This is the most customer-friendly hotel I have experienced - and I travel six months a year ! Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms even at lower price-tiers - significantly nicer than some hotels that are twice the price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !

This hotel is packed with charm on many levels, from the architecture, amenities and furnishings to the superb staff who could not have been more friendly and hospitable. It's ideally located a couple blocks from the Montgomery Street BART/Muni station in the heart of the city. Dining, entertainment and culture are virtually at the doorstep. Because it's so central, we did have some noise from late-night revelers, early-morning garbage trucks and nearby road contstruction. If that might be bothersome, ask for an interior room rather than one that faces the street. We could not be moved because of capacity, so the employees went above and beyond to make up for the disturbance. Other than that, our room was incredibly comfortable (especially the bed and bedding), spacious, and well-appointed. The lobby is another perk: It was delightful to lounge by the fireplace at night, and for those who are so inclined, a late afternoon happy hour is included. There is no breakfast restaurant on site, but the egg sandwiches to go were delicious and affordable. Or, you can easily walk to any number of cafes. The location is superb, within a short (and flat!) walk to all public transit that will get you everywhere in the city and beyond. However, the staff was what truly made it special. They always had a warm smile and a kind word, and made us feel like we were valued.

Overall, the stay was very pleasant. The room was clean and well maintained. We were also facing the open street below and the noise level was fine. Staff was courteous, they answered any questions and concerns that I had. For example, my Doordash order was missing utensils and they were able to provide them without difficulty. I would stay again the next time I come and visit the city.

The room (suite) was spacious and clean. The staff were welcoming, extremely accommodating and nice. This stay exceeded our expectations. In a time when it seems like hotels are cutting corners, this stay felt like a return to real hospitality.
