Did not accommodate my paid reservation for a King room. Told me only Queen rooms were available. Blamed it on Expedia and told us the hotel was oversold. Elevators are a MAJOR safety concern. Multiple instances with elevator not opening and people having to sound emergency alarm

Basically a solidly good stay. Only one room complaint ...the water didn't fully drain in the tub/shower and the phone in the room didn't work to reach the front desk or room service. Otherwise a comfortable bed and lively lobby, bar and breakfast areas. Very nice staff! Picked it for location which is also great. The bonvoy brand is one of my go to's.

This is our 2nd time staying at the Lexington! We had a great experience both times. The only room for improvement necessary is that the elevators are very slow. There are 4 of them but we're not sure they were all running, especially at check out times. Otherwise, great hotel!

Clean hotel and great location. Should remove the luggage fee, they make you pay 3USD per bag just hold it if the room is not ready or if you need to check out early which is absurd. No other hotel does that.

Would hinge on being a five star property except for restaurant and bar which are open a few a few hours a day and have the menu and quality consistent with such. Mandatory $35.00 daily fee per room will cover one drink when bar is open.

Nice, clean hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Bottled water available at no charge. 5-10 minutes from the Metro. Microwave available on request. The rooms were typically sized for NY but the second floor has nice common spaces as well. I would stay here again. 15 minute walk to the MOMA.

Great property! Very clean! One thing that wasn't good is that online it shows valet parking is $70 per day but at check-in I was told $80 per day and then at check out I was charged $100 per day plus taxes and fees. When I questioned it, they said well it depends on the size of your vehicle. That was never mentioned.

The room was spacious with plenty of options in the area for food and convenience. The bed was comfortable, and it was well maintained and clean. There wasn't an option to ventilate the bathroom when showering, so there was a slight mildew smell that agitated our allergies. We had to go down to the lobby to get new keys three times, since the cards would randomly disable with no warning. The front desk is open 24 hours, so we were able to get the problem fixed relatively quickly and the staff is very friendly. There is a daily fee in addition to the posted stay rate, but you can use the fee as a daily credit for the adjoined restaurant, and there were a bunch of perks included in the stay if you want to maximize your time in Manhattan. Request extra towels in advance if you plan to stay for longer than a quick weekend trip!

Do yourself a favor and just say no. Our room had bugs and the A/C wouldn’t work correctly all the time. They charge you additional fees and don’t tell you until you check in. The $35 daily fee was on none of my paperwork. I don’t understand how this hotel is considered a “4 star” hotel. Never. Again.

Great location. Rooms are decent sized for New York, but the property needs a refresh. Cleanliness was subpar. We did not have shampoo and conditioner in one room. In another the shower was broken and we had to change rooms. Hair dryer was also broken. This would be a great property with more care.

My friend and I traveled to visit my daughter who was living in NYC for the summer. We were very pleased with the cleanliness and space in the room. The hotel staff was very eager to help and kind. It was extremely affordable and very reasonable. There were some cosmetic issues such as chipping enamel in the bath tub, and some wall paper beginning to peel, but for an older hotel. I would expect cosmetic issues. Although those cosmetic issues were present, the room was extremely clean. I would highly recommend this hotel. Location was perfect, and never felt uncomfortable or unsafe coming back the the Lexington! Would most certainly stay here again.

The very first night I slept there I found a false strip lash in my bed. I spoke to the staff.. They said they were going to give me Bonvoy points since I paid through Expedia and they were not able to amend my payment. They never did give me those points. The ice machine on the fifth floor does not work. The one on the eighth floor does probably because it's for the elite members. However, the ice, even on the eighth floor has black specs in it. Now a week later, I find out that I have ringworm, which obviously came from the hotel. When she did come to change my sheets, she kept on her dirty gloves that she probably was cleaning all the rooms with.. great location, but it's not worth the health dangers. And when they say they're going to do something, they absolutely don't..

Highly recommend coming here. Staff was friendly and located at a nice part of town. The room was small but perfect for going to sleep on clean linen and a clean bathroom. The style of the interior I modern mixed with metro. Breakfast was the best I’ve had. Sausage, fluffy eggs, potatoes and some pastries.

Cozy rooms, some quite small, but as a solo traveler I didn’t mind that, I like the character of the hotel overall.Small but significant thing; I really appreciated the strong water pressure in the shower (a rarity) and fairly deep tub.

Great walking distance to many great spots like rockefeller and grand central station, but away from a lot of the noise and crowdedness. Hotel itself was nice, lobby area updated, rooms a little outdated (a/c didnt work the best, bathrooms were tiny) but still comfortable enough.

It was quaint and charming, but lacking on many basic amenities. No robes, no coffee maker, no double paned windows, no bathroom light switch inside the bathroom. And toilets that sound like jet engines when flushed. Not a bad stay, but would not choose this hotel again.

Close to everything. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Room was hot though. Had to have housekeeping bring up two fans to stay cool. Understandable in the summer, just wasn't always the most comfortable. Make sure to use the $35 credit each day or they will charge you $35 for not using it.

The AC is astonishingly noisy. I couldn’t sleep a single full night due to the noise. They even include earplugs with the excuse that it is for “city noise” (which I couldn’t hear any)…

Friendly staff! My room was located by the ice machine room at the end if the hallway. The sound of dropping ice was so loud that was waking me periodically up. Sound of people arguing and partying traveled through the vents. I was not able to fall asleep until after 2:00 a.m.

Staff was excellent— extremely customer focused and friendly. Hotel seems understaffed though, and waiting in line seems excessive. Rooms are comfortable but need upgrades. Mattress and furniture were worn out. Upholstered signed was frayed and sunken in. Facilities need some work. There are multiple elevators that don’t work, and at peak times, it could take 30 minutes to get an elevator. At check in, I was assigned to a room someone else had left dirty. Staff was great in resolving the problem, even upgrading my room, but the slept in bed and tub of filthy bathwater was a real negative.

Check in was at 4pm. They had 1 staff working and we had to wait over 20 mins in line to check in. Once we reached the counter we were told that rooms were unavailable. The staff seemed unfazed by the long line and unhappy guests. Having one person working reception during check in time on a Sat in NYC is unacceptable. We had to leave our bags unable to change before heading to a Broadway show, that we had booked based on hotel check in time. We then discovered the next morning that the wrong card was charged for the room. Based on the already poor customer service we chose not to bring this up. Later that day a rep from the hotel had the nerve to call us and try to sell us more reservations at a later date. When I expressed my frustrations of the day she simply stated that she would write it down. I’ve been to this hotel before and it was great which is why we came back. But never again.

‘Amenity fee’ is BS because you don’t really get any amenities. When we arrived (early even) it seemed like EVERY guest had the same check in time schedule and it created the longest line just to get our key- they were poorly prepared for all those people (tho this HAS to be a daily event if it’s the same check in time for everyone- so I suppose it’s just poor service) the staff was rude, the guests were confused, and the rooms are tinnnnyyy (and not just ‘New York’ tiny like ‘I can’t believe I spent this much’ tiny’ Wouldn’t recommend- the location was convenient but that’s about all the good I can say….

I would never stay at this property again. I called to confirm my reservation at the front desk because I had 4 rooms and was hung up on repeatedly by the concierge. After trying to confirm, they told me I didn’t have a reservation even though I had the name, receipt and confirmation number. A man at the front desk called me rude for asking him to try to find my reservation again. While it was finally resolved, I was told it was my fault and that I should know how to travel better - I don’t even know what that means. Elevators took a very long time and many were out of order throughout the weekend. We were charged $3 per bag to store them after we checked out. This had to be done in cash. The rooms were fine but the staff made it completely unpleasant (except for a few kind individuals at check in) but I’ve never felt more uncomfortable at a Marriott and would recommend not visiting New York before staying here.

While it was finally resolved, I was told it was my fault and that I should know how to travel better - I don’t even know what that means. Elevators took a very long time and many were out of order throughout the weekend. We were charged $3 per bag to store them after we checked out. This had to be done in cash. The rooms were fine but the staff made it completely unpleasant (except for a few kind individuals at check in) but I’ve never felt more uncomfortable at a Marriott and would recommend not visiting New York before staying here.

Someone had a key to my room and tried to come in one evening. They didn’t announce themselves or knock but luckily we had the secondary lock engaged. I called down to the front desk to ask and they said they would look in to it but I never received any information.

My daughter and I stayed at the Lexington for two nights. The room was rather spacious for New York standards and very clean. The location is great with different kinds of public transportation options. It was a bit unusual to pay $3 per luggage for storage but still ok. What bothered my daughter and me was the unprofessional service at the reception at check in and especially at checkout. Great walking distance to many great spots like rockefeller and grand central station, but away from a lot of the noise and crowdedness. Hotel itself was nice, lobby area updated, rooms a little outdated (a/c didnt work the best, bathrooms were tiny) but still comfortable enough.

It’s a 2 minute walk to central station which is incredibly handy. Walkable to Times Square, restaurants and Central Park. The building is definitely older and could use some cosmetic couch ups. But it was a nice place to stay with our teenagers for a few days.

Highly recommend coming here. Staff was friendly and located at a nice part of town. The room was small but perfect for going to sleep on clean linen and a clean bathroom. The style of the interior I modern mixed with metro. Breakfast was the best I’ve had. Sausage, fluffy eggs, potatoes and some pastries.

Location: 10/10 right in Midtown, super accessible to restaurants, bakeries, shops and Central Park Room: 8/10 very small even for NYC standards, but it's cheap and you get what you pay for. Location is the winner here! Hotel Restaurant (Stayton Room) $36+tax for the basic continental breakfast was disappointing. Happy Hour cocktails are 50% at $12/ea. The $35 Tourism Fee can be applied as a credit here so it was perfect for a HH drink every day. Breakfast is not worth it, go across the street or basically anywhere else for better food and service. Staff: 6/10 always seemed in a rush and unable to give us their full attention. Bartenders at the hotel bar were hit or miss. Front desk always had a long line with one person working. Was never able to get Citibike passes as promised as they were always out every day we asked.

Our stay at the Lexington was delightfully quaint with its unmatched history. The staff was friendly and polite…and the bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very pleasing, but the diner menu was light and disappointing. There wasn’t much to choose from, basically salads. The bed was super comfy, room was clean, but bathroom a little tight. The shower/tub was SO narrow, it was uncomfortable. My biggest issue was that they charged us an extra $35 'destination fee' and then gave us a credit for that $35 that we chose to use at the bar. We paid a total of $82 for a glass of wine and a Manhattan. $25 for the Manhattan, $30 for a glass of rose, but the worst part was that they added an 18% gratuity without telling us, so we then added another 15% tip (because I think 20% for bar service when I already paid 1.5 times the cost of a bottle for a glass) is outrageous. My husband complained to the manager when we were checking out in the morning about the extra tip, and we were told they would reverse the additional $12 I added on, but have not seen that credit actually come through yet and I doubt we will. I know NYC is expensive but $82 for two drinks? They should have at least announced that a tip was already added to the bill.

This hotel is just a few city blocks from pretty much everything! Very classic modern hotel, leaning towards the original art deco fashion. The front staff were welcoming, providing good recommendations for food in the area and the hotel was very clean and relaxing. The rooms themselves were a little smaller than I expected, but was satisfying as I'm just a solo traveler. My room didn't include a mini fridge, but I was happy to see that they provided noise canceling options in the drawer, paying attention to the fact that the city never truly sleeps. Subway stops near by (just a few blocks) and an attached Starbucks within the hotel. I'd say, overall, a great stay!

I stay in approximately 100 Marriott properties per year. The hotel is old and definitely need some updating and renovations. The location is ideal for Midtown Manhattan theater, districts, restaurants. It was reasonably priced and may stay again in the future.
