Stayed here for two nights, was a great location and staff were friendly, but there were a couple things we were disappointed by. 1 being the rooftop bar and restaurant were closed for a week for a private event, which was very disappointing as this is a big reason we booked this hotel and felt we should have been told during booking that this would be the case and/or offered a discount. This was only disclosed on the restaurant’s website which I noticed only when trying to book a reservation after booking a room. I also did find a lot of long hair in our shower and it was pretty clear the shower was not cleaned. That was a big turn off for us. Other than that it was a great place, staff were kind and they had free luggage storage which was convenient for us after we checked out. We would definitely consider staying again but will be making sure we have access to all the amenities we are paying for.

The rooftop bar was excellent with a great view of the Empire State Building, but we wish it opened before 5 so we could’ve enjoyed it more than one day. The staff were professional and very helpful. Great walkable location.

Incredible stay in the city. Close to subway, walk to 5th, Times Square, empire. Book here!!! Great service, huge rooms. The best choice for our family of 4! And can use the gym a few blocks away.

While the hotel was adequate in every way it failed to impress. Be careful of service charges that appear included such as facilty charge when you book. That was an unpleasant charge at checkout. Overall ive stayed in much better and with greater value but the hotel provided what i needed and was located in a good position for New York's centre.

Quiet and clean and nice area but food options in hotel only available until 10pm and room service only during the day. Also, hate the daily convenience fee for things you likely won't use. Their breakfast area was not inspiring. Really just a solidly ok place.

Fabulous in every way. No gym in house but other than that...it was terrific. Must be the best train team in NYC. Everyone was beyond kind and cordial. Never felt more welcomed in a hotel.

We received a friendly greeting upon arrival. The hotel feels and smells a bit old. The room was cold, even with adjusting the temperature to 80F. The bathrobes smelled musty. The “clean” water glasses in the bathroom were unacceptably dirty. Breakfast was ok.

We loved our stay here. The hotel was clean and in a perfect location for those visiting midtown during the holiday season. It's so close to Grand Central, Bryant Park, etc. The staff was friendly and parking was easy. We will be back!

Staff is excellent super helpful and very friendly. — room was clean with nice amenities and breakfast was quite good. Gorgeous view of Empire State building and a great location if you like to hop around different neighborhoods in the city.Mattress was an old spring type which was a bit to get used to and there was no mirror except for in the bathroom.

Great older hotel in a great location. The rooms are small, but very clean and well appointed. Bathrooms are quite nice. There is an amazing (but expensive) Japanese restaurant in the basement and a cool little bar with a rooftop patio on the top floor. Location is extremely convenient to grand central and there are lots of food options nearby.

Service was excellent, however the rooms were a bit dated. The rooms were supposedly renovated recently, however, you can see this was only a touch up job as there were things in the room that were in very poor condition (fixtures such as the taps, showers). I had issues with the hot water a few times, and while each time this was fixed very quickly (the front desk and maintenance team were great), it does give the feeling that the hotel has seen better days. There are many other hotels in the area in the same price range so it is hard for this hotel to stand out

The hotel is in a good location and the service is very thoughtful. The only problem is that the room lighting is too dim and the sound insulation is not good, you can often hear the sound of the TV next door, and it is very loud. But overall it is a very good hotel. I would recommend it.

Valet parking was super easy and worth the price knowing my rental was tucked away. The bellhop was very kind. The front desk staff was also very kind. The rooms are older but clean and just what we need. The AC in the room blasts nicely. We had a view of the Empire State Building…so beautiful at night

We had a great stay! Valets/Bellhop Brian & Michael were helpful and friendly, James was hospitable and friendly, and Zack - the GM - went above and beyond in welcoming us to the property and giving me a tour of the spaces so that I was familiar with them for my next stay and in the event I want to host clients at the beautiful restaurant downstairs. I can’t wait to come back!

As a platinum expedia member staying at a VIP hotel i booked a large corner room with the 2 beds for both my husband and myself and also our son to stay for 2 nights. We were given breakfast buffet vouchers for only 2 people and i was declined a 3rd when i asked. So only 2 of us for breakfast each morning without adding extra charges. It was a request that i felt could have been met with little expense to the hotel but great rewards for our overall stay and experience. Disappointed.

Location was good - quiet and away from the busier ends of Manhattan. There was no porter service at the roadside so we had to manage our 5 pieces of luggage ourselves from a busy street into the hotel. Again we had to take the luggage to our room - no offer whatsoever from reception - we were just given our keys and shown to the direction of the elevator. We went for a larger room which was a nice size (tired decor) but the bathroom was too small for two people. Lighting in the room was very poor, toiletries felt cheap and bath towels were too small. No turndown service at night and water was restricted to a bottle each per day. We tried breakfast the first day but it was poor quality compared with the variety on the street - lazy choice of pre packed fare - fresh fruit salad was the only non packaged offering. Overall, very poor experience for the price and we won’t be back. If it was 2 to 3 star you would expect this level.

The breakfast team are first rate. Knew our likes after just one day and made sure to make us feel at home the rest of the trip. Oleg at the front desk should teach a master class in hospitality. He's clearly the top in this profession.

I asked the staff to call a taxi, but he caught and gave me illegal taxi. The taxi asked for unlawful billing and I was scared because of taking into an illegal taxi. The reason I asked the staff to do is because I was afraid catching the illegal taxi. I can not believe and am very disappointed that the staff did thing like that. This hotel ruined my trip.

Repeat guest because of convenient location on Park, reasonable pricing and quiet room. (15thfloor)The breakfast included is very good. Rooftop bar/restaurant has beautiful view. Heated Japanese toilets and towel bar. Lovely lobby and staff. Only negative is the refrigerator is a stocked mini bar with no free space.

The Prince Kitano Hotel was an excellent choice. Extremely friendly staff. The location was a few blocks from Grand Central and an easy walk to Broadway and Times Square. Thoroughly enjoyed this property!

Just spent a very nice long weekend here. The hotel is an oasis of elegance just far enough from bustle of midtown, but close enough to many things: round the corner to the Morgan Library, 4 blocks to Grand Central to catch subways and trains (incl: to JFK). We had a generous sized corner room which was quiet despite facing Park Ave. Dinner at the in-house Japanese restaurant Hakubai was outstanding. I think I will pick this again if next in Manhattan

We stayed for four days and had the same breakfast buffet every morning. It would be better if the menu changed daily and the food quality improved. They charge at least $40 per person, but in New York City, you can get a great breakfast at many bakeries or restaurants for that price. One day, I even found a hair in the miso soup. The pastries tasted like they were bought from a generic store and were all stale. However, the hotel is amazing with great staff. I would like to stay there again.

Conveniently located hotel, the lobby and amenities are lovely, the rooms feel slightly out dated. The bed was okay, the mattress bounced around a lot. The room was a nice size for NYC. Our room was on Park Ave side and was very quiet. Breakfast buffet had a larger variety than most hotels. It was more like a sit down restaurant and the staff seemed to be surprised by how many people were there so it was very slow and we had to ask several times for coffee and water and refills. They just seemed understaffed for a weekend. The rooftop was closed the whole time we were there so we didn't get to check it out sadly.

Fantastic hotel that is exceptionally quiet and roomy! Staff is very courteous. Breakfast buffet has both western and Japanese options. Honesty one of my favorite hotels in the area and I’ve stayed in a lot of them when I’m in town for work. Better than a lot of hotels that cost several times its price (if you like silence, understated elegance, and courteous guests and staff).
