The Landing Resort and Spa

Great location, great views and wonderful service. Resort is steps away from the beach and a short walk(uphill!) to the center of town. Staff were engaging and provided top notch service. Restaurant has a balanced menu and the food was well prepared. We split our stay with an overnight in Yosemite allowing us to see 2 types of rooms. Both were well kept, appointed and comfortable. Pool and Hot tub were well maintained and a great break from all the hiking in the surrounding area. Will stay here again on our next trip to South Tahoe

Great location, amazing staff, and super dog friendly! As a guest you get passes to access the private beach across the street which was super convenient not only because we walked out our patio door on to the beach but because literally all of the other beaches in the area were packed with full parking lots. The hotel provides a free shuttle (also dog friendly) to anywhere downtown. We had a gas fire pit on our patio and they provided smore kits for our daughter. We will definitely be staying here again!

Excellent location, well maintained, plenty of amenities. Shuttle, Bikes, Beach access passes daily, beach towels, pool, spa, and pet friendly.

An excellent resort hotel. It’s a very comfortable place to stay and convenient for the restaurants at Heavenly village and Harvey’s Casino. The staff were very helpful and made the stay extremely enjoyable. There’s access to the lake beach right outside, a free shuttle and bicycles (we loved cycling in the woods along the shoreline nearby and got to see a beautiful bear makings it’s way down towards the lake). We noticed a few comments about gas fires not working - the pilot light can blow out if there’s been a strong lake wind: all you need to do is ask and they’ll come and fix it straight away). The facilities are faultless and we’d recommend it to anyone). Jet Skis at the marina next door we’re fun too. Thank you to all the staff fir making it home from home during our stay and we hope you enjoy the ski season when summer and fall is over.

Property itself was beautiful located closely to the beach. Staff were very nice and approachable. However, we were not notified that there would be a wedding taking place every day during our stay. Our room faced the mezzanine where bands played until 10pm, making it hard to sleep. The hotel manager waived the resort fees, however our experience was not the relaxing quiet vacation we expected.

We booked massages the day of check-in and were told we would be contacted when the room was ready. After 4pm, we decided to head to the office to find the person who we had checked-in with to find them gone for the day and nobody aware of our request. Also, there was a wedding booked that still at 9:30pm was going strong with music loud enough to feel, not to mention the terrace is not available to anyone else with the added benefit of the wedding party looking into our room if we open the drapes. The food at Jimmy's has been the only saving grace, and not to be petty, but the food credit that Expedia advertised for the room was not provided. Anyway, overall the Landing at Tahoe is a fail unless your in the wedding party. Since the hotel is quite small to host a wedding without impacting other guests, they may consider putting the wedding party in the rooms immediately adjacent to the party and let the rest of the full rate paying guests have some reprieve. We won't be back.

We came for a wedding. Smaller property but every thing we needed or wanted was included. Bikes, pool, ht tub, shuttle service. Mel the shuttle driver was wonderful. Great views. Amazing food at resturant

Beautiful resort on the lake. The staff was unbelievable and helpful in all aspects of our stay. We had massages at the spa and seriously one of the massages we had and we usually get one wherever we travel. Greta and Alex were both fabulous. The restaurant has a great menu we ate there every night, the chef if superb everything on the menu is delicious, nice wine list as well. Very dog friendly, our pup was greeted with a welcome treat bag with a toy and some goodies and goodies. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Highly recommend this place.

We had a great two-night stay here. Very clean, beds are comfortable, employees were very friendly, and you can’t beat the location. Would definitely stay here again!!

Tired property in need of upkeep: rusted stair stringers and railings, cracked walkways. Deep cleaning and maintenance of rooms themselves needed: yellowed tile grout, grimy caulking,

Room was dusty. This property has misleading prices and would be careful of booking here. I stayed at the same hotel last year and I paid the correct resort fee which was shown in Expedia but this year they upcharged on the resort fee shown by saying there is a parking fee.

Amazing, the only question is why didn't they clean the room? What is the level of a hotel that has no control over room cleanliness?

We have stayed at The Landing in summer 2019. Our stay was much different. First, they had also booked a wedding the day that we checked in. Due to lack of rooms, our first room was ground floor with a window AC unit, so you couldn’t open the windows, which was fine because it was a view of the parking lot. After going back & forth with the staff, and being able to secure another room at another resort, they changed our room. This room was better, but was not clean. I had to request several times to have housekeeping to wipe down the leather chairs (they had mystery white stuff on them) and to clean the sticky bathroom floor, I did it myself on Day #3. Also, the shower tiles were cover in pink lime scum. The resort needs some updates and a face lift for sure. When you’re charging over $5k for a week, for a room, expectations are higher. At a bare minimum the room should be clean. A last surprise on the bill was $30 parking fee per day to park my car in their parking lot. Next time we’ll choose a different property, but location is ideal and walkable.

This hotel should not be a VIP hotel. The view is beautiful, but that’s the only thing beautiful about this hotel. The deck and the shower were both unclean when I got there. It took 2 days and several ugly phone calls to get the air fixed. (I will say they eventually waived the resort fee after I gave them a low-scoring Expedia survey about my check-in experience.) The area around the pool and the hot tub looked like an old trailer park setup. The restaurant got our simple order wrong. The parking was extremely limited. I don’t get their high rating — I really don’t.

found a wadd of hair stuck to the shower wall when we checked in. the room was very comfortable other than that. the staff was very helpfull and friendly. found the door to the outside (we were on ground level) was unlocked after the first night.

I was looking for a hotel in the area that was dog friendly and this hotel came recommended. The property itself is really nice and the staff was really friendly. They are very dog friendly which was great and even gave my pup some toys upon arrival. My room was having a plumbing issue when I arrived but they gave me a spare room for us to get ready in until our room was ready. This was really above and beyond. However, when we did get to our assigned room the plumbing issue was still there - the sink water came out milky white... For a luxury resort and spa the room was only ok. I paid more for the garden view which had a balcony but only one chair for 2 guests so we couldn't even enjoy the balcony. Every other balcony seemed to have 2 chairs so I don't know why ours only had one. The heated bathroom floors & toilet seat cover were a nice touch though in the bathroom. The property is right on the lake. There are a few nice seating areas around the property which is nice. They also offer a free shuttle into town (it's a 15 minute walk if you don't want to wait for the shuttle). The one big negative - and it's not the hotel's fault - they are right down the street from a concert arena which blasted loud music until 11pm each night and it literally sounded like it was right outside our front door. If noise bothers you don't stay here. While it's a nice hotel I think it's overpriced for what you get and there are better options.

The full lake view is worth the price. Other rooms appear to not have a wow factor. Private beach access could not be better for those wanting to go to beach. Appears to attract mature adults

Rooms are really nice and clean, the heated floors in the bathroom and heated toilet seat were amazing. Staff is very friendly I would suggest getting a lake facing room, else you view is their parking lot. Jimmy’s restaurant has limited vegetarian options but drinks are amazing! Overall if you prefer cabins over a modern nice room, this is your place! I would definitely stay here again!

I paid for the best lake front view room, but it was second best view room that they said my room was not available for their busy wedding events. The staff was super nice and waived parking/resort fee. But still I think I paid more for this room. Except this issue, I really enjoyed staying!👍👍👍

Walls are to thin

The rooms were fabulous! Loved the design, the fireplace, toilet, heated floors in the bathroom, robes, bed comfort, bottled water, coffee machine in room was easy and cartridges were delicious.

We were put in a room next to all the ventilation for the property. Great view but so noisy. Thought the fan would go off at night at some point but didn’t.

The lake view room was well appointed and with a perfect view of the lake and sunsets. The bathroom vanity area could have better lighting. We were on the second floor and the ceiling soundproofing was poor because we could hear the footsteps from the unit above.

Nice hotel in a great location. Lakeview room was very small for the price. Pictures online were deceptive. Hotel is across the street from a public parking area, so a bit odd to have that between the room and the lake. Food, drinks, and spa were quite expensive. Ended up eating away from the hotel. Many great places to dine in the area. Room amenities include a small gas fireplace, and a heated toilet seat(We'd prefer a regular seat and two ply toilet paper!). Credenza under the T.V. was covered with drinks for sale, including large bottles of water, wine, and bottled mixed drinks. Not necessary. Room was clean and everyone was very friendly. I've stayed at many resorts over the years, and to call this a 'resort' is a stretch.

Totally overpriced, staff at reception not at all friendly given the fact that I paid $1200 for the room. I worked in hospitality for years and this is a joke of a top tier establishment. Proximity to the beach was nice.

The property is in a great location. We arrived early and went to the bar for a beverage. It was lovely, although even though it was not busy not one of the 5 staff even acknowledged us for 20 mins. When we went to our room, the fireplace was not working and we had to ask multiple times for someone to come fix it….even with those experiences I was still happy with the room and our view. We ran into another problem in the morning when we discovered that the shower did not work at all….we called down and were told to pull the handle more….despite trying for quite awhile we never could take a shower. At checkout, we explained again the trouble we had and even showed the staff a video, she stated she would tell management and they would call us to take care of it. We never got a call, but our credit card was charged the full amount. I did reach out to hotels.com and they spoke to the hotel, which gave us a $72 refund….It seemed an odd amount and ultimately, my poor rating of the stay is due to more the lack of care from the staff than the actual issues we had. I will add that one staff member, Jason was very kind and helpful to us when we checked in.

We recently had a below average stay at the landing resort and spa. For a room quoted at $600+/night, we expected a certain level of service which was not provided. Upon check in, no one showed us around the property or gave a tour. The resort fee included a welcome drink, which was not provided. We were not reminded of the $60 food and beverage credit we were eligible for as hotels.com silver members. The room itself was as described but the noise level was unacceptable. On both mornings, we were awoken by noise from adjacent and above rooms. The walls are very thin. At 7:00am Saturday morning, kids were screaming on the walking path next to our rooms. On Sunday morning, the conversation of the patrons in the room above us were audible at 7:30am and staff communicating on walkie talkies were audible outside our room shortly thereafter. This is not what you would hope for on your baby moon. This is not the kind of service I expect to receive if I am paying $696/night. I am still awaiting a response from the front desk for a response.

The day prior to our stay we found out the roads were all blocked unless you have a 4 wheel drive and chains. Neither of which we had or could get at the late notice. We called and the person at the front desk said we would get a full refund but that we needed to call Expedia to start the request. We called Expedia and they called the hotel and were told that they did not accept the cancellation and we were charged the full fee. We then called the hotel and were told they changed their mind on the refund. Beware!!! They will not refund you for road conditions. Side note… my husband has brain cancer and I have Lupus so we did buy insurance. We are having to deal with that because neither of us were physically able to put on chains in bad weather conditions, even if we could get them. The process to get help from the insurance that we bought through Expedia is very difficult.

The customer service is phenomenal at this hotel from the moment your car door is opened when you arrive until your car door is shut when you have to say goodbye! The rooms are lovely, the pool is really nice and wine and cocktails at Jimmy’s is the icing on the cake. Staff will drive you anywhere you want to go within a 2 mile radius which took care of almost all of our needs. I love this place and will keep coming back. I’n a world where customer service is rapidly dwindling, come to The Landing Resort where you get pampered with a smile!

Stay consistent with charges to the customer. Do not show additional charges without posting the fees first. Unprofessional when it comes to check out by the front desk.

Was disappointed in the location of the resort in terms of beach access. Room was first floor steps from the road/parking for beach. Horrible view-considering “beachfront”-basically saw backs of vehicles which were not hotel guests. Strange area-didn’t feel overly safe, beach access was gated and locked, however held open(?)

Close to the lake, central location

Such a beautiful hotel, far enough away from the casino area, but close enough to walk. They offer shuttle service as well. Gorgeous views of the lake and such a nice walking area. The rooms were very nice and the service was excellent.

Our stay was great. I really liked the heated bathroom floors as well as toilet seat!! Property is in walking distance of all the things…shopping, food, skiing, casinos. It’s also right next to the lake which is a nice way to wake up.

Stayed here as a quick getaway with some girlfriends & it was the perfect little spot! Walking distance to the main tourist area with shops & dining options. The lake is right outside the resort however there is a gate that isn’t shown in the photos online. Just a FYI :) It’s open for all! Super convenient

This place was so cozy with such a wonderful staff. The restaurant was excellent as well! Hav already recommended to our friends!

Everything was perfect, staff, rooms, view. Jimmys is the best place for breakfast in all of Tahoe. Great happy hour too!

First off the staff was very friendly. The beach access was nice. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. We didn’t try the pool or hot tub. The restaurant was good but I would say that was are only reason I felt anything was not perfect!

Excellent customer service, heated pool and hot tub, and Jimmys is a 5 star restaurant. The hotel just needs updates to the lobby, walkway to get to the elevator/rooms, and rooms. Also, more privacy between bedroom and bathroom (shutters that won’t stay closed between rooms). Service was excellent and the staff go above and beyond to cater to your needs. Fresh coffee, cocoa and tea were also great.

Great staff in all areas! The location is very convenient. Had a delicious dinner at Jimmy's restaurant.

Poor service at the restaurant. Poor lighting in bathroom. Overhead shower dripped when using hand held shower.

Fantastic location with a lake view. Staff was great and helpful. The property was a bit tired for $650 per night (including fees). Could use some updating. The restaurant Jimmys was very good but a bit pricey.

I was appalled at the lack of care After I made a complaint to the dining . It was terrible service 1 . 2. It was over 170 for a grilled cheese , fries and two pieces of fish no flavor on a few leaves of lettuce . I called twice no one ever returned my call . The place is way too expensive for the lack of amenities and dining . I won’t refer anyone .
