us: no one mentioned it at the front desk, and there were no signs anywhere indicating this. We were only made aware of this when we were checking out. Consequently, we spent four days in the hotel waiting for housekeeping to attend to our room, which never appeared. I would not stay here again, nor would I advise others to.

First room given had never been cleaned and obvious the place was under staffed

When we arrived to our room I noticed it wasn't as clean as it should be, so of course the first thing we check was the bed. The linens were stained and the comforter had old food on it. I understand things happen so I went to the desk and was going to remake the bed myself, while waiting for linens we looked around the room some more and realized the coffee maker had the old filter in it and was covered in mold, the bathroom had hair and wasn't very clean and overall we just were not comfortable staying in it. After waiting 15 minutes for the front desk agent to let us know is going on, I walked down to the desk and heard him on the phone talking about how we were just causing problems and it wasn't that bad. Then he proceeded to tell me how the GM doesn't like to work, that he calls people in when he's supposed to cover the desk and that the head housekeeper is his cousin and he doesn't make him responsible for anything, including checking rooms after housekeepers are done cleaning. We ended up switching rooms for one night and then having to move the next morning back to the original room because the room that they moved us to was not available for two nights, which put our plans on hold the first morning waiting for the room to be cleaned and then moving.

The breakfast was good but few places to sit at low tables. We did not like the dog poop found on the floor in the room. It was almost midnight and my husband took care of it. We don't have a dog. If the floors were vacuumed they would have found it. Hotels.com charged us $50.00 more than the price of the room. We are working with the hotel on a partial refund. It made it seem like I was making the reservation directly with the hotel directly and not through hotels.com. Will try not to use their service again.

Clean room

Hotel looks like it is not maintained well. Dirty windows throughout hotel. Room was dusty on floors and beds squeaked with every movement Towels looked like they were not cleaned and had to ask for washcloths which were not in room when we arrived.

I'm not sure how this hotel had such a high rating. It's not well managed. On the plus side, our room was clean and the king bed was comfortable. On the other hand, everything in the hotel seemed dirty: the elevator, the walls, garbage was stacked next to the garbage can for one day. The ice maker wasn't working for 3 days. The fitness room was stacked with stuff. When we went to the hot tub (which was warm and roomy), there were stacks of dirty towels in the basket and on the floor, but no clean ones. We had to switch to a different room because you couldn't open the refrigerator door. It banged into the closet and the closet wouldn't open. I must put a good word in for the lady working the desk. She was extremely helpful but was in a horrible situation of having to do everything. She's the one that had to restock towels in the pool area and bring extra linens to the room. The breakfast was okay but no half and half for the coffee and no hand sanitizer for a buffet. In short, we were disappointed, but at least relieved to have a nice bed to sleep in.

Rooms were clean and updated; the kids enjoyed the pool and the pumpkin waffles; nice simple overnight stay with our pup before we hiked at Devil’s Lake State Park.

The floor coverings were very nice, there was no noise from outside of the room but the heat was so obnoxious that it wasn't possible to hear the TV. The tub drain was very slow, the tv remote didn't work very well & they only offered instant coffee in the breakfast area.

The beds have seen their better days, very uncomfortable, woke up with back pain. The pillows weren't any better, flat as pancakes and no support

The property is old. The walls are peeling and cracking.

The rooms were super quiet except for the Aldi trucks unloading. Pillows are awful. Flat & small. When we asked at the front desk for a couple more, we were told they were all out of clean pillows. We also asked for a couple more hangers & the desk person said “um, I don’t even think we have hangers in the rooms”! No one was at the front desk when we checked out. There was a note saying “no desk person available, please leave your door cards on desk”. The “sun deck” has 2 dirty tables & 3 chairs. Sounded wonderful when we booked but found it to be very disappointing.

It looks like the rooms have undergone some renovation. The rooms were very clean and incredibly spacious. More importantly, the beds were very comfortable. Not too firm but definitely not too soft. We got a good night's sleep.

The front desk was missing for 30 mins at check in, at night with my young child. Also missing at check out delaying our exit.

Our air was out in our room and no one would help us. We complained, again, on the last night of our stay and this is the first time someone gave any interest in helping us. Later, this gentleman told us he spoke with the GM and we would get that night for free. We did not have that night credited on our bill. When asked at the front desk why not, this gentleman stated it was because we booked through a third party. However, the GM should be able to take care of it. I still have not been credited this money and it has been 10 days.

Our first king room was missing Kleenex, hand soap, paper cups to go with the coffee maker and we had to literally body slam the door to get it to open and close. There were large patch spots above the window where a curtain rod had perhaps previously existed. The window didn't open and the air conditioner was horribly noisy. I attempted to report the issues to the manager the next morning (we were staying 2 nights) and he was impossible to reach. There was no one at the front desk and the instructions were to pick up a nearby phone and call. I did that and it rang and rang, only to be sent to a voice mail box that was full. I tried twice over the span of 15 minutes; same result. I tried again 90 minutes later and finally got to speak with someone. He said he couldn't fix the door, only put some WD 40 on it (the hinge on the door was BENT, so that was a ridiculous fix), but did offer us another room. It was a hassle, but we moved to a different and upgraded room. This was a two bedroom jacuzzi suite. It was nice and the usual ammenities were provided. However, the towel bar in the bathroom appeared to have been pulled off the wall (part of it still attached) and was missing. Again, the air conditioning was ridiculously noisy. The breakfast was OK and we were looking to recycle some items and were told to just put it all in the trash. There were recycle cans in the hotel rooms, so why couldn't the the breakfast area couldn't do the same. Wouldn't stay again.

Fastest check in ever. Polite, quick, professional, personable....best check in ever, and we travel a LOT. Our experience was better than the other families who stayed at the overpriced Ho-Chunk.

Overall, our stay was horrible. Evening/overnight staff were unimpressive, however morning staff was great. Every air conditioner we encountered was caked with lint requiring us to clean them ourselves. We requested a rollaway bed and it took over an hour to receive it while being told there wasn’t any extra pillows, sheets, or even blankets to accommodate our group. Bedding was stained with an orange color. The pool was alright but there were never towels. We paid for late checkout but cleaning staff weren’t informed resulting in getting walked in on (luckily nobody was changing or indecent). For a group of 7, we weren’t provided enough towels and required to ask multiple times before receiving any more. Laundry was awful and half of it didn’t work, staff was unhelpful, resulting in having to run around town to find quarters just to do 1 small load. Overall, we won’t be recommending nor staying here again.

A well-located hotel, giving the chance to walk or drive short distances and find excellent food options. It was comfortable, clean and spacious.

Nice location

We had ski weekend in Devils head and Cascades and stayed here in Baraboo. Nice pool and jacuzzi after day of skiing. Bed was so cozy with soft pillows, we felt like in the clouds.

Easy access to 90/94

The staff were great, friendly and cheerful. the breakfast was really good for a hotel. Keep it up. The hot tub and pool were perfect temperature. We found our new weekend getaway spot. Just minutes away from lots of activities. Yet feels small town. Walking distance to many stores or restaurants.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful and very accommodating. The hotel is perfectly located between the Dells and Devils Lake State Park. The room was spacious and impeccably clean. We will definitely be back.

Great restaurant on premise

All was fine EXCEPT brkf. Went down @ 6:10 (starts @ 6:00) and noticed 'oven mitts' on lids to scrambled eggs and sausgae patties so assumed they were "hot" - they were not. Tasted OK except not used to barely warm scrambled eggs; a problem with heater? Also NO milk. Tried to speak to someone @ Frint Desk but they had a sign saying 'helping a guest'. Hopefully this was just an unusual one-time event. Room was clean &n 'fresh' as was overall hotel.

Very small tv. The food for breakfast was cold, tables were dirty. Nobody was around to make sure food was stocked. Lady behind the desk not friendly had an old hooded sweatshirt on and stocking cap. When i called to double check my reservation that i did online and didnt get an email confirmation she was very rude. She told me i didnt and i asked her to make a reservation and she told me to call the dells first because it probably went there and i asked can you just make the reservation and then i would call the dells to check and she said no that i had to call there first.

Very nice property. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was excellent. Great Italian restaurant next door.

Very clean. Easy check in. Restaurant attached to the hotel is very good and service all around is friendly and attentive. Would easily stay here again.

Breakfast was terrible, and don't ever try and talk to anyone at the front desk they don't answer. The rooms are clean but need new paint job. Check in was really quick, only time I was able t get ahold of the front desk.

The swimming pool was overly treated with chemicals. Ventilation was bad in the pool area. When we walked in to the pool room, the chlorine smell was so much that our eyes burned and our throats burned. I know this had to have been a safety hazard for those that were swimming. We turned around. It did not even go swimming. We could smell the chlorine on the first floor and the pool is on the fourth floor. Breakfast was lackluster. Apples were old and selection was poor.

Out-dated but clean hotel. Comfortable beds. Pool was a decent size but had several spots on the bottom where the smooth finishing had come off. Restaurant attached to the hotel was good. Free breakfast was good.
