Great location right on the beach. The patio has nice lounge chairs and captains chairs, with blankets and towels available. We were offered a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival- and sat in the chairs and sipped the bubbly as the sun set. Rooms are nicely appointed with great smelling toiletries and a nice bathroom. We walked the beach, felt safe, and were happy with the room, service and ammenities (keurig in the room, but self serve automated espresso machine in the lobby). Great place, great value.

Very cute hotel with personable, friendly staff. We loved the warm welcome, including an early check-in, and the seating are with gas fire pits facing the beach. Nice to use boogie boards, beach chairs and towels and bikes as well. The one downside was the parking situation. It was graduation and Father’s Day weekend and incredibly busy in Del Mar, which exacerbated the demand on the small parking lot. There were several times we could not park in the hotel lot, causing us to use the valet next door or street parking, and one time none of those were an option so we had to drive around for an hour and come back. Not ideal, but for everything else that was great, we would definitely stay again.

Adjoining rooms were great. Really loved access to boogie boards and other beach equipment. Spent lots of time on the lovely back patio, watching sunsets and chatting with family and other guests. Highly recommend!

Wonderful! Beach front hotel with lovely deck chairs for lounging and sunset watching, soft blankets for a cold evening, a glass of pink rosé bubbles offered upon arrival, Beach cruisers available to the guests as part of your stay. Definitely an eco-friendly stay: the lobby has a beautiful coffee machine for complimentary lattes, and wine and pastries available for purchase. On site drinking water to take to your room in a pitcher. Walk next door for 2 very nice restaurants. Perfect for a romantic couples trip, with our dog. Dog friendly property and only 10 min stroll down the beach to the off leash dog beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. All in all a very wonderful experience! Highly recommend, five out of five stars

Great location, great vibes, nice rooms. My only complaint was not having an elevator. Hauling large suitcases up and down stairs was not ideal, but good to know in case it's a deal breaker for you.

Location is awesome. Hotel staff was helpful, service was excellent. We liked the patio area with fire pit and comfortable chairs. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Many places to eat within walking distance. Hotel is dog friendly for a fee.

Beautiful updated oceanfront patio with lounges, chairs and umbrellas that overlook the beach 🏖️. Watching the waves and families enjoying the surf while sipping a cold drink ( available onsite). This hotel is literally on the sand‼️ You can’t stay closer to the beach than the Del Mar Hotel. There are 2 outstanding restaurants right next door. No need to drive anywhere, just relax and enjoy.

The facility is literally on the beach. Their patio, which features upscale beach lounges and chairs, is excellent for watching the surf without touching the sand and lugging beach stuff. We went in early October when everything is quiet and the weather still summer-like.

This is a little gem of a hotel and very well run. Looks recently updated. Everyone was nice and more than on top of things. Perfect location. Parking can be a bit tight so we just walked or ubered. Restaurants next door are great. Pizza up the street. Beach etc. The beds and pillows were comfy - rooms a good size. They cleaned the exterior hallways at least twice....had towels and wine and were constantly on top of things. We had a small Expedia issue with the booking and the property manager was above and beyond. We will be back Del Mar Beach hotel!

We loved this resort and this little town it was definitely a great place to stop after being in LA. Everything seemed clean and it was the bed was comfortable. But we ordered pizza in and didn’t finish all of it and by morning there was ants and other little bugs all over it. I guess we should have gotten rid of it or something. Other than that it was a great one night stop off. We could see ourselves vacationing in this area.

The decor is fresh and bright. The rooms are well appointed with a small fridge and Keurig coffee makers. The beds are comfortable and the complimentary coffee bar in the office was delightful. The best part is the beach access. We enjoyed walking to the beach and having a little rinse station when heading back to our room for our sandy feet. The downside was the television was glitchy so we couldn’t enjoy a show after a long day of playing in the ocean, and the cell service was bad. Also, due to the year the hotel was made, the walls seemed thin and you can hear the TV next door, each and every foot step..etc..etc. Overall, good value for an on the beach location.

Our room was fresh and full of natural light from the large shuddered window. Wow that surf and sand mural over the bed is stunning. Clean and fresh bedding and bath decor. Then, just step outside and you are a few steps from the sand and surf just beyond the spacious patio. Thank you! We do hope to stay here again soon.

Cute boutique hotel. Everything was great. The shower wasn’t a closed in shower which was a little cold. And the shower pressure was very low, making it hard to rinse shampoo out of your hair. Otherwise it was cute and comfortable. .

I was lucky enough to have a room on the very end of the building. I could literally be on the sand in less than 15 steps from my door. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only negative I can say about the hotel is that I could very obviously hear the footsteps from the guest above as well as their tv. They weren't loud late or early so it wasn't a problem at all. I will definitely stay there again.

I love staying here. Only issue we have is the bathroom shower head. It is one of those "rain" shower heads, horrific. No pressure, trickles. I understand you are upgrading all of them to have a shower head and a wand type as well. Next time I visit, I will call and see if we can get a room with that shower head. Other than that, the place is a dream. Wouldn't stay anywhere else. Staff is the best anywhere. Love the atmosphere and the amenities for the beach. Coffee and the free danishes is so darn good. Also, the Chairs, boogie boards for body surfing, towels. Thank you all for the best place to stay.

A/C did not work, they could not fix, then they told me maintenance word come the next day, but apparently maintenance had the day off? And now second night 85 out cannot sleep I would have just stayed home. If you book this property thru Expedia they just give you their crappy broken room.

This is a lovely hotel but they need to work on their communication between staff. There were several issues that were not well communicated among the staff. Also, TV did not work nor did coffee pot or Espresso machine.

I love staying at Del Mar Beach Hotel. The location is perfect, great sunsets on the patio and wine under the stars while hearing the ocean waves. Drake checked us in and went above and beyond with an error that I made with my reservation and the night woman, I think her name was Madelynn, was so helpful and always went of of her way to help us out. Thank you and I cannot wait to return!

Our stay at the Del Mar Beach Hotel was absolutely excellent. The service was top-notch from the moment we arrived—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the beach, which made it incredibly easy to enjoy the ocean at any time of day. We also loved being within walking distance to Del Mar Village, with its charming shops and great dining options. This hotel is a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and coastal beauty. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This is an amazing property & so relaxing to stay there. There is a Train track near the hotel but it goes thru the town so you will hear the train from other hotels as well

The attention to details are so amazing. Welcoming rosé, beach toys and equipment, cappuccinos 24/7… The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The property is in an amazing location right on the beach and by the park and the hotel is very modern and cute. Highly recommend!!

Best kept secret in San Diego. Everything is within walking distance. Del Mar and the surrounding area is impeccable. Property is right on the beach. If you love dogs, this is a great place; Dog Beach is right there. Had a great time just watching the dogs having fun playing in the water and running around chasing each other. Horse track is less than 1 mile away. Great place to watch the sunset. Highly recommend.

Beautiful updated oceanfront patio with lounges, chairs and umbrellas that overlook the beach 🏖️. Watching the waves and families enjoying the surf while sipping a cold drink ( available onsite). This hotel is literally on the sand‼️ You can’t stay closer to the beach than the Del Mar Hotel. There are 2 outstanding restaurants right next door. No need to drive anywhere, just relax and enjoy.

We were in town for the race track. Your hotel is perfectly located. It’s a 7 minute uber to Del Mar racing. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Wife enjoyed the shops. Also being right on the beach was great for early morning walks. Very relaxing visit.

Del Mar Beach Hotel is, as its name implies, right on the beach. The location is amazing for spending a nice morning drinking coffee or eating breakfast looking out as the waves roll in. There are two restaurants, Poseidon and Jakes, that are literally about a 1 to 2 minute walk for anyone looking for a nice sit down place. The staff were so kind and answered every question I had and even provide a complimentary glass of rośe to enjoy in your room or on the back patio with a picturesque view of the beach. There is parking provided on site but it fills up quickly. The room itself was pretty nice and spacious enough and while nothing too fancy it was a nice and quiet stay. For the location and staff I highly recommend this hotel for a nice and relaxing getaway from the stress of life.

This place is simple but nicely updated, and it is ON THE BEACH. There are steps out the back and you are on the sand. They created a very lovely back patio area where you can watch the sun set over the Pacific. Thin walls, no elevator and a “wet room” shower that is gratuitous and annoying but the staff were nice and helpful and the room was very cute. They have made the most of a dumpy building in a great location. They don’t have a restaurant or bar but right next door is a very good one with wonderful food and patio dining with Ocean views.

The receptionist was extremely helpful and so nice upon check in. We enjoyed our complimentary glass of wine after a long day of traveling. Our room was so beautiful. We enjoyed being able to check out beach chairs, towels, and beach toys and walk straight out onto the beach. We allied Nextdoor to Poseidon’s for dinner and enjoyed it.

This was the perfect location! The hotel steps right onto the sand and was a short walk to many great local restaurants, bars, and shops. We were welcomed with a glass of wine when we got there and walked down to the lobby every morning for lattes that were also included. The staff was friendly and kind, and the hotel has a roomy parking lot to fit our large vehicle (we drove). This is an ideal location for pets. We brought the dog and walked to the dog beach everyday.

We had a great time there and will be back. I appreciated not being charged for parking overnight and beach umbrella or chairs for the beach. We had to pay for parking in a lot across the street because they do have limited parking, but they take it off your bill when checking out! Super nice staff with complementary coffee and filtered water in lobby to fill up carafe.
