I have lived near this hotel for years and frequent the bars. I finally stayed there and the service was terrible. Few amenities. Gym is laughable. Took three phone calls and an hour to get a toothbrush. They have so many items for sale in the room it looks like a rummage sale. Resort charge is for nothing. Increasingly typical commodified rip off no service American culture. Very rude new door ppl at the bars (and I have probably been to club room 40-50 times). Price isn’t bad for New York but you’re really only paying for a good location while the bar seems increasingly overwhelmed by bridge and tunnel.

Overall the stay was great, however the property felt a little run down since the last time I stayed there. Our room was clean and more spacious than I expected, but could also use some updates. The lounge provided a nice vibe and area to eat and meet for drinks, however Friday and Saturday night got very loud. We could hear the bass until at least 3 in the morning which made it hard to fall asleep. I would suggest a room as high up as possible. Unfortunately the staff was not super attentive or helpful and the front desk sub par. The doormen were friendly and helpful though. We loved having the Soho Diner at the property for late night and early morning snacks. Great area to stay and loved Lucia Pizza across the street for a slice!

This is a fun hip place. Live the outside Gilligans bar. Staff is friendly and glass of champagne at check-in. Be aware on weekends second floor bar turns clubbish but guest rooms are still quiet

Enjoyed the hotel and its location. Easy access to Canal St subway and bars/restaurants. Very comfortable room and bed and well stocked minibar. Nice diner on site too for breakfast.

We love the dog park around the corner. Clean, beautiful, and secured for guests only. For guests with pets, this amenity is priority. Only suggestion would be to have extended hours prior to 7am and beyond 7pm. Wonderful stay and central to the subway straight to time square!

This property is top tier! Obviously, there is an expensive price tag that comes with your stay, but the staff is so kind and greeted us with a glass of champagne and a bottle of water. Then later gifted us a bottle of champagne after looking at my ID and saw it was my birthday! Everyone was so kind and thoughtful with their recommendations for restaurants and kept on making sure we were ok the whole time. I even accidentally left a pair of jeans in the room after check out, and the security and front desk staff were so kind to grab them, let me know that they were left and held them until I was able to pick them up. 10/10 experience, would do it again and again and again!

I have stayed there over the years since its opening , at least 15 times. But for the last few years and since Covid,I have not , due to price mostly and to see other new hotels. The basic service was very good, definitely up a notch. Jose' , the doorman ALWAYS remembers us, which is amazing, and the whole door staff , especially is excellent. I like the jazz bar and I like the hotel lobby bar, although it has lost a little quaintness as it now is more like a nightclub at night as opposed to before, but I cannot hear it in my room on the 6th floor.

Staff is outstanding. The front desk is superb, Tyra and Daniel. The cleaning staff, the lady from the Caribbean. Our room was immaculate. The smell was wonderful every time we walked into our room. Every detail was taken care of. We can’t wait to tell all of our friends and be back.

I hadn't been here in years and it felt like it was a bit less than its previous splendor. Still very nice but it seems like it could use a little facelift and redecoration. A stained carpet in my room for example. But its a very cool place. The breakfast was really great but they need more wait staff. It seemed like two waiters were serving 100 guests when I was there. Might have just been an off day. When I asked the hostess she apologized and the waiter responded.

The coffee maker didn’t work. 3 times I made request to replace, 3 times assured it would be, it never was. Some sort of leak around the toilet (probably coming from the wall behind toilet) both nights we were there. Capet was stained. Soho Grand is showing signs of aging.

We got a very dirty room (pills and dust balls etc) at check in and couldn’t leave w/out penalty unless expedia authorized it, we called and was told no problem to go ahead with checking out early but they never sent the email to hotel. Unfortunately we couldn’t leave and no other room available that night. Hotel switched us next day to a clean room and apologized.

We stayed at the Soho Grand as gift as part of a birthday weekend in New York for my wife. The hotel had an appropriately luxury feel for the price and location. However the club downstairs, open until 4:00 am per the usual in NYC, so it was loud a bit late. The larger issue was that about 3:45 am on Sunday morning someone (probably a climber) pulled a fire alarm, waking us up and ruining the night. We received no apology, rebate or any other acknowledgment of the incident at check out. Worse still, after we got home from our trip we learned we had bed bugs. The only place we'd recently stayed away from home was the Soho Grand. I can't definitively say it was the source of our current infestation, but it's a really safe bet. Bottom line: for being awoken by a fire alarm and getting bed bugs, the hotel is absolutely not worth the money.

The two nights I was there they ran a disco in the lounge until 4 am. I was in the 4th floor and the noise made it impossible for me to get to sleep. The next morning when I asked to be moved to a new room on a higher floor they readily agreed and it was obvious that my complaint was one they routinely heard. This hotel should not be renting rooms on the 4th floor on disco nights.

The hotel itself is beautiful and location is perfect. Our only issue unfortunately was the wifi strength. It should be noted we had such an issue with the wifi over our 5 day stay that management did credit us back one night's stay, so that was helpful since we had multiple conference meetings that kept dropping or had to be switched to a phone call as the wifi was that poor. I'm sure it was a bad router issue and they'll have it fixed but everything else about our stay was first class!

We got booked in a room on 4th floor and could hear the party music on 2nd floor until 2. Could not sleep until then. I’m sure others have complained but we should have been warned. Would have booked different room or hotel

everything was pleasing until one of the staff was rude & hung up on me. Hotel charged me for parking two times on my credit card (I paid cash at checkout) & a additional $115. I was told two different times that It was going to be took care of & I still haven't received a updated email with my refund or my refund!

I showed up at 2am hoping for an early check in and they made me wait outside because it was "unsafe to wait inside". They let me inside the hotel at 7am and then made me wait til 5pm to tell me they couldn't check me in

The staff could not have been more accommodating! I had a very unusual situation occur, and they went out of their way to make sure everything worked out for us. The front desk staff spoke with management and everyone was so very helpful! Great location and wonderful ambiance! Is my go to hotel in NYC.

I have stayed here over 8 times over the course of 4 years and the service is always consistent. More than pleased with my experience here at the SOHO Grand. As a woman who sometimes solo travels I feel safe here. The doorman is always courteous and friendly. The checkin staff are very efficient. Will stay again on my next trip to New York.

Upon check in, I was given a 3pm check out. But upon checking out I was advised I would be charged for a late check out! This was given to me without even asking but somehow I would be charged for it. Not a good experience!

The Soho Grand is in a great location if you like the downtown area- short walk to Chinatown, little Italy, TriBeCa and the village. Great shopping and restaurants and subway access very nearby. Hotel itself is funky with a great in room snack bar.

This hotel seems to be more focused on its bar and club business than on its guests. We stayed for a long weekend with four people in 2 rooms and arrived late in the evening to a very loud lobby packed with clubgoers. We walked onto our floor and were assaulted by marijuana smoke in the hall. When we tried to get food in the diner (which claims to be "24 Hours" we were told they were closed!) On two other occasions, when we tried to order room service during the weekend, we were told they were out of most things, and once they took our order and just never showed up with the items! The location of this property is great, and there is a cool little jazz club on site, but the service is dismal and honestly, pretty rude. With so many other better options in the area, its not a good option. We won't be back again.
