Hampton Inn & Suites Birmingham-Pelham (I-65)

Not enough parking. Elevator did not work properly. Whole facility looked tired. Worthy of current renovation project.

Stayed here one year ago. Was undergoing remodeling. Quite a mess!! One year later, still remodeling and a worst mess. Loud noise outside all night long. Mattress hard a a rock. This isn’t what I expect from a Hampton Inn. Not staying here ever again.

Due to construction and remodeling, there were some areas that were an inconvenience such as only one working elevator and ice machines on floors that didn't work and you had to go to different floors.

I had a great experience at this property! Brooke at the front desk was very helpful and made herself available with Great customer service. Also a great price considering the size of the rooms and facilities. The gym has everything a golfer needs to get ready for a round.

This was the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever witnessed. I chose Hampton Inn & Suites even though it was more expensive than other options in this area because I wanted to ensure my family would have a great experience and it was anything but great. When we arrived there was NO PARKING in the lot and the desk clerk identified a spot to park right next to a dumpster and not in a designated stall. My family had just driven 12 hours at that time and we had an entire week's worth of supplies in the back of my truck that I was worried about all night long considering the ridiculous parking location I was forced to occupy. Our room had NO TELEPHONE so complaints to the front desk required me to constantly go back and forth, with the alternative offered being "use your cell phone". There was no materials for food options in the area, TV channels, or how to access WIFI. All of this required multiple trips to the front desk and the only response I received was always "I apologize." I apologize but I paid FULL PRICE for two rooms and was completely taken advantage of because we had no other options. The hotel offered nothing other than empty apologies. I will NEVER stay in a Hampton Inn & Suites or any other related chain hotel and will share the same with anyone/everyone I know. Terrible, terrible, experience.

Some renovations occurring!

Everything was great. The hotel is being renovated and looking great. Clean and modern.

It was a clean and newly remodeled hotel however the room was unfinished with paint on the walls. Loved the gym, very nice and enjoyed my workout before we hit the road the next morning. They weren’t very friendly when it came to the breakfast, went to get just coffee after my workout and they were closing it up, didn’t ask if I needed anything, which I didn’t but I’ve stayed in places that were accommodating!

Staff was not friendly upon checkin, no rooms were ready, told to come back in 30 min, came back and had to wait another 40 min. Rooms were not clean, carpet was sticky and bathroom was dirty. Will not stay here again.

Bugs (roach and something else). Bed had serious dip right in the middle. Dropped something on the floor and looked under bed. It was filthy.

There were ants in our bed Sunday morning. I took the sheet to the front desk full of ants.Photos sent to the Hilton. com site. Up until then one of our rooms 105 carpet was very sticky. I reserved 3 rooms.

The hotel was clean and quite. Check-in was easy. The hotel is convenient and has many places to choose from to eat near by. I will stay again.

The only thing we liked about this property was the location, but that is not enough to make us return to this particular property. The room was not clean. Desk clerk gave me makeup wipes and a roll.of paper towels so I could clean off the sticky spill all over the nightstand. Hair was all on the shower walls and floor had nit been vacumned. We wore our shoes, needless to say. We were awakened at 8am after a concert night by blaring music coming from housekeeping in the hallway for 30 minutes. She just glared at me and kept dancing in her bare feet while "cleaning" in the room next door when I went out and asked her to turn the music down. The tv remote did not work, so no tv... The refrigerator was not cooling, therefore our leftovers had to be thrown out. Coffee at the coffee bar was not hot. We travel 10 to 12 times a year and stay in many places. This is the first time I have ever left a bad review of a property but something needs to be done here!

Room was comfortable but there was a carnival going on next door and the band could be heard until almost midnight on a Sunday. Breakfast was just ok.

I booked this stay from reviews. So when it wasn’t up to par, I was disappointed. The room was so dark! No adequate lighting. Even with every light on it was dark. I first thought it was old and outdated, then on closer inspection I saw the carpet was new… It was just such a dark color!! The furniture was definitely dated and the bathroom was not very clean. I had to go purchase cleaning supplies and clean before I could stay there.. They could use a new designer for the upcoming improvements. Black, burgundy and hunter green have been out for years and years!! Lighten it up!

This was definitely not worth the price charged. They were several other hotels in the area for far cheaper and were likely just as average as this one. Small room, older, such uncomfortable beds, air conditioning made room feel moist. Blah.

Rooms were in progress of being redone so things clashed! No pictures so it was boring. Nice kitchenette area with desk that worked. For a table. Very friendly staff and great breakfast!

I was impressed on the quietness of my room almost to quiet to sleep but the morning was a different story for me to be at the end of hall it was very noisy the need of some sound proofing would be nice

When we arrived, no one was at the desk. There was a sign that said “be back in a few minutes”. We waited about 15 min in the lobby after an exhausting drive.

We checked in a little later, around 10:30. The front desk staff seemed to have no clue what they were doing and just stared. There was an issue with the credit card machine and the person didn’t believe it and had me run my card twice before saying never mind. He didn’t disclose the floor of the room and just handed the key to me. My husband went down to purchase a couple waters an hour later, the front desk person asked if we wanted to charge to the room and my husband said he had cash, the man couldn’t tell him the exact price of the water and said “I think $7”. The next morning the elevators didn’t seem to be working. I visited the front desk to ensure I wasn’t charged a fee twice and no one was at the desk to help. Apparently a staff person left and no one was available to cover. All in all my stay was fine but I think there needs to be more organization with staff.

While the desk clerk, Vicky, was very helpful, when I first arrived she was outside smoking right at the doors!!!!! I detest, and am allergic to cigarette smoke!!! Nothing worse than having to walk through a plume of cigarette smoke after driving all day and then smelling like that when you get into your hotel room!! I wanted to turn around and leave but I had prepaid and was not able to get a refund!!!!

Our bed was clean, but this property is really beat up. It is currently under renovation, but it seems like a quick cover-up. Our bathroom shower head was new but fell off when the shower was turned on. The worst part was a rude check-in. They had oversold our room and said they had called earlier in the day to tell us. We were never called. I had prepaid the room and the lady acted like we should try somewhere else, but since it was 10pm, I said we could do a different room—not what we paid for—to which she did find. It was annoying that we took the time to make a reservation, paid for what we needed and ended up with something we didn’t want with our youngest daughter needing to sleep on the floor. The two ladies at check in acted like they were doing us a huge favor. This one was a double thumbs down.

The location is great if you are going to the stadium a short walk across the parking lot. Other than, couldn't get housekeeping to make our beds, or freshen our room daily- even though we actually requested.

Friendly and helpful staff. Ample local amenitites. The girls loved the Starbucks next door.

Convenience to the expressway.

The property was a convenient little stop off of I-65 on our way to Florida. It was clean and close to a few restaurants. We took our small Bichons with us and it was pet friendly.

They are remodeling but it is still quiet and nice. The roo was a little dusty in a couple of places. We were disappointed in the free breakfast ( eggs runny,sausage lukewarm). We would still stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay which was only one night while traveling to Florida but it’s pet friendly and slightly nicer than some other places and the beds were very cozy. The complimentary breakfast and coffee were great. We were happy with our stay and will come back.

Shower was dirty, phone in room did not work and asked twice to get it replaced. It never got replaced. Shower door only open on side water comes down from. Breakfast was a 4 on 0-10 scale. Fridge was barely cold. No separate freezer section in fridge like her hotels.

There was trouble at check-in. The clerk seemed swamped with people. He did his best. Later we asked for a cup of milk to take our meds with-which we do wherever we stay-and while the clerk did get us the cup of milk, he stated repeatedly ( at least 4 times ) that Hampton does not do this for guests! (Hampton has done it for us in multiple locations.) The breakfast bar was ok-think we got spoiled when we stayed at the Evergreen location the week before! It was fantastic there!!!!!! Thank you for keeping nice, quiet, attractive rooms.
