We had a very relaxing five days at the Altis, the staff were helpful, accessible and friendly throughout. The bottle of wine to welcome us was a lovely surprise. We made use of the excellent gym and spa facilities every day before hitting Porto. We loved the location and view of the Douro from our room - quiet but just a 15 minute walk into the centre or quayside.

The hotel is beautiful and so are the rooms. The upgraded river view was slightly misleading because trees block the view of the river. And the rooftop bar never had a server the 5 times we tried to have a drink up there, so we had to carry drinks from downstairs. Other than that we loved the hotel and would recommend it.

This hotel was run extremely well. Staff were friendly and attentive and befitting of a 5* hotel. We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was top class. We also used the rooftop pool which had great views but limited sun loungers on a busy day. However, there was additional seating around the bar area. Their chauffeur parking service was also very useful for us.

We arrived at the hotel before midday but were pleased that our room was ready. Our room was lovely with a view of the river and everywhere in the hotel was spotless. We took advantage of the indoor pool a few times and the water was at a good temperature. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and we would certainly come back again.

I was so impressed by the Altis Porto. The staff were so very attentive from check in to check out. The spa facilities are so incredible as is the gym and pool. Everything you need is provided. I was fortunate to be in a deluxe river view room and it was great. Good products bathroom and shower. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

The four of us, including our two sons who are in their early twenties, stayed for five nights in two rooms. The hotel managed to provide a twin room for the boys which was appreciated. The rooms were comfortable and the service was excellent. We also enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar. The location was good for us, although it is at the top of a hill so staying there keeps you in shape.

Shops were a bit of a walk away but not a problem. The hotel & staff were excellent and we really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The restaurant was fantastic for breakfasts the evening meal we had and the roof terrace was wonderful.

This Hotel and their staff were amazing on every metric. The food and amenities are outstanding. The location and the park next to it are stunning. Both of the pools and the stream rooms are exceptional. The view from the roof is like a living postcard of Porto. I would like to specifically thank Daniella for booking us the perfect excursions for our time there. The staff was the best part of our stay. Their service and sincerity exceeded expectations. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay. We stayed at 5 different hotels in our time in Portugal and this one absolutely shined above all of them. Just book it and enjoy! They deserve 10 stars. The staff were nice and the hotel was clean and functional. The location was quiet and about 20 mins walk from the main areas. We felt more like 4 star than 5, but it served our purpose well Indoor pool no kids after noon. Outdoor pool and bar nice but small. Spa not really 5 star.

Clean and very comfortable. It's a fairly new hotel - 3 years old. Besides the great breakfast offered, we enjoyed a dinner here too. The onion pie was really good. It was delicious! Thanks to "Nelson" (if I remembered his name correctly) for recommending it. Reception staff are also very helpful & friendly. Special mention to Pedro Marques who helped us check in and gave good suggestions for our stay. Walkable to riverside and attractions. Only thing is the do not disturb/ make up room sign kept flying off doors. I saw this happen outside other doors too. Signs ended up on the floor. Some kind soul then put the sign back on our door but with the wrong message. This led to our room not being serviced while we were out.

The staff members were friendly and very helpful. They made us feel like very important guests. The room was nice and well appointed. The bed was a little stiff, but I like a soft bed, so take that for what it’s worth. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Overall Outstanding! We had a river view room which was a little disappointing as the trees in front were overgrown so the view was limited. The road in front can be busy at times when sat on the balcony but you can’t hear it when the door is shut

The staff were great and incredibly helpful.We had an accessible room and although the bathroom was accessible the room was very small and we struggled to fit our mobility scooter in the room.If we needed to use a wheelchair it would have not been suitable as not enough room around the bed.That being said the hotel was well positioned and the breakfasts were really good.

We had a wonderful stay at Altis Porto and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a 5 star experience! We can’t remember everyone’s names, but from the front desk to the bar staff to the spa (Caita) to the restaurant (Nelson), everyone went out of their way to make our stay truly special. The hotel is situated within walking distance to the city centre and major attractions. Our room was comfortable and the food was exceptional. We have recommended this hotel to friends and family too! A massive thank you again!

The hotel itself was great. Terrific location, well laid out and decorated rooms, excellent breakfast, but the thing which really set the experience apart was the service. From the moment we walked in the door, I genuinely don't think any staff member could have done more to make us feel welcome. From reception managing to upgrade our rooms, to the bar staff asking the chef to do us a cheese and meat board which was not on the menu to go with an afternoon glass of wine, to the simply wonderful breakfast team. It really was quite remarkable. We'd love to go back W

We had a very relaxing five days at the Altis, the staff were helpful, accessible and friendly throughout. The bottle of wine to welcome us was a lovely surprise. We made use of the excellent gym and spa facilities every day before hitting Porto. We loved the location and view of the Douro from our room - quiet but just a 15 minute walk into the centre or quayside.

Excellent hotel. Great service. Hotel is new and it is decorated exquisitely. Has a very good spa area. They supply robes. The room is spacious and organized well. The shower is just right. Not in center of town but 12 minutes walk. We also went to a mexican restaurant Frida nearby. Also recommended

Probably the best hotel I’ve stayed in in Europe. Very attentive staff, wonderful breakfast, gorgeous clean stylish rooms, the best view from a rooftop pool. Location was great, 10 minutes walk to the historical centre and right next to the beautiful gardens.

Really liked this hotel and would definitely return. It’s a fairly new hotel about 10 mins away from Porto Downtown area. Beautiful room and staff very friendly. My only concern is that the waiting staff in the restaurant do not speak very good English. First morning our coffees did not arrive. Second morning my omelette did not arrive and bacon, sausage, Frittata were cold due to sitting around for too long. Whilst each time an apology was made I do believe this service can be made much better very quickly. Also on day three I ordered an eggs Benedict and eggs Florentine arrived. Clean and very comfortable. It's a fairly new hotel - 3 years old. Besides the great breakfast offered, we enjoyed a dinner here too. The onion pie was really good. It was delicious! Thanks to "Nelson" (if I remembered his name correctly) for recommending it. Reception staff are also very helpful & friendly. Special mention to Pedro Marques who helped us check in and gave good suggestions for our stay. Walkable to riverside and attractions. Only thing is the do not disturb/ make up room sign kept flying off doors. I saw this happen outside other doors too. Signs ended up on the floor. Some kind soul then put the sign back on our door but with the wrong message. This led to our room not being serviced while we were out.

Shops were a bit of a walk away but not a problem. The hotel & staff were excellent and we really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The restaurant was fantastic for breakfasts the evening meal we had and the roof terrace was wonderful.

A few issues with housekeeping but soon rectified. No milk for the hot drinks in room and hot drinks in breakfast room were not very hot. Food was excellent but the cooked food was lukewarm. Otherwise was excellent hotel and staff helpful and friendly

Wonderful hotel. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Rooms were spacious enough for two adults and a child who had a great rollaway bed (we had regular garden view room). Amazing breakfasts - best we had during our trip around Portugal (with great variety for different tastes and high quality). Very friendly and helpful stuff. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to use spa amenities with all the sightseeing. But hope to do that if we come back to Porto next time. I did get a massage from their spa though and that was great.
