Can't beat the location of the Argonaut. Walking distance to so many great restaurants and sights..and classic cable car boards right next door! Hotel restaurant is excellent for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Super comfortable rooms, great bedding, and the huge lobby with fireplace is perfect spot for morning coffee or late cocktails! Our 3rd time here, and we will definitely return.

We were so happy with our stay at the Argonaut. Our room was very clean, and cleaned thoroughly each day. We used the fitness room, and were pleased with the variety of equipment provided. We had a spectacular view of the Warf.

This is a beautiful property inside and out; and a free Museum is attached! Everyone from valet to concierge was so welcoming and friendly. It literally felt like you were staying with friends! The rooms were cleaned and the beds were 10/10 comfortable! We don’t eat at the restaurant, but the coffee was great! Such a nice facility. The location could have been better! A block away from the Buena Vista and the trolley! A street lined with food options and right across from the beach. It was quiet and felt very safe. Will definitely come back!

This hotel is older and the rooms reflect it. The bathroom had to be cleaned after we checked in bcuz it was not done properly beforehand. Water did not drain. Hair all over was gross.The beds, pillows and chairs are quite used and it shows. We had an interior court room and the noise was still pretty loud. I would find a better, newer place for same price.

Its very convenient and the area was safe and clean. The hotel had great ambiance and trendy decor. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was larger than it looks in photos. The fridge held a ton of leftovers and waters. Beds and pillows were comfy. The only complaint is....the shower tile grout and around the shampoo/soap dispensers inside had mold and mildew that needed attention. The rest of the shower and tub was clean, probably hard for housekeeping to get inside the shower for a proper clean. We will definitely stay again! Great hotel!

The hotel was in a prime location and the check in and check out experience was wonderful. Our room had dirty coffee cups and no conditioner in the shower. The restaurant staff could have tried to be welcoming - but that seemed to ask a lot. Aside from that, everything was very clean and we would return

Great spot close to all the shops and tours gor Fisherman\'s Wharf. We had a "courtyard view" room - which was a view of the neighboring rooms, but great spot, nice little restaurant/bar attached (we just had drinks, so can\'t comment on the food).

This hotel ended up being better than I thought. If you're a super light sleeper like I am, you may have issues unless you get a "courtyard" room (just inner walls & a couple plants.) My room was on the street but on the very backside of the hotel. Day time was still noisy but night was quiet enough. Beds/ pillows sup comfy. Inside dark/ no natural light but nice & clean. Only had drinks at the restaurant & they were so bad we sent them back. Didn't try the food. This was disappointing. ALL employees were nice & helpful. BUT our stay was tainted by a BUNCH of sneaky & undisclosed extra fees. They advertise valet parking as $75/ night (you have no other choice if you have a vehicle.) But when you checkout they charge you a "tax" on the valet so it ends up being $85/ night. Just be upfront & honest & say it's $85. Then all the other taxes/ fees also, which isn't necessarily the fault of the hotel. However they double charged us for parking. When we tried to call & discuss both the front desk guy & front desk manager tried to tell us the bill was correct & to just accept it. It was only after we didn't let up that they acknowledged & corrected the mistake. But even the correction they didn't fully refund us. Whether that was an honest accident or another sneaky attempt to extort more money, I'm not sure. They did eventually fix that as well but it required yet another phone call on our end. This truly soured the whole experience which was otherwise wonderful and pleasant.

The conversion of an old warehouse building to a present day hotel was done very well. The nautical theme throughout was also attractive. We were hoping to get a view of the bay and Alcatraz island but instead we got a view of a brick wall.

Bug in my drink at the restaurant. Elevators completely not working on night two of my stay. No global message from hotel to room voice mail. I had no idea why I could not go downstairs from the third floor. I had to call and they finally sent someone to take me down the first stairs. A full refund was warranted but never offered.

We have been going to this hotel since it opened. about 7 times. 1. When we first started going second week open lovely place. Great people, very polite and helpful. 2. Over the years it settled and still a nice 4.5. 1. This time carpet smelled. They said they are remodeling and carpet as well. 2. I understand a billing mistake but billed twice. That does not happen in a 4.5 hotel. Got fixed but I think they do it so they can get parking, drinks food. And insured it’s paid?? Hope just a mistake. We all got hit hard with COVID and SF took a beating. I look forward to staying again when there back to a 4.5 . I am sure they will along with the wharf and downtown. One thing I will say, doormen supper nice, John? And the parking guys. House cleaning friendly and a smile, Front desk, very friendly and bar tenders not helpful not friendly.

Some staff nice, some not. They told us we’d have to pay $75 extra to check in before 4:00 pm! Totally ridiculous when the room is sitting ready!!! Most front desk staff were not particularly friendly. They have a restaurant, and we went to get drinks and no one came to serve us. We told the hostess who said someone would come soon. After 15 minutes we left. Totally rude. There is no reason to stay here except for the location. Side note - sadly lots of restaurants have closed in the last few years in the area. It’s so different than it used to be.

If you’re traveling to San Francisco for tourism with kids don’t look further. This is the perfect hotel in terms of location. Everything is in walking distance, cable car, pier 39, Lombardi street etc. nice view of the Golden bridge from the rooms on the 4 th floor. Room is spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. The restaurant on site is expensive but so is everything else in the area. The breakfast was definitely worth. We would not stay anywhere else for a family vacation in SF.

The hotel is amazing, location is perfect, checking in was a breeze. Just save yourself from the restaurant. The service is great but the food is seriously gross. There’s so many amazing restaurants in SF highly suggest not eating here.

The Argonaut is a great place to stay, easy access to all the attractions, The Blue Mermaid has a great menu, we had multiple meals there and enjoyed everything. Staff is great, any questions just ask. Would easily book here again for a future trip. We have stayed in all the major chain hotels on the wharf over the years but the Argonaut is the nicest by far, had a great 3 night stay! Thanks

The staff at The Argonaut is so friendly and accommodating. The Blue Mermaid is excellent for breakfast (coffee for hotel guests starting at 7 am), lunch, dinner, or cocktails, with a fabulous staff, especially Peter! The rooms are spacious and clean. There is plenty of seating in the lobby if you’re waiting for transportation. The location can’t be beat - walking distant to so many restaurants, shops, Ghirardelli Square, and the piers. This was our fourth stay, we will be back, and we recommend to everyone!

The hotel was really nice. My only complaint was in the restaurant where I had a white milk soup which was supposed to to be clam chowder. Worse clam chowder I’ve ever had- and no taste of clams. Just little crunchy veggies and 3 minuscule pieces of clam. Other than that- our stay was very comfortable.

Great and unique hotel located in an awesome location next to Ghirardelli Square, the original trolley, Scoma’s, Fisherman’s Wharf and more. Also an easy walk to China Town and Union Square. The Blue Mermaud restaurant has the best clam chowder we have ever eaten; it's delicious!
