Cedar Cove

This a VERY well run property. The pond/lagoon in the back look GREAT at sunrise/sunset. The property is just a 2 minute walk from the road that leads to the entrance to Cedar Point. About 2 miles east of the property there are some beautiful bird watching/hiking trails something or rather Marsh.

Good Hotel. Great personel. Nice big room. Comfy bed. Decent shower. Towel changed most days. Good Tv abd Wifi. Free cold water from Lobby. Near Cedar Point.

It was clean, had a pool that was open until 11 pm, had a complimentary breakfast. It suited our needs and was affordable. The staff was very nice.

The property is very close to Cedar Point and inexpensive! The one downside was a sketchy swamp behind the property and the parking lot! Be careful and be aware and beware especially at night because the parking lot doesn’t have lighting and you might come across some creatures!

The pool is not big but it’s fine, especially if you’re there for things like cedar point and just want a quick dip in the pool. The breakfast was the same thing every day but was also fine- small muffins, pancakes, cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt, fruit. The rooms are okay- something about the ac made the room (beds and floors) slightly damp and there was a smell when we came back, but we were gone most of the day and just needed a halfway decent place to stay that wasn’t super pricy.

Everyone (staff) was kind and friendly. Our room was just right for what we needed. A day at cedar point, very convenient to the park. Breakfast was a bonus, along with the pool and seats to sit by the pond.

Staff was so friendly. Room was nice and big. There is a wild life refuge in back. They having viewing chairs set up..so much fun. They could improve on breakfast! Not much there.

No power and no back up generator. Parking lot was right and in disrepair.

Very convenient and affordable hotel for anyone going to Cedar Point during the peak season. It was only a five minute drive to the park. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The front desk is open 24/7 and they give you complimentary bottled water. The area wasn’t the nicest but I wasn’t out walking around in it. There was a nice lily pond outside you could sit and look at. The pool was small but I can’t review it because I didn’t have time to go swimming. Room was great for the price and was very clean. Enjoyed the free breakfast, especially the pancake maker. Only downside is that it was very carb heavy with only one protein option (hard boiled eggs.) Overall had a great stay and would recommend

Perfect for the price. Nothing fancy, pretty decent continental breakfast. Pool was small but clean. My son and I loved it.

On the website the rooms look well kept, we got to the room it smelled moldy very humid as if they needed a humidifier. The sheets felt damp, woke up to a couple having sex next door the walls were very paper thin. The TV did not work. I don’t feel as if this room was worth $300 a night. It gave me us a red room motel kinda vibe which is not how it was presented on the website. After being at the park all day we were tired and honestly didn’t have enough energy to complain. I don’t think this will be an option for us the next time we come out here.

This was a traumatic experience for my family. On the first night in the hotel my daughter woke me up crying in the middle of the night saying there were bugs in her bed. I checked and found 3or 4 ants. I assured her it was ok I got them all and she should go back to sleep. She ended up sleeping with me. The second night same thing. Middle of the night ants on the floor in the bathroom dad. Again 4-5. Killed them and went back to bed. The 3rd night was the bad one. Woke up and there were ants everywhere!!!!!!!!! My bed her bed our clothes our bags the bathroom. I’m not talking 4-5 ants either I’m talking thousands and thousands of ants. I work in a lumber mill and this was worse then anything I’ve ever seen. I could not for the life of me figure out what was attracting them because we didn’t bring food into the hotel. So after I wake up to my daughter literally covered in ants I look around and find the remnants of someone’s grapes. Which means after 3 days of “cleaning” our room there was still the guest before us’s food garbage on the floor. I changed hotels for the remainder of my stay in Sandusky. I called the hotel and someone was supposed to have called me back. Been 2 days and haven’t heard nothing. I feel like a terrible dad for putting my children through this. Please Learn a lesson from me. The early access just isn’t worth the trauma this has caused my child.

The room definitely needs to be refreshed it smeled like mildew and the airconditoner filter was so dirty it took 4times to get it clean and the room still smelled like mildew must have been the carpet becouse our feet were black after walking on it the beds were comfortable and the location was good close to cedar point and the price was fair also the pool stayed open till 11p which was fantastic

Price was good. Online pictures a bit deceptive and was not as nice as pictures showed. Room was clean but smelled moldy and musty. Bathroom curtain and towels had stains on them that grossed me out. We tried to open window to air out and found that window was broke and didn’t lock.

A/C was cold, rooms were secured, beds were decent, breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly and professional- but the floor in the room was terribly filthy. We had to wash our feet multiple times a day throughout our stay because they would turn black from walking around. 3/5.

We have stayed at cedar cove a few times this year so we could take our kids to cedar point and get the most out of our passes. Its affordable and very close to the park. Theres a restaurant/bar right across the street and gas stations close by to pick things up if you need to. They also have a very helpful and friendly staff, very comfortable beds and an outdoor swimming pool our girls used allot. Then they have a free small breakfast in the morning with a pancake maker & toast or bagels, cereal, juice or coffee and some little donuts or muffins. Its a great little place for a basic stay and very convient if your going to cedar point. The only issue my family had was the dirty floors, we had to wear our shoes in the hotel room or your feet get black. You cant tell they are dirty by looking at them but walking on them is a different story. All in all we had a great stay and for the price we can deal with the dirty floors!

There was a spider in the bathroom that was 4 in in diameter…..called and they came and removed it but it was enormous.

It was a place to sleep for the night. The floor was very dirty. I ended up taking a wash cloth and cleaning the floor so our feet wouldn’t get filthy again.

Third time staying at this location after visting cedar point for the day. First two times we had no issues however this time around was a little different. Addressed issue that there was some kind a leak coming from the floor , perhaps a pipe leak some sort , leaving wooden part of the floor by the bathroom to stay wet. Secondly, lack of cleanliness in the shower , prior guests hair across the bathroom walls. Someones stay could be a hit or miss. Staff is friendly and breakfast was decent for the price you're paying.

We usually stay here all the time but this time we had 2 rooms right next to each other and our room had ants all underneath the bathroom sink so they gave us a new room on the opposite side of the other room and later that evening the guests in the room next to us realized they had a bunch of ants crawling between the 2 beds. It’s a nice place but definitely not a fan of the ants.

Great place for the money. Only complaint would be that the walls seem to be paper thin and when our neighbors got back from the bar at 1am and turned on the tv we could hear every word. They were watching big bang theory.

Train passed through every 30-60 minutes throughout the night. Door to room was difficult to close, leaving us to feel a bit vulnerable. AC units took forever to cool down the room. Rooms are very outdated. The staff was kind.

Initially looked rough as both side properties are vacant but they have tried to remodel and added flowers Nice sitting area outside in back. Clean but not fancy, well run, good breakfast. Couldn’t hear showers or people in other rooms but there is a train near by that runs every hour and half even at night. So I would go again but take earplugs

Lots of trains throughout the night is my only complaint

We were here for Cedar Point HalloWeekend so the location was great. The hotel has obviously gone through extensively interior remodeling but the room was anything but soundproof. It was as if a window was open how loud the flocks of geese and the multiple train passes sounded. Out of 3 rooms only one had an exposed pole to hang clothes. The mini-fridges are noisey.

Inside is cheaply updated but okay. Bedding wasn’t great and the outside is very dated. Isn’t bad for a cheap stay if visiting cedar point.

Beds were comfortable, good value for the money. Rooms were small but adequate. Make sure to bring a noise machine or earplugs because the train goes through every 15 minutes all day and night. Breakfast was good. We will be back.

Very busy and noisy rail line behind the hotel with train horns going all night long, several times per hour.

It’s in a convenient location near Cedar Point & the desk worker was nice but bathroom was dirty & there’s apparently train tracks very close by & heard trains all night long

It was what you would expect for the price. It was clean and the breakfast was good. The walls were thin and the beds are full size, not queen (I didn't pay close enough attention and was surprised how small the bed and room were). The bathroom was in good condition and the water was hot. It is really close to the causeway to Cedar Point so that was a huge bonus. I would stay again.

For the price, this hotel was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful, all spaces were clean and well maintained. Rooms and beds were comfortable with good pillows. Continental breakfast was well stocked and good quality. This was a perfect spot for us, and so close to Cedar point. We will stay again next year! Thank you to the staff!

I love the calming lil pond in the back as well as how close they are to cedar point. Staff is always nice and ver accommodating.

We took a trip to Cedar Point and stayed two nights. It was very clean, staff was wonderful, breakfast was good, and it was the perfect location.

Customer service was the worst I've ever seen. The tenant yelled at me loud enough for the people outside to hear me. Then our room leaked water in a matter of seconds. There is a big puddle right in the middle of the floor they had to switch us to a different room. Which they cleaned, is one of the better rooms, but it was really not much better than what we had. And it was less handicapped accessible

Room had a musty smell. Sheets had dirt/hair on them. Ceiling had clear water damage that was painted over and some spots just left damaged. Staff was very apologetic and gave a full refund.

I didn’t like that somebody tried coming into our room while we were trying to take a nap good thigg no it was locked idc if it was staff or not knock before you come in and for that reason I will not be coming back here

Excellent customer service. The current owners have been there just a few years and are slowly turning the once rundown old motel into a very nice, clean, upgraded place to stay. It is still a work in progress, but the customer service more than makes up for any temporary shortfalls. Piyush and Himesh were a pleasure to talk with and always asked if there was anything we needed or if there was anything they could do for us. Maggie on duty for breakfast grew up in the area and was a wealth of local knowledge and history. Our room was clean & comfortable, and there is free breakfast in the mornings and bottled water any time you want. The location is convenient to Cedar Point surrounded by much more expensive hotels, so it's a good neighborhood. We look forward to staying with them again on our next visit to Cedar Point.

Not happy, website shows that it is fully refundable. I had a 2 night stay, checked out the next day due to family emergency, when I checked out I informed them that they will not need to clean the room due to I didn’t sleep there nor use any toiletries. I asked if I could atleast get refund for the 2nd night since I was understanding of taking a room they could’ve given to someone else so I was ok with taking a loss with one night stay. Front desk said to reach out to Expedia since I booked through them and once they talk to Expedia they would refund me. Expedia reached out to them multiple times with no response. I called today and he took my number and I told him what went on he said he would check his email yet never called me back or answered when I called back. Such a disappointment, why say I can get refund but not give it back? I would much rather have a full refund considering I didn’t stay at all. Won’t be going back, that’s for sure.

The front desk staff was extremely nice and professional I won’t be back to Sandusky for a long time and if I do go back I would definitely go back to the cedar cove. I highly recommend

The location was perfect, adjacent to the Cedar Point entrance, the room was nice, clean, but a bit on the COZY side. It would be perfect for a solo traveler, but a couple with a few bags, not so much. The breakfast was same old, except for their yummy blueberry mini muffins! Also...trains went by often. Take earplugs if you're not a VERY sounds sleeper.

The rooms are updated, staff is very happy to help! Pool and rooms are very clean and comfortable ! 5 star all the way ! I can’t say enough good things about this place They care about there guests ! Will be back for sure

Great location for Cedar Point

It was only 5 minutes from Cedar Point Amusement Park. Nice wetlands behind property with birds and turtles.

Very close to Cedar Point

Very good and basic room. Great location, located right off the peninsula from Cedar Point. Staff was wonderful at check-in and the breakfast lady was excellent. She was on top of filling items back up. Room was a little underwhelming- for the price paid, I would recommend paying $50 more for a cedar point chain hotel.

We didn’t stay long, just to sleep, but everything went well and we slept good. So close to Cedar Point!

The only down was not having breakfast before 7am

This hotel, or better yet Motel is very old. There are some updates in the room but the building is very old Our room had a door to another room and we could hear their tv all night. The pool is tiny and the pictures of the hotel are very flattering. The breakfast is very limited: yogurts, some cheap pastries, cereal, toast. The hotel is very close to cedar point but the park is 2mi away and you cannot walk, so you are still stuck spending 45$ of parking. The hotel is non smoking but many people walk out of their room and smoke there. There were cigarette butts everywhere. Also the train is very close and give the poor sound proofing I was up every morning at 5:30. The price is somewhat low I have to admit, so if you plan to just sleep there and not spend much time in the hotel, it is not the end of the world and you cannot walk spend the money you save in a wonderful dinner.

The location is very close to Cedar Point which was super convenient. The staff at check in was very helpful and gave cold water which was nice. However, the breakfast was really gross. Boiled eggs were in one large wet dirty bowl and the water was the color green, and the woman doing the breakfast was coughing all over everything. We decided to not eat the breakfast. The rooms were spacious and renovated. Minus the breakfast it was a decent motel.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The motel is super close to Cedar Point, so it made a midday park break super easy. Breakfast was the typical continental breakfast with muffins, bagels, cereal, pancakes, etc.
