Boarders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone Hotels - Wautoma

Pool/Hot tub wasn't available which was part of reason I chose this location over other hotels.

1) Lady at checkin was not freindly, might say rude. 2) No elevator was on second floor with steps hard for elderly and luggage. 3) Roon 206 ceiling had rain leak damage. 4) Something gross stuck on window. 5) trash bag over smoke detector. 6) TV would not start called for assistance and lady rude again at front desk. 7) Pool was out og use some PH issue? 8) Trash on right side of bed we pickedup and threw away. 9) Beds were so hard like sleeping on boards. 10) Breakfast biscuits were dry and couple day old. 11) Strawberry jelly was Orange and smelled sour vinegar. Was not happy at all and would not recommend.

Very disappointed. The hot tub and pool are closed for construction and it wasn't advertised. I would have stayed at a different hotel as this was a special birthday trip and i was looking forward to the hot tub. The AC in my king bed whirlpool suite was broken and I had to be moved to a double queen room. Because i had booked on hotels.com the hotel wouldn't refund me anything until i had customer service from the app contact them. Only got $20 refunded each night which made it definitely not worth missing out on the amenities i had originally booked this hotel for.

Property overall was ok. Checkin was good. No elevator was horrible. Room was clean and decent. However, refrigerator not so good. Breakfast was a disappointment. No eggs except boiled. No coffee creamer and was out of coffee when we arrived. Overall an average hotel.

Hot tub was cold

When checking in there was a sign stating the pool and whirlpool were out of service. That was the reason we decided to stay there. Also told it was out of service for the past three months at least and probably won’t be repaired. The leg on the table fell off when we moved it to play board games. This hotel needs a lot of TLC. The pictures on the website were nothing like what our room looked like.

The fans in the pool area were broken and it was extremely hot. I had been so looking forward to cooling off in the pool after an overly hot day of emptying my storage unit. . . . .

Awesome place was disappointed the pool and hot tub was down for service

The bathroom was clean. The lamp shades were filthy to the point of being almost gross. The bedside table had something sticky on it. The bed was comfortable. The towels were soft. The pillows were hard as a rock. Some of the furniture was very stained but the microwave was brand new.This area is very limited in hotel availability. Overall it had some nice points but needs a little more care.

The hotel itself looks nice and quaint, but cleanliness is an issue. The couch in our suite has crumbs all over it and then when we opened the pull-out couch for our kids to sleep on, there was food/crumbs/popcorn all in it. We asked for linens for the pull-out couch because none could be found in the room and the linens were very old and worn looking that we got with some stains as well. We also asked for a cot and it took them hours to bring it. Additionally, because we got a suite, we had two rooms but the room with the pull-out couch (living room area) by the door was so unbearably hot, our kids couldn't even sleep in there. We had to move the cot into our bedroom near the AC unit and our other kiddo chose to sleep in a chair in our room to be closer to the AC. There is a temperature control device in that living room area but it seems to be completely useless. We told the front desk about this and asked how to get it working and they were not able to help, only stating that the "wedding party" that were in the suite last time didn't have any complaints. Also my husband went to turn on one lamp and said there were cobwebs all over the bulb. This could be a cute hotel but the issues we had made this a more stressful stay than it should have been.

1st they said my July reservation was canceled in June. I did not cancel in fact I guaranteed it through Hotels.com. Then they finally found me a room for three nights. Room was in disrepair. Broken tp dispenser, dirty moldy shower drain and shower head, wet carpet and floor. Dirty and stained furniture. The staff appeared understaffed and overworked having multiple jobs like manning the desk, taking reservation calls, washing towels/sheets, preparing the breakfast and removing trash. Owner needs to update the property if they want to stay in business much longer.

Service was great. Breakfast was a decent continental with waffkes and biscuits and gravy. Room was quiet, comfortable and spacious. Thw only thing I would say is the whole hotel is in need of a deep cleaning. Although the room was absolutely clean enough, the surfaces were just dusty. When we walked down to breakfast we noticed the ceiling, fans and lights were extremely neglected. That being said, I've definitely stayed in some gross places...this was not gross at all. I would definitely stay here again.

Very convenient location, close to restaurants and highway. Very large lobby with lots of seating. Was welcomed by a friendly attendant and quickly checked in. Room was very nice & clean.

Clean rooms, quiet rooms, good beds. A nice place to stay

Bed & pillows were good but room could have been cleaner. Hair around tub, milk and 1/2 bottle of water, cob webs in corners. Breakfast was nice but dust bunnies above ceiling fan.

The staff was very friendly and constantly cleaning around the hotel.

Very dirty. Rooms smelled terrible. Like the carpet had never been cleaned. I know it’s pet friendly but this was beyond that. There were bugs coming out of the a/c, which we couldn’t even have on because it smelled so bad. We paid for 2 nights and left after 1. The lady serving the continental breakfast in the morning was BAREFOOT.

Common areas ok, room smelled musty and there was mold on bathroom ceiling. Very small TV, good size refrigerator

The beds felt like I was sleeping on a board. The room just had a grimy feel to it. The hot tub was not working and the pool was overly chemicaled. My key card stopped working and the guy behind the counter made it seem like it was my fault when I had to go not once but twice to get the card reprogrammed. The breakfast tasted stale and expired. I asked for the juice machine to be turned on twice but no one bothered to help. Also the guy microwaving breakfast smelt so bad like BO that when he had to come let me in the room so i could get ready to leave the smell lingered for 30 mins.

Rooms were large and comfortable

Clean but the room was worn. Cracked sink, grouting needed. The halls had flickering lights and the backdoor was not secured. Location made security less of an issue.

Our stay was fine, nothing fancy. It’s a bit run down and worn but it was pretty clean. It served its purpose for the night.

Rooms are out of date & worn. Upon arrival the toilet lid was broken on the seat & just put back on for us to find. Reported to staff so they didn’t think we did it. Staff was friendly & available. Breakfast was typical, person setting it up was friendly & helpful. Would probably not return just because of condition of rooms.

Opted here over other nearby cheaper options that had sketchy reviews. Called ahead and asked about early check-in. Was told ok if a room was ready. Got there 9am and got a room! My wife worked remote. Good wifi. I went fishing. Although dated, room was clean and comfortable. Decent tv channels and everything worked as it should. Beds on the firm side but we like that. Second day room keys stopped working and they gave us housekeeping keys that worked. Pool and hot tub were nice too. Overall very accommodating as you might expect in a small town. Definitely would stay again. Thanks to Jenny and Crystal.

Hotel was convenient for our one night stay but very outdated

Definitely not updated! TV the size of computer monitors. Beds has hard as a rock. But it was clean and quiet

The best thing about the stay was Rosa, I believe she is the manager. She was awesome despite having staff that was subpar. The first room given was gross but she was quick to try to fix it. She gave us a new room. When staff didn't show up to make breakfast she, despite working until midnight, quickly made breakfast. From what I was told the housekeeping staff didn't come in either. The lobby was clean and so were the halls. The grounds around the hotel were decent. It is fairly conveniently located around restaurants and if you need basics

The receptionist Rosa who checked us in was awesome Our room that we originally booked had some issues with the key..i asked if there were any other rooms available...she checked and there was one, unfortunately it was not ready but she said she would try and work some magic and she did! Found us another room that was ready. She went out of her way to accommodate us. Friendly professional, great personality, made us feel welcome.

The attendant at the front desk was quite rude when I arrived at 1:30 and kindly asked if I could check in. She simply stated for $50. I said really even if my room is ready? She said "For $50" She could have easily stated it in a more customer service friendly fashion by saying. "I'm sorry but the hotel policy required me to charge an extra $50 for any early check ins." I was instantly soured by her attitude. Later after I checked in, this same clerk was training a new desk clerk and had (3) guests waiting at the front desk to check in. I walked by and overheard her reprimanding this new person about having a drink behind the counter and ordered her to dump it out. This could have easily waited until there were no guests present. It was really unprofessional and down right stupid. The clerk she was training check me in earlier and was kind and professional. She had no trouble taking care of my needs and even tried to assist carrying my luggage upstairs once we realized there was no elevator present. The room itself must not have been occupied for quite some time as there was a ring of dirt on the inside of the toilet. The bed had a long dark hair in it and I'm not sure if the sheets were never changed or the hair belonged to the maid service. Other than these things, the hotel was fine. The pool was very clean and the breakfast decent. Not really much hot to eat but waffles and the same biscuits and gravy were served both Saturday and Sunday.

Check out staff wanted to charge me $60 because the hotel had not yet received payment from Expedia. Expedia was very helpful in resolving the issue, but it took over an hour to resolve as front desk ‘Mike’ was more interested in arguing with me than calling Expedia himself to work on resolving the issue

Staff bent over backwards to make sure my stay was good

Checked in at front desk and was given our room keys. Went to room only to find out that it wasn't ready. Went back to desk and was told that the room was marked as ready. While I was there another guest also came back to the desk with the same problem. I understand mistakes are made but at least an apology would have been nice! We left the hotel and let her know that we would be back 2 hours later. When we came back the room still wasn't ready!! They quickly got somebody to get the room cleaned. Once we got access to the room we discovered that there was a wall in the shower that had plastic and duct tape covering it and there was no shelf to hold our shampoo, soap, etc. Bathroom sink also drained very slowly. The hotel was fully booked so we just had to deal with it all. On our second day there we returned to our room only to find that our key cards didn't work. Went to the front desk once again and was told that we probably had our cards next to our phones. This I found hard to believe as it was both of our key cards! Upon checkout I mentioned the plastic in the shower and the lack of a shower shelf and the slow draining sink. I believe she jotted down the lack of a shower shelf and the slow drain but seemed to just shrug off the taped up shower wall. It seemed that she was aware of it! I understand that things may be under repair but it would have been nice to get an explanation,an apology, or offered a REDUCED ROOM RATE.

Made a reservation at this hotel for an accessible room on the first floor 14 days prior, received the confirmation code. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told they had no reservation. When I showed the confirmation to the desk person, she stated that Expedia cancels when they overbook and do not tell the purchaser. This being a Saturday night, they had only one room left - on the second floor. As both I and my husband have trouble walking (use a cane), it was quite a challenge to carry luggage up the stairs, having to make 2 trips in order to handle it. Additionally, only ice machine is on the first floor requiring another trip on the stairs. Of course, no one at the hotel offered any assistance. I have used Expedia frequently when booking a hotel and have never run into this before. I have another hotel reservation in a couple of weeks and now will have to check with the hotel to make sure Expedia hasn’t cancelled it. If this is indeed Expedia’s policy, I will have to reconsider using this booking service. We were not pleased, to say the least. (Confirmation #73103503581639 from May 24-May 25. I note that the dates in the picture on this page is the wrong date. Could this have been the issue - that the hotel was given the wrong date by Expedia?)

The check in guy was not friendly. Took a long time in line, fire alarm went off twice and scared us. Called front desk they said maybe someone was smoking in room, old coffee left in coffee pot. Could have been more friendly and cleaner bathroom, bed was OK, pillows were awful.

Clean quiet easy to find

Came to town to play a couple rounds with of golf. Convenient location and all staff members super friendly and cordial. Would stay here again!

Easy parking and location. Next to gas stations which is convenient. Close to places to eat.

Booked a few rooms for an overnight stay and we were pleased to find the rooms clean and comfortable. It's great to have an option like Boarders Inn & Suites in a small market.

It was in a very busy shopping area, but during the night it was very quiet! Very comfortable. Staff was very pleasant & helpful.

Staff at this property were helpful, friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very clean, well-stocked and nicely maintained. Nice self-serve breakfast. Very quiet and and we felt safe. The only drawback was the hotel signage was not highly visible from the street.

Breakfast was simple "continental" - small donuts, bagels, etc. No hot food. Website says daily newspaper, but none available. We had to gather our towels and take them to the front desk to get fresh towels.

Charlyn, the staff person at check in, was friendly and efficient. We appreciated access to the dining seating outside of breakfast hours so we could play games with our group. Breakfast was meh, mostly unattended with regard to tables being wiped down and slow to refill.
