We booked last minute after a long road trip. We had a large SUV filled with stuff and the parking garage was perfect. Super close and completely secure. Hotel staff was amazing and helpful…and it was midnight! Highly recommend the Hotel Beacon.

Great hotel..old world with a nice shine. Staff was great, room was very nice with a kitchenette. There was washing machines vending machines, gym and umbrellas to borrows in case of a down pour. Great grocery store and restaurant just across the street and Starbucks next door. The 72nd subway station was a few blocks down or you can catch a taxi in front of building...or bus 1/2 block away...Central Park and the MET were nearby..plenty of restaurants. Did I say the service was great too! ❤️

It was just great. The only disappointment, and this was minor, they advertised there was a bar connected but that had been closed for a while. The rooms were great, beautiful views.

The room was very spacious and clean. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The kitchenette was well stocked and included two burners. Fairway maket is across the street so it would be very easy to grab groceries and cook in the room. The staff was excellent. Location is fantastic if swing a show at the Beacon. And the express subway at 72 is very close and will take you quickly to Times Square. Lots of dining options nearby. Highly recommend.

Our suite was fabulous. Our only complaint was that one of the elevators was out of service, and the remaining two were small and slow. Otherwise, this was a perfect stay. They need to develop a relationship with one of the many local garages, because we had to go to three before we found one that would accept our car overnight.

Suite was a good size for the money. Mattresses were terrible. Room wasn't fully clean but not a disaster. Tiles and grout not in great condition. Stains on furniture. Staff was helpful. Location very good.

The hotel was located in a wonderful area near the subway, super quiet, we had a kitchen where we could make breakfast and saved money. Staff wqs nice and helpful. The hotel rooms xould use some yodatinf but everything wqs clean and housekeeping did a great job we always had fresh dishes and pans when we arrived after a lonf day and rhey checked us in early which wqs super nice and helpful wirh little kids. Thank you to all the staff at hotel Beacon.

Front desk is very friendly! Always wearing a smile. Room was decent a little smaller than I thought. Restroom also on the small side. Location is EXCELLENT! Why did I give it 3 stars well…found a roach in our left over pizza box, waste of $55, the bathtub didn’t drain properly so we stood in a puddle of our dirty water, hair dryer smelled like burning hair and sure enough there was hair left in the hair dryer from who knows when, so I had to remove someone else’s hair out of hair dryer. Yes I did make them aware of the roach and tub issue. Both times they said they would have someone check it out while we were out. The tub issue was “fixed”, but it wasn’t. And the roach issue was never brought up again but we also didn’t see any other roaches after that. I have videos of issues above but it doesn’t allow video only photos.

The staff were very polite, informative and helpful. The room could have been cleaner. The window sill had crumbs all over it and the windows had greasy handprints on them. The furniture is looking tired and ready to be updated. The location is great and lobby welcoming.

The stay was good. I didn’t like the AC unit making a rattling noise, so I couldn’t use it while sleeping. Second, I couldn’t stay for my second time, so I asked both Expedia and the hotel itself to see if they could refund me for the second night. Both of them said that they couldn’t do anything about it since I booked it through the third party. It’s pretty disappointing that both Expedia and the hotel itself couldn’t do anything about it what’s so ever. I understand there’s policy place, however there was no wiggle room on anyone’s side to help and make an exception. I had to make a choice and stay since if I didn’t I would’ve lost out on a good amount of money.

Close to grocery & pharmacies. Beautiful views. Great area to walk. Weird heating system. Microwave was touchy. I had many problems with the internet on my tablet, but I'm aware of how many people are using it. It wouldn't hurt to boost it? Still, LOVE this hotel.

Booked for 4. The option was 2 rooms or 1 bedroom suite with foldout in living room. $2700 for 3 nights. Foldout was unbearably uncomfortable. No apologies, no special accommodation. Had to pay for a second room for 2 of the nights. Their big concession was giving us the Expedia rate for the second room. Staff could not have cared any less. Air conditioning was extremely noisy. Too hot to leave it off. Tiny bathroom. Only nice staff were the bellmen. Stay elsewhere

Very disappointed! Through our wedding planners recommendation we booked 12 rooms 6 months ago for our guests attending our daughter’s wedding at the museum. The hotel completely overbooked July 16 and 17 and gave different reasons like broken water pipes and termites in walls to our guests and tried to “ combine “ 2 and 3 reservations in one room, suggesting putting 6 adults in one single room with rollaway twin beds. Also our guests arrived from long overseas flights and were “ held “ in the lobby for over an hour. They arrived at 5 pm, way past check in time with no options but to combine. The 2 ladies at the front desk were extremely unkind and discourteous trying to convince all of us to accept a studio room with 6 adults. When asked for water the reply was “ we don’t have any! “ The whole situation was upsetting but could have been less of a blow, had the female manager and 2 reception ladies not been so simply rude and showing no compassion to our guests whatsoever. It’s really a shame that The Beacon would operate like this!

I love this hotel--but I love the front desk staff more! The lady who checked us in Friday around 4pm treated us so well, as if we were VIP's. And this continued for our entire stay as everyone was so friendly and professional. They made the UWS feel like the home it used to be for me!

I had a verrry good two-night stay at Hotel Beacon. I highly recommend it. I was immediately greeted by the bellman, Carl, who was personable and efficient. He was Johnny-on-the-spot gathering my luggage, as I went through the infamous 9 Yogic Contortions to gain release from the"extra comfort" Lyft. :D ;} All of the front desk associates I had dealings with went the extra mile. I was upgraded to a suit, with a well stocked kitchen, nice views, and a comfortable bed. [NB: There are a few kinks; e.g., there is a treacherous step UP into the bathroom. It is clear a stop gap measure was put in place to at least make the guest aware (with a motion-sensor nightlight) that is no help during the day.] The bathroom is small, but very clean and functional with some nice amenities. Overall, I was impressed with the level of comfort, functionality, and charm of the room. Finally, the doorman, Jett, is a special person who exemplifies the charms and best qualities of Hotel Beacon.

Why would you stay in a Times Sqaure Hotel when you can have an elegant stay at the Hotel Beacon on the Upper West Side? Classy, with large rooms in the best part of Manhattan, lots of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, and yes with good subway links to Times Square and the rest of NYC.

This property was a great location for Lincoln center and some theaters and Central Park, as well as Museum of natural history. It was a short walk for good shopping and slightly longer walk for lots of good restaurant options. We felt safe walking back at night and there is a great little bagel place a few short blocks north. The only thing that would make this place more perfect would be a nice cup of coffee in the lobby.

Good location on Upper West Side -- easy sfe walks to 72nd and 79th IRT stations. Lincoln Center also an easy 15' or less walk. Fairway Supermarket across on Broadway and Trader Joes just a couple blocks down so one can take advantage of room kitchenette if you wish (and it was decently stocked in terms of utensils and pots and pans). Lots of restaurants nearby. My king sized room was apporpriately spacious and worth the extra $$$. Elevators worked well and at most had to wait one minute. All in all look forward to repeating my stay in a year or two.
