Sheraton Oceanfront Hotel

I enjoy an oceanfront view, so this was perfect, and we were able to see the outdoor pool from our balcony, very nice pool area with an area to buy food and a couple of cabanas in addition to the regular lounge chairs and towels available for your use. The gym had 24-hour access with the newest equipment, towels and free bottled water. Our suite was located a few steps from the elevator, and I never heard people outside of our room. I would book this hotel again.

perffect in every way but......2 of the 4 elevators out of service. Wife disabled and had to go from 1 elevator to another to reach the pool. One night the other stopped. We were stuck on the sixth floor for 40 minutes. Could not take stairs due to disabled wife. When a meeting was on.......you can guess how long it took to get on. Everybody was complaining. ( the sixth floor was our room)

Pool was not inviting. Outdoor space needs updating.

Elevators and ice machines were out majority of the week. The pool was barely cleaned and was filled with sand and flies. Also, the walls are pretty thin, so you can pretty much hear everything next door. The best thing was being close to the beach

Great location. The elevators didn’t always both work, but this was quickly corrected each time.

We traveled over 900miles for a family reunion and upon arrival we noticed the hotel was down one elevator. There were over 300 family members staying there and after the last elevator went down we resulted to having to climb up and down multiple flights of stairs daily.

Nice staff and room. Parking was easy. Pool area could have been cleaner and staffed better.

Staff was friendly and efficient; rooms were clean. LOVED the back setting area facing the ocean with the fire pits. Would love to see more options in the little food area near the check-in desk.

More expensive than our usual hotels, but the suite was roomy and had a balcony with a great view. Lots of little issues with the room like a light out and a missing bar on the mini fridge door, but staff fixed things quickly. The pull-out sofa was in pretty bad shape though. Right across the street from the infamous Pocahontas Pancake House, which is great since breakfast is not included in the price. Parking is right across the street in a garage; use room key to enter and exit. They let you use the parking garage until 4 pm, even after checking out, which is super convenient. Would stay again.

Elevators were slow and parking is not free anymore

Good Morning, My family and I came to vacation for the weekend at Sheraton Virgina beach for our last vacation before summer ends on labor day weekend 2023. We just checked out. Although we had a great stay and the view from room was spectacular we did encounter some issues. The carpet was wet. Not sure why but it was damp the entire time. There was mold and stains on pillows and sheets. Please see pictures below. As a Marriott Bonvoy member I know that Sheraton has a prestine standard and we expected much better especially at the price we paid. I hope this matter can be resolved because the location is prestinevand property overall is nice but it does need morevarrention to detail wirh cleanliness espeicially at the hefty price we paid.

We exited the facility on Sunday afternoon, checked out gave them the key and a receipt was emailed to me. This morning, we received a phone call to visit the front desk at the check-out time. The had no knowledge that we were out of the Hotel and the room had been paid for. Equally alarming were the number of cockroaches on the property, including one in our room.

I like the front desk staff, they were very helpful when i did not like my room. I did not like the attitude of the resturant greeter who gave an attitude when asked about coffee. I did not like that there was no shower mat in the bathroom on the first night. I did not like that there was a dried blood stain on the pillow case. Also the elevators are too small.

First room had mold in it. I was relocated however that one was dirty. Looked like dried up blood on the door to the bath room, the tub was dirty and rusted.

Overall the stay was okay, we stayed for 4 days and not once was our room asked to be cleaned and or if we needed anything. The shower was leaking and our floors was stained. Only one elevator was working. The night crew was very good! It could've been a better experience.

We paid over $2,000 for this stay, and what we received was completely unacceptable. The room was clearly not cleaned before our arrival — sand was all over the floor, making it uncomfortable to even walk barefoot. The toilet was not working at all, forcing us into an embarrassing and inconvenient situation for the entire stay. On top of that, there was no soap provided, which is a basic necessity every property should have. For this price, I expected a premium, hassle-free experience. Instead, I received conditions that would be unacceptable even at a budget motel. The lack of cleanliness, broken bathroom facilities, and missing essentials show a complete disregard for guest comfort and satisfaction. This was not a minor inconvenience — it was a complete failure to deliver what was promised and what I paid for. I am requesting a full refund immediately. If management values its reputation and future business, I expect this matter to be resolved without delay. I will be escalating this review publicly and through the appropriate channels if no resolution is offered promptly.

Bed is not comfortable and bathroom tub was very dirty needs to be scrubbed ceiling is peeling off the pool extremely dirty not doing a good job cleaning it

Room was full of gnats!!! It was so much!! Front desk told me nothing could be done other than engineering using some machine to suck out the gnats. Told me to contact expedia for compensation. Expedia called front desk and all they offered was a free breakfast! Gnats flying around, crawling on walls, balcony door, counter tops! It was extremely bad and all they could offer was free breakfast. They couldve warned me at checkin. Also the room wasnt clean. Soda top & medicine on floor, previous guest jar of body oil left on counter and DIRTY LINEN ON BED!!! I will never stay at this location again!!!!

The staff were all super nice and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious (although unfortunately not complimentary). However I could tell that this hotel used to be fancy but is definitely becoming a bit rundown. The pool was pretty grungy, and I actually ended up having to change rooms because of cockroach sightings. My friends also got downgraded and ended up not having enough beds for everyone. Overall, pretty standard hotel.

Great location! Great service! Friendly staff. Safe was broken A/C made a lot of different noises and made it hard to sleep. It’s possible it was just that room, but I’m not sure I’ll stay here again.

Location was good. Room was ok . WiFi didn’t really work, had to ask twice to have the safe fixed in the room. Sliding glass door was hard to open.

We stayed in a city view room. Comfy and spacious for a family of three. Breakfast was sufficient. It was a good beach stay and everything was convenient.

The location and ocean view from our room were excellent. However the room was very small and the walls so thin that we were able to hear our neighbor's television at night. The hotel in general is in dire need of an upgrade. Our closet door continually fell of its roller hinges; the bathroom door did not close tightly, etc. The carpeting throughout was very worn, the outdoor furniture filthy and overall condition poor. I would not recommend this property too others in its present condition.

Nice hotel, little bit high priced for not being on the beach side of the hotel, no complimentary breakfast, and the WiFi service was in and out, not to mention my Verizon Wireless service even had a terrible connection, not a bad place to stay, but for that much money I will probably try to find another place to stay

We booked a king room with sofa bed, balcony over looking the beach for our 25 year anniversary. Something happened with the pipes and the room was not available at check-in. We were given a king room, pool side - beach level. Getting to the room, we found the elevator was out and not labeled as such. Thankfully another guest redirected us and said they’d experienced the same issue with no sign earlier in the week.having a cart full of items and needing to get down to the lower level, you’d expect this to be clear and front desk staff to advise. Arriving in the room we found ourselves to be directly poolside, no beach view as we’d booked. Each morning between 7:30-8:30 we were awoken by guests enjoying the pool however, personally we were not ready to rise and unable to continue our sleep. The internet on the floor was severely spotty as well, the least of our concerns but overall another reason for a less than stellar stay. Especially considering we indicated the issues to the front desk and were told we could be downgraded to resolve “our issues” I’m not even sure what more could’ve been taken from our trip but hey, guess the offer was there.

The property was very walkable to restaurants, stores the board walk and beach. The staff was very friendly and the excellent customer service. My room was okay. The bed was very comfortable, but the bathroom needs better ventilation and the soap dish was cracked, the toilet paper holder was lose, so the toilet paper wouldn’t stay on it and I couldn’t not open the safe my entire stay, which I couldn’t lock up my purse to go swimming. Overall, I would rate my stay a 3.5.

My room was quite large with a small balcony facing the ocean. Clean, peaceful, and comfortable. The hotel facilities and my room were clean except at the restaurant, where on Sunday it smelled like raw eggs, and this was hours after the end of breakfast, and the smell remained for the rest of the day. I stayed for two nights, and it only happened once, so I am guessing the cleaning crew either forgot to take out the trash or didn't clean well after breakfast, but the smell was gross. On top of that, the temperature in the lobby and restaurant was unbearably cold. The outside temperature this weekend was mid-to high 70s at the beach, warm during the day, yet no one adjusted the inside temperature. The lobby /restaurant area, I'm guessing, was set to 50. There's a bar in the restaurant, but I and no one else could enjoy it because it was freezing in there.

The stay started off good until we went to take a shower and realized we had no cold water, so it was a choice between taking a scorching hot shower or not showering at all. One of the people staying in the hotel room, spoke to the front desk about sending someone to look at it, the front desk attendant seemed very dismissive but ultimately instructed us that they would send someone to fix it, however they never did and the issue was never fixed. When we were checking out the next day, we spoke to the same front desk attendant and she once again dismissed us. I would not recommend this hotel based of the lack of costumer service.

Juan the bartender was excellent

The property was ok. The room had issues with the ac unit during our stay but the staff made up for any issues that we had. I would return just because our the staff like Allison at the front desk and Loraine with housekeeping. Both went the extra mile to make sure that my family and I were welcome and comfortable during our stay.

The property was lovely, and our room was just as depicted in the pictures. However, there were a few instances when reaching the front desk was challenging, which made me suspect that they were understaffed. Despite this minor inconvenience, I would still consider staying at this beautiful hotel again.

The best part was the wonderful customer service.

We stayed with you from 6/19-6/23. It was terrible. 1st. Check in was supposed to be at 4 pm. We got there at 4 and we had to wait until 4:45 because our room wasn't ready, while other guests that checked in with us got their rooms. They didnt even offer to take our bags so we could go to the beach or something. 2. Once we got our rooms, we found out it was still dirty. Plugging a charger in by the right night stand, there was a bunch of dirty candy on the floor by the night stand. That could bring bugs and what not. 3. Air conditioner was broken. It only pumped out 1 temperature, freezing cold. 4. Carpets were ripped in places. 5. We found blood on the duvet cover. 6. On top of all of this, our second and third nights, there were parties in the room next to us. A bunch of men being loud, yelling, banging, playing loud music until 3am. We called the front desk, they said they'll send someone up to talk to them and they never did. My wife is pregnant and couldn't get to sleep because of this. 7. House keeping never gave us new towels in the morning, despite us putting them on the floor. They only made the bed and left. Didn't replace the blood stained duvet. Nothing. It is disgusting to have to sleep with someone else's blood on a comforter. 8. Apparently. Every room has recently been renovated. Maybe, but the bathroom had peeling drywall tape, water stains in the ceiling, and dim lighting. We felt like we were in old dirty motel. I use to stay at this h

I often stay at Sheraton and have never had an issue, but this time was different. Both elevators were out of service and I am not in condition to climb 9 flights of stairs twice a day. Eventually they managed to fix one but wait time was long. That being said I want to highlight the exceptional service we received from Mason (unfortunately I didn’t catch his last name) He went above and beyond to make sure we have water and towels, even personally delivering them to our room. His professionalism and kindness made a big difference during our bumpy stay.

I had a few issues with checking in for my birthday week but the General manager Jim(gave me a free drink while waiting) and manager Eric were the best at fixing all my issues. They provided other accomasation too much to say. The staff were phenomenal and very accommodating Nya, Robert, and Mari made sure my 4-night stay was perfect! Robert has the best personality for the front desk and has only been there since February. I appreciate the team!

The housekeeping staff has given up. When checking in our room wasn’t ready for multiple hours after check in time. Once in the room the shower contained used washcloths. No coffee or cups were present. I had to call down or ask the front desk for items each of the 4 nights we stayed. The room was serviced only once the entire stay. By the last day we were out of TP and body wash, our towels were never replaced. The front desk blamed it on the company that services the towels. Shame because it’s a nice hotel in a convenient spot. Service is awful.

Terrible Experience – Would Never Return I had one of the worst hotel experiences of my life here. I booked and paid for an ocean view room with a king bed, kitchen, and sofa couch. Instead, I was given a standard double bed room with none of the amenities I reserved. When I brought it up, the staff told me I’d be moved to the correct room the next day — so I agreed to wait. The next day, they completely changed their story and said I wouldn’t be moved, but they would refund me $839 for the downgrade. I accepted the refund, but the issues didn’t stop there. Housekeeping never came. I had to repeatedly ask both the front desk and the cleaning staff to service the room. On the third day, they finally changed the bed sheets — but never vacuumed or actually cleaned the space. At that point, we decided to cut our stay short due to the constant problems. When I went to check out and confirm the refund, I was told by the front desk that many of their staff are new hires and had given me incorrect information, and that I now had to contact Expedia myself. It felt like my original room was resold at a higher rate and I was fed excuses to cover it up. I was misled, dismissed, and left with no support. How am I supposed to know who is a new hire and who actually knows what they’re doing? This hotel was unprofessional, disorganized, and dishonest from start to finish. I do not recommend staying here.

Great location. Stayed during the Shamrock Marathon and it’s directly between the start and finish of the races. Staff was friendly and accommodating with check out time as well for racers. Great job. I will be back !

Great ocean view. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance. The bathroom was on the smaller side but functional. The hotel was quiet but we were also there during the off season-January. I would stay there again.

This was singlehandedly my WORST hotel experience!! Shame on you SHERATON!! You lost a customer and can have your Marriott Bonvoy points back. What was right: I liked the oak scented shampoo and lotion in the bathroom. The dining room and poolside bar staff were excellent The selection was small, but the food was good. What was wrong: Only 1 of 3 elevators in the main hotel was operational for 3 1/2 of my 5 day stay and the one had to be shared between GUESTS AND STAFF!! I once shared a ride with attendants, vacuums, and a laundry bin! My upstairs neighbor smoked weed EVERY MORNING AND EVENING despite my complaint to the front desk. They had KIDS!! They shut ALL elevators down Wed. evening during DINNERTIME for repairs! I had to walk up FIVE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS and skipped dinner out of frustration and exhaustion. I managed, but shameful that our elders had to endure that! My ups Chipped soapdish and missing section of the baseboard. (May seem petty, but when you pay $250/night for an oceanfront room, I expect a little better.) Overflowing trash at 7am at the coffee station Disgusting pool with no regular maintenance (sand & cigarette butts) in the middle of the day. Homeless people sleeping on the sofas in the cabanas during the day

The hotel staff were super helpful at check-in and whenever we needed items brought to the room (extra towels, toilet paper, or having our garbage emptied). The restaurant staff in the hotel was less than helpful, cold food and poor service when we went down for breakfast. The hotel common areas including the bathroom in the lobby and the pool needed more attention. The pool area was not cleaned until 10:30-11 each day, we sand and debris from the day/night before. The bathroom floors were covered in toilet paper. Our room was lovely, great space for 2 adults and 1 child.

Hotel was right on the beach lower lobby took you directly to the water. Hotel was clean and food was good. However, room service was lacking, took several phone calls to get room service, towels, and sheets. We would request room service before leaving and would get back to the service not done yet. Overall, solid hotel.

Property is right on the beach in location close to food and shopping. Hotel had an excellent restaurant with affordable prices. Staff members were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel…The guy that helped us with our bags when we first arrived was so nice and so helpful.. he immediately got us into a different room when we realized our balcony door was jammed…the waitress in the hotel restaurant was also very very nice.. the food was really good..

Overall our stay was amazing, we were just really bummed that the pool/bar areas were not open and the outdoor firepits were not on.

Elevators did not work, caution that hot water will burn you, and terrible bathroom conditions. Beware of expensive price but trashy hotel. Terrible breakfast buffet.

The staff at this location was fantastic!!! Our issues were, there was only one working elevator…and seems there is no Service elevator. So often the working one wasn’t usable. And there was never a barista at the coffee bar. So ended up having to leave the property for that option when it’s something we paid for. We ordered dinner to eat out on the beach and when we got out there realized there wasn’t one napkin or utensil. 😔The rooms were clean and top notch. And again can’t say enough about the staff. They were wonderful!!
