Sand Rose is an older resort nestled between two newer hotels.The friendly staff was in constant motion to keep hallways clean and safe. Even though there were bars on both sides, the hotel is quiet. Both bars can be reached by just walking through a gate near the pool. You walk past the pool and down a few steps to the beach. There's lots of patio space adjacent to the pool; some areas are covered. The two showers/faucets for rinsing off when returning to the pool area are in need of an upgrade. The room was nice with comfortable beds and daily housekeeping. The tiny balcony was useful to dry sandy beach shoes/towels. The breakfast was outstanding and plentiful. We had our Golden Retriever with us, and the pet area was easily accessible and clean.

The pool was too small and not good filtration. Water was discolored in the evening and overcrowded. The room was really nice, but outside the window was a wasp nest and debris down below our room. The shower rod was not stable and I had to put it back up twice. The elevators near us were inoperable the whole time we were there. We waited 45 minutes for a luggage rack to take our luggage up to our room, which never came. Limited parking for guests.

Lovely property. Although a bit older, the hotel was a great stay for our honeymoon. Our room (king - ocean view) was great. We had a beautiful view of the gulf and pool. Pool was ok - neighbor hotels (marriott/hilton) had nicer pools. Breakfast included omelet station which was a nice touch. The beach area quickly gets covered by chair/umbrellas for rent ($40) so getting a spot is a challenge. Staff was ok - not as friendly as they could be but not rude.Overall i would stay again because of location and price.

We had a king ocean view on the 2nd floor. This is one of our favorite hotels to stay during off season, since the prices are lower. Hot breakfast is served daily 7-10. Also, omelette’s are made on request. There is full remodeling of all rooms, but construction crew was very focused and didn’t make noise during the night. The Gulf of America ocean water was warm and the sunny weather was in the 80’s. Beaches are cleaned every morning. Our hotel is on the beach and has a walkway to the largest beachbar, Clayton’s and Hilton next door. There is a small gift shop , Starbucks, bar, and restaurant, which is very convenient and has reasonable prices. The outdoor pool was refreshing and has a kids pool, but unfortunately, no hot tub jacuzzi!

Dated but clean. Seems like just about anyone can walk in and use their pool, but the beach is just beyond the pool; so it didn’t bother us too much. Restroom by the pool was nasty; we just went to our room for restrooms when needed. Great vibe at hotel and surrounding areas!

We spent 2 days here. The staff were really nice. It was a quick walk to the beach. Food was good (I had shrimp scampi pizza),they had a restaurant plus there were adjoining restaurants and bars. The second night, my daughter woke up at 4am and went to the bathroom and found little bugs all over. She took pix and had a bug app and that said they were German Cockroaches. So although I'd like to go back, I still have my suitcases in the car, not sure what to do in case they got in there

The room was very clean, but the staff was excellent!!! 10 Stars!! So kind, so helpful, so courteous, and SOOO Friendly!! We do not speak Spanish, but that was never once a problem...they went out of their way to try to understand our needs and accommodate us. Breakfast, a REAL breakfast everyday...not a continental breakfast that we have experienced elsewhere. Plus the location of the resort could not have been better. Right there on the Beach!!! Ola's Bar and Grill was such a nice surprise!! If anyone goes you must ask for a "Mariah's Margarita!" Or as Edgar calls it an "M & M." The seating and deck outside, so close to the beach, was so pleasant. We had never been to South Padre Island so did not know what to expect but the Sand Rose and their staff exceeded all expectations! We will return!!!!!!

The property sits in a perfect place on the beach but the condition of the building was the problem. From the moment you walk in the lobby, the smell was terrible. Once we got to the room it was no different. Musky smell, damp. Toilet didn’t work, well it flushed but took ten minutes for the tank to refill. Water smelled. Just an awful place and because it was holiday weekend, the price was 350.00 per night. Motel 6 would have been better for 50.00 per night. I would never recommend or stay at this property again. However, the staff was great. The saying, you can dress up a pig, but it’s still a pig.

We recently spent three nights at Sandrose Resort. While its beachfront location and pet-friendly policy may appeal to some, the overall experience left us underwhelmed. The pull-out bed was especially uncomfortable; you could feel every spring, making restful sleep nearly impossible. Though it's nice that pets are welcome, be prepared for frequent barking—yippy dogs added an extra layer of noise throughout the stay. Another frustration was the air conditioning. Despite setting the thermostat to 66°F, the room consistently felt much warmer, more like 74°, which made the space stuffy and hard to relax in. On top of that, anytime someone opened a porch door, it would cause nearby room doors to slam shut, making nighttime especially noisy. The shower did offer hot water, but the pressure was disappointingly low. Parking was scarce, and the complimentary breakfast was mediocre at best. If your top priorities are proximity to the beach and pet accommodations, this resort might check your boxes. But for comfort, quiet, and consistency, we found it lacking.

The ocean view from the room was breath taking for our first family trip, 10/10 view.Breakfast could be better 4/10, maid service was 10/10 always cleaned our room very good. The beach workers were very rude 1/10. Overall 6/10 the room was comfortable and cozzy and the view was amazing.

The partial ocean view was non-existent the 1st night in a 2nd floor room. After talking with rep at front desk at check-in we were told to come back to desk 2nd day to see if we could be moved. We’ve stayed there many times over the years always with partial or ocean view with understanding even partial was 3rd or 4th floor. We were very disappointed and felt we lost a day of vacation and inconvenience to moving 2nd day there. We were moved to an actual partial view room but there was no offer to compensate us for paying for partial room for the 1st night but not receiving what was booked or the inconvenience created with changing rooms. Our booking was made well in advance and feel it should have been available. We are appreciative of finally getting a real partial view room. The staff was wonderful but the check in was not like what we have experienced when staying at Sand Rose or La Quinta over the past 15+ years.

Good breakfast menu, we had fresh made omelettes, that were good! We had an Ocean view which was great, there was construction going on during our stay, but noise was minimal. My only complaint, walls are paper thin and could hear the people on the floor above us, all night. It seemed like every time they walked around, it sounds like a parade going on. Hard to sleep when you are hearing that at 4:00 am.

Unfortunately, we had to leave in the middle of the night last night due to a very distressing situation involving the emergency alarms. While we were sleeping, alarms began going off with no explanation. We were yelled at by security on the fourth floor to evacuate and run to shelter, but there was no clear communication about what was actually happening. For almost an hour, there were no updates or instructions on whether it was safe to return. I even tried contacting the front desk but didn’t receive any response. When we finally made it back to our room, the alarms went off again, causing even more anxiety. At that point, I was experiencing a severe anxiety attack, and for my own well-being, we made the decision to leave the hotel and head to the airport. Gave me a 25% back refund of that night.

This hotel is an amazing value for the money you spend. First off, I arrived early around 2:45pm due to early flights and they still gave me a room at that time. The entire staff at the hotel are very welcoming and extremely helpful. They helped to make my stay very comfortable. Onsite facilities include a bar/ restaurant, a gift shop including pastries, adult beverages, ice cream and even a Starbucks. Also, there is a full breakfast with eggs and meats and including a custom omelet station. I had a room with 2 queen beds with a partial ocean view. Pics are included. I recommend the pizza at their Ola bar, which has a happy hour every afternoon. I have been going to the island since the mid 90's and have not found a better value than what this hotel offers.

Booked room with ocean view and was given a room with partial to no ocean view, when I called front desk and told them my situation they said they would be charging me a fee to be relocated, I explained to them it would not make sense for me to pay a fee to be relocated if I did not get the room I booked to begin with. Person I spoke to was extremely rude and basically told me I got what I got and ocean view rooms where no longer available, I booked my room with a week in advance, I payed extra for a room with ocean view and they did not seem to care.

Loved it! The place is right on the beach. The biggest bar in Texas is right next to it. Multiple food and drinks options available - and you don't have to leave the beach to get them. Staff is very attentive and nice. Turtle inc is right across the road- great place for kids to explore and learn. Breakfast was great and it's included in your stay. You can bring pets for a fee. This place checks all the boxes for us and we had a great time.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The romm was clean, just not exactly what i expected for a resort. The breakfast was horrible. They had an omlet bar and buffet style breakfast with scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs with bits of sausage, potatoes, refried beans, tortillas. NO bacon or sausage. The juice was warm. Definitely not "resort" quality. Pool was clean but smell strongly of chemicals. The beach chairs are not included and are $40 for 2 chairs and an umbrella. We had a good experience, just not 5 star.
